If you want the best of both worlds sum up the first two years and start with a "clean slate" for year 3. Lets any new players in without tons of investment while keeping the old progress for old players.
 
While I'm flexible, I suppose if I had to choose I'd lean towards a clean slate. Especially since you lost you notes...
 
I will participate in whichever choice is made. I have no preference personally and feel whatever the QM is most comfortable doing is what should be done on whether to continue or reboot.
 
I like the idea of clean-slating from the start of the year, rather than starting over from scratch. I'm also perfectly happy with just continuing from where we were before.

Edit: Also, as a note, I've still got a boon or two IIRC, and starting over looses us not only the unclaimed boons, but the things we've been rewarded with, but may not have fully unlocked\understood yet (and trust me, they're worthwhile)

Personally, I'm with @Dr. Bob Doom on clean-slating from the start of a year. I'm fine with both rolling back to the start of 2nd year or skipping to the beginning of the 3rd year, though I voted for the latter. I just don't want the GM to feel forced to start from a place they'd rather not, especially if she lost her notes.

Its been over 2 years since I've done anything with this thread. I wish I could say that was because I got a job with NASA and was busy with space stuff or even just doing things to improve my writing skills. Unfortunately the truth is the last two years were pretty much the worst of my life so far. I'm not going to go into details but suffice to say just about everything in my life was turned upside down and it nearly broke me.

But enough negativity for now. Since there's a new me with a new apartment (and my notes were lost or destroyed) I've decided that I'll be resuming this in a new thread. I make no promises about an update schedule and a number of existing plot threads will be altered or dropped since I have to recreate pretty much everything from memory.

With that in mind I'm leaving the choice to anyone who's still interested in this quest. When the new thread opens will we pick up where I left off or did Hermione's terrible luck with exercise lead to her spending a couple months as a statue in a slight twist on canon. Alternately do we want to do a full or partial reboot? If you're interested or just have an opinion please vote in the poll and maybe leave a comment.

So I've now pretty much reread the thread and should be able to post a basic summary sometime after work tonight. While I've got a lot to rebuild on the backend and figure out what to do going forward.

Plus side, we stopped at a decent spot so at least I won't have to start in the middle of an event if that option is chosen. So I'm honestly fine with any of the options.
 
So I found out the company I work for is getting bought out. Stress is my life these days.

Anyway, VERY basic summary.

Year 1: Met and befriended Harry and Neville on the Express before the group was sorted into Ravenclaw. Ran into the Weasly twins and became their apprentice before promising Harry to find out more about his family and going on an epic quest to get info on them. Hermione also found out that she loves flying and did some questionably legal magical demonstrations. Oh and "Harry" bought a cat. Then some other stuff happened, Hagrid got a dragon and Flitwick stuck a flying key in his desk.

Summer 1: Took a vacation to the good old US of A then went to Harry and Neville's joint B-Day party at Firestone Hall and Rita Skeeter did a surprising Interview.

Year 2: Yer a teenager, Hermione. Got Lady Longbottom to start something in the Wizengamot over Sirius and joined the Quiditch team. Lockhhart (sadly not that one) and the dueling club are things and a DMLE office failed his will save. Then some other stuff happened and now its winter break.

A cookie and free reroll to use at will for anyone who writes a better summary.
 
So the poll closed yesterday and it came down to a single vote. Given how close it was (and that I can't remember if I actually voted or not XD ) I'm debating just picking up or rebooting. Either way see you guys this weekend in a new thread.
 
I kind of feel having three separate options for keeping what has already happened against one option for complete reboot isn't the best. The 3 options fight amongst each other, even if there is a clear favorite there, and the restart one is consolidated.

If you had had a poll with Restart and Keep What We Have as the two options and then from there, if the keep option won, decide to restart or skip ahead, that would have been better.
