Equestria at War

yes, now to rule the Diamond Dogs to a new age of peace and HA HA HA HA HA, almost got through that, no the enslavements will come to the Griffon (plus any other species we can get without drawing my "allies" to war me)

Best of luck to you and your allies. Do I get a discount if I buy in bulk?

How is the Diamond Dog banking sector?
well to answer some questions, to the shifting sands, that depends on what you are attempting to buy.
And to Cloak & Dagger, from what I understand poorly, so very poorly, or at least the once grand treasures have been taken ( well that is in lore , outside of lore, I don't know if there is a gameplay effect, but no worries I plan on fixing that problem) and in the new immortal words of my faith, Gems for the Gem throne and Blood for the RNGsus Gods

Is this still open? I've got these three picked out if it is:

1) Kingdom of Pingland
2) County of Longsword
3) Principality of Lushi

Never got into MLP and haven't played HoI4, but I have played HoI 2 and Darkest Hour extensively.

We haven't officially started yet, and I don't plan to do so until tomorrow, due to some IRL stuff I need to finish up today. Still, you are accepted.

Oh boy EAW is my all time favorite mod. Looking forward to this

1.) Griffon Liberation Army - We'll have Kloseu's head on stake by the end of the year. First Prywhen, next Griffonia!
2.) Kingdom of Brodfeld - The insolent peasants will be punished!
3.) Skyfall Trade Federation - *money noises*

I think they have national spirit debuffing their economy related to that. Can be removed by going down the economy tree, or taking revenge against Hellquil? I don't really remember I only played them once.

Always happy to welcome more players. Also glad to see the important communist nations manned by players.

1. Commonwealth of new mareland
2. Gryphian host.
3. Blackrock's bandits.

First time playing an RP. Somewhat excited to see what will happen.

Certainly didn't expect so many, but I'm not complaining. Gonna add you in to our nation list and then head to bed. Will set up the IC thread tomorrow when I get home from work.

Alright. IC thread is now up along with the first post. You may begin posting now, and I will be quickly working to send you your national traits now.

Equestria at War IC - IC

Here is a link for you all. You can send any actions you want secret through the PMs I'm sending.

Alright. That should be everyone. Do not be afraid to ask for more information, if that is what you desire. I have maps of all the nations and pictures of their leaders that I can provide to those that want them.

We'll let this turn go on for a bit longer than usual to allow people to settle into their roles. Deadline for delivering your actions for the turn will be the 16th of March.

How do you raise your army cap? Also how does Ceslas' combat system work.

How will technology be handled? Slot system and using HOI4's tech tree or more free form?

Alright. Army cap can be raised through a number of different ways. Expanding your nation, improving your army/navy in some way, or through special events. (For example, if the Dread League defeats the Arcturians and begins their Black Crusade their army count will start to rapidly increase thanks to all the dead they are raising.)

Research is conducted by spending an action. You have a set number of actions per turn to be used for anything really, be it research, building something, general improvements to your nation, etc. You get more actions per turn by becoming a Great Power, and that is handled by myself when you meet certain criteria.

I also just noticed your last question there, sorry @Mr Wumbo . The army/navy system basically works like this: Based on what race your nation uses your armies will be better at certain things and worse at others. For example while Equestrian ponies are quite good at a lot of things, but excellent at none. Griffons natural ability to fly makes them the perfect aircraft pilots, and so on. If you are curious about the strength of the races I'd be happy to send that info over the PM.

When two armies or navies clash against eachother I do some magic in the background to determine the winner, based on the racial stuff, technology, tactics used by both sides (provided in your warplans, if you send one.) and so on. I will be giving a summary of all the battles and such during my turn posts, which I will try to finish up on the Sunday after the turn deadline.

So how does the action system work? and do we need to lay out a plan for what we want to do this turn?

Edit: Does anyone remember the in-game start date as well?

Action system works like this: You get 4 actions every turn, or 5 actions if you are a Great Power. You do a turn post for your country where you write something up to spend your actions on. If there is something within the action that you feel should be secret, you send that to the GM only. Actions can be spent on a lot of stuff, like building something, passing a law, or in the case if you find yourself at war, your country's warplan. Warplans should always be kept secret, and is what you use to direct your armies and navies to where they need to be.

As for your second question, it is currently the year 1007 After Lunar Banishment (ALB), during the Spring Season. Next turn will be the Summer Season of 1007 ALB.

CRACKED PRISM

Telling someone the Crystal Empire's political divisions were massive would be an "obvious understatement", one of the few things that could be agreed on by many of the empire's subjects. The causes of the Empire's problems varied, but the largest of them to a sizable minority was Equestrian dominance.

Despite, or possibly due to the much weaker industrial state of the Empire, several Equestrian companies began to set up shop in the Crystal Empire. Now, they have an effective monopoly in the region, much to the irritation of local businessmen and companies within the Empire's borders. Naturally, the factories share similar conditions to their Equestrian counterparts, garnering the ire of the workers.

Several Equestrians even hold high places in government, which manages to unite some complaints of the workers and the aristocracy, if for different reasons. The lower classes claim that the Equestrian officials are biased towards their own people, and the aristocracy believe that they should be in those posts.

The final, yet most stabbing issue to several is that their queen herself is an equestrian.

The Empire, originally an independent state set up to be free from Equestria is, in the words of many political figures on all sides of the line, a puppet state in all but name.

Though a majority are tolerant of the current regime, several far left, far right, and even a few harmonious elements are anti-equestrian, though the scope of how anti equestrian they are varies.

The communists call for a society akin to Stalliongrad's own, free of the shackles of Equestria, and free of the monarchy. However they are divided similar to Stalliongrad's own factionalism, and talks between differing communist cells tend to end in angry ideological discussions.

The Harmonists are divided. Though a large majority remain tolerant of the regime, others call for a constitutional monarchy, using the absolutionism of Sombra's past regime as an example of why the monarchy should not have such power.

A thin fringe movement even call for a transition to a full democracy, but this movement is largely looked on with derision and outside of a few student leaders, has little traction.

Finally are the far right elements. Monarchists loyal to an older crown and newer elements taking pages from Beakaloni's fascist writings, their loyalty lies to a strongman. Sombra, the old ruler of the Crystal Empire and one of, if not the most powerful unicorns on the planet, is not yet gone from their memory. Taught of in storybooks and historical archives, Sombra was a king who led his people to greatness.

He also murdered his opposition, enslaved thousands, and made those who still resisted wish they could die, but his supporters claim those were needed excesses in such primitive times, and note that his staunch anti-Equestrian policies kept the Empire from becoming what it currently is today.

However, much to the embarrassment of the Captain of the Guard, Sombra Supporters are even in the capital. Hidden cloaked monarchists whisper of plans to bring back their glorious leader, while fascists march in the streets, protesting and occasionally getting into street skirmishes with communists.

Yet, despite all of the Crystal Empire's boiling tensions and problems, they're preparing to host the Friendship Games and hopefully show their best side to the world. Security has been doubled, and the Games are receiving a huge amount of funds to make sure they're as lavish as can be.

Hopefully all goes well.

(I'll put up a number sheet and actions in next post.)
Meanwhile, in Equestria:

Oh crap I forgot to ask on vital question that should've been raised earlier: how will EaW's tech differences be addressed?

My nation basically started the game with muskets and muzzle loaded brass cannons, while some other Arcturian order and Poenidhan doesn't even start with firearms at all. And then there's the Buffalos with their combat pies.

There's a great leap between pre-gunpowder weapons, to muskets, to modern rifles and later assault rifles. Basically, for a pre-gunpowder army to win against muskets, you basically gotta drown them in bodies to have any chance of winning. Same is true between muskets and normal rifles. A mare with a WW2 rifle is far more effective at killing people than a mare with a musket. If you don't want to take the time and resources to develop your own models and doctrine, you could always request foreign instructors to come along, and to buy foreign-made modern weapons, to improve your army.
