Cannons - The heavy hitters of any warships arsenal.

These cannons are all able to fire a variety of ammunition, including, ball shot, canister blasts, grape shot, bar shot, and exploding shells.
Would they have had heated shot (explained here) as well? A fire mage could do the heating, and note the last line
A common practice with heated shot was to fire it with a reduced charge of gunpowder; this would cause the shot to lodge in the wood of the target ship rather than penetrating it, and also cause greater splitting and splintering of the wood.
If it lodges in the hull then it could potentially start a fire despite the wards.

Well, guessing the ages for the unstated Caramella and Aki, both are of the 14-18 age size that seemed to be the common age for SAO players.

But before taking any chances, there can only be one thing to do... Confirm it with TH.
Actually both Caramella and Aki were probably around 18 when SAO started so they'd be nineteen or twenty by now. (Though in SAO terms that means they'd still look like their eighteen year old selves). I also don't know how 'Dead' looking Aki should be considering she looks pretty convincingly alive. Though if its artistic license feel free.

And if you'll notice how extra-dull that sword is (And by my standards that's EXCEPTIONALLY with capitals, bolds, and italics dull.), you'll realize why I'm asking if Arguile's using the same equipment. I will likely need the straitjacket to strangle myself with.

And that is why it's awfully convenient to have a TH signal in the sky with Professor Hyuuga's silhouette on it. Maybe add a megaphone to it next time.

To look so convincingly alive and at the same time being dead equates noticeably eerie.

BTW, when they were transferred, they didn't get an appropriate aging up? I mean, take a close look at Asuna Knights of Blood variant and Maeve variant, you'll notice she's slightly taller, her eyes are smaller (A common used method to show age.), and her proportions are equally aged up. Then again, it's Sugou, he likely wanted her to fit her outside-game body so he'd have more fun molesting her.

Aki as Yuno... Hrm, so who is the Yuki in this case?

That said, I had a weird thought where Kino's style of combat reminded me of Thorfinn from the Vinland Saga series.

Asuna, Yes, the others no. In fact we know that he put a great deal of effort into making Asuna's ALfheim avatar resemble her real world self, or at least a healthy version of her real world self. He'd have no reason to do anything to the character data of the remaining players.

Okay, noted, which reminds me to ask. The chalice popped them all on Albion as new Fae, but what are their races anyway? Some Fae races have pointier ears, and judging by descriptions, none of them are Cait Syth.

Also, the Arguile's sword question? Was his equipment same or did they change some of their equipment up the top of the tree?

Wells wakes up with a disturbingly happy-er Aki straddling his stomach?

Why do I see that being his braking point? Fuck it! I'm switching sides!
I'm sure there are some people who want a Wells = Ragna, and Aki = Nu-13 hijinks, unfortunately I'm good at ideas but not so good at writing. Someone ought' to go write that.

Hm...so that's horror and humor out the door.

Aha, I have an idea for WAFF, but I'll be taking some liberties/almost certainly wandering non-canonical here.

They're technically not a part of any of the Alfheim races. Here's what their wings are like.
"Dunwell!" Sword tip driving against the barrier, Caramella was at Asuna's side, a set of four angular white symmetrical wings stretching from her back. "You killed my partner!" The swordswoman roared. "Your ass is mine!"
I don't know why, but I keep thinking that they have the same wings as the Guardians of the World Tree.

From Chapter 4 Part 4
"In order to use the [<chalice of rebirth]> a player needs the permission of their new faction's leader and must surrender a large sum of money." The slug explained.
...
"There's a bug in the [<chalice of rebirth]> that the programmers haven't gotten around to fixing yet. Someone who steps into the chalice without the necessary funds or the permission of a Faction leader will be transported to their current faction's Capitol. However none of you have a faction, with the exception of Asuna-sama's avatar, your avatars are all set to the default template."
...
The thing that all of our avatars share is that they do not have a default re-spawn location, they can only be spawned with console commands. When the rebirth feature was being tested, the game testers tried it on all of the races including the default template. The default template users regularly ended up teleporting to the highest point in the Heimdoll shield that surrounds the World Tree."
Seems like they didn't change race at all as none of them met the prerequisites to do so. Other than Asuna they're all "default template" fae.

They did't switch out gear since they had no idea what any of the equipment in the tree would do. The unknown is a bit more dangerous in this case. Feel free to take liberties with the sword however.

I thought we wouldn't find out their race until their colored wings came out. I mean they wouldn't be Puca. Unless they're all like Asuna, and Asuna shouldn't have a flight limit in the first place thanks to the Titania temple she took up.

As others have said they are all the default template aside from Asuna who is a [Maev]. From what little descriptions they have, just stick pointy the standard pointy ears an any one of them.

Should be interesting when they hit Tristain and start interacting with the standard fae races. Game mechanics and fluff history wise these default templates/initial forms of the Fae:
They chose to turn their backs on Yggdrasil-sama's song, swearing their allegiance to Titania and Oberon, and were reborn as the first Fae."
are supposed to become one of the nine races. For all we know they might not even need the chalice if they want to officially join one of the factions. Fae are fluff-wise descended from pixies, if altered by Oberon and Titania's powers, so the SAOers might undergo a sort of 'blossoming' into the race that they mentally and spiritually align the most with over time.

Unfortunately she doesn't seem to be an animal lover, so we would be unlikely to get cat-girl Caramella.:(

Default race (that all other races were based on before limitations and specialties were put in probably).

Closest thing they would be are the Alfs, who are supposed to have infinite flight.

Link to the specific post.
As I've pointed out before, we already have an example of what their wings look like. Once again, here's the description of Caramella's wings.
"Dunwell!" Sword tip driving against the barrier, Caramella was at Asuna's side, a set of four angular white symmetrical wings stretching from her back. "You killed my partner!" The swordswoman roared. "Your ass is mine!"
So they're not any of the regular Alfheim races. They're not Maeves because Maeves have six wings. They're not Alf's, those have two feathery wings. Really the only thing I can think of with wings like that are the Guardians of the World Tree.

... You know that'll probably lead to some weird paralells again. Since the Guardians supposedly serve the Fairy King and Queen. And here they are serving Asuna.

Speaking of which, I picked the wrong day to remember Mel Brooks...

*Wells wakes up in the middle of the night to see Aki on top of him.*

Aki: Wells-sama, I know you love me, that's why you chose me to be blessed by the Founder's light isn't it? ~ ❤

Wells: Aki, I killed you, and I'm already regretting that, and you're dead.

*Wells tries pushing off Aki, except being dead her Fae strength is unrestrained and very much like iron.*

Aki: Don't worry Wells-sama, I'm not dead, I'm undead. ~ ❤

Wells: And I'm not unregretful I killed you.

*Wells pushes even harder, trying to gain space to reach for his foci, Aki moves closer but Wells gains enough space to move his hand a little.*

Aki: Wells-sama, a girl's happiness is to become a mother isn't it?

Wells: Aki, I am an Albionese Knight, when I took up my post, I swore to take up her ideals of honor and dignity, and to safeguard her chastity against-

*Aki's grin becomes wider as she completely misreads that statement and presses him into his bed even harder.*

Aki: If it's chastity you want I'm still good! ~ ❤

Years later, Commander Wells was regarded as one of the greatest and most noble of officers Albion had ever seen, yet, for all his status as a paragon of virtue, his men noted behind his back how he never seemed to show any interest in women, if only they knew what he had to endure during Reconquista's short lived reign...

Oh come on. Her personality? She'd be a salamander for sure.

Kino spec imp, spriggan, or Sylph for stealthiness.

Definitely Spriggan. One of their racial skills is Multiple Weapon Specialization, the ability to effectively use all weapons, it fits with Kino's all-rounder mutlirole build perfectly, combined with his preference for that shady look, it's a clear fit.
