In Pursuit of Ego, a Persona 4 and Project Moon Quest

What I know of 2 is that this is the one with the biggest implications for all the persona series and actually explains what the velvet room is and who's Igor's boss, he's named Philemon and his main enemy is Nyarlathotep, who is the father of all shadows, I think.
If you have a few hours:

Persona lore gets a little wild.

He's also got videos on Persona 1 if you're interested.

Isn't Nyarlathotep the worse and most sadistic of all outer gods?

Like, he's LITERALLY the thing that gave birth to the concepts like EVIL, SADISM, etc. I'm pretty sure he's, Actually Satan, but Outer God.

a foggy limousine ride...Uncertainty of the future and a way to shield himself away from the outside world, Running away from something, reaching for a destination cannot be seen, wishing for luxury?
Again merely a speculation, haven't even finished the first dungeon.

From what I know, it's about the uncertainty of the future.

Persona lore gets a little wild.

I do know it's relation with shin megami tensei can lead to funny implications. And that it is far stranger than it seems on first glance, but I have to admit to not knowing that many of the details.

Funny thing: I don't remember about in the lovecraft mythos originally, but this is 100% the case in the persona universe, Nyarlathotep is Satan and Philemon is god is an easy way to describe their relationship, though it is more complicated than that from what I know.

....
Not satan but most definitely the embodiment of humanities capacity for evil
Philemon his counterpart represents the capacity for good humanity has
Makes one realize good doesn't need to do much but provide the tools and protags did the rest in beating nyars squiddy behind blacker than his own heart and how much kerfuffery it takes nyar in order to even have a remote chance at winning
Definitely an interesting statement

What I know of 3 is that the protag is basically Jesus, the velvet room is an elevator and Elizabeth is best girl.
IIRC 3 is effectively (Spoiler'd in case anyone cares about the deep lore of a...what 10 year old game??) "Cult started a death ritual, someone tried to stop it, sealed the Great Evil in the protag as a childe, and now years later the protag has to finish stopping the great evil death ritual." Lots of death themes with that one. Everyone who gets a persona puts a fake gun thing to their head to pull 'em out for combat, tragic backstories are all over the place... I think one of the girls is a soul-powered robot or something???

On the topic of The Velvet Room, tho... Someone actually did a very cool indepth analysis of the whole thing. I'll link the video now!

Havoc did a good explanation, but Aigis isn't soul powered, more like "has a soul"(???). Explicitly designed with a sense of self, on account of that being needed to use personas.

Come to think of it, her sister should show up around here... After we've probably already left, but still.

You about two wild cards in the party in order for other party members to use multiple persona.

For example this would be Nanjo, Elly, and Brown who join at least in one route in one.

Yeah, after searching a little more, it seems to be a thing about Wild cards and not the fool arcana, but most wild cards are associated with it anyway, hence my confusion.

And I heard Persona 1 canonicity is not really completely a sure thing so... things in it are to be taken with some distance, I think.

Revelations: Persona fits mostly OK with Persona 2 Innocent Sin and Persona 2 Eternal Punishment. Certainly, the ambience lines up.

Persona 3 and its sequels are very strikingly a different series, even if they share elements like the Tarot-based classification that leans into demons' themes and attributes rather than their basic natures.

I it's because the people who worked on the first Three games left Atlus during the 10 hiatus. And I believe Japanese copyright keeps then from using too much of first trilogy without rehiring them.

Persona time! Happy to see a persona quest here, don't know that much about project moon though. I'll figure it out along the way.
