Looking at our current partial and potential cultivation actions, the ONLY cultivation technique that can be completed before the end of the month is Qi Tranfusion. This is a non-combat technique.

The only way this can change is using the Celestial Lavender, but that wastes 50 potential dice because we have a locked major action.

Challenges start after one more week. Shaohuo will have to navigate that with his current cultivation and skill levels.

At least Shaohuo has been a nice guy? He haven't offended anyone right? That Hou Lian won't target us just because he doesn't like our roommate right? Right?

Well, the next update will include the negotiations with Hou Lian which will wrap up the second week.

We've formed a clique and our friends are pretty strong girls. People may be wary of offending the Princess...or go straight for her to prove some point of theirs.

It does seem like things go her way too often. I like her character but it's concerning how easy things are for her.

I keep making mental comparisons to Haruhi Suzumiya. A lot of times success is the result of being confident and at the very least pretending you know what you're doing, even if what you're doing is weird.

She's a highly talented cultivator and destined to govern a province so that's a given. Socially, her approach doesn't work on everyone but she hasn't been interacting with those people in the story much so far. For example, Liu Shuren and Hou Lian wouldn't be impressed and while Xu Kuo doesn't have any issues with her beyond her status, he's not particularly fond of her either.

That's a good comparison. People are drawn to that kind of charisma. Shaohuo prefers a more conservative approach - he might not be as charismatic as Xiaoli is with her peers, but he is good at avoiding giving offense and he is better at dealing with social superiors.

Basically Xiaoli finds it easy to make close friends with peers and inferiors, but would be playing high stakes offense games with superiors and those who believe strongly in decorum.
Shaohuo on the other hand finds it harder to make close friends, but he's almost never going to accidentally make an enemy

There is Wang Shen, Suyin's unwanted suitor.

There were calls for resolving the situation - or at least for looking into where we stand - before the truce is lifted, but I suppose the single interaction we've had with him didn't endear him to us. Since talking to friends is more pleasant than talking to potential enemies, and our social actions are limited, I am not sure we'd get to do it.

He is the only one here who has any kind of negative history with us, though. Between our allies, we might be able to manage.

Atelier game protagonist is along the lines of Rorona/Mana Khemia, etc, alchemy games, craft stuff, outfit your friends, make mad bank selling endgame tier weapons and drugs to protagonists.

Yeah, pretty much. We've been heading in this direction to shore up our average cultivation ability, it might not be a bad idea to go whole hog into it.

Abyssal Spirits are Dolphin Spirit Beasts? I've been rereading the quest, and the fact that they like to hunt sharks has me drawing the connection.

EDIT: We should probably talk to Xu Kuo sometime about Spirit herb cultivation. He comes a farming family, so he might know something. Even if its as tedious as we read about, there might be some poor man's alternative to spirit herbs that might be easier to grow

It's always a massive change to read this after binging on FoF. Hopefully we can get enough drugs to overcome our 40% per dice gain.

Forge of Destiny by Yrsillar. It's let down by lack of yuri. It's Wuxia too except the MC is extremely talented peasant-come-immortal.

I wish there were more of these cultivator quests, there's one on QQ too.

Being Mediocre is fun at times, though getting only 2/30 successes sucks.

Good catch. Orcas, to be precise.

Oh. I'm more familiar with that falling under the FoD acronym. A shame, I thought that there might be another one out there.

Well, Even Further Beyond is another Xianxia quest but it's quite different from this one and FoD. There's also Lanterns of Safety which is a civilization quest in a wuxia setting.

I remember reading a Xianxia quest where the protagonist was a white collar worker who either died, or managed to stumble into a low-ranking spot in the Celestial Bureaucracy. Had some Xianxia elements, but I lost track of it, and I can't remember the name.

Great. I got hooked on wuxia-ish CYOAs by treave so I'm always on the lookout to fill in a part of the hole his work's completion left.
