I Want To Be Unequaled Under Heaven, Like No One Ever Was (Cultivation-Pokemon Fic)

Faction Snippet 1: The Sisterhood of Eternal Joy
I'm gonna write up common knowledge of groups in the setting as I think of them.

This is not ordered by influence or significance, if it was then Snippet 1 would definitely be The Pokemon League or one of the local Teams or Clans.

The Sisterhood of Eternal Joy
-The Sisters of Joy are a worldspanning monastic organization which exists to relieve suffering and promote wellbeing wherever they operate. They do not meddle in politics or other worldly affairs, but instead through direct action feed the hungry, teach the ignorant, shelter the exposed, and most famously heal the sick. They can be recognized by their white robes and the ever present Chansey by their sides. They are one of the very few Major Sects which survived the formation of The Pokemon League, and are viewed with scorn by the Teams. From the perspective of the Teams, who view themselves as the successors of the Sects that were purged by the First Champion, the Sisters are viewed as traitors to the old order. From the perspective of the Sisters the Teams and Sects are merely part of The World they exist apart from. Promises made yesterday are merely words, but the Most Good to the Most People is the Whole of the Law.

Kinda confused here by the term teams, do you mean people like team rocket or is teams the term for the trainers under the current league . Also your missing a *the *before old order

[X][Gym] The Plow Badge
[X][PLOT]: Blasting Off Again

So, Plow Badge is interesting because we can guess that one of our two secondary pokemon will be a water type, since that's the only way we can be guaranteed to have a near-surf-capable pokemon.

Question is what would it be? Most water types are really more ocean going, or not suited to surfing like Wingull or Panpour. There also aren't really any particularly farm-like water types... though I guess maybe slowpoke could be valid since slowpoke tail is apparently a delicacy in the pokemon world? Though that was also an illegal poaching operation so not sure about the legalities there... Maybe a Biberal since one of our dad's feats there was dealing with flooding and they are beavers?

I dunno, Bibarel can also learn Surf, right? But tbh, I prefer the Dock Badge, but since quite a few have gone towards Plow, I might as well go for it too.

... Plus, a Pokemon Trainer who's also more physically built appeals to me more than the others. Wouldn't mind a Farmer Boi even if Milo technically already counts as one in canon Pokemon.

Interesting to see pokemon guesses on the different votes.

Looks like Gym is tied up between Fang and Farm, with "Blasting Off Again" winning for the initial plot.

Vote will lock at 2pm est if there's not a tie, otherwise I'm flipping a coin at 630 est.

To help nudge the tie, I'll be revealing some of the 'Mons given by each start in a bit when I get home.

Alrighty, so I'm gonna leave the starters behind the curtain until the vote locks, but here's what each of the two leading votes would give for the other 2(or 3 if Blasting off again wins) in your starting team presented in the order your dad gave them to you.

Random aside, some good guesses from Erebeal.

On the topic of guesses, I'm gonna be pretty tight regarding what a dog is for the starters. What I'll be loose with is how well your education cross-polinates. Vulpix and Eevee aren't starter options for Fang, but if you know how to take care of a dog you have a head start on how to take care of a fox or weird undefined dog/cat thing.

Anyway here are the teams. You've had the first one from this list for almost as long as you've had your "starter", about two years, you got the second one last year, and the third one(if and only if Blasting off again wins) for a few months.

Farm- This team was built by Deere for versatility and area control.
Bibarel(Water/Normal Beaver): The second pokemon your dad ever gave you was a Bidoof. When asked why he chose it, he said that it was damn useful and if he had his way every twelve year old in the country would be holding a Bidoof right now. He then went on to rant about how better the world would be if everyone knew Strength, Cut, and Surf but you had already left the room.
Mudbray(Ground Donkey, will evolve into Ground Horse)
Skiddo (Grass Goat)

Fang- This team was built by Ruff to to chase problems down and Bite them until they stop being problems.
Herdier(Normal doggo): The second pokemon your dad ever gave you was a Lilliput. When asked why he chose it, he looked off into the distance and said that he wished he knew Retaliate the first time one of his dogs got hurt in a fight.
Poochyena(Dark Doggo)
Poochyena(Dark Doggo)

Farm is a substantially more diverse team than Fang, especially if blasting off again wins or you pick one of the two novel Types from the Starter. This means you'll have more diverse abilities yourself, and in fights can do standard type advantage swap-outs and such.

Fang is substantially more focused than Farm, especially if you pick the Dark starter next vote. This means that you'll personally be way better at Dark on Fang then you would be with Grass/Water/Ground on Farm.

Would've thought Wooloo would be one of the Farm Badge mons.

Some of Deere's other Gym Trainers certainly have one, but because of Farm's meta-position as the "starting team with variable Types" I had to nix it from the team to fit non-normies in.

Sheep fans can feel free to vote Farm and wait for the starter vote though. Guaranteed Sheep Action.

One hour warning.

Looks like Gym has Plow leading Fang by 1, and PLOT is tied between He Needed Me and Blasting Off Again.

If there is no tie at 2p est, the vote will lock, otherwise I'll lock it whenever I come in and see there's no longer a tie.

Worst case scenario I'll do a tie breaker when I get off work so I can try to have the next vote up tonight.

Vote Locked
Vote is Locked, winners are Plow and He Needed Me.

You have a Bibarel and a Mudbray, and two decisions to make.

Hope to get the update out tonight.
