Today's Menu with the Assassin Faction
It was December and Manaka was staring out the window. Snow was falling outside and she was making herself comfortable on the armchair she had curled up in while Berserker kept himself in his Spirit Form. She was looking outside and figured that it was nearly Christmas, a time of celebration humans upheld for one reason or the other.

She could vaguely recall Ayaka enjoying it from what she could recall.

A sigh left her lips as she found the current situation rather dull. This circumstance has left her with a lot of free time. Hans has been left thinking about how to best move against his enemies while keeping the Holy Grail safe but it's only to be expected that the man was as he was, he wasn't as special as her.

He has shown to be quite the workaholic, he may end up collapsing at this rate.

Manaka raised her gaze to find Miyu stepping out if her room, the Child of God blessed with Wish Granting properties marched up to Manaka. Now this was a curious situation.

"Rather early aren't you? You're not usually the early bird type," Manaka noted with a giggle.

Miyu's golden eyes met her blue ones as she spoke, "I need your help."

"Well this is surprising. What could the Holy Grail want from me?" Manaka wondered with a raised eyebrow.

"Breakfast," Miyu said as she glanced at Hans' door, "For him. You're good at cooking. You have been teaching Assassin, maybe we should give him something that'll let him live longer."

The air shimmered and Berserker appeared, the rough looking man had his arms crossed as he looked down on the girl, "Missy, that's a good idea but do you really have to ask this one."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Manaka asked with a frown.

"Well, it seemed like you couldn't be bothered. Who knows what you might do," Berserker pointed out in a low tone.

Manaka stared at him and he stared back, ending with her shaking her head, "Fair assessment but I wouldn't do anything untoward to Hans. He's amusing. Sabotaging him will only make this trip boring."

"See? Can't be trusted," Berserker said once more as he glanced at Miyu.

"But I can cook. As the Bride of a King, I can at least do that much," Manaka said as she slowly got up. She raised her hand at Berserker and said, "I'll show you."

Berserker internally flinched and wondered if she would just force him to implode on the spot but she didn't.

Miyu wondered if this was a good idea after all.

.....
....
...

Wearing an apron and a pink bandana, Manaka got to work fixing up breakfast. Miyu was assisting her having humored the girl's efforts and they were well on their way to making their meals. Manaka had decided upon a few dishes for the occasion, making sure to get enough ingredients for everyone in the apartment.

"What are we making first?" Miyu asked Manaka from the side.

Taking a softer and the pack of flour, Manaka then replied, "We'll be making the pancakes first. I want you to sift through the flour and let it fall to this bowl."

Miyu blinked before she stepped in the stool and did as she was told. Manaka watched the girl work with her arms crossed. Not bad, the child showed promise in handling kitchen implements but that's only expected for the Vessel of the Grail, always so high spec.

It took a minute or so before Miyu was done to which Manaka inspected her work.

"Good. Now quickly mix in the rest of the ingredients," Manaka said as she cracked two eggs in her hand, placing them into the flour while Miyu poured in the right amount of milk.

Manaka then proceeded to mix the batter in her arms as Miyu watched closely. Manaka simply didn't waste any movements and soon enough, the batter was ready to be poured into the pan she had heated before they started.

Pouring the batter, the pancake began to cook, followed by a delicious fragrance to fill the air. Manaka timed it right before flipping the pancake to achieve its maximum fluffiness, allowing for a golden brown colour to fill its cooked side.

"Wow," Miyu breathed as she watched Manaka do this thrice before serving a full plate. The blue eyed girl then cut up a couple of strawberries and placed them on top of it, only to apply generous amount of whipped cream and maple syrup.

"That's one down. Not that hard is it not?" Manaka said as she placed a hand on her hip.

"It certainly is impressive. But then again what do I know about cooking," Beowulf said as he waved his hand.

"There's a certain improvement to the quality compared to our normal breakfast," Miyu pointed out with wide eyes.

"Of course," Manaka nodded with a satisfied look.

"Show off," Beowulf snarled from the side.

"Hush, you. In any case, while this is good and all, how about you stop hiding and join in, Assassin?" Manaka suggested as she glanced at the corner.

Chiyome hesitated before dropping her presence concealment, "How did you know?"

"I can hear you furiously scratching in that notepad. Now why don't you step up and give it a go? Hans is more likely to eat your food than mine," Manaka offered as she tilted her head.

"Why is that?" Miyu wondered from the side.

"Because she might poison him," Berserker replied before he shut his mouth as his Master looked at him.

Chiyome stood awkwardly where she was and said, "Well, I am not versed in meals for breakfast. It's normally just miso, cooked fish and rice. I am open to suggestions."

"Then how about Eggs Benedict?" Miyu suggested as she held up her hand. She then turned to Manaka, "You can teach her, right?"

Manaka blinked before shrugging, "I suppose I can."

.....
....
...

"First you saute the ham in butter for two minutes," Manaka said as she began working while Chiyome moved in parallel with her, "Melt some butter on a separate pan while you poach some eggs in salted, simmering water. Try not to leave it in there for long."

Chiyome took the eggs while Miyu handed her the pan with water. Manaka smiled as she placed the ham on some muffins they got out of the fridge before she poured the melted butter on the separate pan on it.

Letting the pan simmer, Assassin then poured two tablespoons of vinegar on the pan before stirring it gently. She then cracked the eggs at the center of the water before lowering the heat to prevent the water from boiling.

"Take the egg out and put it on the ham. Leave the yolk in the water and pour it in a bowl. Then briskly whisk it while pouring more butter into it," Manaka advised as Chiyome nodded.

She then scooped out the egg once set and placed it on top of the ham. Manaka had then used the spare butter to make a sauce, as she cut up some lemons and squeezed the juice on some melted butter.

Chiyome began to whisk on the side and had a look of determination in her face. Manaka glanced at her from the side and raised an eyebrow. To think a ruthless killer like Assassin would make such a girly expression.

Manaka, for the first time ever, understood what another was feeling. She closed her eyes and the image of a young man with blond hair, vibrant green eyes and shining silver armor came to her mind. Girls tended to do their best for people they loved after all...

A few minutes later, Assassin was done.

.....
....
...

Hans staggered out of room with a groan. The smell of breakfast having forced him up on his feet. After six months of being homeless, this smell was heavenly. His legs led him to the dining table where he found Assassin, setting up the table in an apron.

"Wha-" Hans blinked in surprise.

"Oh, good morning... Master," Chiyome said as her face lightly blushed.

"Wow... What's the occasion?" Hans asked with a small smile, walking up to the table and taking his seat.

"Take it as a Christmas Breakfast," Chiyome said with a nod. She then said, "The others helped me with it. We were hoping it'll help you regain your strength."

"Did you now?" Hans said as Chiyome turned and fetched him his coffee. He blew into his mug and took a sip.

That woke him up.

"Where are the others?" Hans asked.

"They went up the rooftop and left me here. I couldn't simply leave the food alone so... I waited for you," Assassin said.

Hans looked down at his meal and smiled, "Well, I'd prefer someone to sit with me. Grab a plate and let's eat together."

Chiyome blinked before smiling brightly.

.....
....
...

Manaka was leaning against the rails while still in her apron, "Deck the halls with boughs of holly..."

She was looking at the sun rise in the distance as the wind blew. Berserker was watching from the side with his arms crossed while Miyu drank some canned juice from the vending machine.

Manaka closed her eyes and she peered into the future...

A future where a one armed man and his Shinobi stood against Seven Blackened Servants and the raging Beast seeking entrance into this world.

Manaka's lips curled into a smile, "Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la..."

Merry Christmas!

Voting is still open, right?

[X] Maybe... Maybe she's serious. You were just joking but maybe this could work out. Maybe she had an actual change of heart. This is a miracle.

Don't particularly want to split the vote between the serious option and the write in. Let's give her a chance, yeah?

Anyways, Merry Christmas!

[x] Start laughing. Holy shit she actually... She's serious. Is she? No, of course not. You can tell her to drop the act now.

Screw it I was being greedy with the write in this will do.

I'm stuck. I don't really want to laugh in her face just in case it is genuine, but I'm not at all convinced it is, and I don't really like how... idealistic... the maybe vote is. So I'm probably just going to abstain.

After arguing so vehemently, I feel like a right ass changing my vote, but Mura has good instincts...

While mura does have good instincts the only possible 'positive' outcome of this option is making us feel smug, according to rabbits comment.

I believe changing your vote without receiving an answer to your inquiry as to why they made that choice is a poor decision.

[X] "You know this is a bit hard to believe right? Even if you want to start over, we're still going to go right back to being enemies when this alliance is over."
[X] Say nothing. Do nothing other than walk past her. Make sure to reinforce your legs to get to your door before she can stab you in the back.
[X] Write in... That was... unexpected "I'm gonna be honest I didn't think you'd go for it, hell even now part of me thinks you're messing with me."

[] Maybe... Maybe she's serious. You were just joking but maybe this could work out. Maybe she had an actual change of heart. This is a miracle.

This is bullshit.

This is bullshit and you knew it. But maybe... Maybe she's serious. You were just joking and simply played the bit up this afternoon but it seemed like she was actually serious about this... Or was at least pretending to be.

Maybe she had an actual change of heart or maybe her programming was just bugged. You stared at her long and hard wondering if she'll break character and stab you with a knife. You were prepared for that much at least but she didn't budge.

.....

This is such bullshit but if this was how she going to play it, maybe you can go along with it. As long as you didn't overextend, you can kill her later. This wasn't the first time someone tried this.

What did she think you were, stupid?

"Well, that's good. You made the smart play," you praised her as you managed a small smile, "Did Saber give you some advice?"

"I spoke with him yes. It's surprising just how much you can glean off his drunken rambling. Still, Brother, I thank you for showing me the new light. I look forward to working with you," Minerva said as she held up her hand, offering it to you.

You kept your smile and spoke, "I don't think we're close enough for that, are we?"

"Of course. I did try and kill you for the better part of the year. Chasing you from city to city, burning down your hideouts and cutting down your men," Minerva said as she pulled her hand back and rubbed her hair, "But that's behind us now, right?"

You tried to ignore that...

You smiled and nodded, "If it means you can direct your attention elsewhere, sure."

"Good. Then I won't keep you. I'll see you around, Brother," Minerva said as she walked past you, "Don't be so stiff, it's unlike you, Brother.

You felt something cold and sharp brush against your neck before you jerked and moved back. You were only met with the sight of Minerva moving down the side of the hall before getting out of sight.

You pressed your hand against your neck and half expected blood to be there. You didn't like this and you didn't buy her bullshit. Maybe you should have called her out while you had the chance. There's no way a Killing Machine determined to crush your neck would change in one fucking afternoon.

She wasn't going to try anything here at the church but in the field...

You moved on ahead. It was better if she was openly trying to kill you. Now you didn't know if she was pretending or not. For now, you'll assume she was pretending and be on guard.

Even if she wasn't, you'll have to kill her regardless. You needed her body after all.

You approached your room and knocked twice before entering. Chiyome was inside with a large number of weapons spread out on the ground. It seemed to consist of every single Shinobi tool she wielded.

She was quick to grab the cloth underneath her weapons and tools before yanking it up. In one motion, she was able to make all of them vanish from your sight.

"Color me impressed. It looked like a magic trick," you told her as you shut the door.

"Hans, it's good to see you. Is something wrong? You don't look so good," Chiyome asked as she walked up to you and touched your forehead, "You're pale."

"Am I? I think Hell just froze over somehow," you told her as you remembered your encounter with Minerva, "That's besides the point. You have a mission tonight."

"I'm aware. I was just fixing my tools," Chiyome said as she looked up at you, "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I am. Don't worry," you tried reassuring her, "Just focus on being safe tonight. I made arrangements for Edelfelt and Ophelia to provide you with some more tools. Don't take unnecessary risks, I still need you tomorrow."

"But of course. I won't fail you. I'm more worried about you, however," Chiyome said as she fixed your jacket and straightened it out, "While I won't try and risk things, don't do anything dumb either. You need someone to rein you in. Your own ruthlessness could be your downfall."

"A lecture? Playing the part of a partner well, aren't you?" You chuckled as you pat her shoulder.

"I did promise Luvia and Sakura," Assassin said as she smiled up at you. She then held on to your clothes and pulled you close into a hug.

You didn't resist and simply strokes her hair. She then let go and opened the door.

"See ya," Assassin said as she ran out of the room.

"Yeah... See ya," you said as you shut the door.

.....
....
...

"Think you can lend me some reagents?" You asked as you stood in front of Luvia's room.

"Your shame just up and vanished did it? Is it because we became hostile to you?" Luvia asked as she crossed her arms while leaning on her doorframe.

"Maybe. But that's beside that. I know you have some left over materials Caren gifted you to make some support Mystic Codes for Assassin. I was wondering if I could have a vial of liquid silver," you replied as you smiled.

Luvia tried shutting the door on your face but you stopped it with your foot.

"I need to talk. It's about Saber's Master," you quickly said as you wore a more serious expression.

Luvia frowned at that before asking, "What do you mean?"

"I'd rather take this inside. The walls could have ears," you warned her as you glanced behind you before Luvia eventually conceded and let you in. You shut the door and were immediately aimed at by several magic circles holding explosive gemstones within them.

Classy.

"Talk," Luvia said as she frowned at you.

"She's acting weird. Minerva wants to reconcile with me even after she's spent the entire year and this war trying to brutally murder me. So I want some insurance by getting your help," you told her with a sigh.

"And why would I do that?" Luvia asked as she crossed her arms.

"Because if Minerva stabs my back before I stab hers, that puts us in a precarious situation. I'd rather give you the Grail than let her have it. If anything happens in the future, you and Sakura will need to protect Miyu," you told her with a serious tone.

"We still have Lancer," Luvia pointed out.

"Lancer doesn't have much time left. Forgive my bluntness but she won't last past tomorrow. Her Spirit Origin is too damaged, Sakura knows this well. That's why I'm coming on to you," you explained as you pressed your back against the door, "Your presence once she passes will be the least of Minerva's concern, giving you more freedom. Work in the background, prepare everything you might need."

"And how are you so sure she's going to stab you? She's insane, is she not? You never know truly whether this is madness or her true feelings," Luvia said as she narrowed her gaze.

"That's the scary thing. I don't know if she's fucking with me or not. That puts me on edge. I can play her game but there's no telling what her moves will be. If she's being genuine or not will force what moves I could make," you admitted as you closed your eyes, "I know it's asking a lot after I kept so much hidden from you."

"But why us? Why not Phamrsolone?" Luvia questioned.

"Well... she has Rider with her. They're a faction I can't get a read on. You don't have to break your alliance with them but I believe that they'll be more focused on fighting than anything. As to why and Sakura... Well, anyone who knows Shirou Emiya can't possibly bad people. Plus I've observed you two for awhile now," you replied as you met her gaze, "You don't have to act for now but please consider this."

Luvia regarded your expression before sighing, "Had you been this devious against us, we wouldn't stand a chance. I can understand your position however. We see you the same way you see Minerva. Fine, we'll keep an eye out. But this is the extent of what we can do. Once Lancer passes, we'll be vulnerable."

"Thanks," you smiled.

Luvia then took something out of her drawer and tossed it your way. Catching it, you looked down at the vial.

"Take it and leave before I blow you to pieces, you slimy bastard," Luvia snapped as you opened the door and left her room. Shutting the door, you glanced to your side.

"Thanks for watching my back," you breathed as you smiled, "Artoria."

"That was a rather heated conversation. I felt her gemstones on you from the other side of the door. Will everything be all right?" the King of Knights asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes. I've plugged the holes on my ship for now. Thanks for accompanying me," you said with a nod.

"If Assassin knew you were entering women's rooms at night, what would she think?" Artoria asked as the two of you walked down the hall, "What did you get anyway?"

"Oh just something I can use for later," you said as you patted the vial in your pocket. You also felt Assassin's snake slither under your clothes, "Can't help but be prepared during the time my Servant isn't with me."

Landing on top of a electrical tower, Assassin looked up at the distant Pyramid sitting at the mountainside. Thanks to her own senses and sharpened perception, she was able to see the structure in its entirety. It was huge, larger than most castles she had infiltrated in her past life and not only that but its architecture was vastly different as well.

She looked up the sky and saw a white comet riding through the air.

Rider was going to antagonize the swarm of monsters circling the crown of the pyramid so she had the chance to enter it. There were openings on each layer of the structure but there were also multiple entrances. There were entrances on the side and the front, guarded by grounded Phantasmal Beasts Assassin did not recognize.

The swarm had taken the bait, shooting up in a mass of winged bodies and claws but they weren't fast enough to catch up to Rider.

She had two objectives for tonight, scout out the interior of the pyramid to test its defenses and finding Miyu alongside Ayumi. Maybe if she was lucky, she can find the Blackened and assassinate him when she gets the chance.

"Well then... Shall we begin?" Assassin murmured as she concealed her presence.

Infiltration
[] Accomplish Caren's orders of gathering information regarding the pyramid. Its layout, defenses and combat strength are core intel Assassin needed to gather.
[] Focus on Hans' plan of getting to and extracting Miyu and Ayumi. Once Assassin had a clear path to their location, she'll be ready next time.
[] Find the Blackened and kill him when the chance presents itself. If the opportunity shows, they might not even need to go on with the plan risking everyone's lives.
