Game of Thrones Fan Fic Rec and Idea Thread. All Men/Canon Must Die

Not to mention they're pretty much the most powerful family by default, and considering their intentions (The Iron Throne), they're largely unsympathetic.

I had dream a few weeks ago; wherein Richard Sharpe killed Lannisters. Looooooooots of Lannisters. It was glorious, and I wish I could write half a damn.

Okay I posted this on the Quest Ideas and have been going on SB asking questions so...

I have 4 options on doing a Warhammer Fantasy/40k crossover. It's really hard to choose cause its:

A GEoMlite guiding humanity throught the Asoiaf history, NeutralChaos!North with one of the options being invading Valyria at its height, A Primarch landing in Planetos with being adopted and raised by anyone(cept Ironborn, fuck those guys), or the remaining Loyalist Thousand Sons crash landing in Planetos.

Did anyone consider a Dark Souls 2 crossover?

Maybe have Eddard Stark as the chosen undead after his execution, his soul being cast for some reason to Drangleic.

It might be interesting to portrait such a story post-game, when he is about to claim the throne of want and displace him back to his homeworld.

It's probably overall silly, but I just find the thought of undead monarch Ned followed by the emerald herald traveling Westeros funny.

It would also cast odd implications towards certain prophecies when you have a lightning or flame wielding individual walking around.

Targaryen AU/Crack: WI Aerys II's madness was different? Instead of turning into raving pyromaniac, he breaks the Fourth Wall and realizes that he is fictional character in fiction written by cruel writer.

Sounds awesome.

The King with a Mouth? King Deadpool the first.

A Primarch landing in Planetos with being adopted and raised by anyone(cept Ironborn, fuck those guys)
Ideas off that idea :
Angron as AU!Grey Worm(so a much calmer shade of slave-warrior)
Konrad Bolton
Faceless Corax
Lorgar raised by the Mannis. Or in Volantis by followers of R'hllor. But preferably the Mannis.

I'll save those ideas later, since i created the GEoMlite in westeros quest.

As I recall, isn't Sharpe Blond and green-eyed?

The Bastard of the rock, Ser Richard Sharpe, (Hill) . Hated by Tywin as his Bastard brother by a common woman, Richard Sharpe comes back to the Rock to take it over and whack his prick of a brother over the head till he dies of it.

Instead of having it as a crossover make it a Fusion.

The Dorthraki are Centaurs, they've enslaved the Tauren. The White Walkers are the Scourge. The North has Night Elves, Dorne has Trolls, Essos has Orcs but Valyria had Dragonspawn. Andals are Humans.

Make the Valyrians Trolls for that extra lol factor. Considering they also had the massive empire that was shattered due to cataclysmic events, and later by their king doing something retarded to further shatter their fragile rule, the entire story fits perfectly!

Goddammit with all the North. They're dominating fanfiction, we need to find an alternative to the North!

That brings up a question I've had. IS there a way to make the Riverlands actually capable of defending themselves without relying on outside help? I think a strong Riverlands capable of fighting its own battles and defending its own borders would be pretty interesting, if you could justify it somehow. It would certainly have changed how Aegon's campaigns happened, if nothing else, and who knows what the houses that were rendered extinct by the curse of Harrenhal might have done if they never got that particular poisoned chalice?

well for one thing you might have an actual competent liege lord instead of Harren "Hothead" Hoare who has good control over the area. The Riverlands are a large and fertile region, but their main problems are lack of central cohesion (they haven't been independent in ages unlike most of the seven kingdoms) and indefensibility- but the Reach has partially the same problem in that it's surrounded by enemies, but that never stopped the Gardeners from wrecking their foes over and over again. So basically what you need is:

1) A centralized and secure liege who has no problems getting his vassals to do his bidding
2) Utilizing the river network in a proactive way to make the Riverlands the heart of commerce ala Flanders in the late middle ages, but that's difficult
3) probably some sort of fortified march network on the edges which can stall enemies until such time as the levies are gathered

Edmure just fucked up really bad early since he was an inexperienced dude trying to save a lot of people and ended up getting a hole punched in his kingdom.

Here's how you can defend the riverlands with forts.

Apparently I do not know how to upload pictures. will try and figure that out.

It'd help if the Riverlands had someone in charge capable of reining in the River Lords. Decentralization is a problem in most of the regions but the Riverlands seem to have a worse case than most.

For example, it's a place where two of the mightiest families have been able to feud on and off for centuries, with predictable results whenever invaders came sweeping in.

Hey guys I'm here representing A Dance with Dragons: An ASOIAF NG. This is a nation game and roleplaying combination, in other words it's a combination of a simulation of playing entire factions and commanding their armies and such combined with having your leaders and other improtant characters as part of rich RP. Obviously this is set in the Dance of Dragons, however in the short week or two we've been playing thanks to some Aegon stupidity the world's spiraled far away from canon. And will continue to do so. So please come on down and play in this vibrant NGRP as the Boltons, the Royces, the Yronwoods, Yi Ti, Norvos, etc.

I thought you guys might be interested, because it's a quasi-fan fic thing.

Don't know if this qualifies for this, but summary of the shenanigans?

Storm's End went like this: Borros pisses off blacks, blacks light his castle on fire, Aemond tries to stop them, he and the Queen who never was and their dragons die, but Daemon and his dragon limp back to Dragonstone
Raleign Borros' successor was super pissed and declared independence
Aegon sorta went to the Iron Islands believing friends, and they killed him, kipnapped his daughter and his dragon ran away after killing like a hundred of them.
After that the Green cause fell apart except for a few pockets of Green resistance that fell apart later
Blacks enter KL
Stormlanders go to attack KL, but the Blacks attack them in the night and win pyrhhic victory. Addam Velyron and his dragon are killed, Jacerys (or whatever) is wounded, but his dragon dies
Oh and Helaena is going to marry Jace and some other Green Black marriages have been arranged

In Essos

Volantis is attacking Three Daughters
New Khalasar is rising
Something funky is going down in Slaver's Bay

EDIT: Yeah from an outside point of view it is hilarious, but when you're playing the game it's all quite terrifying

It occurs that trying to attack across a river is generally all kinds of a pain in the ass, this is even already a thing with the Twins holding the entire approach from the North apparently. Would it be possible to juggle the maps and geography so that the Riverlands actually lives up to its name in a way that it is exceedingly difficult for any attacker to get at the juicy bits before the fractious river lords pull together to beat the crap out of the unwanted outsider, or the three neighboring lords go after the attacker's territory of their own initiative while his army is in the field if they are too uncooperative to actually form common cause?

Naturally dragons forced them to sullenly bend the knee to the crown while going back to their normal behavior whenever there wasn't a Targaeryan hovering overhead, so it shouldn't be any real issue with changing the world into something unrecognizable.

Is this thread the same as regards to 'Song of Ice and Fire', or is it TV series only? I have an idea but it may spoil those who haven't read book 5. Can I post the idea here if so?

Yeah you can post it.
Thanks. Posting from SB.

Anyways, I have an idea that crosses over Warcraft with ASOIAF/GoT, in which Jon Snow is sent into Azeroth. He can be brought in via Jaina summoning or her portal spell gone awry in 2 ways:

1. Jon Snow in the wilderness finds the 'rabbit hole' or so to speak on Jaina's summoning. Falls in. This will lead to him trying to find a way back home.

2. when he is bleeding out when stabbed by his own brothers when he tried to rally a force to head south to finally give Ramsay the fuck off and then falls through.

If 1, Ghost would be with Jon, and he would end up in the Barrens, trying to fight for his life against the Razorfen. In battle, Rexxar would observe and then jump in, saving Jon's life. If 2, no Ghost and he's found on the brink of death by Rexxar and healed. At camp, Jon explains his story to Rexxar(after a good deal of surprise for both 1 and 2, though Rexxar is civil). Cue some exposition here and there, and Rexxar would take Jon to Thrall for answers on where is he and his situation. Of course they go through Orgrimmar, Jon not touched but glared at(having the Champion of the Horde as your escort helps) and has the odd stone or tomato thrown at. Arrives at Thrall's keep and Rexxar explains the situation, and Jon and Thrall talk. Thrall surmises this was the work of Jaina, though not by mistake as the woman isn't malicious, and Thrall points Jon the way towards Theramore, though not for a night in his personal keep for rest and recovery. There Jon makes acquaintances with Thrall and Vol'Jin, and learn how barbaric his human side has been(though he surmises that its basically human error and greed, just like in his own world) and that he may never come back to his own world again(if 2, he is bitter as he was betrayed by his brothers and may contemplate staying. If 1, he will need to find a way home). Thus Rexxar and him go on a journey to Theramore and arrive, the two becoming friends as Rexxar delivers him to Jaina Proudmoore, who expresses deep regret for displacing Jon and wants to make up for it and allows him to stay in Theramore as much as he likes. Seeing as this is Jon, he will earn his keep to help and joins the Theramore Guard, and events here and there will make him rise through the ranks to become Theramore's Commander.

Jon would have a profound influence on the Warcraft world as Commander of Theramore's Guard, which would include his numerous deeds of:

-Slaying Onyxia as he is involved in bringing Varian Wyrn back to Stormwind. He leads the party in slaying her(Rexxar helping out too).
-Leading the Alliance forces on Ahn'Qiraj at Jaina and Varian's request. First time commanding an massive army.
-Maintaining a good relationship with the Horde. This does put him at odds with many Alliance commanders and leaders, but he is invaluable in peace making.
-Being likable with Champions from both sides(You know....WoW players in a sense. He hires champions to help assist his strike force/AQ army and is considered very 'likable' and what not).
-On Jaina's request, leads a small team into Karazhan to purge the demon threat within. Could go solo, or with a small party of sorts.
-Holds down the fort whenever Jaina is away, being an effective leader.
-Is involved during the Wrathgate incident, helping Jaina ensure that war does not break out between Varian and the Horde during their allied assault on the Scourge.
-Jon is one of the main soldiers in leading the champions of the Allaince into Icecrown, doing those three dungeons before doing the raid. He and Rexxar even have an allied force(made in secret by Thrall and Jaina, so they went behind Varian and Garrosh's backs). Of course, after Jon defeats Arthas with Fordring, Jaina, Rexxar, and other champions and forces of the Ashen Verdict. As you can see, Rexxar and Jon are going to become bros.
-Here is where I am torn here: continue the story post Arthas and go into Cataclysm and Pandaria or not. Jon and Jaina could start a family, and the tension between Varian and Jon would soften(due to Jon's being friendly with the Horde). But the most important one here is Garrosh. Whether or not Jon or Rexxar allow Garrosh's plan to nuke Theramore I am not sure what to do. Jon, by that time, will be treated like a King of Theramore and loved dearly by all. If he sees it destroyed he would have lost his family/brothers in arms all over again, but then again, he maybe the only on stopping Jaina from becoming like Garrosh, or she to prevent Jon from being Garrosh. Of course, this sets up another clash between a Sha empowered Garrosh and a very powerful and skilled Jon Snow.

Over time, Jon learns many things from Jaina, including her past relationships with Arthas and Kael'thas, and how each one ended in suffering and despite the slowly growing bond between the two, both feel uneasy of committing, in part due to past troubles: Jaina with Arthas and Kael, and Jon with Ygritte. They do slowly overcome these barriers over time though, time and again they commit.

Oh, and Jon gets along easy with Dragons, so I'm rolling with R+L approach here.

So, thoughts on this?
