The Free House at World's End is from "The Sandman Presents: Furies." by genius writer Mike Carey. The Missing Endless plot-line and what comes after will feature characters from a a variety of Vertigo/DC titles including Lucifer, Hellblazer and more.
Incidentally the items of Desire are drawn from existing things in the DC Universe, though explained and built on to a greater extent.

Okay writing your response now. The Free House segment of the dialogue will involve you in some sort of challenge or game with a patron for the Information Death is after. Who and what form of contest will be decided by dice rolls.
I am going to bed soon so I will likely be posting the full piece tomorrow.
Just about done your piece. I have been rereading the relevant series of comics and coming up with a list of possible characters you could run into at the free house, all tied into various plot threads active in the wider setting. In the end I ended with 6 characters I would be happy exploring ranked in order of danger with 6 being the worst of the lot. To put it in perspective number 5 is The Corinthian.
(Incidentally did you now that everyone's favorite eye eating, serial killer inspiring nightmare had some very interesting history with John Constantine's great, great uncle? I kid you not, its center stage in The Sandman Presents: The Corinthian)
The dice landed on 3, the character who by some strange coincidence I had just been reading about.

I didn't know that, actually. I just knew that the Constantines have a history with the Endless, or at the very least Dream.

It does seem to be a recurring theme for that family.
Actually 6 was the fallen Angel Sandalphon from Lucifer the comic, a mad scientist type who is trying to create angels artificially via mixing Angel and human lines. As the worst option he would have been very interested getting his hands on Krptonian genetic material for said experiments.

Fun fact I didn't automatically think of Raven and her mirror when I was coming up with Desire's items. I decided to take inspiration from the three sacred treasures of Japan and so I started looking for existing Sword/Mirror/Stone artefacts I could repurpose.
Only later did it occur that I knew of one magic mirror active in my setting and that using a Teen Titan artefact played off wonderfully with The Sword of Beowulf (Young Justice) being Desire's blade and The Stone (Spoilers).
While I am not in the habit of spoiling future plot threads I will say that Desire's questline is a mirror, heh, to the opening story of classic Sandman so you are liable to end up being dragged along as a weakened Desire hunts down the items and those that think to wield them.
I don't think anyone is going to guess what the Stone is but if someone does manage I will think up a bonus of some sort.

Is the stone the Dreamstone possessed by Dream of the Endless and stolen by Dr Destiny?
Nope the Dreamstone is Dream's item of power, Desire's stone is something completely different. On the plus side due to ripple effects Dr Destiny didn't get his hands on something charged with the power of an Endless.
