Added a little bit about the whole no-pants thing.
FYI, updated my post a little bit ago. Most recent one of course.
OH GOD IT'S LIKE THE THING ALL OVER AGAINIt was almost a day later, and Rhett continued to listen to her observer relay all that happened around her. After caging her, the figures had continued to fiddle with some boxes before most of them had left, but not all. Three remained, two watching her and her [friends] and a third who would circle around, looking for any movement. Every few minutes, three new guards would come in and relieve the old ones, so that they were always fresh and alert. Rhett hoped that their precautions made them feel at ease.
One strange thing they had done was bring in a small animal that was also in a cage, though this one was of metal rather than energy. It had been provided food and water, but otherwise seemed to be ignored. Rhett wasn't sure what to make of this, but her best guess was so she wouldn't feel lonely and out of place. They didn't know she had [friends] with her after all, and it would be depressing to be the only one in a cage, right?
Their thoughtfulness made Rhett even more eager to begin [befriending] them, but she had forced herself to show restraint. Her body hadn't been grown at that point, but it was just finishing now. It was fairly accurate, a gestalt of several samples of DNA. While the energy cage quite effectively kept her from leaving, it didn't keep her from interacting, after all, this box was grown by a [friend]. Her modification specialist easily thrust tendrils through the floor, where they bypassed the energy cage and emerged, slowly, ever so slowly, on the other side, touching handles on the rods that emitted the cage and on the boxes they had brought in. There hadn't been much, and it had taken awhile to sort out DNA that belonged to a creature big enough and the right shape to be the figures, but it had worked. And by concealing her [friend's] movements in the floor, and moving slowly so as to not startle the figures, she was sure they'd be properly surprised!
"It time!" she thought, and the modification specialist obligingly began to split open. It took a few moments, but then the figures began to react, sending waves of energy out from their heads, but Rhett was too busy to take much notice. She uncurled her new body, slowly standing, and she opened her new eyes to take a look at the figures for herself. Their carapaces seemed dark and menacing, obscured by the hazy glow of the energy field that continued to cage her in, but she was sure they looked nice enough underneath. After all, she looked just like them now.
She touched a hand to lightly touch the observer, who had already begun unraveling from around the modification specialist, and began to twist its vines around her. The specialist was abandoning his old form, having emptied most of his biomass reserves, he attached himself to her back with what remained in case further modifications were needed, two tentacles going over her shoulders to secure himself. She bent down and picked up her communicator, who was still sleeping, and placed his crystalline form upon her head so she wouldn't have to carry it in her hands.
Satisfied that she had all of her [friends] with her, she took a step forward, out of the remains of the specialist's former body. There were suddenly many more figures in the room, and they all seemed quite tense. Rhett couldn't make out the sounds with her new ears, but she could tell the figures were saying something quite loudly through the vibrations in the floor. Slowly, so as to not startle them, she raised a hand and they fell silent, watching her closely.
She wiggled her three fingers at them in greeting.
My room mate made me watch it. NEVER AGAIN
1982 version. The remake/prequel or John Carpenter's 1982 version? Anyways, next snippet you'll start getting Pod People/The Puppet Masters vibes, just to warn you.
*headpats*
Heh.Attempting to befriend Samantha will be almost impossible. The [friendship] reminds her too much of the horrors on Ultimar and Rachnoch.
I say almost because Ice is one heck of a lewd girl.
It's a amazing movie, it just freaked me out. A lot. Especially the part with that one guy's head coming off and running away.John Carpenter's the Thing is a Great Movie. I got that vibe when he proposed the Civ, which is one of the reasons I am so opposed to him. . .

So, what would happen if the Uelewa ended up merging with the Genorachians?I'm guessing you're talking about how even the thing's blood is it's own organism? Fortunately, the Uelewa are not like that.
Which isn't something you have to worry about. Well...I mean, if multiple Uelewa went into one combat form, and you killed most of them, but one survived, it could probably run away, but that's about all it could do. Run away. It can't grow biomass from nothing, and I've taken pains to show their shape shifting is something that takes time (and energy) to do. Additionally, the Uelewa give off a distinct energy signature once you know what you are looking for, so even if a few escaped into the bowels of a ship, you'd be able to hunt them down with a little effort (and it also takes the paranoia about infiltrators down a notch. Once you've figured out how to scan for it, it isn't a problem anymore. Of course, the trick is figuring out you need to scan for it, and how to scan for it, but that shouldn't be a problem for the PC races. NPC races? No comment. ).
So, what would happen if the Uelewa ended up merging with the Genorachians?
They're not as intelligent as the Queens, but they do have the ability to make their own decisions. Usually, they just listen to their Queens, but sometimes they change hives because they want something different from the usual. The brutes are about the same, but they usually make choices on what to do during their free time. The Asgardians would nuke the depleted survivors, I would reckon.
A few questions though...how sentient are the worker/brute castes of Genorachians? They are loyal to their Queen, but is that a choice, or are they more like extensions of the Queens?

How is my race the worst to make first contact with?Well, peaceful contact isn't impossible then, but the Genorachians are up there with the Mechions for potentially worst first contacts from the [Friendship] side of things. It really depends on the circumstances of meeting the Mechions, really.
Wait, what about my Chibis?Well, peaceful contact isn't impossible then, but the Genorachians are up there with the Mechions for potentially worst first contacts from the [Friendship] side of things. It really depends on the circumstances of meeting the Mechions, really.
Chibi Marine: OMG MOAR XENOMORPHS! KILL DEM ALL!!!!
Maybe~
And the Bunny's?Sentient robots and Synthetic lifeforms are not things the [Friendship] have encountered before, nor do they understand their potential existence. So...uh, things might go poorly, depending on a few factors (including a dice role to see if [redacted]). A neutral result would be that they act as if the Mechion are not even there, due to not detecting any organisms and how the Uelewa rely less on rare metals and resources (so they wouldn't want to recycle your ships very much).
No deviations from standard [befriending] practices are expected. How the Chibis will feel about this, I cannot say.
