Indivisible

Odds on Mystery Anime Studio being Trigger?

BONES is equally valid, honestly. They've collaborated a lot with western corporations in projects like Heroman, and more recently Space Dandy. Bahi JD (a former animator for L0) also does work for BONES, so there's that, too. Given that a good portion of Lab Zero are noted Trigger marks, though, I'm leaning heavily towards them.

Anyways, that's it! 1.8 million, just shy of the 1.9 million needed to secure that fabled anime opening. It's basically guaranteed to happen sooner or later, given how close we are. VO is a little shakier, but I still think we can knock that out over the course of the year too.

Also, Annie hype. :V

Very good. It's either them or BONES, given ravidrath's "what? pshaw" post on SA.

Bones would be cool too.

double posting to show a small but important update zone made to his celebratory flash :V

I did a little research on this ZONE person and apparently she's a woman. Not that there's any pictures of her or anything but almost every source I found explicitly stated that she was female. TMYK I guess.

Can you link these sources? Because Zone refers to both the creator and the female mascot.

Zone is a dude. Zone-tan is a female.

Whoever they are, they just seem to be running on the "makes porn, therefore dude" assumption and don't actually know for sure...the guy speaking actually says "He's a very sweet person. Or she." at 2:06 - 2:10.

As for sources, Know Your Meme's page states it pretty directly but doesn't provide any source for that info. ZONE's Newgrounds page has gender listed as "Unspecified". So I guess I'll revise the statement from "ZONE is a woman" to "ZONE's gender is unknown and they're being very careful to keep it that way, but there's a lot of vague hearsay pointing towards 'female'."

I mean, if you consider Know Your Meme to be more credible than other people who know the guy, sure, but whatever.

Anyways, the new incarnation...'s art has been revealed. Story and name to come later.

Super Sonic Speed of Sound confirmed for Smash

In fairness, I don't believe any of the VAs actually know ZONE personally. I'm not sure the majority of Lab Zero itself does, either.

Update: Funding has obviously slowed down quite a bit since the end of the main campaign, but we're finally closing in on that $1.9 million stretch goal--less than $1500 to go! Hopefully it won't be long before LZ pulls the trigger on revealing the Mystery Anime Studio. :p

Depending on when the InDemand campaign shuts down, the multiple endings/bonus dungeon goal is looking like a pretty long shot. I'm not sure about the full voice-acting one; at the current pace it'd take quite a while to raise another 150k, but it's still possible. Though honestly, unless the script and VAing are absolutely stellar I doubt I'd miss it too much.

Plague of Gripes won the poll to get his version of Zubaz into the game too. :p

I don't see why that would be such a bad thing. They have access to a number of very talented animators.
"They have access to talented animators" is not the same thing as "make high quality visuals". Don't know if you've noticed, but Toei animation's recent works have all been subpar, especially when you consider the amount of resources they have at their disposal.

Shingo Fujii the god.

While I do think Toei hasn't exactly undeservedly earned its' reputation for inconsistent production quality, it's absolutely true there are tons of extremely talented animators they have on hand, that they utilize them a lot, and they've churned out some of the biggest and brightest directors today (Matsumoto and Hosoda are two). And like, at the end of the day, this will be a maybe 90-120 second game opening, and everything about the (pre) production and the money used to create it will have been set and agreed upon years ahead of schedule. I struggle to think of any studio (yes, even the ones you're thinking of) who couldn't produce something at the very least above-average in quality given all of that.

And it's not like Lab Zero, a team full of its' own extremely talented animators, wouldn't have their own expectations for the final product as well. So it's like, whoever they announce as their partner, it's probably going to be fine.

Thinking on it, I do hope it's Studio BONES, though. It'd be a cool opportunity for Bahi JD to come back to add his mark to Lab Zero's latest game, given his previous work with the team in animating Double from Skullgirls.

That's exactly the thing. Unless the opening video to Indivisible is going to play out on a weekly basis for an entire year, a comparison to a television show is basically meaningless. Television has enormous difficulties that aren't faced by a one off short product.

Who wants another Incarnation reveal?

Is it you, thread? I'm pretty sure its you. Merry Christmas!
