Time.....how long ago was it? Two, three years since it all began? Yeah...you were pretty sure that was right...
Three years....sounded about right....

Three years ago is when they came. No one knew, or even knows, quite what they were, or what their intentions were when they arrived. They were monstrosities, demons that had been coughed up from the bleak and blackened depths of hell to come and destroy all that humanity knew and loved. Their reach was limited, however, as they only operated seemingly on water, not daring to set foot on any human landmass for more reasons than one. You assumed one of such reasons was the tremendous amount of defenses that had been set up around human ports, but there was probably more to it than that. Humanity...didn't quite have a reaction for them, their high-tech weaponry only proving to eliminate a dozen of them before hundreds more sprang up in their fallen comrades' places.

Humanity also gave them names. You thought this was strange...but, then again, how could you understand? You weren't human.

They called them 'Abyssals'. Fitting, you supposed, as these creatures looked as if they had dwelled in the waters below for centuries before surfacing for the first times. They appeared to have no sense of morals, no code to dictate their actions, and no way of determine what was right or wrong to do. They just...killed. They killed, and slaughtered; not stopping until humanity itself stood at the brink of extinction; it's oceanic supply lines severed entirely. No commerce could be made.

But then, the others came.

Humanity revered them as saviors, for the most part, due to their actions against the Abyssal menace. These ones looked human as well, and quite beautiful too, barring the bulky equipment most of them carried. They were like the Angelic twin of the Abyssals, coming to bring about horrid vengeance as the protectors of all human kind. They shared the names of warships from long ago, from the smallest Destroyer to the Mightiest Battleship, they were identified as such.

They were the Kanmusu.

And you had come with them.

You were...err...what was the human word? A Fairy! That's right! You were a Fairy! You were a pilot! And you served on a Carrier! Hehe....jeez, you were having trouble remembering things now..well, shit was pretty hectic the past few weeks....at least you remembered your own name.

William Crowe.

Why the hell you had that kinda name while you serve on a Japanese Carrier eludes you to this day.

Yep, William Crowe, pilot of a.....

[] Torpedo Bomber. Low, slow, heavy, and one hell of a hard hitter.
[] Dive Bomber. Death from above, bitches!
[] Fighter. Fuck you, and you, and you, and especially you!
[] Recon. I SEEEEE YOOOUUUU!
[] Night Recon. I STILL SEE YOU!

Standard SV rules apply.
Don't be a dick.
Holy hell, I'm bad at this.

[x] Fighter. Fuck you, and you, and you, and especially you!

We have 2x 50cal machine gun in our plane, what's better thing to do than to shred those fish like planes to shred?

[X] Fighter. Fuck you, and you, and you, and especially you!

Ahahaha time for shootin' them abyssals! Like those Takoyaki! Especially those Takoyaki!

@NuclearNickel
More serious questions though, do Fairies respawn a set period of time after they go down or do new Fairies spawn to replace them?

Could a fairy be stranded in the sea if the plane is shot down?

Is this particular setting more hopeful, grim or in between?

And then there's the question of which particular Carrier we are on. For now we're only sure of being on a Jap Carrier.

Now I am reminded of that pic where 3 Fighters wiped out over 7/8 Fighter Sprites. Dat Shoukaku smug look.

New ones spawn to replace them.
They can be stranded, but they typically don't survive very long without their planes.
A little bit more hopeful.
We're voting on that.

Ace Fairy Fighter

Are we allowed to post alternatives? Lets get our War Thunder on!
B7A2 torpedo bomber. Slow, but quite manuverable for its size. Also comes with 4 20mm cannons.

Ki-102, the bomber-hunter. Would probably need modification to be carrier capable. Answers the question "what if we strapped wings to a tank cannon," with its 57mm gun. Also has 2 20mm guns. Unfortunately, you wont be outmanuvering any fighters, so hope you have a good tail gunner.
It's smaller brother, the ki-49, is more manuverable, but with "only" a 37mm gun along with a single 20mm.

[X] Fighter. Fuck you, and you, and you, and especially you!

Good luck and have fun. Always remember the fun.

[X] Night Recon. I STILL SEE YOU!

Is there actually a carrier-based night recon plane? In the game there is only a night recon plane based in surface ships.

CV's and CVL's, which one to chose? (Entry 2)
Annnd, this took longer than expected.

Winning Vote: Fighter.

Yep, William Crowe; Fighter Pilot. You were a skilled reaper of the skies, death on a flying metal chariot with 50. Cal Machine guns. You were a fighter pilot that was fairly well known amongst the other fairies, as a matter of fact, due to your actions while attacking the Base MI, shooting own twelve enemy planes, two being torpedo bombers, before you were finally forced to land again. Your entire wing was actually known for rescuing the Destroyer Kisaragi from an enemy divebomber, your wing leader scoring the killing blow while he laughed his ass off in glee.

He always did have some sixth sense of danger.

Good thing you guys were in the area with your Carrier. Patrol routes can be convenient, after all.

William Crowe, Fighter pilot, stationed on the Carrier....

[] Akagi. You tended to have inexperienced crew members, however, due to how much she gets sent out....and all the planes she loses. You do get a lot of action, though.
[] Kaga. She's calm, collected, and tactical. Her secret desire to outperform Carrier Division Five has gotten you in a lot of tight scenarios, though...
[] Shoukaku. She's damn good at what she does, and she doesn't half ass anything either. She tends to get targeted a lot, however...
[] Zuikaku. She ain't called the Luck Ship for nothing. As long as your part of her air wing, it's like RNGesus is in the co-pilot's seat. Her arrogance and hunger to beat Carrier Division One hasn't worked out all to well for you sometimes...
[] Unryuu. Not a lot goes on here. She rarely gets sent out and you just hang around most of the time. Not a lot of action, but some.
[] Katsuragi. Same as Unryuu, you don't really do a lot.
[] Amagi. Same as her sisters....weird.
[] Chiyoda. Lot's of fighter escorting gigs. Lots of em'.
[] Chitose. Same as her sister.
[] Shouhou. TORPEDO BOMBERS. EVERYWHERE.
[] Hoshou. Now here...is an odd one. Your deployments are sporadic, and you never really know what you're doing until you get there.

Yep. I tweaked the canon.
Because convenience, yo.

Nothing beats having RNGesus' favor, especially in Kancolle. Also Zuikaku is based crane.
