[X] Let Naomi handle this.
Unfortunately no, Jackson is already predisposed against you (remember how he dismissed you as Naomi's boyfriend), so any peace attempts are likely to fall flat. Can we try and prevent them from fighting like this?
It's kind of... We're green, and impressionable. Is this how they want to represent TFV?
Ehhh, six of one, half dozen of another. Remember, Valkyrie recently had to purge a number of vampires who were infiltrating their ranks, so even if their methods have changed, there's probably still some negative sentiment towards the supernaturals.I'm really hoping this man is an outlier in the Valkyrie organization, because if he isn't I'm going to get really worried.
Technically you and Naomi both hold the rank of "Special Agent" which is roughly equivalent of "Captain" in the military (which Valkyrie uses for it's ranking system). Sadly, Jackson is also a Captain rank.
That's... not a sentiment I was expecting, to be honest. Is backing up your partner considered white knighting these days? Like, don't feel the need to change your vote or anything, but I'm curious as to the reasoning behind this line of thought. Depending on what it is I might incorporating it in to Malcom's own train of thought should the vote go that way.If we want to curry favour with Naomi, I think this is the better option. Does she seem like the sort of gal who wants a White Knight?
A matter of degrees, perhaps. I do agree we should be backing her up, and I agree that having your partner's back is not 'white knighting', but this also doesn't seem - to me - like we need to actively support her beyond not backing down. Deferring to her judgment, as it were; I might have grown up with two very independent sisters - whom Naomi slightly remind me of - who would be quite offended by somebody stepping in on their fight, no matter how well-intentioned.That's... not a sentiment I was expecting, to be honest. Not white knighting. I think it's the situation and the term being used too generally when a woman is in trouble.That's... not a sentiment I was expecting, to be honest. Ah, that's fair. In keeping with my philosophy that quests are a form of collaborative storytelling, I want to assure you that I don't do "trap" choices like that. While one option will definitely upset her and one option will definitely endear you to her, I can promise that she won't get upset because she thinks you're fighting her battles for her.A matter of degrees, perhaps. I am however not the best at reading situations and people, and may be overthinking/misinterpreting things.
That is very good to know, and I do appreciate you being straight with us.Ah, that's fair. (Also because I try to operate in good faith, if you do end up pissing her off you'll have the opportunity to make it up to her if you really want it)
Nope. The Technocratic Union does not exist in this setting - that's Old World of Darkness.I don't know anything about Chronicles of Darkness, but is the Technocracy a thing here?
consequences and benefits I suppose. The closer he looked the more he could see that there were strong feelings of... isolation? Loneliness? It was difficult to say, but there were signs that she felt cut off from everyone and was looking for a lifeline in Malcom. This conflict with the commander was only furthering to drive home that sense of exclusion, and the fact that Malcom hand't even offered a word of support had disappointed her.
Bingo. There are no bad choices, just people acting and reacting based on who they are and what their goals might be.
