Heir To The World (Medaka Box/JJBA) - Revamped SV Version!

We should give our cousins a call once in a while. I know Jolyne Cujoh would enjoy talking with a delinquent relative.
Do we even know they exist? Isn't Joylene a little girl right now?
Vampires :V
Vampires everywhere :V
Well if vampires are going to be a problem, a trusted minionally can learn Hamon instead.

EDIT:
Yeah, but her usual expression is more along this:
...won't her mouth get dry from being open all the time?

on another note...is Santana still trapped in the Speedwagon fundation? It's been some time and i don't remember what happened to him, or if you are going to change that.
Yeah, he's still there: costing an eye and many limbs in electricity every year. Can I say that, for someone with such an awesome name, he really had an unsatisfied story arc?

No and yes. Still, imagine Jotaro's paranoia if he hears Jolyne mentioning her half-Japanese, half-Britain pen-pal who has Brando as surname...

just saying that she got a letter from her cousin might Trigger Jotaro since the only one that could enter vaguely in that category is Josuke and he's Jotaro uncle. It would he a lot worse if he saw a photo of Zenkichi, since he has Dio/Giorno's hair from what I gatheres from the SB Version

How would he know they were cousins?

Just being pen pals would be lucky enough.

Ironically Satana was named by other people and just went with it. Then somehow the other Pillar men knew that name when they were confronted about it.

So Satana never got to say his real name to make him a real boy and the pillar men have a network that allowed them to troll even when they were still statues.

Christ. I decided to go re-read Medaka Box from the very beginner to refresh my knowledge of the series and the genre-shift from "quirky slice of life about a mary sue" to "Shonen Battle Manga" is still as fascinating as it was when I first read it.

I'm going to make a prediction here and say that we've probably got a bunch of other guys who are ZEN's subordinates around the school as well. All of them waiting for ZEN's orders to move out and take over the school.

Also a question, during middle school, whenever Zenkichi managed to gather followers for whatever group he's formed before Medaka disbanded them, were they the same people from before who were loyal to Zenkichi, new guys that Zenkichi recruited, or a mix of old and new followers?

Also started playing 7th Stand User because of this quest and I'm having fun. Love my dog.

Chapter Two: 1
[X] Start of Chapter Two

One Week Later

Like every morning you stand before the floor mirror, making sure than your appearance is nothing short of perfect.

First, the sweater. Sky blue with gold trims, it has multicolor dragonfly wings designs around the collar, an opening below the neck in the form of a inverted five pointed star that shows your chest and, above the lower hem, a series of golden, tribal dragonfly symbols. More golden tribal lines illustrating dragonflies are depicted on the rest of its surface, giving the impression of a swarm ready to attack.

Over it the Hakoniwa Academy's male uniform, a white jacket with blue and gold trims. You ditched the red tie and keep the jacket open. Around the collar you put the same multicolor dragonfly wings designs of the sweater, and on the lower hem a series of stylized golden dragonflies.

With the white pants and the blue shoes on, the ensemble is completed by dragonfly brooches put on each side of your chest, below the school symbols on both shoulders and on your shoes.

"So that's why narcissism is a thing." You grin, trying a few poses for all occasions before leaving for school.

On the way there you receive a message from Medaka, saying that she has a request that may need your expertise.

A request that was not undertaken anonymously.

[*]

Inside the Student Council Room you stand next to Medaka while she drinks tea seated on an expensive looking chair. On the other side of the table and sitting on a simple rolling chair is a girl wearing the Athletics Club uniform under a windbreaker, with dark brown eyes and brown hair done up in two ponytails with green hairbands.

Her name is Aria Ariake, 2nd year from Class 9. Technically she's your upper-classman, but due to the difference in height it's hard for you to treat her as such.

"Erm...sorry." She begins. "To tell you the truth I didn't really think that this was something I should be talking to 1st years about."

A single year of difference isn't really much in your opinion.

"But after hearing from a friend about the Kendo Hall incident..."

"Don't ever think about it. Go ahead." Medaka's response is that of a queen magnanimously forgiving a courier arriving while she was busy while also giving an order to show the proper social hierarchy. "I will take requests from anyone!"

Ariake is unsurprisingly put off by your friend's attitude, and from time to time she also steals furtive glances at you. You flash her a reassuring smile to make her relax, and are rewarded with a fierce blush. Damn, you acquired another fangirl!

"The thing I've come to you about...is this." She eventually says, putting a carton box on the desk and taking out a pair of sprinting shoes that were ruined by cutting them apart and a letter made with cut-out letters that say: [quit the athletics club].

So, bullying. And of the cowardly type.

"...Horrific." Medaka declares while staring at both objects. Looking at Ariake she silently commands her to explain.

"I was chosen to represent the school in the sprint event at the next competition. I was really happy since it's pretty rare that a second year gets chosen to represent the school." So, either the third years in the Athletics Club aren't much, are absent or Ariake has a better time than any of them. By a logical standpoint, choosing the one who can perform better is the right choice. "But, one week ago I found my running shoes in this state."

Sadly, not everyone think logically. "Do you have any suspects in mind?" You ask her while staring at the incriminating items. Already you can see hints that point to a possible culprit.

"I don't know." She shakes her head. "My shoes were just left in the changing room. Anyone could have done it. Actually..." She clenches her hands. "I don't trust any of them! It's traditional that the competition for a regular place on the team here at Hakoniwa Academy is rough, it's probably normal to be treated with a little hostility after being chosen for a place, right?"

Of course it's perfectly normal. Such are the perils of proving yourself better than someone else. While there are some that don't feel that way, maybe due to honor or a forgiving attitude, there will always be at least one person feeling resentment.

"That's why I was ready for something to happen. But this...I never thought anyone would go this far." Actually, as bullying goes this is more common that one would think.

"By the look of it I'd say you've cherished those shoes for quite some time now." Medaka observes. "And with them in this sort of state I'm guessing you can't train, am I right?"

Ariake nods. "For the moment I have to use trainers. I can't talk with the coach about this: I'm worried that students who are under this sort of stress might be taken off the team."

Hey now, no need to diss the Hakoniwa teachers: those you know about are all quite good at their jobs. However, openly bringing up this sort of problem may truly cause unwanted effects.

"But most of all I can't bring myself to practice with the people who probably were the ones who did this to me!" Ariake is on the verge of crying. "Everyone's a suspect! I can't trust anyone! I'm so upset I can't even sleep at night!"

[] "Please don't worry Ariake-sempai! We will solve this case and bring you back peace of mind!"
[] "How can I say it, the sport clubs are less wholesome than I expected. But we can still help you."
[] "If this is enough to shake you this much, then maybe you should really quit the club."
[] "...Troublesome."
[] "..." Remain silent.
[] "This is what they call the law of nature."
[] "Is there really someone who would do this? That's fucked up!"
[] "I swear! I will give whoever did this a lesson they'll never forget!"
[] "So they admit trash into sport clubs now. Disappointing."
[] Write-in.

Damn, I'm not sure what to go with.

[] "If this much is enough to shake you this much, then maybe you should really quit the club."

This one is essentially questioning Ariake's resolve to continue being part of the Athletics Club in spite of such things happening to her. We're provoking to test whether she's the type of person who would easily crumble in the face of animosity or whether she's determined enough to continue in spite of animosity. This could either result in Ariake's losing confidence and seriously consider quitting or rile her up and push her into focusing on her running to spite her would-be detractors and jealous bullies.

[] "Please don't worry Ariake-sempai! We will solve this case and bring you back peace of mind!"

This one is pretty much the safest answer. A promise to help resolve the case without question. Pretty much the nice guy route. Nothing gained, nothing lost.

[] "How can I say it, the sport clubs are less wholesome than I expected. But we can still help you."

This line was what Zenkichi said in canon while comparing it to the election campaign where similar stuff happened to Medaka. Of course, unlike here, Zenkichi was sceptical about whether they could solve the case due to being unable to sherlock scan the evidence like Medaka can. Our ZEN however seems to already have some ideas on who the culprit is and we'll probably be voting in the near future on how we're going to deal with this case.

For now, unless a good argument is presented, I'm gonna go with -

[X] "How can I say it, the sport clubs are less wholesome than I expected. But we can still help you."

[X] Write-in.
-[X] "Looks like you don't need my help. And it'd be weird for a boy to be seen investigating the woman's locker room. Good luck with that, I'll see you later."

I was going for just straight-up cold-blooded aloofness. Dunno, think it'd be fun, unless the GM doesn't think it'd be in character.

Honesty beforehand

Howling Wolf is great ^^

Actually, leaving now would be contradicting Zenkichi's early statement to Medaka about him being available to help. So yeah, refusing is not prohibited...but it makes Zenkichi looks bad.

[X] "I can tell you this: both Medaka and myself can solve this case for you. You have no need to fear there. Instead, let me tell you the question you should be asking: should Medaka or I solve this for you?
-[X] I say this not out harshness, laziness, or a desire to avoid work, but because of one simple truth: so long as you continue on your course, this situation will happen again. Perhaps not this week, this month, or even this year, but unless truly drastic measures are taken by us... it will reoccur. And when it does... what will you do? Fall to stress, unable to help yourself as you're forced to turn to us for aid again and again?
-[X] So I ask of you, to make your request again after asking yourself one simple question: what is it that you truly want here? For us to solve your problem for you and condemn you to a life of dependency, for us to solve your problem so thoroughly that it will never reoccur... or for us to give you the tools you need to solve this problem yourself?
-[X] By coming here in person and not merely making an anonymous request I believe you've shown the courage needed to rise above the trash in this school and your club... but of course, that is only what I see. The only one who can prove me right or wrong... is you."

...kinda got carried away. No idea if this is a good plan or not, but I found it fun to write.
