Halkegenia Online Thread 24 : WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM

Also my word am I curious what Akela thinks of all the stuff going on around him. Though I suppose his memories probably don't include enough details of how Faeries act for him to see how weird their cities have become.
Eh, Wolf is a lot smarter than any earthly dog, but his intellect is still constructed a lot more along dog/wolf lines than human. There are things he just wouldn't know and also just wouldn't care about.

He does love GiNo though, very much. She's something like a pack sister to him. Which . . . may explain some of GiNo's weirdness too. Literally adopted as an anxiety ridden young adult by a wolf.

GiNo's probably lucky that, being a magical low level boss, Akela is probably far longer lived than a normal dog or wolf.

What do you mean boss?
I dont remember you saying he is anything other then regular mob....
-Looks back-

You are totally right.

Less a boss and more a 'unique' version of a fairly powerful field mob.

In either case he's still basically a magical Fae wolf so good odds he enjoys an extended lifespan barring a violent death.

...would he age in the same way, by the same mechanisms, as a faerie perhaps?

Because that would present some very amusing possibilities for the distant future retirement days of him and GiNo.

Hmm, so thus far the bulk thefts are still being attributed to Kurotsune, for lack of another suspect, or clues that would point to one. I guess he's simply refused to comment specific charges thus far, though he's at least acknowledged to have been searching for artifacts that have detection/observation/searching(?) qualities.

Still, Kurotsune is being too cryptic, and thus denying investigators new threads to pick at to unravel the case properly. I figure the best bet for the next step is to research whatever is known about the ALO implemented and "unofficial" lore/quests.

It could well be, that Kurotsune is being driven by quest "loose ends", similar to the Mermaid leader from the "Beach Episode (was mermaids, iirc) who had still been looking for her husband/mate as according to her quest line. Tragically, he'd never really existed, as the script has him dead from the beginning, and thus there isn't even a body to bury post Transition. So, whatever Kurotsune seems to be looking for, may not even exist...

Somber, but moving backstory for GiNo, but things seem to be working out better for her and Akela now.

Wolf: "Wait, you're downgrading me?!"

TH: "Just think of it as you're being let go, that your life's going in a different direction, that your status is part of a permanent outplacement."

And the fox is quoting The Little Prince. The same book Yui was reading. And GiNo has used up an entire lifetime worth of luck.

GiNo also aludes to the Little Prince. In particular about her casting of bonds with Wolf and how good the water tasted after they were saved.

Hint : In the Little Prince, water and sating thirst is an oft repeated symbol for spiritual fulfilment.

I'm partly wondering the Kurotsune even volunteered as much information as he did… (It fits with the direction the plot was moving, both internally and as discussed, but he isn't a very trusting person — at least not yet.)

They alread knew he was searching for something. And he basically told them nothing of its nature.

He's desperate (at least in his own mind) and he was offering a morsel that reveals nothing to gauge how the Fae respond.

Hint : "Oh it must be a valuable artifact!" would be the dead wrong answer to give.

There's actually a specific hormone cycle for humans near the end of pregnancy that loosens ligaments and slackens tendons to allow the pelvis to distend more- it's related to how it becomes harder to walk and easier to dislocate things close to birth. So sobering similar would likely have similar drawbacks.

This just makes me imagine Fae become very elastic and squishy in the last couple months of pregnancy. Like all over.

Cheek pinching becomes very popular to do with pregnant friends as their baby showers :V

This might actually be a thing considering that Fae musculature and body structure are so strong and probably rigid to accommodate their strength. The hormones will have to be more intense in order to get the body ready for birthing.

Well better get Tray-Nor ready to go if there are going to be that many people there(internet cookies for whoever gets the ref)

It is going to be fascinating, and something I'm very interested to see, when the first new generation of Fae are born, get older and seeing them develop, since they don't have any connection to the "legendary plain of IRL" aside from stories from their parents and have been Fae since birth.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this too. I'm also interested in seeing if the fae would return to being human if they were returned to earth.
