[X] A jet-black scythe, with a wildly spinning clock where the haft meets the blade (The Thirteenth Toll)
[X] Rescuing Yosuke and the colorful creature

[X] A cross-shaped mace with a skull on the head, wearing a crown of thorns (Penitence)
[X] Rescuing Yosuke and the colorful creature
Edit: Now that I think about it, I feel like skullbro is a fitting start considering how Lob corp starts.

Let's use appropriate force for now. Either way shadows are creatures of the mind so white damage should be effective.

One Sin is best, as always.

We rescue a bro with the weapon of another bro.

While I personally believe any of the tools we choose would do fine. Having Hokma pull out the scythe as his first introduction is just too cool.

Though saying that...Are you guys sure we should use a weapon that has the chance to literally instantly kill people on these Shadows?

Wouldn't Pale damage instantly delete a person's soul based on what Shadows are?

I'm pretty sure that most shadows are more constructs of humanity's thoughts in general, rather than being from a specific person, those seem to only manifest under unusual circumstances, though that's just my observations from watching playthroughs of 4 and 5.

I see. In that case, we should be safe then.

Don't know whether Penitence or Thirteenth Toll would be better, due to the former's mental healing nature and the latter's instant death-dealing power.

But for now, since the goal is to save the kids, the latter is better. We can test Penitence's power later.

Your indecision lasts only a moment. Putting your weight behind it, you slowly push your hand into the screen, feeling as if you are straining against a fleshy membrane. You are briefly startled as you feel a pull on your arm and turn around to see Chie clinging to your side with a determined look on her face. For a moment, you consider making her stay for her own safety, but you have to little information to go on, and she is the only source you have. Moreover, her expression tells you she will not allow herself to be left behind a second time. So instead, you meet her gaze evenly, and give her a curt nod. Turning back to the TV, you bring your foot forward, and push with all your might. The tension breaks, there is a flash of light, and you both tumble through the threshold.
Yeah, Chie was never going to let this go. If she knew we could go through and left her behind or do nothing she would never forgive us.

You are falling. You have only a few seconds to react before your feet meet a hard surface, but you manage to turn your momentum into an awkward roll, bleeding away most of it. You straighten up to see Chie land much more nimbly beside you, and you take a moment to examine your surroundings.
Better first landing than most people!

The briefcase at your side pulses softly, like a beating heart, and the fog seems to ripple in time with it.
The Abnormalities are extracted from the Collective Unconsciousness, right?

So maybe entering the TV World is like coming home.

Again, she gives you an awkward look as if she expects you to mock her or call her crazy. In a different situation, you might be tempted to do so, but given where you are and what you are seeing, you have no choice but to discard your preconceptions and take events as they come. So you nod along with her explanation as you continue to look around you. "I see. What happened next?"
"Child I was continually killed and stuffed in a box for 10000 years and turned into a clock, you cannot fathom the depths of absurdity I have witnessed."
Pitch black masses of shadow crawl and slither around the empty town, dragging themselves forward with clawed fingers and staring at the blinking streetlights with empty masks that float up to the surface. They vary greatly in size, and where the floating pages land, they quickly gather around them and bask in their glow, like moths to the flame.
Ah crap they're eating the pages.
Are the pages just Light, or is it also Abno residue or something? Are we gonna get Shadows based on Burrowing Heaven and Blue Star?

We could try going around them?" you hear Chie say from behind you, and you turn around. "We are in the commercial district right? It's not exactly the same, but I know my way around town. There's lots of alleyways we can take to avoid them."
Guess if we left her behind we would have to fight through them. Good job Chie.

Through the slightly-thinner fog, you can see a panting Yosuke, frantically waving a golf club around as he tries to fend off a trio of floating, bulbous creatures with large human mouths and long, slobbering tongues. Looking past him, you spot a round, colorful silhouette cowering behind him
Uh, that's different.

You cast your eyes around for the other boy, but quickly find him as there is a crackling sound and a huge, lumbering creature bursts out of one of the stores, reducing the front of the liquor store to dust and scattering bricks and splinters across the street.
THAT'S REALLY DIFFERENT.
What changed-
The pages. The pages that attracted the Shadows and might be feeding them. The pages that came from our briefcase because we came in the TV World.

Okay so we have two of Lickitung's mutated cousins coming for us, one still against Yousuke and Teddie, and more incoming.

Also Yu is fighting Shadow Yousuke who might be powered up, but he's probably fine.

Tutorial time for tutorial weapon.

Because there's no better way than teaching religion than smacking some fool upside the head with it.

Also consider this. Penitence has a Mass Attack with healing and we are fighting a swarm of weak enemies. Our danger mainly lies in being overwhelmed by sheer numbers than a singular strong enemy. We need area attacks over high damage. Also it's early game and no one has a healing spell.

That is true...

In that true. I forgot that we are dealing with a swarm here and not just a single tough enemy.

Technically speaking, we don't know if we have access to the Mass Attacks right off the bat. Abnormality E.G.O. is influenced a lot by the person who extracts it, and the LobCorp version definitely wasn't any kind of Mass Attack.

Still, having any kind of healing would go a long way to making Hokma irreplaceable to the fledgling group.
