Forgotten Hunter Vs. The World [Pacific Rim/Evangelion/Big O tribute]

A successful parry will be better than a successful block, basically.

I'm thinking we'll need to use the plasmacasters to try and even out the strikes and hopefully get the momentum back on our side. Electrical damage has a chance to stun or do other nasty effects.

Not sure how good it does us, since apparently they're also impossible to obtain.

And yeah, I suppose the plasmacasters will have to do. Crude, but I guess we're in no position to be picky.

[X] Attack!
- [X] Plasmacasters! Whatever those are!

You swing your arms, trying to deflect the blow away from you! But years of disuse and a glaring lack of operational experience make their consequence clear. The monster's bladed head jolts to the side, before slashing sideways into the ancient machine's skull!

Hit to the Cockpit! 8 damage! High Penetration ignores AV! Minor Wound inflicted! Cockpit Armour destroyed!
Hunter takes 3 Strikes! Hunter gains 1 Ongoing Strikes!

Wound has no effect!
ummm could you use a different blue, please? I use flexdark and this shade is basically impossible to read without highlighting.

The difference between a parry and a block is if a parry is successful, we get to make an immediate counterattack that doesn't use up actions next turn. High risk, high reward option.

Hardly impossible to obtain, just trying to parry them when they are charging tends to be a bad idea, since whoever is charging get a bonus to their attack roll.

Roll me a 1d10+4 for firing at point blank range, a 1d5 for damage bonus, a 2d10 for a location, and a 1d10-1 for overheating.

Time to rip this Kaiju to pieces! Or explode it, as may be the case.

Firing at point blank range...
Macros threw 1 10-faced dice. Reason: Point Blank Range Total: 6

Rakketan defeated! Heck yes!

You squeak, and the Hunter's arm smashes into the monster's side! The armour seperates, and the hand breaks open, splitting into a three pronged cannon! Against the howling wind and snarling beast, you can make out the voice screeching something about plasma.

A second later, the world goes white.

Hit to Spine! 8 damage! High Penetration ignores primary AV! -1 damage from secondary AV! Major Wound inflicted! Rakketan takes 5 Strikes! Rakketan gains 3 Ongoing Strikes! Rakketan is Paralysed! Rakketan takes 10 Temporary Strikes!

When the light dims, the monster's corpse lays on the ground, its body torn in half by the blast. The edges of the rent hiss and smoke, evil-smelling smoke pouring from the wound.

It's very, very dead.

Unknown Classification, Rakketan has been Defeated!

Victory Options:
[ ] Sit down, catch breath, pass out.
[ ] You should probably go down and make sure everyone's okay. Including you. Especially you.
[ ] Go down there, and bring the monster corpse with you.

[X] Go down there, and bring the monster corpse with you.

All in all, I'd say this was a very impressive debut for Katie.

Waah?

... well, that turned around rather quickly.

[X] Sit down, catch breath, pass out.

Honestly? That sounds like the sane option.

[X] Sit down, catch breath, pass out.

I think bringing the toxic Kaiju corpse into the city is a bad idea.
