[X] Country- Secure Alpha. We only have two cities, we have no excuse for leaving on undefended.
[X] Country- Begin a Census. We need firm grasp of numbers and overall demographics of citizens to operate well.
We can do the census later. Its planting season atm, so we need to get the expanded agriculture down now or we'll have to wait a year.
Also Alpha. whilst undefended, is not at risk of Horse Lord invasions, so it should be ok for the moment. But yes, that is something to go on the to-do list.

LS If we stick a kingdom action this turn but it doesn't get completed will we have to do it again next turn or will that count as us having jogged the wheels of burocracy so it'll keep working at it?

I'll give you the action if it makes sense for it to be finished. Kingdom actions are essentially you pushing for public projects to be done.

Made a change to my personal vote.

After thinking it over, it doesn't make sense for me to go looking for a master and to his mastery without some amount of work to my name.

On the other hand, we have no idea what cash crops would do well in our climate. Jumping in with "Cash crops!" before we know what to grow or have a good way to defend those expensive crops is a recipe to lose the harvest- Whether because we chose badly, or because lolbandits.

Actually, the Census and Mapping may be best at this point- But that depends a bit. Do we not have functional maps of our own country?

You have personal hand made maps done by various cartographers. When you say map your country I'm going to assume you want an official survey if your area. This is a fair bit different and more involved.

Surveying? Yeah, I can get behind that.

Surveying and Census would cover all our bases as far as local knowledge is concerned, methinks.

[K] Map the territory.
[K] Expand Agriculture with cash crops. Begin trading if possible.
[P][Drakean] Meditate on Death. Keep in the loop as to the other covens via Soul Well.
[P][XiCree] Do some personal work on the Growth/Reproduce concept. Work with the efforts to expand Agriculture directly, helping where i can by enhancing crop turn over and ensuring crop health.
[P][Tharizdun] Resume studies on Transmutation.
[P][Vindictus] Attempt to get in touch with some of the old family trade contacts, see how the trade empire I suddenly inherited is doing. Inquire about popular trade goods, and the possibility of lowered taxes on affiliated merchants operating in the Kingdom.
[P][FriedIce] Get back in contact with the mob in Omega. Assure them that I'm still one of them. Subtly hint that I wouldn't be adverse to representing their interests in court. Etc. Basically networking. Also, I'm going to ask them to keep there ears open on any threats ot the kingdom, intersting rumours, usefull snipits of information. Make sure they know I will make it worth their time.
[P][MrGazzer] Get in contact with old mercenary friends and see if any are willing to pay back the favors they owe me, we need all the help we can get to secure Alpha and train the solders.

Sorry, fixed it.

Edit: also to to justify why im going for mastery above other things, even if it should be obvious.

Master alchemists can turn any substance into any other with effort. In Necromancer quest Lost Star outright says alchemists are usualy filthy rich. So i want that ability which i will then turn towards funding an alchemists guild in Alpha or Omega and then begin churning out alchemical wonders for us to sell abroad.

And to do mad SCIENCE!!!

Well as the group 'utility' Druid me being on site and in field with the cash crop implementation means that we have a clear way of defining not only what cash crops can be grown, but of figuring out optimal areas in which to grow them as well as help with increasing yields.

Especially since my history points to a man who would know these things even if my expertise lays further into animal husbandry.

I would like to confess something real quick. I totally want this place to end up with the single highest number of necromancers in any one place. Nobody will fuck with us because any war will only feed our undead legions. We won't have a single living soldier in our ranks. Anytime someone dies they are animated and used in the military for a set number of years. Instead of calling levies we exhume the countries graveyards and use that. Nobody will complain about our warmongering ways because it isn't like they have to worry about getting called up and dying in battle. This is ultimately impossible, but a man can dream, can't he?

I will note. Masters are rare for a reason. You will need 9 successes for me to give it to you. Three successes will give you a Mastery level spell. 9 will give you the whole thing. For that I will be rolling a 1d100. 50+ Will be success. First roll will be +30 for Tharizdun since he's got talent. Next one will be +20. One after that will be +10. And so on.

Do not expect me to hand it to you. It's HARD to be a Master Mage.

I suppose that will work well enough.

... Does Spider Silk count as a cash crop?

Who would be willing to expend a personal action with me for an expedition into the Broken Shards? In about an action or 3. I'll call it before the vote i want to go in, just want to know if there will be any help i can count on?

I actuly aprove. Masters should be rare and it should be hard.

But the effort is worth it.

I will have to check with my contacts, but there's PROBABLY a merchant or two who'd be willing to fund it.

Or, if I have enough loose change of my own, I may just fund it myself.

It'd probably be best to put that off for a year or two while we focus on home though.

In three turms you say? I might be available then. Not sure how much help I'd be though.

Depends how well my mastery is coming along. Speaking of, I understand the whole making mastery difficult but if I read that right that means a minimum of two and a quarter years. Unless there is some way to modify that, like getting help from a master of your school, that is a bit unreasonable. Maybe make it an all or nothing at six successes or give bonuses for a critical. Anybody going for mastery will be effectively useless for anything else for a rather long time.

> Potentially get's a lifetime achievement, which takes most people decades to reach, in just over two years time
> Complains about it taking too long

... Yeah. We can't all be Driven, mate.

I will give additional bonuses for tutoring and other things. The thing of it is, I have to balance the mastery with the fact that it's supposed to take a lot of time. I'm not trying to be mean, but Mastery is the equivalent of getting a PHD. It's not something trivial.
