Hearts of Iron 3:Their Finest Hour as The Rising Sun,or How an SVer Became Emperor of Japan

Method:
-Surround the Chinese everywhere by land and amphibious attacks.
-Take over any air base nearby for air dominance.

The yellow parts are where the Army will occupy and maintain until 1940.

I can't wait until you discover the in-game battle plan drawer.

Also this plan is ridiculous. I look forward to seeing it.

Chiming in on the BB thing as well. AA and Radar will be upgraded as time goes on. Also, Black Ice make the game so much better...you will certainly want those mountain troops if you're gonna play Black Ice, granted the AI cheats like a motherfucker but well, the price I guess.

I like the Historical Plausibility Project for HoI 3 mods myself.

And we get HoI 4 in June, whoop!

I've gone through pretty much this whole thread at once with very little understand (I blame the animes).
Good luck in your shameful warmongering though.

Sino-Japan War Part 1
July 1937

Before we begin, let's check out our pals at Spain first.

Still a stalemate. This is a pretty even match. No wonder it only ended in 1939. Hard to find an obvious winner here. It would be pretty cool to see the Republican win just so I can see how much History is screwed up if they do. :V

Now that's over, let's beat up the Fortune Cookies.

They started it! #JustificationForWar

But first,

I'm going to change the laws. Gotta get those buffs!

Reminding myself that I have shitty battleships, I order new ones that won't sink like a potato. No offense but some of you guys are quite old.

Muh buffs.

First, I send the Unlucky Fleet for naval bombardment at the Gulf of Chihli. Help the Army a bit.

And now I send my Interceptors above the airbase to achieve air Supremac-

...what? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T REACH THEM? BY ONE FUCKING PROVINCE?! !*&#

Now I have to send the 1st Carrier Div to the Chihli Gulf for fucking air superiority.

Goddamit. No matter, the army can punch through Tianjin and encircle Beiping in a few days.

Oh my god, this is overkill.

Even without Artillery and Engineers, my army can punch through with just the sheer amount of numbers. The Shanxi are dead waiting to be buried.

Meanwhile, I send the 1st Battleship Division goes to the North Taiwan Strait to prepare for the complete control of the Taiwan Strait.

I hope you guys have dreams of becoming Marines, because you guys are going to fight like one.

Oh fuck. *Micromanagement intensifies*

Let's see Datong first.

Eh. Sure victory. But hey, let's give them a fighting chance. Maybe they have better stats?

No, they do not. :V

How about Tianjin? They should give us a good fight.

Cookies? Are you even trying? One of your divisions isn't even at half strength!

Sino-Japan War Part 2

Total massacre. No chance of even a draw. Maybe I don't need naval bombardment after all.

Next, Fengchen.

Total destruction. They don't even have a leader! Are you guys even trying?

Jining?

Brah, I don't even need to look at the Cookies' stats. Look at our attack modifier!

Dammit. That's even further than Beiping. We can't do anything about them for now. Hold on boys, the cavalrycarriers are coming.

My cavalry, even with limited capabilities, still have some use. They can sweep up the flanks of the Shanxi before they have any funny ideas of retreating.

And it looks like we have a breakthrough at Jining. With us killing almost 22 times more than them.

And our boys are still being bombed there. Hold on.

Breakthroughs everywhere. With them dying at least 9 times more. I expected harder resistance. Kind of a shame.

Germany, what are you even doing? You're going to steamroll them later, why would you want to make them join you? Pick better allies you Potatoes.

and they're still bombing us. But this time, our boys are prepared. Only 7 died. For an attack from planes, that's really low.

I'll let this brigade hang out here first. We'll wait until things dies down a bit.

Our Carriers are finally here! Akagi's CAGs will control the skies of Beiping while Kaga's will stay at Jinan( The only place that has an airbase in the picture).

That was fast. How bad are they doing?

Outnumbered, out tech, out experienced and outmaneuvered. No chance.

The 1st Battleship Div has finally arrived. You guys stay there and be on the lookout for any enemy that tries to intervene the landings.

Now, we wait for the 2nd Transport Div.

That was fast. Not that I'm complaining.

Naval landings ho!

While taking Ningde is easy because they have nothing other than HQs, Minhou has a Militia. While we have no problems fighting militias, we're fighting against time too. Our supplies only last for 15 days, so we may have too retreat if this drag out too much.

I think you can't do that without marines. Or at least, the game will automatically invade the neighbouring provinces instead of the target sometimes for some reason. I suppose that's what happened here.
Huh. Well I normally just hit the ports ASAP so that supplies don't have to travel from Best Korea all the way across manchuria down into the interior.

Sino-Japan War Part 3

What?! Where the hell did they come from? I'm pretty sure we already secured the skies. No matter, We still have defenses.

we also have an air engagement in Jinian. Kaga's CAGs engaged with the Cookies there. Not that they have a chance. Maybe the Cookies should've grouped up instead of separated. Maybe then they have a chance.

Anyway, let's deal with the ones above our navy.

Looks like Ryujo has this covered. How about Kaga?

Their organisation isn't even half. They'll rout at any moment.

We have finally arrive at Ningde. Not that I expected any resistance there.

Hmm. Should I? I mean, it's almost impossible for Germany and Italy to win in Europe. However, going to the Commies or Allies is impossible seeing our nation already aligned to the Axis powers. Fighting alone though, is worse. I need allies to even having a chance of beating the Coffees.

...Eh, why not. The more things change, the more they stay the same. But this time, it looks like Russia is being attacked from both sides.

Seeing as we're in the Axis now, we can now have an option in the Diplomacy tab open that is previously not to us. Influencing other country.

In order to be accepted in a faction, one must have low enough neutrality and must be closely aligned. So, it'll cost us some diplomacy points but every second we can delay them from joining the war is a second more of not being attacked from behind.

We could even try to support a party with a similar ideology as us by using our spies. Oh man, could you even imagine, Paternal Autocrat winning the 1940 election? I would laugh my ass off if they did. :lol But later though, they still have too many spies on counterespionage.

-No effect.

Japan doesn't give a shit. I wonder if it affects the Coffees someway.

Bravo Chile. You handled it like a fucking champ.

Obviously, you can't be neutral when you join a faction. We can deal with this.

Ohh, our first naval engagement. China with their 2 Cls and 2 DDs VS our 2BB, 1BC, 6 DDs and a bunch of transports.

Liu Takasu
-Old Guard -
-Sea Wolf

What the hell? Did the Cookies appointed a submarine officer, go through a fucking storm in the middle of the night and managed to go near us as 1 Km away from the fleet?

They may be interesting.

Their DDs start firing to our Transport but only managed to inflict scratches. The 1st BB Div only noticed them now when they're at arms length.

The slugfest begins. D1 and D2 is still firing at the transports but Nagato, Kongo, the DDs from DesDiv13 and DesDiv15 are there covering the transports. Nagato is shooting at Di 1 while Kongo and DesDiv 15 with DesDiv 13 are dealing with Di 2. Di 2 has taken some hits but it looks like she's still focused on stopping the transports.

Meanwhile, Hai Chen, Mutsu, Tung Chi, DesDiv 11, 12,14 and 16 are pummeling each other. Hai Chen is locking on at Mutsu but DesDiv 11,14 and 16 are trying to take away her attention from Mutsu. Tun Chi is causing a bit of disorganization towards Des Div 15 but no damage has been taken yet. Mutsu and DesDiv 12 gangs up on Tung Chi without a substantial hit.

The cookies are still fightin on. Their DDs are still aiming at the transports regardless of being shot at, making no attempts at defending themselves. They have both been hit, but still fighting on. Di 2 will soon be too disorganized to hit back and become a liability. Tung Chi is down at 50 % health and her organisation is depleting fast. Only Hai Chen is fully healthy.

On our side, only Mutsu and DesDiv 15 took some organisation hit

Looks like their surprise attack failed.

Tung Chi and Di 2 is down for the count. They have less than half their health and already lost all their organisation. They can't shoot anymore...supposedly. Di 1 is almost down too.

DesDiv 15 took some hits but nothing they can't shrug off.

It looks like they're trying to retreat. I wonder why they didn't retreat earlier.

Tung Chi is almost dead while Di 1 is barely in a better condition. looks like Hai Chen and Di 1 are covering their retreat. Can we sink any before they withdraw?

Apparently not. While I can pursue, I rather not because someone needs to cover these transports. And I want the 250 naval engagement bonus fasterI wish I could goddam narrate other battles. Air battles, I can't even see who's shooting who. The Army, flanking is the only thing I can say. Naval battles with Carriers are going to be goddam impossible to know what is happening and who's being hit.
