Fair point, but at the same time it feels like a worthy trade-off for someone who owns a literal horcrux.

Eyyyy we got 7 votes in all three categories. Let's stop it here. This feels auspicious lmao

Yeah I suppose so, and upon rereading the update I misread how the Weasley Pride works, and it won't force us into fights, so I think I'm going to swap to your trait plan. I still want to go for the 9" wand for the "power without boasting about it" thing, just to rub it in the faces of all those families that spout about their blood purity at every chance they get.

Advocating for the unpicked options again: I'm surprised to see no interest in the "[] A 12¾" wand of Walnut with a dragon heartstring core. It draws from absolute devotion" wand. It is one of the more straight forward wands to figure out the owner of and fits well for those who want to become Dark Lady Ginny.

There's no formal bounty on figuring out who the wands belong to, but I'll note that they all belong to canon characters who have interesting interactions with Ginny and the Diary.

While having eidetic memory and being a natural occlument is both very cool and practical, it feels a bit boring in a narrative way to me. Just a bit too perfect in terms of mind, for an eleven years old girl. I propose having some good old "booo, dark" fun instead or pushing our family connection.

Gonna make some guesses about who owns what wand:
A 12¾" wand of Walnut with a dragon heartstring core. It draws from absolute devotion.
Definitely Bellatrix.
A runed 11" wand of Blackthorn with a dragon heartstring core. It reads "if nothing else, human."
No clue.
A 13½" wand of Yew with an unknown core. It is ancient and aristocratic.
Possibly Voldemort himself? I know his canon wand is 13" and Yew at least. The unknown core bit is throwing me off since we know his was phoenix feather. Possibly Malfoy, though I highly doubt it since he probably wasn't convicted.
A 9" wand of Apple with a phoenix feather core. It is proud, and needs not boast its power.
My gut is saying Sirius. Apple and Phoenix Feather feels too friendly for a real Death Eater.

No, idea either, but it's a pretty good assumption that they were very prejudiced against non-humans.

Maybe, but as much as he was tied to the ideas of aristocracy with the death eaters, Riddle himself doesn't particularly strike me as Aristocratic. While he is descended from the Gaunt family he's a half-blood by their own definition, and was raised in a non-magical orphanage.

I'm thinking no here. Not boasting doesn't seem like it fits with all the pranks the Marauders pulled on people.

Oo. This is a completely valid reading of the wand's inscription, but it is not the intention of the inscription. It is more of a self-deprecative message than a statement on non-human individuals.

Gonna make some guesses about who owns what wand:
You have the obvious one right. The other ones you have good ideas on, but not the correct final guess. I probably won't comment more on this until the vote's over, but I appreciate the engagement.

The vote will stay open until 2:00 PM CST (12/28/2021). From there, we'll wrap up the prologue and get on to Hogwarts.

Looked up wand woods to try and figure out the owners based on the compatible personalities described, and apparently canon!Ginny and Voldy both used Yew wands. Which makes me wanna drop the Yew one now tbh

Fair, but it makes me all the more hopeful that Apple will catch up. Just for a little bit of difference to go with the changes so far.

Also, these wand don't actually have to come from death eaters. Wizards who died in the war is the only qualifier. The reason that the Apple and Pheonix seems too happy to be from a death eater may just be that it didn't come from a death eater, but someone on the other side. If we want to not link ourselves to the death eaters, that may be the wand to go with.

Looking at it again, it seems like we have two wands from each side of the war:
On Voldemort's side we've got Bellatrix, and the aristocratic wand, which screams stuck up old pureblood family.

On the other side we've got the power without boast wand, which feels more like someone who wouldn't put too much weight in their blood, but has a long family they were proud of anyway, and the self-depreciating "human" wand which sounds like came from a muggle-born or someone who didn't have very much to them that mattered is the wizarding world.

this one is from the discription ancient so it's likely a wand passed down through a family. so it's probebly a sacred 28 pureblood who died or went to azcaban

The program, put in place by Barty Crouch Sr., is meant to re-home the wands of wizards that have died during the course of the war or to re-home the wands of individuals imprisoned on life sentences in Azkaban.
Somehow didn't see this bit. Totally thought they were all just confiscated from Azkaban. That changes things, and I'm 100% switching to Apple. Which I'm gonna guess belonged to Lily.

I honestly think it would be interesting to take the Quibbles option to see how that would go. Granted that and positive impression could be an interesting combination.

Not a fan of wanderlust since we would be staying in Hogwarts for 7 years so who knows how bad Ginny's mental health by the end of Christmas, never mind the end of the year and with Riddle's diary playing havoc with her mind unless she can do worldwide apparition in a hurry and freedom to leave which ha unlikely over her parents and teacher's objections.

According to the author (on discord) we would have opportunities to keep it in bay with stuff like trips to the forest and deep lake, the eygptian trip planned soon will also reduce it for a long time.
