Ah. That was ... that was.

Orochi was Elmer Fudd, and this was the end of What's Opera, Doc. Now things made sense.

Orochi sighed, scratching the bridge of his own nose for a moment. "Let's make a deal, you and I." A piece of paper - some flyer for some after-school club - fluttered by, and he picked it up. "I'll turn this piece of paper into a bunny rabbit, using origami, and you can keep it for yourself. But after that, you have to leave me alone for a little while, alright?"
She said nothing for a while. Then she took out a piece of paper of her own and folded it into a bunny. "Wanna touch it?"
His grin widening at the prospect of spending the day in a much better way that going to school Haido takes off the headphones and break into a run.

Only to stop when he sees Orochi near the lockers, the little girl with the sweater clinging to his shoulder while...they make paper bunnies?

The metaphorical bulb lights up above Haido's brain. "I get it!" Grinning he walks in front of the redhead. "Orochi-San, that is your [Spirit], isn't it? That's why no one else saw her. Never seen a [Spirit] looking so human...then again, you are the second [Spirit User] I met."

The mechanical wolf of before emerges from Haido's body and floats above him. "This is my Spirit, [Howling Wolf]. What's the name of yours?"

Then he snaps his fingers. "Oh, almost forgot: the radio just said that fast growing plants have consumed some buildings at the edge of town." He points a thumb into the distance. "Wanna investigate?"

"A very good friend of mine told me something the other day. I'd like to pass it on to you, 'cause I believe what he said to be true..."

As he walked towards the school, John Smith saw a certain face out of the corner of his eye.

...Late to school, huh? Well, he can work with that.

Pointing his remote, John Smith activated Heaven's Door.

His target, across the street, collapsed into paper, and John Smith began to approach.

Pausing his music, John Smith once again got out his pen, and began writing.

"Let's see, let's make you trust me... Think nothing of your trust to me... Let's save some time by teaching you English while I'm here... You're willing to protect me from enemy Stand Users and other dangers... Hm, you don't care about me using my Stand to make other people do what I say, that'll be an important one..."

Tapping his lip, John Smith thought on it a bit more.

"...Won't ever use your Stand to cause me harm, won't allow harm to befall me, will tell me if you learn anything of alternate universes, and everything I say is a good idea. Yeah, that should do it."

His work done, John Smith undid the work of Heaven's Door on his victim, and allowed them to reform. The boy who he had targeted was confused for a moment, until John Smith started talking.

"Hey, buddy." He began. "How's it been?"

The boy looked at John Smith, and smiled. "Oh, hey."

"Listen, I need to talk with your brother later." John Smith continued. "Might need to use my Stand on him to make him trust me. Do you think you could bring him here when you finish school?"

"No problem!"

"Great." John Smith continued. "Tell him a Stand User approached you, offering to trade information in exchange for their safety."

"Got it." The boy nodded. "Well, see ya around."

John Smith paused for a moment. "I should make sure..."

Act 3 once again used Heaven's Door, and John Smith quickly made sure that his new minion would play his role properly.

"Don't disappoint me, Okuyasu." John Smith said, as he walked away from the reforming mound of paper. "Now on to stage two. Where is that Ghost Alley..."

"wOw, yoUr stUpy!" The little girl said. "Wanna touch my bunny?" She holds up her paper origami bunny.

A hand, firm, but reassuring, landed upon the little girl's head. Although, those with a keen sense of metaphor might actually have called the offending object a foot.

After all, Orochi Himura had just discovered a way to get a leg up.

"Hey, careful, now, [No Game, No Life]. If there's one thing wolves are known for, it's eating up little rabbits." Well, yes, but - so were snakes. Speaking of, Orochi slithered up from his kneeling position to stare Haido in the face. "And practically all dogs are known for barking up the wrong trees. You and your ...Howling Wolf ... are certain of what you've heard?"

Speaking of, Orochi slithered up from his kneeling position to stare Haido in the face. "And practically all dogs are known for barking up the wrong trees. You and your ...Howling Wolf ... are certain of what you've heard?"

It was a thing that Orochi planted his 'hand' on her 'head'. Because soon afterwards she was pressing her head against his shoulder. The requirements for MOGOOVONIO: Filthy act at a Reasonable Price have been met. Her body melts into Orochi's body until she disappears.

Somewhere in the school the nurse bed started to rumble. Then something came out of the bed sheets. A little girl with an over sized sweater appeared. "aInt nObooty gOna uZes meZ!"

She quickly but quietly walked to the two boys and looked around the two boys. She held up the paper bunny she had, "MOGOLOVONIO: PAPER MOON KING," the paper bunny came to life and bounced halfway across the hall and into Orochi's face. "TAk taT diKfacE!" She quickly ran to a door and slammed it with her between the wall and the door. Soon afterwards she disappeared.

The first thing: Haido reappeared, and casually revealed his stand, Howling Wolf.

The second thing: Orochi, for just a moment, foolishly believed that he could put one over on somebody.

The third thing: The girl he was talking to suddenly melted into Orochi's only arm.

The fourth thing: For some reason, the first thing Orochi thought was, I'm glad she didn't chip a nail on the way up.

The fifth thing: the situation catching up to him, Orochi blinked at the space where the girl was and breathed out, "What the ..."

In summation: a lot of things were happening. Some of them shouldn't have been. Some of them should have been. All of them were.

"MOGOLOVONIO: PAPER MOON KING."

And so was this, apparently.

...except not quite. Except, this strange girl and the phrase "sneak attack" didn't exactly go in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence. Except, taking the time to bounce, this Paper Moon wasn't as fast as some people might have liked. Except, a single bounce away from his face, Orochi got a handle on the situation.

Finally.

"[Call Off Your Ghost]." There was no need to shout about things.

A mere inch away from the prize, Orochi's face was replaced - no, covered by a different one. A female one, blue, white hair, a face almost reminiscent of the cover of the American novel The Great Gatsby. And then, without much else in the way of preamble, the hopping bunny burst into bright red flames, and disappeared into ashes, which further disappeared into the wind. Just like that, the face disappeared as well.

"Some people, apparently, can't take a joke." Orochi put his single hand into his pocket, watching to see whether the girl would do something as silly as anything else she'd done - oh, say, grasp the door, slam it into the wall with her between, and disappear - or whether she'd stick around and see it through. "It looks like you'll have to go on without me, Haido-san. I have a child that I need to discipline."

"It looks like you'll have to go on without me, Haido-san. I have a child that I need to discipline."

She was currently at a popular bread shop. She also experience spontaneously combustion. "fUk u DIkFac!"

Haido was more than willing to humor the little girl-like Spirit. After it was the Spirit of Orochi: even if it appeared to have a separate personality from its user, Orochi himself was a cool guy and thus the previous events were probably a prank. Maybe the redheaded boy is searching for fellow [Spirit Users]? It would explain why his Spirit was materialized in the middle of the class.

But before he could do so Orochi addresses him:
"Hey, careful, now, [No Game, No Life]. If there's one thing wolves are known for, it's eating up little rabbits." Well, yes, but - so were snakes. Speaking of, Orochi slithered up from his kneeling position to stare Haido in the face. "And practically all dogs are known for barking up the wrong trees. You and your ...Howling Wolf ... are certain of what you've heard?"
"They don't always bark up the wrong tree. Otherwise there would be no more dogs left." Haido chuckled before pointing to his ears. "Positive. Like I said, my ears are a lot better than my eyes. And Howling Wolf's ears are much, much better."

The sound of barking comes out of the loudspeaker situated inside the Spirit's maw.

"I heard it from a program called [Mori Mori Mori Morioh Chu Radio]. Host is [Kai Harada]. Apparently no one knows how and why it happened. But! I'm don't want plants to eat my house. What about you?"

Then the little girl-like Spirit disappears into Orochi's body. Only for her to reappear later from another direction and send an animated paper bunny into Orochi's face.

Only for the redheaded boy to call upon a [Different Spirit]! And set the bunny on [fire]!

"Uh?! Wha-! Eh?!" Haido looks back and forth between Orochi and the direction the bunny came from with extreme confusion. Even Howling Wolf seems confused.

Haido looks deep in thought before snapping his fingers again. "I get it! So it wasn't Orochi-san's Spirit, but rather the Spirit of someone you know since you called it by name. Your true Spirit is [Call Off Your Ghost]."

He then bows very deeply. "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding! Let me make up to you! Howling Wolf!"

The Spirit's head perks up, hearing pushed to the maximum. Howling Wolf's brain can handle a much bigger flux of data, so unlike Haido it can listen to everything within his range without going insane.

She was currently at a popular bread shop. She also experience spontaneously combustion. "fUk u DIkFac!"

Howling Wolf barks before pointing in a certain direction like a hound. "Found it! Her! Whatever!" Haido puts a fist on his open palm. "The Spirit is at the bread shop next to the school, and is also on fire! If it is okay with you Orochi-san I would like to stick with you. To go alone to investigate would be unwise, especially since it is apparent that whatever is causing those [building-eating plants] has an incredible range."

RADIO: MORI MORI MORI MORIOH CHU RADIO! GOOD MORNING MORIOH. Your host as always is your neighbor, Kai Harada. This week's morning news, something happened as if it came off of your Shounen Jump! Fast growing plants seemed to have consumed buildings at the edge of town. No one has any news of how his happened but my advice is to stay as far away as possible! Anyways, getting that out of the way, we have some western music today, hope you like David Bowie.

"Well, this looks like a job for me! ..."

Well uh, this is embarrassing. Good thing no one was here. I forgot my own name...

I'm glad there isn't a moderately omniscient being watching my every move. Hmmmm, I should go figure out my name real quick, it's on the tip of my tongue.

BrB world.

...

...

...

Aaah, I see. "This looks like a job for me! Jacob Knight! Quick, to the foreignermobile!"

Then I realized something very important. I didn't have a car.

So I decided to walk. Perhaps it'll be safe and I won't be eaten by trees! And with that thought I left the building once more to find the mysterious trees. Definitely not being accosted by any strange [Stand Users]. Nope, not at all.

:)

"Yes, yes, I'm fine thank you", I said, "Nothing more than my prides been injured I assure you".

There were now three people before me, the same two men as before, only now I could see the Stand floating next to the smoking man, and a teenager, dressed in a strange uniform of sorts, with a pompidour of all things.

I pointed to the tall man, "Nice Hat".

I pointed to the teenager, "Nice Hair".

I pointed to the smoker, "Nice Stand", and called Black Parade back into being, shadows twisting into the shape of a longsword, my Stand taking up a non-threatening, but still protective stance behind me. "It got a name", I asked?
"Oh, every Stand has a name, but that scarcely matters." Vincent replied, removing his cigarette from his mouth and raising an eyebrow. "But if you're worried I'm a threat- a belief, I must say, I have done nothing to earn- what you should be worried about is it's ability."

With that said, Vincent allowed No Heaven to dissolve back into it's original clay form before dismissing it, as a flip of his fingers revealed a Joker card to the stranger. A brief smirk crossed his lips as he allowed the implications of that to sink in, before with a rolling gesture he made the card vanish again and replaced his cigarette.

"Indeed, indeed", I chuckle, "Still though, enough posturing, for now at least".

I look to the other two (@Look to the Left) and ask again. "Really though, I someone could help me with my bike, and get me to the Library I'd really appreciate it".

Howling Wolf barks before pointing in a certain direction like a hound. "Found it! Her! Whatever!" Haido puts a fist on his open palm. This has been, like every other day, a day mostly for Orochi to stare at people.

But the stare happening in response is to Haido's latest spree of smiles and sugarcane is ...different. There's a tilt to the head. There's a curl to the lip. There's a pins-and-needles sensation. Less like static, more like the barely-living butterfly that's been saved from the press of glass. There's something to this stare that could kill a cat. Something curious, to pin it in place of the butterfly.

Orochi looked at Haido for a good twenty seconds.

"Why are you so inordinately fond of me?"

The forest spreads, inching deeper into the town called Morioh. In the place where the pines first appeared, there is not a single sign of civilization left, only the silence and the trees.

"Why are you so inordinately fond of me?"
"Why...?" Haido's smile dims visibly as he crosses his arms. "I would not say I am fond of you. It's just...all of my friends are on the other side of the ocean. And I thought you were interesting Orochi-san. Then I found out you were a [Spirit User]. Like I said, you were the second one I met."

Haido's Spirit looks at the two boys before turning back to point at the target. "I possessed Howling Wolf since I was little. Honestly, at the time I thought he was the ghost of my old dog Wolf, returned from the afterlife to protect me." He chuckles. "Then when I moved oversea I meet another Spirit User, who told me that Spirits are in truth a form of psychic power. So if you ask why I want to stick around you..." He scratches his head while looking away, almost in embarrassment. "Well, it's because I can relate with you and vice versa. As fellow [Spirit Users]."

"Well, it's because I can relate with you and vice versa. As fellow [Spirit Users]."

The good news was, there was no silence this time - the way Orochi pinched the bridge of his nose spoke volumes.

And then Orochi's Stand interjected, the image of her fluttering into existence like butterflies through a kitchen window. "Haido, I understand the concept of your loneliness, if not its taste and texture, and, I'll admit, I'm flattered by your interest. For someone who claims - and has proven - to have poor eyesight, at least you're capable of recognizing a masterpiece when you see it. Your ability to do so is rarer than you may believe. But I want you to take a very close look at my ... [Spirit]."

Call Off Your Ghost, a humanoid, waved at the young man. She was wearing a red dress, and looked more painting than person - something cubist, probably, gritty, almost crayon in its brushstrokes. Her hair was still white, and long and flowing, and her face was the same as it's always been: an American Novel given life. If one were to look really closely, then perhaps (perhaps) there was the suggestion of stardust on her skin.

"What part of her is relatable to your Howling - pardon me, [Howling Wolf]? Aside from the fact that she is a [Spirit]?" At these words, Orochi's face twisted, as though around something distasteful. Rotted, even. "And to put the cap on the jar of stinking urine, what type and portion of drugs did you have to imbibe to make someone like me seem relatable to somebody like y-"

"Back off! Now!"

Like scratching a needle cross a record - and then hearing the music switch genres - Orochi pushed Haido away from the locker, and stood in between the two, CoYG at his side.

Only to stop when a nearby locker starts experiencing a [bizarre] series of changes. "Be careful!" Haido says as the same time as Orochi, while stepping away and pulling the redhead boy back with him, Howling Wolf moving in front of them.

The end result is both boys standing shoulder to shoulder, CoYG next to Orochi and HW standing in front of all three.

"...Well, Orochi-san." Even while staring intently at the locker Haido turns into a smile: a simple, small one. "Judging our immediate reaction to danger was the same, protecting the other one, I believe we have something in common. Even if we're not friends yet, I believe we can be."

Haido then focus HW's hearing on the locker, using the sounds produced by whatever is inside to map shapes as a form of echolocation.

Still the only thing that happened was that the locker continued to clack inside.

The look Orochi gave Haido could freeze fire and then hang it on the wall as housing decoration. "Hush." He gave the command antithetical to Haido's entire being like he was telling him to make some scrambled eggs.

Haido frowns. "Howling Wolf only hear the clanking. That means...whatever it's inside, sound waves don't travel through it. It must be another [Spirit!]"

Orochi breathed in through his nose. At some point, he quite possibly exhaled.

"As much like glue as you'd like to be - and call me rubber all you like, but I'm trying to be tactical here - it seems you'll need to play the part of the lone wolf for a little while. We have two problems to deal with and just as many bodies to spare. Splitting up is necessary." Head tilting to the side, Orochi cracked his neck. "Poisonous pick. Stay or go, Haido-san?"

Haido mimics the act of zipping shut his limbs, though internally he is snickering. 'I am not so easy to get rid of!'

If Orochi isn't going to be social, he will cover his share too!

"Uhm..." Haido begins to think before coming to a decision. "As much as it pains me to leave you alone, I will go investigate those trees. I have two reasons: I can scan a large area with Howling Wolf's hearing, and I need to stop them before they transform the whole Morioh into a jungle!"

He looks at the other boy. "Do you know of any other Spirit User living in Morioh? I could use their help."

Regardless of whatever Orochi's answer is Haido then leaves the school. Once outside he begins to ask around to find where exactly in the city those trees are growing.

"I want you to imagine a high-schooler shaped like a gaudy battering ram. If you see anyone vaguely similar to what you're imagining, they have the power to fix everything except their fashion sense. I don't know them personally, and I am positive my life is all the better for it. " Orochi edged closer to the locker as he spoke, CoYG moving almost perpendicular to his approach. "Now scamper, and deforest. We've both got territory to mark."

At the last word, CoYG rushed in and threw the locker door open before disappearing. Orochi took just enough time to look at what was inside before dodging out of direct line-of-sight with whatever it was.
