Hard Enough - Pokemon SI

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Is the Brock/Lance battle available on Patreon? How many more extra chapters are there?
I've just done Brock's build up training with his top team to beat Lance, then I have reached the point of the day before the match. By the end of the month Lance's battle will be done on Patreon as it is the next 4 chapters. (Chapters 11-15 or so)

Damn, i might just have to make a Patreon account now.

I kinda want this SI Brock to get himself a Kleavor. After all Pewter City is all about their appreciation of all things rock and stone. With his SI meta knowledge and Brock's memories he might be able to find himself some Black Augurite to evolve a Scyther.

MC: I choose Brock! *MC jumps in*
Everyone: What? That's against the rules!
MC: No it ain't I am a (B)Rock type pokemon called Brock, Brock, Brock! BRRRROOOOCCCCKKKK!!! *Starts going Super Brockan*

This is kanto. The jigglypuff line is here as well. Actually, what's the word or ruling on Fairy types? Mr.Mine and Togepi aren't counted as fairy until the change in 6th(?) gen.
True, but the Clefa-line has already appeared in the story, so I think it's more likely. As to the Fairy type, we'll know if and when the author decides to tell us, I guess.

I believe lance is going to be introduced to the meta that is weather wars. Good luck beating a tyranitar team with sandstorm up idiot

Also kleavor is a great idea.

Really looking forward to seeing his main battlers, all we know for sure is his starter is now a Tyranitar and he only got to a few regions before being recalled home. Still with gym connections, interactions with people he met abroad, and possibly a in with the Pewter museum he could have other avenues of purchasing and trading Pokémon. A powerful fossil Pokémon or even a dual rock type that is not seen in Kanto or Johto could really throw off Lance, especially if you go with a region variant. Another thing to keep in mind would be with your meta knowledge you could have caught that crystal Onix from the Orange Islands or that Onix with the giant gene that Bruno originally caught at Mt. Hideaway. Either way loving the story, excited to see the changes your version of Brock brings about and seeing how he interacts with the other characters we've yet to see. Keep up the great work 👍

Yo, if this isn't staged then I'll eat my socks. Lance is obviously try to bait Brock. There's no way he doesn't know.
Nah, I don't think so. There's casual disregard and there's straight-up contempt, and this looks like the latter.
Putting down my prediction: A Clefable is gonna sweep half of Lance's dragons.
Clefable ain't rock type, I'm not sure if that's kosher in a gym battle like this.

Carbink is a rock and fairy type. Not legendary or mythic, though they can supposedly evolve into Diancie.

Uncommon, sure, but it would do things to Lance's team that I'd rather not imagine.

Alternatively- Tyranitar does have access to a surprising amount of Electric type attacks to take out that pesky Gyarados that Lance was likely referencing as being able to sweep Brock's team.

And Pseudo-Legendary versus Pseudo-Legendary against Lance's Dragonite should do wonders to cement his position as a Gym Leader that takes his training seriously.

Carbink isn't a bad pokemon either. Also since this is also anime and manga compliant we can see moves do things that they can't do in the video games. Like gyro ball being able to stop water attacks from hitting super effectively, or elec web having mass and elasticity to spider man around. Depending on how far This Brock traveled we could see some really cool teams.

Hell there is so many rock dual types around. Lets see Lance deal with a Rock Dragon. Or Rock Electric, or Rock Fairy.

I now know why Forest needs to be ready to take over suddenly or his dad run the Gym. Brock will FLATTEN Lance.

Brock's likely been using connections to get a variety of Rock types. An easy connection to make would have been professor Oak or other Rock type Gyms in other regions.

A holiday trip with the kids off season to another region could have netted him a few rock types as well. A pet Rockruff could have grown into a respectable sweeper with Dusk or Midday form Lycanroc for example and fast is not something many think of when they hear Rock type.

Brock probably has a fairly low key reputation as he unlike other Kanto Gyms doesn't cause trouble and runs his Gym effectively with no trouble.

A side effect of his comment is Lance is likely not too popular in Pewter city right about now. Him beating a gym leader is expected but he just dismissed the Pewter city gym as not worth the time and one of the weaker gyms. Brock is a well loved and respected community figure so Lance welcome to Pewter may be a bit less friendly than normal.

Edit: Does Brock have Tyranitarite because that would certainly be a surprise to Lance. Mega Tyranitar would not be something Lance would expect especially since Mega evolution should at this point be a relatively unknown phenomenon. Z-moves would also be a nasty surprise to Lance but can only really be gained in Alola.

Depending on the the interpretation, Lance is the bad guy in a number of manga. Working with team Rocket in some even. So his attitude makes sense.

I'm gonna be honest mate, most of what I know about pokemon I learned from a modded minecraft youtube series. I'm gonna need you to expound on that if I'm to have a hope in hades of understanding your meaning.
so in pokemon HG/SS, Blue, who is your rival in Red/Blue is now the 8th gym leader instead of Giovanni... but instead of a single type his team consists of Exeggutor (Grass/Psychic), Arcanine (Fire), Rhydon (Ground/Rock), Gyarados (Flying/Water), Machamp (Fighting), and Pidgeot (Normal/Flying)... and i don't think there is a single type overlap here :/

I think that Brock will be sticking to Rock types only for the duel with Lance regardless of what other pokemon he has. Lance specifically called out Rock-types as being weak and thus Brock will want to use them to prove him wrong.
