Really hoping we can make Ginny into a proper dark lady, nothing builds character like trying to take over your government with force and spooky magic.

Honestly she could probably get it done via politics a lot easier.

She's got the Muggle sympathizer's and working class via her dad, and if she can bluff being Voldemort to Lucius (which shouldn't be hard as he knows about the Horcrux) she can can get the upper class and the blood purists. All she has to do is tell the Death Eaters that she's, obviously, lying to public until she is elected, and create literally any excuse for the muggle sympathizers as to why the rich folk like her (I don't know, economic policies or something.)

She doesn't have to convince everyone, just a few key figures and a good portion of the general public.

Ginny, 0.2: "Prologue"

"Prologue I"
20 August, 1992 ○ 8:01 AM GMT

The whole world is shaking. You squint down, desperate to keep your eyes closed for one more minute of sleep today, but Mum's grip is too strong to squint and squirm out of. Not that you'd be able to fall back asleep anyway.

Even as you steady yourself against her shakes, the battle is lost. The Burrow is alive with noise. Dad's shed is whirring, clacking and snapping with the excitement of pioneering another advance in the field of muggle studies. Ron is screaming, a telltale noise of morning degnoming gone wrong. You'll probably have to go join him once Mum has you up. That's worth struggling a little harder for.

Mum scowls at you, and you realize your eyes are open. She makes eye-contact with you, and you see the shadow of a smirk cross her face, before she takes on a stern expression.

"Oh honestly, Ginny, you know better than to give your mother that look. Where's all that energy from yesterday? Harry's already up," you freeze up at Mum's words, "degnoming the Garden with Ron. You better run along and—"

Fireworks go off upstairs, cutting your Mum off for a second. In that second of silence, she was already out your door, screaming so loud you wonder why she even bothers with Howlers: "FRED WEASLEY, WHEN I GET UP THERE THAT ROOM BETTER…" Mum kept yelling out her threat, but it blends in well enough with The Burrow's natural ambiance that you manage to tune it out.

You close your room's door and wait just a moment, listening through The Burrow's roar for anyone approaching. Fred's complaining upstairs that he's always the one to blame while George chimes in some nonsense about the duties of an older brother. Percy's in the kitchen, practicing his prefect entry speech. You're clear.

You pull the pillow off your bed, revealing the hiding spot for your diaries, new and old. Your new book was still there, tucked away from any prying eyes of the night. You take hold of it and feel warmth come through your fingers at the touch. You'll hold onto it today, you decide.

You put on one of Molly's hand-me-downs and grab your side-bag, tucking away your diary, a degnoming knife and a pair of schoolbooks into it. You take your wand and fiddle it between your fingers…

[] Your wand was a hand-me-down wand, like most Weasley wands.
[x] Your wand was part of the Ministry's repatriation program, a memory of past Wizarding Wars.
[] Your wand was a purchase from Olivander's, paid for by the Ministry's wand-lease program.

…before you tuck it to the woven wand-loop of your hand-me-down summer dress. Next stop, breakfast and Percy.

Character Creation: Family Ties
Character Creation: Family Ties

You are Ginny Weasley, pureblood daughter of Arthur Weasley and Molly Weasley.

Your father, Arthur, is a prominent figure inside the Ministry of Magic's Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office and one of the country's leading voices on Muggle Studies. Your mother, Molly, is an accomplished potion witch, herbologist and housewife, recognized as one of the last members of the Prewett family (a respected family of English purebloods with longstanding ties to the English military).

You are the seventh child of your family, which makes your birth one of magical significance in the traditions of European divination. Your siblings, in order of age, are Bill Weasley, a Gringotts Curse Breaker; Charlie Weasley, a Romanian Dragon Tamer; Percy Weasley, politics-minded Gryffindor Prefect; Fred and George Weasley, twin troublemakers; and Ron Weasley, local dunce. In each of them, there is a spark of something greater, an illuminating light down life's paths.

Of course, there is also your great-aunt Muriel Prewett, former correspondent of the Daily Prophet and continuing gossipmonger; and your uncles Billius Weasley (forever a bachelor) and Tristram Weasley, husband of Leonie Weasley (née Lestrange) and father of your first-cousin Mafalda Weasley, a girl even younger than you are.

Of your family, who were you closest to?

[] Your father, Arthur Weasley.
You always were Dad's girl. Like him before you, you have a more than healthy interest in muggle artefacts and sciences. You've become familiar with many of the other children of the Ministry of Magic's employees and developed an accidental acumen for politics. You know people and people know you.
Traits: Weasley, Muggle Sciences III, Artificer I, Ministry Minded, Grease Monkey, Oddball
Abilities: Transfiguration improved to P (Poor). Wandlore improved to D (Dreadful). Transfiguration set as starting Affinity and Focus.

[] Your mother, Molly Weasley.
In a house with two girls and seven men, you and Mum had to stick together to survive. You have a dominant personality, and while you come off as bold and brash, you're quickly able to learn how and why people act as they do. Though you've spent most of your life at The Burrow, it's been time well spent.
Traits: Prewett, Leadership II, Willful II, Homemaker, Insight I, Domineering I
Abilities: Potions improved to P (Poor). Herbology improved to P (Poor). Potions or Herbology may be selected as starting Affinity of Focus.

[x] Your oldest brother, Bill Weasley.
Bill Weasley is the best brother the world could offer. He brought you back relics from tombs he raided. He taught you how to work ancient runes when you still didn't have a wand. You don't see him very often, but he still writes, sometimes, and you take his word as gospel. Through his words, you've come to see a greater world.
Traits: Weasley, Ancient Runes II, Egyptian Lore I, Worldly, Imaginative, Bookworm
Abilities: Defense Against the Dark Arts improved to P (Poor). Dark Arts improved to D (Dreadful). Defense Against the Dark Arts set as starting Affinity and Focus.

[] Charlie Weasley, dragon tamer.
Your other family members were cool, but Charlie tamed dragons. Dragons. No. Think about it. Dragons. One time, he told your family he let you touch a dragon egg—but, between you and him, he let you ride a dragon hatchling on its first flight. He's so cool. Sometimes people give you weird looks when you talk about how dragons are. That's okay. Those people are weird and you're so cool you got to ride a dragon before you started Hogwarts.
Traits: Weasley, Dragon Tamer I, Care for Magical Creatures III, Creature Person, Worldly, Oddball
Abilities: Flying improved to Acceptable (A) or P (Poor) {pending later choice}. Flying selected as starting Affinity and Focus.

[] Percy Weasley, Prefect Perfect.
Percy had a seriousness and ambition that most people in your family lacked. He had drive, spirit and a plan to restore the Weasley family name. He won't teach you wand magic (it goes against the law, and Percy is always serious about the law) but he was more than willing to teach you theory and tips on everything else. It's you and him against a family of (beloved) loons, after all.
Traits: Weasley, Ambitious, Politician II, Advanced Theory, Law-abiding, Burrow Outcast
Abilities: Transfiguration improved to D (Dreadful). Dark Arts improved to D (Dreadful). Defense Against the Dark Arts improved to D (Dreadful). Flying decreased to T (Troll) or D (Dreadful) {pending later choice}. No starting Affinity or Focus.

[] The Twins.
Mum and Dad thought that the Twins were trouble enough. They weren't prepared for the Third Head of Cerberus to be born into the world. It isn't, exactly, that you liked Fred or George. You were more of competitors at work to see who could cause the most damage and the most fun, and that bred a sort of begrudging respect for each other.
Traits: Weasley, Prankster II, Deceit II, Imaginative, Stealth I, Troublemaker
Abilities: Dark Arts improved to P (Poor). Charms improved to P (Poor). Charms set as starting Affinity and Focus. Various Hexes and Jinxes learned.

[] Ron Weasley, the other baby.
Maybe it was because you were born so close together, maybe it was because you two suffered the most at The Twins hands together. Maybe it was because today, he was so close to the Boy-who-Lived and held your future in his hands. You and Ron were close and could confide in each-other, no matter the situation.
Traits: Weasley, Underdog II, Gamer I, Proud, Boy-Who-Lived Lore
Abilities: No ability improvements. Alternate Hogwarts approach unlocked.

[] Uncle Billius, your godfather.
Though he had been your brothers Bill and Ron's godfather before you, you were the first child he really took up that role for. Billius is an oddball and a quirk, fascinated with divination and other sciences that Mum frankly doesn't believe in, but he had a big heart and a kind home. In your weekend adventures to his house, you've seen another world.
Traits: Weasley, Divination II, Stealth I, Creature Lore I, Worldly, Thestral-Sight
Abilities: Potions improved to P (Poor). Defense Against the Dark Arts improved to D (Dreadful). Wolfsbane potion knowledge unlocked.

[] Mafalda and her family.
Mafalda, being the only girl in your family near your age, was your best friend growing up. When she and Luna had their row, you choose to side with blood, and the two of you were all the closer for it. Auntie Leonie dotes over the two of you together, and Tristram's always full of a quiet rage you that you can't help but shiver from. Their world is so different from The Burrow…
Traits: Weasley, Pureblood Connections, Deceit II, Proud, Worldly, Burrow Outcast
Abilities: Dark Arts improved to P (Poor). Wandlore improved to D (Dreadful). Dark Arts set as starting Affinity and Focus.

[] Nobody.
It's a little sad to admit, but there was never really anyone at The Burrow that you got along with. Bill and Charlie were too old. The Twins were just hurtful to be around, and Ron wasn't much better. Dad tried, but he was always lost in his machines or away at the Ministry, and Mum's idea of helping was its own kind of hurting. You were alone… until now.
Traits: Weasley, Alone III, Stealth III, Occlumency II, Asocial, Adventurous, Burrow Guilt
Abilities: Your choice of improvement of one skill to A (Acceptable) and two skills to D (Dreadful). The skill chosen for A (Acceptable) is selected as Affinity and Focus. Following character generation decisions will have more intense effects. The effects of The Book are significantly more intense. Hard mode.

e: Slight grammar fixes & adjustments made. 1/5/2022: corrected "Leonie Lestrange" to "Leonie Weasley née Lestrange"

This is spooky and occult in a way that I think might fit the tone. Also 'Thestral-Sight' is an in with Harry that very few others will be able to understand.

[X] Ron Weasley, the other baby.
This is a great in with the traditional main cast and thus a ticket to come on their adventures.

To be honest, Harry isn't that impressive, he is a lucky kid that find himself in a lot of extraordinary circumstances, he is a normal kid destained to fight Sauron and he is pals with the local Merlin.

But that all he is, Harry was never really extraordinary the same way Voldemort and Dumbledore are, so an in with him, especially this early isn't that important, one of the main reasons I pick Loner (outside similarities to Tom) is the genius implied in having acceptable before even going to Hogwarts.

Could we become the future inventor of magitech!
Honestly Muggle Sciences and Artificer sound like an interesting future to go down in, make her old man proud as she change the world though the Twins...

Mafalda option made me wince, poor Luna.

Because I'm very indecisive and I like a lot of the options.

There's a significant proximity to adventure and fame however. An in here is a key to more networking opportunities and encounters with important and powerful things.

Through learning to defend yourself you learn that which you fight, and when you stare into the Abyss it stares back at you.
