It doesn't work without a proper gif!

NOBODY EXPECTS THE RECONQUISTA INQUISITION!!!!!!!!!

Their chief weapons are surprise, fear, delicious cake, snazzy hats, and their fanatical devotion to the Founder!
I've gone here already. See Romalian Inquisition in Sig.

I don't see a problem. It's one thing to know intellectually, its another to think you're about to see it in person. Besides, it's kinda cute. Like "eww, that was more info than I needed".
More or less what's going on. Also note that she wasn't so squicked that she didn't peak :p

Also in a way there is the uncanny valley thing. Dagger dogs etc are animals and that behavior is expected. Fae and humans look a lot like pixies so it is somewhat weirder for Botan.

I thought of it more as a confused "Does THAT really go down there?" with a head tilt.
Pixies do know quite a bit about the animals in their forests, I'm pretty sure Botan has a basic understanding of the mechanics that mammals use to reproduce :p

I'm pretty sure those Pixies were programmed with Belisarius' Maxim on the reproductive behavior of ALO entities, or they'd have an entire host of odd questions by that point.

By the way, are Conen Sydhe rabbit-people like Cait Syth are cat-people or is it a catch-all for demi-Fae?

Bunny people. :D They would have filled the role of 'savage warriors' in ALO and now live in small tribes in seclusion.

But as mentioned by Sakuya previously, we probably wont see much of them in all likeliness, they hide in the deep forests and are largely nocturnal, and really, everyone has enough problems on their plates worrying about the war. Same goes for the Nyriad/Mermpeople who mostly chill and do their own thing along rivers, lakes, and waterways. Now, you might be able to get close to a Mermaid/man while (s)he's sunning him/herself, but they're sort of like cats (i.e. you don't matter to them, at all) and like the Seraphi, they don't show any real ability or desire to communicate using a discernible language though they are intelligent tool users that must have some method of communication.

I figure the Spirits at Ragdorian lake took one look at them, noted that all they did was sleep on the shore and eat fish, and decided they weren't bad neighbors and went on. The Dwarves crawling around in the deep mines and of course, the Jotuns might be a bigger problem. But hey, maybe they'll mine Northward and become Germania's problem in a few generations. :p

Edit: A little more back story.

Coinin Sidhe still possess the use of their wings for flight and can use some simple magic. They would have been a humanoid race in the regions of the Puca and Cait Syth.

Nyriads were basically ALfheim Mermaids and more common around the Undine territory as well as area of Spriggan and Imp territory. They're main adaptation is a powerful tail and wings that have adapted to act as a propulsion method underwater.

Dark Dwarves are vicious little Cannibals (in the sense that they are related to 'Fae' and like to eat them) that live in the middle levels of the underground Corridors and infest the deeper galleries of the Gnome mines. They possess only earth magic but are expert crafters. They're quite capable of crafting Dark Amaglam weapons and can make products nearly as good as the Leprechauns, that is, if you can convince them not to use said products to kill and eat you.

You mean Morgiana found one of their scouts one day and they're many times more secretive than they've ever been. ~ :)

BTW, did you mean 'Nyriad' or 'Naiad' or 'Nereid'? I've never heard of Nyriad though, Naiads being nymphs of fountains and wells and Nereids as nymphs of the sea.

Anyways, now that I look at it, I guess the Elves do have a point when they refer to Halkeginians as barbarians, who'd be so mean as to kill a bunny girl? Or guy? Or even Pixies?

Dwarf Fae-eaters, I'm guessing they live around the Gnome and Leprechaun underground or near Domeeska?

Or are all three types subspecies of Fae like the Coinin Sidhe but like them are paths where evolution kicked them off the tree? If I look at it from a standpoint, Coinin Sidhe are the regressed subspecies of Cait Syth, Merpeople are an Undine subspecies adapted to living most of their lives underwater and sometimes coming to ground, and the Dwarves, well, I'm sure I need not explain it.

I'd say that this acts as a nice assurance against mining abuses even for pure human mines. You need proper badasses down in the deeps, preferably with woodwind instruments. Because fuck tradition. ;)

It does occur that the poachers are ultimately still messing around with a delicate situation and risking pissing off a bunch of mobs and inducing horrible horrible violence. Of course they'll be of the opinion that this is just another feather in the cap of their efforts against Tristain.

I imagine that Tristain on the other hand will be somewhat opposed to this kind of not even slightly thought out harvesting. Though given the Earth Drake Bladder...

Actually, I wonder if that might be a nice excuse to get another Valliere involved in all this, preferably the Duke. We don't see much of him.

Also, they killed a bunny girl and took her family heirloom. These guys need to be stopped, and pay. Very dearly.
It gets worse. My very first mental image when confronted with phrase "bunny girl"?

Kuro Usagi.

Them MONSTERS.

P.S. Even if they would be two hundred years too early to actually do this to her.

Or if you loot their corpses.

What? Kuro Usagi is awesome.
I think he's referring to those who dared to desecrate our sacred Kurousagi.

inb4 the Coinin Sidhe have magical enchantments for skirts that allow them to just barely show panty views without ever showing them-

*SHOT*

And now you know I'm too kind to go stuff a Coinin Sidhe for a rabbit doll for a Vita cosplay, but the Halkeginians aren't as ethically nice as I am. Isn't that nice? ~ :)

On an off-hand note, I am finishing the last touches of Kofu before I transfer her to the computer, all that's left is her back sword sheath and her belt and attached sheathes, on that note, TH's note on that canon Kofu uses a high-spec katana. You can bet yer' bobsleighs it's not Slash Konig. So Kofu is no longer a possible quad-sword-gladiatrix. ~ :(

Though that makes no difference either way.

No.

Coinin Sidhe cosplaying AS Vita.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

Either that, or Coinin Sidhe cosplaying as useless bunny good only for her sex appeal...

What? Kuro Usagi isn't useless.

Wrong bunny, he's referring to one drunk Reisen. Ask me naught about the name of that doujin, I can't recall it, nor where to look for it.

Touching up the sheathes now, the rest I'll retrace on computer. I think I'll go work on someone else then color everything all in one go.

I'm curious about these Coinin Sidhe. I wonder whether there'll be movements for protection or civil rights (depending on their mental capacity) for demi-Fae someday, when the country isn't at war and the landscape grows more industrialized.

There won't be, given the way Halkegenia usually treats non-humans the Fae are just lucky they had something that the Nobles of Tristian needed.
