[X] Address the man with the coat. (Vertigo)
-[X] "Why bother sending someone to question me if you were planning to drop in before we'd finished introductions? It seems like a waste of time, is this a common human custom?"
You immediately look at the man with the leather jacket while frowning internally. Did he send his Madam Cobra for nothing if he was just going to come here through a portal? If he think they can waste time like this in such a serious situation, he is sorely mistaken.
"A quick question to you mister," you ask the man as you make sure that the man realizes that you're talking to him, to which he quickly looks at you with interest. "Why bother sending someone to question me if you were planning to drop in before we'd finished introduction? It seems like a waste of time, is this a common human custom?" you finish asking him your questions as you talk to him with a dismissive tone.
You see both Madam Cobra and the man with the wolf by his side frowning at your dismissive questions of their leader, which you could partially understand. They were all a part of a single group and loyalty is a part of any group. However, you raised up an excellent point, why are they upset with that.
The tall man starts walking towards you as the large, black wolf besides him growls. "You dare question Vertigo, the human who was blessed the most by The Powers That Be?" he asks as irritation flows through his low-pitched voice. As he is about to pass the head of his order, the second man, Vertigo, raises his hand and glares at the man.
"Black Howler, stand down. Do not become complacent enough to fall to mediocre insults. This attitude is beneath you, for we all have ascended beyond the weaknesses of the human spirit. We do not feel anger, love, lust nor greed or wroth. We have seen what is beyond virtue and sin. Remember that." Vertigo says with a calm and collected voice as he glares at his friend.
Is that human truely believes he is above the biological and spiritual functions of a sentient being? There was no man who was blessed by The Powers That Be in such regards, not even among the favorite humans. Not Solomon with his wisdom, not Samson with his strength, and not even the prophets or the Nephelim of Nazareth. Yet this person is more blessed than all of them? You highly doubt it.
Vertigo then looks at you with a calm demeanor on his face as he glows with a black aura, to which the two birds on his chest suddenly sprout out from his body. They were both at the size of an American Eagle, had beaks that were seperated into four parts and they were black in color with some dark-purple feathers and red eyes. One had a purple, flaming crest on top of his head, while the other had a very long and thin flaming, purple tail.
The birds landed each on one of the man's arms, looking straight into your soul with their bright, blood-red eyes. There was no doubt about it, they were Shadowlings, birds who manipulated darkness energy as projectile or shaping their bodies with it, who hail from a dimension known as Vircifian Void. There was several seconds of silence, only for about 7 seconds after being summoned, the Shadowling with the long tail started to laugh out loud with an hysterical laugh, which confused everyone in the room, including his summoner and the other Shadowling.
"HAHAHAHA!!!" The avian creature continued laughing and laughing on and on for a while, until he finally started to slow down as he seemed in pain from laughing so much. Was there something funny you weren't aware of?
"Oh man," the long-tailed creature started to talk as he still chuckled while looking at you. "I can't believe you called out his bullshit! I like you already." he tell you as he started flapping his wings and fly towards you. "And I usually really hate your kind, with all the 'Rawr, I'mma destroy everything and shit, rawr.'" he tells you as you're not really sure of what to make of the bird.
Vertigo quickly clears out his throat, making you return your focus and sight on him rather than his bird. "I was mistaken to believe that by now Madam Cobra would have finished introductions and gaining your reason for coming here. I intended to arrive just when you were ready to confirm that our alliance would be set in stone as I believed it to be." he tells you as he opens his palm, to which the black book that Madam Cobra held in her hand before suddenly appeared in his hand as he opened it. "In darkness, one gains true patience, for in the light thou art stuck in the complacency of petulance, breeding impatience and distrust in time itself, taking it for granted." he says before closing the book, which then disappears before your eyes in a poof of smoke. "So it is written." he says with a condescending tone to his voice.
The Shadowling with the long, thin, flaming purple tail immediately interjected. "What Goth William Blake wannabe here means is basically a farcical and smart sounding way of saying: "No, YOU are wasting time!" like some little brat with no real riposte." the creature insults his master as he explains the true meaning to what Vertigo just told you with a snarky comment. You already understood that the man was just insulting you, saying he knew what "true patience" is. You really don't like this guy already. You see him scowl at his bird harshly.
Suddenly the second Shadowling started flapping its wings and fly up. "Vanphilius, brother, why must thou insult our master to such degree?" he asks as he flies besides his brother.
"Because our master is so goddamn smug that's it's fun to hear him getting knocked down a peg, Vesilius." Vanphilius says with a satisfied tone to his voice.
You decide to ignore the arguement that was now starting between the Shadowling siblings as you look at Madam Cobra, who had all of her snake familiars crawl back slowly on her skin, returning to their state as tattoos. She was also frowning at you.
"As I was about to say," you adress her and make sure the other two humans know who you were speaking to now. "I came here chasing a being of a race called Drajophus. One that came here to enslave the human race." you tell her with a concerned and very serious tone to your voice, which comes out metallic and echoing through your shell.
After telling them what you came to this dimension for, there is a silence between everyone. Even the two summoned Shadowling siblings who were arguing together just stopped their arguement and looked at you. The humans kept on a stoic and emotionless expressions on their faces, so they either never heard of a Drajophus before and were just interested, or they were scared and tried their best to hide it.
"Woah woah woah woah woah." the Shadowling Vanphilius said with fear quite clearly echoing in his voice. He definitely knows what a Drajophus is and he seems scared. At least someone is showing an understanding of what the situation is. "You want to chase down a Drajophus? Are you nuts?! Those things originated from Hell itself!" he shouts with a terrified tone to his voice while rapidly flapping his wings in a fright and mania.
The other Shadowling, Vesilius, starts chuckling. "Finally, a worthy foe for a mighty warrior as I to do battle with!" he says with excitement as he starts flapping his wings in a quicker pace as well.
The Shadowling with the flaming purple tail then lands on the table and stops flapping his wings as only a few seconds later his brother lands beside him. "Sure, go for it...if you want to become a Kentucky Fried Chicken." he snarks as he turns towards his summoner. "Vertigo please, don't say yes to this. You will die! Trust me on th-" he starts begging to his master, who just raises his hand above his head, snaps his fingers and the Shadowlings immediately disappear. Both of them, retuning as tattoos on his chest.
The three humans return to focus on their conversation with you. The man with the leather jacket looks at the woman beside him and nods to her, to which she nods back. The man with the long bang then nods at the tall man, who also nods back before looking at his wolf, who howls loudly, oppening a portal.
Madam Cobra looks at you with her stoic expression. "Seems like continuing this discussion is useless. If we are dealing with a demon, then we must wait for The Darkness to guide our actions through Vertigo. There is no point of staying here. You are welcomed to our base." she tells you as she and her leader get up from their chairs and walk towards the portal. Perhaps you could follow them and see how they intend to handle all the information.
Can they track down the Drajophus with a certain type of magic? Do they know its weaknesses? Do they have a plan? Well, nothing else to do but to find out. You get up and join the group as you enter the portal.
Throughout your journey in the black-purple tunnel of a portal, you constantly hear the howling sound of the wolf who summoned it. No doubt it was also a being from the Vircifian Void, all of the familiars are probably from there. It makes you wonder of what they are capable of in a fight, especially against a being as strong as a Drajophus.
When you exit the portal, you find yourself in a place filled with shelves that had many, many books in them. The place was dimly lit, filled with flickering candles that were burning with bright purple fire, giving a purple hue light to the darkness around.
The three humans look at you as the portal behind you closes. "Welcom... to Darkness' temple of knowledge." Vertigo says as he walks towards a couch and immeditely lies down. "This library holds knowledge of the occult. You may or may not find something about the demon you're chasing. Whether you find information that will lead us to him or not in irrelevant. Eventually Darkness will send us its direction. All you need is wait." he tells you as he closes his eyes.
Wait? Wait! This Vertigo thinks that the best way of finding the monster is just to wait until something happens and hope to get there before it disappears?! No, you didn't come to the human world with the intentions of stopping this Drajophus and then just wait for him to achieve his goals. Then again, you could spend some time knowing your new allies and what they are capable of. Or just get to know them better as people, to satisfy you curiosity of the human nature,
(Pick 2):
[] Speak with Vertigo.
-[] Ask about the structure of the order and its members' strengths and weaknesses.
-[] Ask him about what the Order of the Black Book actually does. What kind of oppositions of the magical world do they face?
-[] Ask him a personal question (Write-In).
[] Find a book to read. Perhaps you would find information on Drajophuses that include more details about their weaknesses besides what you already know.
[] You know Drajophus are weak to Holy Magic. Perhaps you should try to find a Holy Magic Grimoire?
[] Talk to Madam Cobra.
-[] Ask about her familiars and their abilities.
-[] Ask her a personal question (Write-In).
[] Talk to Black Howler.
-[] Ask about his familiar and its abilities.
-[] Ask him a personal question (Write-In).
[] Try to use your Precognition power to look where the Drajophus would be in the near future.

Okay, this one was pretty long, I have to admit. A small note is that Jesus isn't the son of God, but the son of an Angel who is an equivilant of a lesser god in this universe. If you take DC/Vertigo comics for example, you could say an Archangel is like a lesser god watching over Earth instead of God himself. So Jesus is more like Elain Belloc before becoming The Presence.
