Alrighty, so I'm gonna leave the starters behind the curtain until the vote locks, but here's what each of the two leading votes would give for the other 2(or 3 if Blasting off again wins) in your starting team presented in the order your dad gave them to you.
Random aside, some good guesses from Erebeal.
On the topic of guesses, I'm gonna be pretty tight regarding what a dog is for the starters. What I'll be loose with is how well your education cross-polinates. Vulpix and Eevee aren't starter options for Fang, but if you know how to take care of a dog you have a head start on how to take care of a fox or weird undefined dog/cat thing.
Anyway here are the teams. You've had the first one from this list for almost as long as you've had your "starter", about two years, you got the second one last year, and the third one(if and only if Blasting off again wins) for a few months.
Farm- This team was built by Deere for versatility and area control.
Bibarel(Water/Normal Beaver): The second pokemon your dad ever gave you was a Bidoof. When asked why he chose it, he said that it was damn useful and if he had his way every twelve year old in the country would be holding a Bidoof right now. He then went on to rant about how better the world would be if everyone knew Strength, Cut, and Surf but you had already left the room.
Mudbray(Ground Donkey, will evolve into Ground Horse)
Skiddo (Grass Goat)
Fang- This team was built by Ruff to to chase problems down and Bite them until they stop being problems.
Herdier(Normal doggo): The second pokemon your dad ever gave you was a Lilliput. When asked why he chose it, he looked off into the distance and said that he wished he knew Retaliate the first time one of his dogs got hurt in a fight.
Poochyena(Dark Doggo)
Poochyena(Dark Doggo)
Farm is a substantially more diverse team than Fang, especially if blasting off again wins or you pick one of the two novel Types from the Starter. This means you'll have more diverse abilities yourself, and in fights can do standard type advantage swap-outs and such.
Fang is substantially more focused than Farm, especially if you pick the Dark starter next vote. This means that you'll personally be way better at Dark on Fang then you would be with Grass/Water/Ground on Farm.
