Eh, navigating by the sun should be fairly feasible. I assume we don't have a timepiece, but if we did that'd be usefull as a compass.

Let's start with something relatively low-key. Also, if we're going after a murderer hiding out in the hills we're gonna need that compass and I'd rather spend the money on boots right now.
 
If we actually do get new boots I suggest keeping the moccasins in case we run into Onawa again. Could be entertaining trying to give them back.

Now, I'm in favor of the boots myself, but I also chose to go hunting some less dangerous game in relatively close proximity to civilization.

If we're dead set on going after the murderer however, I'd recommend we take the compass. It's easy to get turned around in those hills and Inde country is a big place.

@Rat King how are you determining what exactly gets bought, given that we don't seem to be voting in plan format but some people are clearly in favor of purchasing multiple items? Do we just go down the list, highest-voted first, until we can't afford anything else? Is there some vote threshold?

This looks good to me. Compass and canteen get us well set up for venturing into the wilderness, and we have a horse so boots seem less critical to our ability to get around.

I just want to point out that we're going to be trekking out in the countryside dealing with sharp rocks, sand, grit, gravel, and potentially things like biting snakes. Heavy footwear such as a good pair of boots has major advantages.
