Okay, so this time I thought I'd use dice instead to break the tie (using online dice, I do know SV has a dice-roller somewhere but I can't seem to find it). Rolling 3d2 got me a 2 for Kristen, 1 for Cosmic and another 2 for Xihe, the 1 for SAB and the 2 for Arthur.

Er, the number 1 was a stand-in for your vote, meaning that I will be going with your plan for Cosmic.
That's actually what I meant. I can still hope for Bloodknight Cosmic cause we're going with a more offensive lookout off the bat. For both this one and the Gargoyle come to think of it.

Dice Roller is also under the More options button down on the bottom right of one of your posts.

VIII. Judge vs Judge.
(QM's Note: Tomyris was the name I decided on for SAB's first Plan Shadow submission, Kassandane for the second one)

As for me, I was face to face with...

"T-Tomyris?" I exclaimed, staring at my black-haired, white-clad cousin.

"So then, finally doing your job, eh 'cous?" she spat out at me as she unsheathed her blade "Like me y'know something weird must be up in this Colosseum".

"What the- Something weird?" I tried to say before I quickly had to dodge, not like that did much good as Tomyris d'Ultima promptly spun on her heel and swung at my backside.

"How about I tell you if you beat me, since you're a fan of games, aren't you? Anyway, this is why I don't like fighting relatives" Tomyris laughed down at me "Oh, not because we're one big happy family, Crystal forbid, but because where's the challenge in fighting someone who you already know everything about?".

I reached for a Potion to heal myself of that slash she gave me, but she just said "Nuh uh, as Judge I Forbid Items".

"Items are legal again" I shot back with and used the Potion anyway "Well my dear Tommy, you seemed to have forgotten as Judge too you're Laws are useless against me!" I then delivered a massive swipe at her, but before I could hit she Jumped up and vanished into the ceiling's shadows.

Kristen, having managed to locate what looked like a military-style super-soaker, sprayed the Bomb all over. Though while the Bomb seemed to reel backwards, that still seemed to do nothing to stop it growing bigger and bigger.

Then he had an idea, not to defeat it with the super-soaker, but to keep it pinned against the wall until it exploded. He stepped back until he had the most range the soaker could give him away from the Bomb, until at last...

The Feral Chocobo let out a high-pitched "Kweh!" at the sound of an explosion that could be heard all the way in this arena. With it distracted, Cosmic tried to see if she could possess that old knight armour just like she'd heard poltergeists could. Of course she knew she could now be physically damaged inside this armour, but could also deal close-up damage in return.

Raising her voice enough for the knight's mace to start vibrating, she swung without even getting the chance to look where she was hitting. It turned she'd landed a strike right on the back of the Chocobo's skull, sending it keeling over.
"I, w-what did I do just then?" Cosmic muttered aghast.

The Chocobo's shriek and that loud explosion didn't help Elatha to concentrate on his fire-starting, on top of already dealing with that Cactuar's machine-gun needles. He'd switched for this fight from Ranger to Black Mage, the latter being one of the Jobs natural to almost everyone, and begun casting Fire on any stick or leaf scattered about the area, throwing an Aero on to feed the flames higher.
The fidgety Jumbo Cactuar soon found itself running in circles, his eyes blinking rapidly as it was soon surrounded by smoke and pinned in by the blaze.

Speaking of plant enemies, the Doktor, having Junctioned everything to his Status Resistance, leaped forth and placed his hand right down the Marlboro's throat. In response the creature fast sent out a Bad Breath, toxic fumes almost reaching through the mysterious bird-faced-man's mask, he definitely knew that even with his Status Junctioning he would not be getting away fully clean, but then when ever did he?

Still, with his arm down the Marlboro as far as he could go, he snapped his fingers to ignite multiple bright-white Holy blasts in the plant's innards, it soon shrieking in agony.

Amidst all this fighting, Xihe simply sat down in the lotus position and said to the Tonberry "Sorry, but my goal has always been to deliver exciting action for the audience, so to that I'd probably be better suited to fighting someone else. Hope that's okay?".

The Tonberry blinked for a second, before resuming its inch-by-inch advance. Luckily for Xihe, it was then a ringing toll could be heard...

That still left me with Tomyris, as I re-equipped myself with an Iron Shield and my Lawhammer. I figured that if I couldn't predict where she'd rocket down, I could at least shield against her impact.

Sure enough she came right down on top of me, but rather than be stopped by the shield she seemed to press down on it even harder. Wait, was she trying to crush me under its weight.

I immediately threw the shield over to the wall and switched back to my Judgement Blade. But Tomyris just leaped off that wall and was now flying back towards me. I figured she'd at least not be able to land on top of me, so I began spinning in a circle with my sword. But seeing this, she just dropped to the floor and slashed at my feet.

With that I dropped back to the ground again, I knew I'd lose if I didn't think of something quick...

*Palpatine Voice* Good, good. Ahaha!

:V

Honestly, glad we have some allies. And Tomyris is probably going to hand us our ass cause she lives and breaths the fight... and also has Trance and Limit Break. Probably.

[X] Limit Break!

Our MC really isn't a fighter primarily, so I think Trance might be wasted a bit more than Limit Break.

Though more readers would be welcome, I don't really mind having a smaller following if that following is genuinely enthusiastic, which most of who I have seem to be.

IX. Atma Flare.
Well, one of the few things I had left at this point.

"My next strike has no weakness! Atma Flare!" I roared out, my eyes glowing gold.

"A-Arte-Aaah!" Tomyris' own eyes went wide, but none could resist the most advanced technique of an Ultima, not even... er, another Ultima.

At first I launched an infernal slash from her left, then a current torrent of a swing from her right. Launched her up high with a rock-solid upward blow, then back to the ground with an aerial crusher. Lastly, I drove a burst of piercing starlight right through her!

My... my entire vision went blank white after that. Clutching my aching head, I stumbled to my feet again as my sight slowly came back to me. First ting I saw was Tomyris right across from me, my attack had gone far as to cause some unintentionally severe scars, yet even then she was still able to stand.

"You'd use, one of the Ultima's most treasured techniques... against another Ultima? Heh, in the end you really hold nothing back. The other Nobles would be shocked, or probably say it's natural a Linage with no Crystal would use such cheap tactics. Personally though," despite bleeding all over, Tomyris smiled "Least this gives me one thing I can respect about you, don't push your luck though Cousin".

She unsheathed her sword again in the blink of an eye "Especially since even a Limit Break isn't enough to beat me! Hiyaah!" she lunged at me again. Oh come on!

But finally, the alarm rang, our allotted time at an end. "Seriously, saved by the bell? Huh, lame" Tomyris grumbled as she came to a swift stop.

"Alright, now that our game's over" I set my eyes on her "Tell me, what was this 'something weird' about the Colosseum you mentioned earlier?".

"I guessed you've earned the right to know" Tomyris swished her ponytail "There's been reports that the likes of Warmech Ordnance and Gaea Greenhouse have been using this Colosseum as a testing ground for untested mechs and Mist-mutated monsters. Not that I personally find tougher foes, but the Law certainly minds the illegal creation of monsters so destructive they could break out of their arenas and onto the streets".

Ooh boy, sounds exactly like the sort of thing I've been meaning to investigate! But hold on, if Tomyris finds out I've been assembling a team to spy on, among other things, the other Lineages, then I could see her happily taking the opportunity to rat me out.

"...Interesting, I'll take note of it" was what I ended up saying.
As the two of us walked back into the foyer, I had to raise a brow when Tomyris out of nowhere gasped at the sight of Xihe. "Whoa whoa, are... are you really Sun Xihe? Wow, I've seen like, all your movies! I mean, who knows what's just 'studio magic' in film, but you do all your own stunts, right?". Well, being a Wuxia fan is something I could easily imagine of Tomyris, though I'd bet she's the type to keep moaning over 'inaccuracies'.

"Hey, sure do!" Xihe had to smile, which soon turned to a blush as she fidgeted around before saying "Er, wanna autograph?".

"Oh yes! It's Tomyris Hilda d'Ultima!" she swiftly nodded.

"Wait wait, you're Lucia's sister?" Xihe... had to give away that she knew me. "Er, I'm kinda interested in opera because of all the physical training the singers go through, that's how I heard about Lucia". Whew, good save.

"We're cousins" Tomyris' glee switched off for a second, but then came back as Xihe began signing her scabbard.

My cousin then glared sharp at Doktor. "Don't I know you? I believe I've seen you skulking around the back alleys..." her tone lowered.

"Never had the pleasure, you must have me mistaken for someone else. This is a common medical outfit after all" Herr Doktor seemed to reply without missing a beat.

"Uh-uh" was all Tomyris said to that, before strangely her gaze shifted to Cosmic. "Really, the famous Cosmic? Hmm, I don't tend to listen to your stuff, but tell me, what's an Idol doing at a Colosseum, especially I don't see any concert posters around".

"Ah, nothing much. Just trying out new things, I guess" she tried to smile yet shrank back at Tomyris' gaze.

Unsurprisingly Tomyris barely took note of Kristen, as she once again turned to Xihe and said "Hey, if you have time... would you mind going up against me? It'd be a dream come true for me if you did!".

[ ] "Sure, why not?".

I was hoping someone else would vote first but well here goes

[X] "Sure, why not?".

[X] Spy on the Rubicante.

Helen Character Sheet.
Ah... hmm...

[X] "Sure, why not?"
[X] Spy on Warmech Ordnance.

Probably could literally roll a die for this. It's just... well, we're here. And we have someone who would probably love to be a distraction fighting here if we need one.

Also have another Character.

[] Name: Helen
[] Age: 16
[] Species: Human
[] Job Class: Machinist
[] Side jobs: Magitech Knight and Warrior (very, very minor Warrior. Basically just enough to use a sword as a holdout weapon effectively.)
[] Appearance:
[] History: One of the younger sisters of Sophia. She began to resent her older sister for leaving so much responsibility on her shoulders with taking care of her siblings. Maybe if it had just been that she could have adapted, but... The house was... different. And not for the better.

Eventually she just started coming back later and leaving earlier. She'd seen what her sister more or less abandoning them had done to all of them as well though, so often she took her siblings with her when she left. Getting them out the door to school usually.

Or on days when school wasn't in she'd take them down to the gang's hideout.

Well, Gang might be a bit of a strong word, as far as she was aware at least, but Dicteria made sure they were all looked after, so Helen looked the other way as long as it wasn't put right in front of her. And it hadn't been.

Even if she resented her a little, Helen couldn't bring herself to want to make trouble for Sophia.

Still she couldn't deny she did them favors. Racing mostly, but she delivered packages sometimes. They always told her it was nothing that would get her in trouble though, she trusted that. Even if only because Dicteria herself became interested in her Bike and was amused at how similar they looked to each other at first glance.

And if there was trouble, either on the racing circuits or with delivering a "safe" package, she was confidant in getting away, even if she might have to sacrifice her bike for it.

[] Personality: She loves her family, a lot like her sister really. And irnoically emulates her sister without realizing she's doing the same thing her sister did to them. At least consciously, because she does recognize what leaving the rest of her siblings behind would do to them.

Stubborn, but more unsure of herself than Sophia. Doesn't laugh much thanks to stressing so much about taking care of her siblings as best she can.

Is beginning to see Dicteria as something of a replacement for Sophia, not that she realizes it.

Is a little ashamed of how she exposes her siblings to the totally-not-a-gang life and is also having trouble grieving for both her brother and being (essentially, in her eyes) abandoned by her sister and parents.

Usually flips between depressed tinkering, worried older sister, and headstrong and brash racer/gang member. Or those are her three... modes of operating I guess.

Magitech Mecha-change Motorcycle. Bipedal form is optional, but I figure it would have fold out armor to cover her up at least.

[X] "Sure, why not?"
[X] Spy on Warmech Ordnance.

X. Entranced.
"Well, I guess I did want a more 'real' opponent than that last guy" Xihe did say, then brightened up with "Okay, I've got time, sure I can take you on? Er, 'spose you don't want me to take it easy just because you're a fan, huh?".

Tomyris just grinned, grabbed Xihe's arm and headed back with her into the arena. With our fights over, us remaining five took our seats, with Kristen pulling out a pair of rickety binoculars, Cosmic ever cheering Xihe on, Doktor watching closely yet saying nothing, and Elatha of all people coming over to talk with me.

" Even after having participated myself, I... can't see how your city can view combat as a sport" his soft voice muttered to me.

"What, about to get all windbag pacifist on me?" I chuckled.

"It's just that, in the wilderness, fighting and hunting were part of survival, not anything we ever made light of" he continued, then started to turn away.
Um, I guess I should at least say something in response to that...

[ ] "Hey, you're in the city now, we do things differently here".
[ ] "Ah sorry, never looked at it that way".
[ ] "Well I've never been to the wilderness, so makes sense I didn't think of that. Maybe I ought to go out there sometime?".
[ ] No, I'm fine saying nothing.

"I see" he said, and that seemed to be that.

Anyway, the fight between Xihe and Tommy wasn't heating up as much as one'd think, as every time Xihe launched a flurry of kicks or tried to get Tomyris in a suplex hold, the latter kept responding with the likes of "Aw come on, I've seen you do way more" and "Hey, didn't you say yoiu wouldn't hold back".

Xihe's expression, after shifting around, eventually turned to a smile "Okay, I can see you want something extra special".

As Tomyris slash again, Xihe delivered an uppercut that caught her katana's hilt and knocked it out of her hand. The sword spinning in midair before Xihe swiftly caught it, her then saying "I'd rather rely on my bare fists, in fact I don't know if I even have access to the right class for a katana, but I can pull off this one trick with it".

Tomyris didn't seem fazed by this as she just unsheathed a spare katana, a common thing to carry what with how brittle they were. What did faze her was Xihe with both hands bringing down the blade with enough force to shatter it right on top of my cousin's head.

"Tomyris!" even I couldn't help but call out, but to my surprise, though in hindsight it shouldn't have been, my cousin just laughed and smiled even as blood trickled down her face.

"See, now that's what I'm talking about!" she called out, as the very thing (okay, one of many very things) I feared then happened.
Tomyris' muscles then grew larger, her eyes seemed to catch fire, her black hair started glowing blue and her skin turned to crimson. Trance. "Because now I've got no excuse to hold back!" her more monstrous-sounding voice roared.

"Xihe, look out! The Ultima Trance cancels out all weak spots!" I yelled out to her. Xihe barely seemed to know how to react, as Tomyris in Trance then proceeded to bring down a rain of swords upon the actress' stunned self, with even her blade's after-images now able to slice in their own right.

Luckily Xihe was able to sprint from side to side and dodge most of the ghostly sword tides, though some serious cuts on her showed that said luck was far from full-proof. The actress' multi-coloured hair hung in her face as Tomyris kept launching phantom blade after blade after her, but Xihe strangely chuckled and said "This may be an odd place for backstory, but do you know why I took up martial arts?".

With a single punch Xihe then split a ghost sword in two, sending its tip flying back at Tomyris. "Us Espers start off human, but as Trance takes over the beast within us rises to surface. But like any beast you can learn to tame it," Xihe grinned, side-stepping another wall of swords "Hence why I joined that monastery as a child, to discipline myself. So tell me Tomyris d'Ultima, have you learned to tame your inner beast? 'Cause I'm not seeing it".

This comment did make Tomyris pause, only for her to resume her onslaught a second later. Xihe didn't lose her newfound cool, in fact then leaped straight back at Tomyris and went on saying "A Monk learns many of their techniques from observing wild animals, which from the looks of it now includes you. So thank you for teaching me my latest move!".

Xihe then burst out with a rapid-fire wave of machine-gun-speed punches, both physical and ethereal, and proceeded to shatter many of the blades Tomyris was sending her way, before bearing her cascade of fists right down on Tomyris directly, the final of which was a punch fired off only an inch from her face.

"Hah, and I did all of that in one take!" Xihe beamed.

Even Tranced my cousin was then sent crashing to the ground, though even after receiving the pummeling of a lifetime and now with no swords left whole, Tomyris still made her way back on her feet and began chuckling.
"Xihe, this fan thanks you too, you didn't let down my image of you at all" she said, but then her eyes burned brighter as she slammed her fists together "Yet even your new supermove won't be enough to keep me down. Oh Xihe, have you forgotten that us Espers' Trances don't stop at just Level 1, the only Level I've shown you?".

Tomyris' whispers then shot sky high in volume as she boomed out "The Crystals truly shine upon you, Sun Xihe, for you're now one of the lucky few who shall ever seen my Level 2 Trance! But your luck has now run out - ah, what the...?" she then got caught off-guard as the bell rang again "Seriously, twice in a row?! Is this some kinda joke?!".

Groaning, Tomyris then powered back down to her regular self as we all walked out of the arena. "Yeah, but just wait till the rematch" she grumbled.

"Trust me, I'll be rehearsing!" Xihe smiled back.

"Hey cousin" Tomyris then said to me "I'll be looking into those Greenhouse guys. Don't you slack off either, got it?".

Good, this leaves investigating Warmech Ordnance open to me. "Wouldn't dream of it, dear cousin" I gave a twisted grin.

With her leaving, the other four then rushed over, okay Elatha more strode, over to Xihe.
"Wow, you were awesome Xihe! You know, you should really be landing some higher paying roles!"
"Sheesh, remind my machines not to go after you!"
"The beast within? Hmhm, very interesting talk..."

"Nah, it's nothing really. Do that sorta thing all the time!" Xihe's showbiz side started talking.

"You know I hate the spoil the fun," I piped up "but I've just thought up my first real mission for you fine people. the sooner we got on it, the sooner a piece of the Ultima fortune could be yours!".

My agents' excited buzzing stopped as they all silently looked at me, Kristen and Cosmic noticeably gulping.

"I take it you've all heard of Warmech Ordnance?" I asked, with them then muttering amongst themselves.

"Er, I think they've got something to do with robots?" Cosmic hesitated.

"I know them" Kristen's face went glum "I've submitted several designs to them, but never heard a word back".

"As you should, they're only the biggest name in military hardware" I reminded everyone. "Hah, the Rubicante couldn't be more worked up about them, that Lineage sees themselves as the City's true fighting force, not some upstart arms dealers.
I digress, back to Warmech. I've received reports that they've been using this Colosseum to unlawfully test out new combat robots, as with them being a suspiciously successful new company I've been meaning to look into them anyway. So, here's the plan..."

[ ] "Tomorrow morning, I'll keep them occupied by saying the Ultima are investing in new robots, while you five sneak off into their factory".
[ ] "We sneak in right now under cover of darkness, Kristen can stop to stock up on useful stealth gadgets".
- [ ] Jobs are Lucia: Judge/Bard, Doktor: White Mage/Thief, Kristen: Machinist, Xihe: Monk/Blue Mage, Cosmic: Bard and Elatha: Ranger. On-standby: Warrior, Black Mage, Red Mage and Dragoon. This set-up okay?

Respectful of different cultures. Or trying to be at least.

On the one hand we can go in at night and likely will have less people to worry about. Which means we can probably get into any restricted areas more easily. Though Security will probably be tighter at night as well.

But none of us really have experience in the Thief or Ninja Jobs. Although depending on how much of the security is automated, Kristen might just be able to walk right through it. Or close to anyway.
