I'll vote later (I should be in a hurry) but in terms of fight scenes:

Fights never really interest me, when I read quests or stories. If I wanted to enjoy a good fight scene, I'd watch a movie or an anime where I can see it in real time.

I read books because I'm interested in characters and the world they inhabit. Fight scenes are something I grudgingly tolerate rather than enjoy, something I'm forced to read through (or more likely, skim) so that I don't miss anything that'd affect the characters after the battle.

I might be alone, but I think I'd like less detailed fights myself. It means that less of the story is devoted to how Elsa defeats her foes, and more is devoted to what happens afterwards.

Unfortunately it sounds like what you are looking for is more along the lines of the Man and Beast difficulty, where everything was more narrative. Sure, there'd still be fight scenes, but greater care would have been taken to the actual story rather than the combat.

Here, on Angels and Demons, combat is a fairly important aspect of the reality you live in now.

Also, fuck, I just realized I haven't finished updating Elsa's character sheet.

I need to do that.

But I'm also tired as fuck, so I'll do it in the morning.

That went pretty good.

I liked the fight overall. Also, I did not realize just how dangerous even the prologue would be, glad we rolled as well as we did.

Were you rolling for how fast fast Elsa could intercede with her magic during the assassin fights? Because it kind of felt a little cliche that all the guards just died like chumps while Elsa watched on.

Loved all that, awesome update. I thought it was a good amount of detail to be honest and damn, did the mum get lucky or what? Also happy to see Anna so accepting of our murderous tendencies. We did great before getting shot!

Should we be voting in plans or will you just take votes by line? I'm not usually one for numbers in quests so I'll have to come back to this when there are a few more arguments to read.

Father faces death itself while Mother is was in jeopardy.
A man, wearing elegant black and gold clothes with red highlights, pales skin, and golden blonde hair, appears just before a column
'pale', 'blond'
The Assassin struggles on the shaft, as if still alive despite his intestines wrapped around the shaft.
'is'
You'd just killed a man. Not on accident, not by mistake, but out of hate. You wanted him to die, so you killed him. He dared approached your dearest sister, and you Devoured him for it.

And Anna watched you do it.

She stood not even a meter away as you ripped a man to pieces and ate him.

Relationship with Anna greatly improved
...taking notes. :V

Overall, I think the characters interactions interest me much more than fights, and the gory details of broken bones and wrenched guts don't interest me at all.

It might be a little cliché, but I think we're supposed to get that these assassins were super fast and it was all she could do to try and keep up with the fight. No one but the Hero unit from Solgren could effectively fight them. Any hit she did land on them was when they were distracted. That and Elsa isn't perfect with her aim yet (as proved with how she just tried to slow one down from killing her dad and ended up killing him instead) so she probably didn't want to risk a misfire until she really had no other choice but try or watch one of her family members die.

I should clarify: Fights are awesome. Fight SCENES bore me.

The combat itself is fine. I love seeing the dice rolls, even if I skim everything surrounding them. Seeing a nat 1 or a nat 100 or a bare success/failure can be more exciting than reading about how someone manages to dodge out of the way of an arrow by a hair's breadth, because it's quantified and obvious exactly how close you were to failure or how well you succeeded.

It also allows players to make better informed choices, since depending on your strength or speed or magical prowess we may decide to do something, and that makes it incredibly engaging.

What I tend to dislike/skim is heavy descriptions of combat. The choreography. The exact movements of various characters as they perform doubtless badass feats which are effectively white squiggles on a black screen for all I care. A simple 'he deftly escaped his pursuers and hid in a cart) is much more engaging than a two-paragraph description of someone throwing sand in his opponent's eyes, barely dodging a swipe in his direction, pushing one pursuer into the blind pursuer, and hiding in the confusion.

Again, though, this is just me, and I'm probably in the minority.

Now, for voting:
[X] Who are you?
[X] Why do I have these powers?
[X]What do you know about the people who wanted to kidnap me?
[X] Intelligence +1, Magic +2
[X] Weather Level 2

I left the third one blank since I don't really know what to vote for, there. I'd actually vote to ask for something after getting the first two questions answered if possible - asking 'why do I have these powers' can imply some things so that we don't have to ask 'why did you pursue me', while asking how to best protect our family takes agency away from us, sorta. We shouldn't ask for advice from a random weirdo that talks to us in our dreams.

As for the stats:
Since we get a *2 bonus (or +100% bonus) for intelligence, I vote we increase that at least by one. Play to our strengths, maximize the benefit of each stat point, y'know? It's also important since if we're intelligent Elsa might have a better handle of her own strength, or at least how to not do stupid things that might get her family killed while practicing her powers.

At the same time, I think increasing magic (which is our most most important stat) needs to be prioritized, since I doubt we'll ever get strength or even dex up to a point where they can protect us better than magic can. Just keep increasing magic until we're so munchkin'd out that nobody will be able to get past us.

The weather thing I'm voting for because it can be useful to society. Assuming we're eventually able to graduate to making it rain or removing snow/hail, we could improve farming prospects. And I'm sure there's other stuff we could do. It's weather, it's such a large thing to influence that I think it's the best thing we can improve on a level up!

EDIT: Added a third question.

I'm really tired right now, so I'll probably have more to say in the morning, but why didn't this have a critical roll (or exploding dice or whatever it's called). If there was no better tier, making the extra roll pointless, then why was it a Bare Pass?
IIRC Critical rolls are not for rolls above 100. They're for "Exceeds difficulty by large(50?) amount".

This is in order to avoid the scenario where it's easier to crit a task than to pass it when your modifier and the difficulty goes to large numbers

Three questions:
[X] Do you know who wanted to kidnap me?
Background of the cultists is nice to know. We can look for them later on and make them our vassals?
[X] Can you help me control my Hunger?
Maybe someone telling Elsa that she just has to get used to eating humans will lead to acceptance and stability (less sanity loss?).
[X] Will you enter an alliance with me?
The Raven seems strong. More allies means better chance of survival.

[X] Ice Spike Level 2
We defeated all our enemies with the ice spikes. People can put drinks near to cool them too. Really useful!

Love's Last Chance means that anyone wanting to beat us has to separate us from Anna first? Nice idea. Buff stacking also means that we have to find a way to clone Anna! ("Relationship buffs stack with the more loved ones near you.")

I liked the fight scenes. Though I ask myself why we have guards at all, when one hero/assassin is worth 20 (or more) of the normal humans.

Oooh, I like this question! Though it ought to be reworded as "What do you know about the people who kidnapped me?", since we don't know if this guy is like a trickster type individual. For all we know, he'll be content with answering 'yes', or giving us a name and nothing else.

With the other questions, the problem is that if he answers 'no' to either of the questions, or 'yes' but doesn't actually do it, we just wasted that question.

Should we edit prior votes, or make a repost? IDK how this works.
