[X] "So, uh... Atago... Ships. Tactics. So on."

Night battle can come up later.

Ataska? Alago? Maybe an idiosyncratic instead of a portmanteau. Anyone have an opinion on this?
Adlasgo. Because reasons.
Adlasgo-Admiral/Alaska/Atago
OT3 for victory.
You got American biases with Japanese war bride (heh). I don't see how my idea might be flawed. It's perfect!
I mean, what kind of eskimo pie would it be it didn't have the stick, the outer coating, and the vanilla core, right?

Mutter [X]"We're never gonna find that spoon, are we?"
Then to try, and fail, to cover it up with:
[×] "So, Atago. What about the other girls here?"

San Fran : We're going to make Alaska the only professional shipgirl in the United States Navy, aren't we?

posty post
You don't even miss a beat as the spoon disappears into the cruiser's longcoat. All things considered, it wasn't even close to the strangest thing you've seen today. You're a ship after all, staring at a spoon that slipped down another ship's cleavage is just too many levels of bizzare for you to deal with. "We're never gonna find that spoon, are we?"

Atago shrugs, "It'll work its way out eventually."

"Fair point," you say, taking a bite of your breakfast and chewing while you thought about what to say. "So, Atago..."

"Hmm?"

"You're Japanese. What do you think of America?"

The Cruiser's cheeks swelled in a smile. "It's so different from how I- how my crew thought of it! Everyone's so friendly, and the food..." she burst into a on a long semi-coherent ramble about the wonders of her homeland. Southern Hospitality was a force of nature, and having a figure like hers could only help things. People tended to look up to their heroes, anyone who waded into battle with eight-inch guns galore had to win a special place in one's heart.

Of course, that she was so damn happy all the time only made it better. Just sitting next to the giggling cruiser as she enthusiastically sung the praises of your native land put a dopey smile on your face.

It takes Dee settling into her seat next to you, her stern bumping against your hull as she hunched over her cereal, to bring you back around to reality. "Hey, Dee," you smiled, ruffling the little destroyer's hair. "You left me a note this morning, didn't you?"

Dee stops to think, "Oh... yeah, I did."

You sigh, "In ink?"

"Yeah- oh," she hangs her head, "Yeah."

Atago smiles, "Don't worry, Dee-chan, everyone makes mistakes."

You shrug, "I just wanna know what was on the note."

"Nothing," muttered Dee, "I was just letting you know I was getting breakfast."

"Mm," you nod. No reason to discuss it further, especially when Dee is so obviously unhappy. You have other things to worry about for the moment, like getting to know your new ship...mates. Friend-ships? Whatever, the girls you're gonna be fighting with. "So, Atago," you ask.
