Hero of an Era Quest: A Superhero Quest

[X] Speak with Vertigo.
-[X] Ask about the structure of the order and its members' strengths and weaknesses.
[X] You know Drajophus are weak to Holy Magic. Perhaps you should try to find a Holy Magic Grimoire?

Feel like these are a decent enough two to pick, at least, if only two choices are to be had, it'd probably be a good idea to figure out just who we're working with, and what exactly, given we're in hard mode effectively. I'm not the most sure for the second, but then, it's a hard decision between finding holy magic possibly, finding more information, or using precognition.

[X] Find a book to read. Perhaps you would find information on Drajophuses that include more details about their weaknesses besides what you already know.

Oh my god. The Goth is strong in them

[X] Speak with Vertigo.
[X] Ask him about what the Order of the Black Book actually does. What kind of oppositions of the magical world do they face?

[X] Try to use your Precognition power to look where the Drajophus would be in the near future.

Fixed that for you. Also, the plan was to make them Goth with Vertigo being especially pretentious.

I'm pretty sure it's been established that that is the norm, and I think we might actually be unique from the world we came from. Since the way he talks about his realm makes me think that they way that they work together, and not heavily subjugate isn't normal, and that a normal action when two meet is fighting, or subjugation to be even better, and then to use that group to fight.

You are correct. But I think my explanation was funnier.
Do I need to put :V's on literally everything that is less than 100% serious?

Prologue - Learning Weaknesses
[X] Find a book to read. Perhaps you would find information on Drajophuses that include more details about their weaknesses besides what you already know.
[X] You know Drajophus are weak to Holy Magic. Perhaps you should try to find a Holy Magic Grimoire?

Tick-Tock attempts to learn information on the Drajophusian race, making an Intellect test. Test Difficulty: 3.
Test Without Modifiers: 9-3.
2d6-7 Modifier: (-3).
Final Outcome: (9-3)-3=3 Major Success!

Tick-Tock Attempts to find a Holy Grimoire in the library, making an Awareness test. Test Difficulty: 4.
Test Without Modifiers: 6-4.

2d6-3 Modifier: (-3)
Final Outcome: (6-3)-4=(-1) Failure.

You decide after a dew minutes upon what you're going to do: look throughout the library for whatever can assist you to defeat the Drajophus. This means you're going to rely a lot on reading in the next few hours or even the next few days in order to find everything you need to know about its race. You decide to look around, taking out books from their shelves and you start reading every book in which you can find any title referring to a Drajophusian.

And so hours upon hours pass, or so you think. To you time never matters and sensing how much time passes in a place that is so darkened to the point that you can't see the sun entering and passing so you wouldn't be able to know how much time has truly passed. Though you can probably guess that you have been in the human dimension for over a day now.

After all this time though, you have a large amount of into on the race after all of your research. Enough to satisfy you. First fact that was interesting for you to learn was that their lungs were immune to the effects of Carbon Dioxide, which made sense since they created fire a lot of the time, so it would make sense that they could sustain themselves in that kind of environment.

You also learn that while they have exoskeletons, that line of defense isn't as invulnerable as you thought hours prior. From a whole lot of reading you learn that if they are hit hard enough, then their exoskeleton breaks and they are left with no physical defense what so ever. However, they do manage to regrow those hollow, defensive plating across their bodies after several days.

Now in terms of weaknesses, you know that like any demon, they are weak against holy magic, but just flailing religious symbols in front of them does nothing, so if you are to buy a cross or anything of that kind, you should find a Grimoire of Holy Magic and learn some of its spells to enhances the holy items.

You learn that like the vampires who live in this dimension, a Drajphus has a weakness to a certain type of metal: silver. If Stabbed through the heart by something made of silver, the Drajophus dies almost immediately, just like vampires. The problem would be to find a weapon made of silver.

Information that you also learn is that the monster tends to start a fight by relying on his great strength and attack at melee first with its claws, only to start throwing fireballs and fire breaths from the air when it realizes that he isn't having an easy fight. The best this situation is to constantly attack when he does and try to prevent him from using darkness barriers.

After reading this information, you start looking for a Holy Magic Grimoire, taking out books from book shelves in order to see if you can find something. You take out book after book, read through each and every one, then return it to the shelf. For about a few hours you feel yourself feel exhausted, after all, just because you are made of time doesn't mean you don't need to sleep to regain your energy.

After finishing through the second book shelf, you sit down and lean your back against another shelf and close your eyes. You don't know how much time you're in this state, but when you wake up, you see Madam Cobra standing over you, inspecting you with interest.

You raise your head, to which she doesn't show any emotion. "You seemed like you were a lifeless armor on the ground. It was quite interesting and insightful to watch you sleep, for I didn't know your kind needs sleep." she tells you as she starts walking away. "I shall go and meditate to become one with the shadows of my heart, and snuff any trace of emotion within me." she tells you as you hear her steps echoing on the ground.

"Wait." you tell her, to which she immediately stops. "Do you have any Holy Magic Grimoire in this library?" you ask her with a voice echoing through your metallic shell.

The Goth woman turns to you and shake her head. "We worship the darkness in this place. The light only brings out the worst of man and woman. So does Vertigo says, and he spreads the word of the Darkness of the Black Book and its world. Therefore, we do not own the Grimoire you're looking for." she tells you as she walks away.

What do you do now? (Pick 2):
[] Speak with Vertigo.
-[] Ask about the structure of the order and its members' strengths and weaknesses.
-[] Ask him about what the Order of the Black Book actually does. What kind of oppositions of the magical world do they face?
-[] Ask him a personal question (Write-In).
[] Talk to Madam Cobra.
-[] Ask about her familiars and their abilities.

Well, we still don't a thing about our allies so I guess my vote hasn't changed.
A little disappointing, but thats the votes fault.

-[x] Ask about the structure of the order and its members' strengths and weaknesses.
-[x] Ask him a personal question: is there a source of silver we could obtain to help combat the drajophus.

This is the exact same as stubbornbastard's suggestion, except more general, so not changing it.

-[X] Ask him a personal question (Write-In): Would there be the chance to gather silver weaponry of any sorts? Given the lack of holy grimoires, leaves this one of the better options to facing the Drajophus.

You get up from where you were resting and you start walking towards the area where Vertigo was lying down when you arrived to this library. You believe it is time for you to ask him some important questions concerning his order that could help you against the Drajophus.

You walk to the couch that the man was lying on earlier, only to see two people who haven't seen before sitting on it while in each other's arms and lips pressed together, clearly showing affection. So that much throws the whole "above human weaknesses such as love".

The first person is a tall woman, 6 feet and 2 1/64 inches or 6.167979 feet or 1.88 meters. She has long chestnut-brown hair that reaches to her lower back and is heavily braided. You also see the the highlights of the air very clearly and it has a shine to it, which means that she probably washes and takes care of her hair with those hair products you read about in some of the magazines that reached your dimension.
You can't see the color of her eyes, but she has a long nose that is curved downwards, meaning that she has a Jewish heritage in her family tree that connects her to the Israelites of old. There are make up marking around the eyes, with black mostly covering the area above and below the eyes, with the sides having red markings around that area to connect both of the upper and lower black lines together. Her lips are also colored black.
She wears a robe with very wide sleeves and the robe itself covers all of her body, so you can't really tell what she is wearing under that nor what kind of familiar from the Vircifian Void did she possess.

The other person was a man who was much shorter than the woman, about 16-18 centimeters shorter. He has a shaved head, but you can see that from what the color of whatever is left on his head, he has red head, which would fit with his very pale and the many freckles across his face. His nose is curved slightly upwards in contrast to the woman, and he has heavy black makeup all over his face and his lips are colored black, just like the lips that are locked into his.
He wears a purple t-shirt while wearing over it a black vest, which looked like it had buttons on it that were unbuttoned, meaning this was probably a jacket that the man cut of the long sleeves completely. On the t-shirt itself you see somthing sloppily written on it, so you focus for a bit and you silently read it in your mind: "For I am hope, the bringer of darkness". These people sure love to talk about darkness, don't they?
Across his arms you see the tattoos of his familiars, which were several small sharks across his arms. You also see a Nicotine Patche on his right arm, showing that he was probably a smoker in the past, but he is trying to stop.

You stop and stare at the two for a few seconds before heading into a different direction, hoping not to disturb their peace and quiet or just cause a fight with them in case they become aggressive if they see you. Looking from afar whould satisfy your curiosity in trying to understand how humans express love or even what love is, because you could only define it from books.

After a few steps of you getting away from them, one of them spots you. "Hey!" the woman shouts as she gets up and the black book appears in her left hand, causing several tentacles to come out from the large sleeves of her robe. "Who are you and how did you get to the order's library?!" she asks with concern and anger in her voice.

The man quickly get up as the book teleports from the woman's hand into his, and black and dark-purple sharks jump from his skin and sink into the floor as if it was made of water. "Speak now and we shall grant you a quick death." he says with determination in his angry voice as they are ready to attack at any moment.

You don't know if you could take them on, and they both seemed to want to kill you either way, thinking you're an enemy. Well, you don't blame them for thinking this, but you thought that if they came to the library while you were asleep, then Madam Cobra or Vertigo would tell them about your presence.

"Dark Kraken, Great Black, stand down." you hear the voice of Madam Cobra walking towards the two members of the order that you don't know and yourself, with her biggest snake out crawling by her side. "This is our guest that I told you of. Retract your familiars." she tells them as they look at her with a surprised expression on their faces and they seem to hesitate.

At that point the snake opens its mouth. "I would do asssss my masssster requestsssss of you. Thankssss to the Russsssfuvzhk over here, we have a bigger fish to catch, so to ssspeak." it says with a serious tone to its voice as it hisses at the two humans.

Looking at each other, the two nod their heads as the tentacles retract back into the sleeves of the woman's robe and the shark jump back from the floor and attach themselves onto the skin of their master. The two then glare at you with a distrusting look in their eyes as they walk away.

At this point you hear a chuckle from above you, so you look up and see one of the Shadowlings of the order's leader standing on top of a rail of the floor above. "Man Death Wish, you're not very popular, are you?" he asks you with a jokey tone to his voice as he continued to cackle.

You glare at him. "So it seems." you say as you keep a watchful eye on him. You haven't really formed an opinion on the shadow bird, so now was a good time as any. You then realize what was the first thing he said to you. "Death Wish? Is that supposed to be a nickname which people give to one another in showing of affection between people who are close to one another?" you ask him with curiosity in your voice.

The bird starts to fly down. "Yeah genius. Anyone of your kind or mine for that matter that is actively chasing a Drajophus is asking to get killed." he tells you bluntly while he goes back up to sit on the rail. "So the wanna-be Shakspeare wants to talk to you, he's in his office on the second floor. Come up here and I'll take you to him." he tells you as he comfortably sits there and watches you.

You walk up the stairs that lead to the second floor, and when you get up, Vanphilius starts to fly, getting ahead of you as he flies towards a hallway slowly, allowing you to walk besides him while he continues to chuckle to himself.

"Man, you just caught these two completely off guard, I'll hand that to ya'." the Shadowling tells you as he leads you through the hallway. "Now you see that as much as my master believes the members of the order are above any sin or virtue, they really aren't. They just hide their secrets under a rug and hope nobody spots them." he explains to you as you keep walking through the hallway, seeing from the distance several splits of the path, each reveling a door.

"Then those two should have tried to act the way they did in a place that wasn't so much in the open." you tell the bird as the walk in the hallway feels like it's taking a very long time.

Vanphilius laughs. "Ha! That's so true it's hilarious!" he yells as he starts to laugh for a few seconds, to which you start to chuckle as well.

Finally, you reach a door. "Well, this is his office. I assume he would want to talk about strategy where he does the killing blow and takes all the glory. Just a fair warning." the bird tells you before disappearing in a puff of smoke. You press down the door knob and open the door.

Inside you see the man sitting completely topless in front of his desk, which has several books on it as well as a crystal ball and talismans. On the walls you see a lot of writings in various different languages, such as Latin, English, Mandarin, Japanese, Ancient Egyptian and so on, reaching up to at least 10 languages, and you understood each and every word of each and every language, since you knew many of this dimension's languages, and thanks to your intellect you're fluent in more than 30 languages.

The human man looks at the crystal ball and sighs. "Good to see that you have come as I requested. I wish to talk about my strategy of fighting the Drajophus that you talked about. I believe that with my intellect and my divine protection form the Darkness, I believe we can easily best it." he tells you with a confident tone to his voice as he rubs the crystal ball.

You quickly raise your hand. "Wait. If I am to trust your plans, I must first conjure a plan of my own in case yours isn't successful. In order to do that, I need to know the way your order's structure of leadership and companionship, as well as knowledge of your members' capabilities as well as the capabilities of their familiars, not to mention their strengths and weaknesses of both powers and personalities." you explain to him your request, to which he just nods his head. "I would also want to know if there are any king of silver weaponry in your possession, since it would be of great help for us." you tell him as you have one last request before finishing your little list of important details that you need to know.

After hearing you out, Vertigo just shakes his head. "I'm sorry, but I refuse to tell you such delicate information without telling you my plans first. My plans never fail, but if you feel comfortable wasting time creating more plans, be my guest. However, listen to the words of the wiser first." he tells you as he is adamant about being the one to say his plans first.

(Pick 1):
[] Let him talk first and hear out his ideas on how to take down the Drajophus. If you don't like his plan, press harder and be more adamant yourself with your requests.
[] Stand your ground and state that you want the info on the Order of the Black Book first, saying you won't listen to his plan until you have all the details.
