While the primary purpose of this Quest is to tell a story, Homura's actions are yours to choose. Outside of combat and excluding contradictory choices, only one vote is needed to pass an action. In the event that you do not approve of a vote, you can counter-vote. Likes will not be counted.
You only get one vote, and counter-votes do count as a vote. You can compound multiple non-contradicting actions in a single vote.
In the case of a contradiction, the majority will win, no matter how small the difference.
I reserve the right to veto votes if they are sufficiently OOC.
The main goal of this Quest is to bring back Madoka. This goal will not change. Failure to achieve this will result in a Bad End. Achieving it will not result in a Good End. Walpurgisnacht is not EndGame. Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid.
Dice rolls shall only be used when Soul Gem corruption has passed 75%, and you become less coherent. This only applies to actions or (blank)-checks.
Dice rolls may be used for other things.
Combat is determined by tactics and strategy. Fight smart. Stupidity will get Homura killed.
NPCs can eventually become PCs through sufficient befriending and/or plot devices. The list of unlocked NPCs are provided here.
Omakes are appreciated, and are usually canonized. No tangible rewards are granted for them, but generally they make updates less... tragic.

You start out with zero points associated with each person. Each successful fight/appropriate task you accomplish with a person earns you one point. Every task you fail reduces your score by one point. You can suffer negative three points before all teamwork-oriented actions are subject to dice rolls. For example, if you have -4, you need to roll below 60 to succeed. For -5, you need to roll below 50. If you fail, this still lowers your score, since the action will fail. Upon -10, relations with said person will deteriorate, and they will refuse to work with you.
Once you pass 4 positive points, teamwork actions are subject to dice rolls to determine whether the combo attack is doubled in power. For example, at 4 points, you need to roll below 40 to get your bonus. At 5, below 50.
Upon 10, you are granted SYNERGY with that person, gaining a default double boost.
In short, if you don't work well with someone, that situation might deteriorate if you don't manage it well. However, if you figure out how to work with them, things only get better from there.
As of now, the list only includes known MGs. It can expand.
Time Stop (Cost: 1 Corruption per second) Bullet Time (Cost: 1 Corruption per shot. Use Time Stop in conjunction with gun. Guarantees hit if chance of missing exists.) Rot (Requires contact with target. Target withers away into ash. 10 Corruption.) Reave (No force can stand between you and the happy ending you wish for Madoka. Your claws nullify any defensive measure they come into contact with.) Shield of Protection (50% chance of entirely negating damage from incoming attacks. 75% if protecting Madoka) Magic Blast (Cost: 20 Corruption per shot, Moderate damage, instant travel time to target, 100% accuracy) Bow and Arrow (Cost: 5 for bow, 0.5 per arrow, Moderate damage, reduced speed and accuracy compared to Magic Blast) Melee (Random blunt force and cutting weapons, low proficiency) Enchant (Small item=5, Vehicle=30, Warship=200. Enhances damage of item and allows control of sufficiently automated items) Blitzkrieg (Cost: 300 Corruption. Enchant 10 military vehicles to simultaneously attack the enemy. Requires 10 military vehicles. Destruction of opponent likely.) Ashes to Ashes (Cost: 30 per vehicle, 200 per warship, 5 per weapon. Unload full arsenal or however much you can onto opponent. Destruction of opponent almost guaranteed.)
"Don't cry, Homura-chan," she whispers at you as you cradle her broken body.
Don't cry? How can you not? You were so close this time. So close. This timeline was supposed to be The One. Everything was perfect. You saved everyone. Nobody turned into a Witch. You were close to Madoka... closer than you've ever been before. You all made it to Walpurgisnacht, and even though Madoka contracted, you were determined to make sure that she survived the battle.
Now everyone else was dead, and Madoka would soon be joining them.
"Please... can you... do something for me?" she asks of you, her voice barely a whisper.
"Y-Yes... what?" you choke on your own words, tears obscuring your vision.
"I... I don't want to turn into a Witch," she raises her Soul Gem towards you, "Please..."
You nod in understanding, slowly pulling a pistol from your shield. You level the implement of death with your friend's soul...
You've done this before. Why is it so hard to pull the trigger?
Because this Madoka isn't just your friend.
You love her.
You love her so damn much.
And as the gun slips from your hands, you realize that you can't lose her.
You grab at her Soul Gem as she stares at you with confusion and horror.
"N-No! Homura-chan, please-"
You pick up the gun and turn it on her body.
Just a shell, Madoka's body is just a shell. The true form of the girl you love you hold in your left hand.
Every breath Madoka's body takes, every second it tries to heal, is more magic that is spent from her Soul Gem; the more corrupted it becomes.
The closer she comes to death.
With two quick pulls of cold, hard steel, and two jerks of the weapon, and the body is removed from the equation.
The swirling, inky-black ruin in your beloved's soul slows; the horrid writhing of despair and grief slows to an imperceptible creep. She's safe, for now.
You drop the precious gem into your shield for safekeeping. You know that whatever you store inside it is safe from the ravages of time.
And with that, you turn back the clock.
Familiar segmented white lines in an endless corridor greet you as you sprint through them. How many times have you been here? You lost count long ago. You stopped keeping track once you were well into the triple-digits.
As always, the transition is jarring. The smell of sterility. The too-clean white walls. The hospital blankets that make a poor attempt at comfort.
You are back in your hospital room in Tokyo.
Frantically, you sit up and transform, not bothering to heal your eyes or your heart, the latter of which is still recovering from surgery.
You reach into your shield, and pull out brilliant pink.
You breathe a sigh of relief.
You did it. You saved Madoka.
For now. Without a Grief Seed to cleanse it, Madoka will become a Witch.
A quick look at your own Soul Gem indicates that you are in a similar situation.
....
You really didn't think this far ahead.

otherwise add acquire weapons to the list prior to hunting, unless we have too much corruption to safely perform a hunt, in which case we may have to beg a seed from Mami.
Turning Madoka into a ring leaves her vulnerable. No reason to check the date/phone at this point in time. However, we need to get a seed, and preferably ASAP. If we need to beg a seed that sucks, but oh well.
OOC: Okay, some of those votes conflict... Hm... I'll fit in as much as I can. I'll include hunting as a later post, you will hunt, but later.
[X] Kiss Madoka's Soul Gem.
-[X] Whisper sweet nothings to it.
You lay a gentle kiss upon your darling's soul, and spend at least five minutes telling her how much you love her.
Good thing the nurses can't see you right now, or else you'd be put into the psych ward. [X] Put Madoka away. There's no reason to have her out right now.
You slip Madoka back into your shield. It's the safest place for her... although you might wear her as a ring later. Seems romantic. Or creepy. You prefer the former. [X] Check date.
It is March 16th on a Wednesday. You don't bother checking the year, since it never changes.
It never does. You can't remember the last time you celebrated the New Year, but you're determined to celebrate it again with Madoka. [X] Check phone.
No calls. Figures. Nobody calls you, not even your parents. [X] Heal...
-[X] Eyes
-[X] Heart
A moment's concentration, and it is done. Your fluttering heart beats strong and confident in your chest. Now you can be discharged from the hospital much sooner than you normally would.
You pull your glasses off, they don't help you anymore. With some regret, you put them away. Madoka said you looked cute in glasses... Maybe you'll put them on for her. [X] Assess the situation. Best not to act without a plan.
You are currently in your hospital room in Tokyo. Tokyo has Witch population levels that can only be described as catastrophic. Thankfully, it has a Magical Girl population to match. If you try to hunt, you will infringe on someone's territory. You need Grief Seeds, however. Without one, Madoka will die, and that's unacceptable.
You cannot do anything until you're discharged from the hospital, however.... you suppose you could try and sneak out at night. [X] Inventory what you have in your shield.
You spent most of your arsenal on Walpurgisnacht, but you were quite the pack rat in the last timeline.
You have...
Inventory
Golf Club x1
Desert Eagle x3
Flamethrower x2
SPAS-12 x6
RPG (various) x25
A USA Aircraft Carrier x1
Russian Nukes (various yields) x3
She stole it directly out of port and everybody on board died. My take on Homura's shield storage is that there is no size or storage limit. since, you know, she's stolen enough military hardware to arm a third world country.
The nukes used to belong to a Russian sub, but Homura threw that at Walpurgis.
OOC: I feel like writing... so here.
[x] Acquire weapons from American Base.
As much as you'd like to do that, the nearest one packing any sort of considerable firepower is located roughly 30 kilometers away. Plus, all you'd be able to take is planes. The Aircraft Carrier you stole has plenty of those already.
[x] Need to hunt a Witch. Madoka's gem could use a cleanse, hope you got some practice in with that 9 iron.
You wait until nightfall, when the nurses don't check in on you. Slipping out of the hospital is fairly easy with your Time Stop ability.
Once on the roof of the hospital itself, Tokyo is spread out before you. You detect many, many magical signatures moving about, including some of what you suspect are Witches.
Nearest you are two Witch signatures... you think. One is strong, the other is weak...
You should...
[] Attack the weaker one.
[] Attack the stronger one.
[] Go back inside, this was a bad idea.
[x] Attack the weaker one
You decide to not push yourself. After all, it will do Madoka no good if you get yourself killed. You'll see how you feel after taking on the weak Witch.
You leap off the roof, falling from heights that would turn a normal person to paste. As it is, you simply land in a crouch, and leap to a nearby rooftop.
One thing that never changed throughout the timelines was your love of roof-hopping, when nobody was looking.
That, and punk music.
You find the entrance in a dank deserted alleyway.
The entrance to the Witch's Barrier is wide open... nobody is here yet, which is good.
You're not sure if you can fight off another Magical Girl in your current state.
As you step over the threshold, you experience a brief sensation of vertigo, before you find yourself standing upside down on what appears to be islands of glass shards. Below your head is a series of crisscrossing railroad tracks.
All is silent at the moment...
Guess this is one of the Witches you're going to have to hunt for.
What to do...

OOC: Not really enough votes, but that action is inconsequential enough to execute...
[X] Check Inventory
-[X] Equip Desert Eagle
You equip one of your Desert Eagle pistols. You used one of these to shoot the third timeline's Madoka.
Ah, memories.
It's the Mark XIX and chambered for .50 Action Express rounds.
Against Familiars, you're pretty sure that this qualifies as extreme overkill. [X] Search the Barrier
You hop from glass shard island to glass shard island, careful not to cut yourself. You begin to feel frustrated with the lack of anything to fight. You need that Grief Seed. Madoka needs that Grief Seed.
You land so hard on one glass island that it cracks.
And you hear it whimper.
No, it couldn't be...
You quickly look down, to see a murky face looking out of the glass. The other glass islands begin to move, circling you.
Looks like you've found the Familiars.
COMBAT START
You try to track your multiple opponents with your gun. Damn, you're surrounded! Thankfully, you have a variety of attacks at your disposal... You haven't "lived" for decades without greatly expanding your magical bag of tricks. Time Stop is just the beginning. Your wish was one of protection and... you can get into the details later. For now, time to fight!

[X] Go on the offensive
-[X] Shoot down 7 familiars so you are no longer surrounded, then charge them with the golf club, stopping time just before making contact to give each one a solid smash.

-[X] Shoot down 7 familiars so you are no longer surrounded, then charge them with the golf club, stopping time just before making contact to give each one a solid smash.
-[X] Also stop time whenever it looks like you might get hit with an attack. Don't stop it for too long, just to make sure you don't get hit.
I suck at ideas in general.
This one seems good.
