The Rev-Mil council once again meets in the riverside town of White Flower to discuss the progress of the revolution. As before, the King and his slaves have yet to finally realize the futility of their struggle, as usual. And so the discussions instead mostly focuses on domestic matters, specifically the rampant literacy among the revolutionaries, the specter of monarchism hanging menacingly above us even in the liberated territories, and the still ongoing famine. The talk of an another military offensive is drowned by the previous topics, however some delegates are able to slips in some discussion of the military into the congress.
  1. On the issue of education. All who can prove themselves to be formally educated shall be exempted from the military and labor, and immediately assigned as teachers. Funds are to be diverted into funding schools and repairing existing ones, at the moment only childrens are to be educated.
  2. On the issue of internal security. In the interest of protecting the revolution from reactionaries, the People's Committee of Internal Safety is to be formed. They shall provide law enforcement, as as counter intelligence, and hunting down royalist elements in our territory. The Rev-Mil shall organize the bureaucratic process and vets it core members from the militia and the laborers.
  3. On the issue of food. Following the Stalliongrad example, collectivization efforts are to be undertaken. At the moment it shall be limited in scope as to not disrupt the current food supply chain. Failing farms are to be joined together into communes where they can share resource and labor together, while in the urban area the unemployed are to be encouraged and ferried in to the countryside to provide labor for these new farming communes. To focus on the effort of eradicating the famine, the People's Committee of Provisions shall be formed to help organize the collectivization.
  4. On the issue of military. Over the year we have accumulated plenty of monarchist prisoners, either captured in battle, or caught from among the populace. At the moment most of them are mostly sent away into camps and sentenced into hard labor. However, the Rev-Mil seeks to rehabilitates them in a different way. Penal units are to be formed from the prisoners under the supervision of commissars from the PCIS. The commissars are to filters out troublemakers still possessing reactionary thoughts in a more permanent way while encouraging all who shows dedication and loyalty to the revolution. Once deemed rehabilitated by the commissars they shall be released back into the public.
Diplomacy:
Prywhen declares support for Longsword revolutionaries in their gallant effort to destroy reactionaries. The brutality of the Count's government in his genocide of the innocent is highlighted in our propaganda.

Prywhen condemns the rise of Beakolini and the rotten Wingbardian monarchy for their failure to prevent this. All Wingbardian revolutionaries are wholeheartedly welcomed into Prywhen, and promised that one day we shall liberates their homeland once and for all.

Artist of all arts are gathered together to form the People's Committee of Griffonities to provide a focused effort in enriching our emerging socialist culture. They shall produce arts, musics, and books supporting the revolution while countering old reactionary influences.

In secret the PCIS makes contact with the underground black market to look for arms dealers who are willing to provide us with modern weapons.

1. Many of the new teachers are grateful for their new positions and exemptions from fighting, especially as a number of them were found on the frontlines over the summer. Now safe within liberated areas, the first unified lesson plans have been created, while schools, new and old, open their doors. While there is a shortage of building materials both for new construction and repairs to existing buildings, for now the people of Prywhen make do. Children and their parents flock in droves to the new institutions, eager to learn.

2. While there are those that question the need for such an organization in a socialist paradise, the reality of the situation is that there are still those within the republic that do not fully believe in it's cause. The PCIS is quickly established and it's echelons filled with the most experienced griffons that the republic has, and soon enough their members patrol liberated territories as a provision police force, stopping crimes and putting the public at ease with their presence. Their counter-intelligence arm is also equally effective, rooting out a number of hidden royalists within the republic.

3. Collectivization has merely been a concept before the revolutions in Equestria and in Prywhen. While the comrades of Stalliongrad may have failed in their efforts your own officials are not easily discouraged. Under the guidance of the PCP farms that have suffered repeated harvest failures are gathered together under government supervision to share their meager resources together. While the project is just beginning, many are hopeful that this will improve the food yields in the future, especially combined with the amount of potatoes being imported to be planted throughout Prywhen. Some however are critical still, thinking it would have been a wiser decision to begin these efforts during the planting season instead.

4. The new penal units of the Revolutionary Army are made up of both former royalists and criminals caught by the new People's Committee of Internal Safety. While morale is at an all-time low as is expected from conscripts, it seems that in most situations the penal soldiers fear their political commissar more than they do the enemy. Sadly, their first real engagements were not a normal situation. Stationed along the western reaches of Prywhen to train and prepare, far away from the frontlines of the fighting, multiple units suddenly found themselves under attack from multiple directions. While a number of units managed to withdraw in short order to avoid more surprise attacks, those units that were unfortunate enough to lose their commissars quickly broke apart, likely to form bandit groups in the wilderness.

The identity of the attackers along the west are none other than the bandit clans led by the hated Blackrock. It seems that the royalists have promised much to the battle-hardened mountain warriors, as the bandit clans are not merely raiding, pillaging and burning, but they are actually occupying Prywhen lands in many places along the border. While for now, this has not impacted the situation much on the royalist front, but the new western front will desperately need more experienced forces directed to it, lest the liberated territories be ripe for the bandits to pick.

In lighter news however, refugees from Wingbardy have arrived over the summer, either across the southern seas or through the northern trade routes. While they are not exactly soldiers yet, they will be soon, and so long as the famine does not worsen, the revolution in Prywhen will have plenty of griffonpower to spare in coming battles.

Kingdom of Wittenland

Capital: Wittenburgh

Ruler: Queen White Star

Ideology: Non-Aligned

Race: Pony

Faction: River Coalition

Population: 4.79 Million

Army: 2/2

Navy: 0/0

Actions
1) PARTIES: Sometimes, there are no notable parties or events in this legendary party-country. This is one of them. They are still extravagant, luxurious, and expensive as hell, but they are not noteworthy. Except for maybe what occurs behind the scenes.....
2)Recently, a new group of artificers have gained the attention of White Star in her quest for a newer, more modern army. These are advanced practitioners, who instead of focusing on mass production of magic for simple small weaponry, have decided to instead use their knowledge to perform intricate enchantments for a few powerful enchantments. White Star has considered her country's specific needs, and as such has placed her faith in this form of advanced enchanting.
3)This is not the only military-related thing occurring. Right now, the military forces along the Barad border are performing magical exercises near this breakaway state. Perhaps this could be a prelude to war....
4) Arden Hoofler has not been idle after the release of his book. In fact, he has been organizing a new faction in Wittenland. With the support of the newly rising "middle class", putting together the new Organization, called the NNWMM or The New National Wittenland Meritocratic Movement. Taking inspiration from various influence, it's ideology calls for the betterment of Wittenland so that it can once more be strong and mighty. A return to form influenced by new ideas. It has already begun pooling resources into speeches and assisting "worthy peasants held back by the degenerates", though of course, it has taken care to not truly offend the powerful nobility. In fact, there have been mummers of support within certain noble circles...

1. Parties, parties, parties. It seems all that the Wittenland nobility can think of these days. While as mentioned before there are no major events, there are still many privately hosted parties, where wine flows like water and other debauchery and decadence is frightfully common.

2. The art of enchanting is both time consuming and energy intensive on the mage or mages casting the spell. While most ponies would instead use a personal shield spell, the recent advancements in technology have made a number of engineers and artificers have come together to create a prototype of what they have dubbed the "Magic Tank". Using heavy reinforcement enchantments it is believed that with enough time and magic a vehicle could be made basically impervious to damage. While the prototype isn't that great, it is a fantastic testbed for future advancements. The Wittenland Army has also officially contracted the designers to conduct further research on the matter, as part of the newly established Wittenburgh Armor Artificer Group.

3. The exercises along the Barrad border go ahead as planned, and much to the surprise of the organizing officers there were offers from the River Republic Military and a number of bordering Ponaidhean tribes to join the exercises. Seeing little reason not to do so, the offers were accepted and the wargames that followed were lively to say the least. While the River Republic forces clearly held a technological edge in terms of weapons, they had little experienced compared to the others, nor any particularly great officers or mages. Ponaidhean tribal bands proved generally ineffective against both forces in the open, blasted apart most of the time by artillery before they could close to melee range, although compared to the others they particularly excelled in ambush tactics, netting them a few victories aswell. A great sense of friendship has been established between the three militaries, which is sure to be useful in the future.

4. While technically still an absolute monarchy with no political representation, the NNWMM proves to be a highly successful organization, attracting a number of followers from both the peasants and emerging middle classes of the Kingdom's cities. This explosion in popularity has made the NNWMM the sixth largest of such political organizations in the entire Kingdom over just a period of a few months, showing the powerful charismatic abilities of Arden Hoofler. Now regularly invited to participate in political debates, it is expected that the NNWMM's meteoric rise continues in the next season.

Lake City-1007-Summer (12 AR)

Name: Lake City
Form of Government: Democracy
Capital: Jezeragrad
Ruler: Springtime Frost
Ideology: Non-Aligned
Religion: Secular
Race: Pony
Faction: River Coalition
Population: 6.51 Million
National Spirits: No
Armed forces: 3 Armies/3 Maximum : 0 Navies/0 Maximum

Major Actions:
Lifting the poor out of poverty is a goal that must be achieved to pave the way to a stronger and more efficient Lake City. As a start, the government will clean up ponies starving on the street, enabling them to work for food, a shack to live in with 20 other ponies, and a bit of change on the side. For many, this may be the only reliable way to end the day to a half-full stomach. Ponies that perform the best will receive extra money at the end of each week, and may even be promoted into the army if they're deemed to be a good fit.

With the cheap manual labor provided by these workers, the railways may be expanded upon and serve both civilian and military interests - albeit with a slight focus on enabling industrial capabilities. The trains will run.

One must know themselves first in order to operate efficiently. With that in mind, a wave of surveyors will be sent out to survey all of all territories under Lake City's control. Soil samples will be taken, water observed, maps made, and prospectors employed to look for minerals. All the information will then be taken into account, after which the land will be evaluated for suitability for farming, housing, or an assorted variety of industries.

With the example set by many other nations within the river lands alliance, Lake City has also agreed to gradually demilitarize their borders with Wittenland and Deponya. Lake City expects a complete a withdrawal of the military within 6 months, though border police will maintain their presence in the area. Units originally stationed on the border will now mostly go through military exercises, in an effort of locating weakness' and possible solutions.

After Leewald's coup was squashed, the importance of a cooperative military became increasingly obvious. Loyal generals will receive pay raises in the form of land and money, and retiring generals will be given cushy jobs in the government. More... problematic units will be mixed around so as to help in rebalancing portions of the army. (OOC: @Ankh gave me the idea)

Minor Actions:

With the conclusion of the coup, officers in the army who aided the monarchists, General Wild Tree in particular, will stand trial before the State Tribunal for treason.

The lack of education and the alarmingly low literacy rates for much of the population of Lake City is a very obvious problem. Though Lake City doesn't have the resources available to divert to education as of yet, preliminary testing of a new schooling system has begun, with a large focus placed on reading, writing, arithmetic, and copying successful pieces of education systems from as many other sources as possible.

1. The gathering of the unemployed to construct public works is a sensible idea for the government, as there isn't exactly a shortage of those willing to work for food. By the end of summer a number of new railway lines now dot the countryside, eagerly built by enthusiastic workers, thanks to the great incentives of food, shelter and money for the hardest working ponies. While the money in the long term isn't enough to support themselves completely, it is at the very least a step in the right direction for the government to take in it's efforts to combat poverty.

2. Being generally flat grasslands and floodplains, it isn't surprising to see that a lot of land is both good for agriculture but also industrial construction, especially along the rivers of the nation, thanks to a abundant supply of coal found in the southern reaches near the Gryphian border. Aside from that however prospectors have only been able to locate a few untapped iron ore veins and a large deposit of bauxite in the eastern regions, which could be used to create aluminum within the right foundries. While some may feel that the effort was a waste in the end, to many it is another way of bringing the people of the nation together.

3. As the summer draws to a close about half of the troops stationed at internal Coalition checkpoints has been redeployed elsewhere, right on schedule, and by winter the relocation to fortifications along the borders with the Holy Orders to the west and the Gryphians to the south will be completed. Exercises and war games conducted by the Lake City Army shows that whole the army is expertly led and well equipped when compared to their neighbors, it is not trained at fighting outside terrain it is comfortable with, and to an extent the Cossack tactics of the Gryphian Host is hard for a non-motorized army to respond to. The raiders simply fly in, grab what they can and burn what they can't take, and then they leave again before any sort of military force can be mobilized to respond against them.

4. After such an unprecedented event such as the coup attempt, it is not a surprise to most that the government would seek to reign the army in somewhat. The exact deal forged between the military and the rest of the government is not known to the public, although one can speculate. Either way after extensive negotiations it seems that both sides had reached agreement, with the army moving to distance itself from political matters and the government in turn not further rocking the boat, so to speak. While not all were satisfied, as is often the case with a compromise, those that did disagree suddenly found their loyal units shifted to an entirely different posting for an undetermined amount of time.

In other news, after a short trial before the State Tribunal, the Lake City military court, former General Wild Tree, his high-ranking supporters and the commanding officers of the units involved with the coup were all sentenced to death by firing squad. The rest of their men will merely enjoy lifetime sentences for their heinous actions. When marched out into the courtyard for his sentencing, Wild Tree refused a blind fold, preferring it seems to meet death face to face. His attempts to interrupt the execution by spouting about his reasons for conducting the coup led to him being muzzled until the sentence was carried out. The body are to be buried in a secluded part of the Jezeragrad Military Cemetery at the request of Wild Tree's extended family.

As for the government's education preparations, good foundations have been laid that will be perfectly suitable for a new educational system, once the nation's resources are once again free to be spent. Analysts are optimistic about the improvements that can be made to the national literacy rates once the project begins in earnest.

Summer of 1007 ALB

Name: Diamond Mountain
Capital: Diamond Mountain
Ruler: King Rover Diamondshield
Ideology: Fascist
Race: Diamond Dog
Faction: River Coalition
Population: 3.82 Million
2 Armies/2 Maximum

King Rover had begun to patch the metaphorical holes in his country and was getting ready for sleep when his thoughts turned to his daughter, she who unbeknownst to him had help found and lead a an entire political faction from under his snout. He had to admit she had done well, but the things the movement wants to happen, they will undermine generations of work that the Diamond Dogs have done. Normally Rover would just destroy the movement and only take the things that might be of value from their philosophy, but this was what his daughter had made, and any good parent wants their child to succeed. Thoughts of what to do about the situation buzzed around in his mind, he could not get rid of his daughter for several reasons and the Diamond Dogs hold no magic to fix the issue like the Pony. And with that thought a idea came to mind, an idea that would require some time and planning but an idea that could spell greatness for Diamond Mountain

Four Actions:
1. focus on making industrialization more prominent in Diamond Mountain
2. ask Princess Molly to help oversee the continued efforts of creating a public education system ( But make sure she does not try to undermine the current Government with the subjects the pups will be taught)
3. Begin making plans to reclaim the lost treasures held by the contemptable Knightly Order of Hellquill
4. begin the process of making more guns and cannons for the military for the coming war

1. Workshops and craftsdogs have existed for as long as the Diamond Dogs have remembered, a true factory has not been seen until today. Constructing it deep underground both to provide easy access to it's workers and to protect it from outside attack, this first factory turns out to be a tremendous success for the Mountainhome, and is sure to only be the first of many. Using it to manufacture building supplies from the ores and materials mined deep within the earth beneath the Mountain, it is expected by many to see hundreds of smoke stacks sticking out of the rock of Diamond Mountain by this time next year if the kingdom's efforts continue to remain focused upon industrialization.

2. Molly promises to both be a dutiful daughter and capable administrator for the school system, it remains to be seen if she will try to undermine her father in the future. For now however the first school in the Mountainhome has opened it's doors for the first time, accepting the sons and daughters of the nobility to begin with, although Princess Molly hopes to eventually include all Diamond Dogs within her halls of learning. The school subjects are all as expected, made to prepare the young pups for their future as overseers, engineers, scientists and soldiers, all the needed ingredients for a successful nation state. Molly's current project seems to be an effort to make optional classes available for adult Diamond Dogs, to combat the illiteracy problem within the Mountainhome.

3. The military leaders plot and plan over the summer months, the results are sadly not what King Rover expected. While the Diamond Dogs are excellent diggers and will be able to besiege Hellquill fortresses much easier than others, when out in the open they are all but defenseless to the flying might of the Imperial Knights, who may simply swoop down at will to cut down Diamond Dog soldiers. This will pose a serious problem for supply convoys, as it would be far too expensive and time-consuming to dig tunnels all the way to the cities of the hated Knightly Order. There have also been rumors of the Knights conducting research into other ways of neutralizing the greatest strength of the Diamond Dogs, that of digging, via some form of magic. It alone is a frightening thought.

4. While the military leaders discuss and debate their options, the workshops of the Mountainhome are hard at work making the needed tools for war. Cannon forges run day and night while rifle artisans employ three times as many apprentices as usual to meet all the demands of the various contracts handed out by the government. It is during this period of rearmament that the new Diamond Dog engineers make a particular discovery within the mountain. Magical crystals can be used as a power source, and one engineer had the idea of mounting that crystal to a suit of armor. With a exoskeleton installed, the armor can be made much thicker and heavier than what normally a Diamond Dog alone could carry. This new "Iron Dog" armor has been presented as a viable new weapon within the King's arsenal, although for it remains only a prototype, and much funding and resources must likely be spent to make a version that can strike a balance between power and production costs...

Other Eastern Griffonian Events

Republic unveils Twin Initiatives for the Coalition

The River Republic has always been the greatest proponent of greater cooperation and integration between the member states of the River Coalition, feeling that together they can all be much stronger than any single state on Griffonia. While recent talks between the states have been stymied by the chaos of the Imperial Collapse in 979, the current President of the River Republic, River Swirl, announced the creation of the River Science Society, which would allow all member states within the Coalition to more easily share scientific knowledge, data and advancements with the others. In addition, the River Games were unveiled, patterned off the Equestrian Games in the far west, each member state is to send a team of athletes to represent their nations within a annual sporting competition. Received to much fanfare in many of the member states, it remains to be seen however if these two new initiatives will help bind the Coalition member states closer together, as no doubt River Swirl hopes.

Equestrian expeditions in the Riverlands

To the surprise of many both within and outside the Riverlands, a pair of fleets were sighted off the coast of Nimbusia by the end of the summer, one flying the flag of the Changeling Lands, and the other of the land of Equestria. Both it seems were this far east for trade and exploration's sake, and after a few hasty agreements were signed, the River Trading Company was established to facilitate further trading opportunities between the two giants to the west and the River Coalition. Of course, once both flotillas discovered the other was there, a tense stand-off occurred until cooler heads prevailed and both fleets withdrew in short order. The two fleets would not meet again until both arrived at the island of Greneclyf, seeking to meet with the Griffonian Changelings. While these "pacifist" Changelings were happy to sign treaties declaring friendship with both groups of diplomats, and to further deep trade between them, their current Queen, Gytha, adamantly refused to sign any formal alliances. The meetings otherwise went well, and both fleets left once more in good order.

Ship vanished in the Mysterious North

Picture of the CLN Z-43, taken shortly before it's disappearance

As is often the case, another vessel has been lost in the Sea of Corpses. This time however it was far more than a simple fishing trawler or icebreaker ship, but rather the Changeling Z-43, a destroyer serving with the Changeling Lands Navy under Admiral Lysander's expeditionary fleet. Likely sent to chart the coasts of the Dead Peninsula, the vessel was engulfed in a fog as it passed into the Sea of Corpses, and has not been seen again for a week, despite extensive searches conducted by the expedition. For now, it seems that Admiral Lysander has given up, as his fleet sets sail for home before the fall arrives. One can wonder as to the fate of the vessel or it's 323 crew members, but the most likely scenario is that the strong storm of the Sea of Corpses dashed the vessel onto the rocky shores of the Dead Peninsula, where the crew would then either starve to death or succumb to the elements. While there has been no official communique regarding the matter by the Changeling government, the family and friends of the crew are likely already mourning their loss.

King Rover Diamondshield was not mad, he was furious. After his Advisors had told him about how while we were still strong enough to break into the fortresses of the damn Knights, they still held the advantage, all because of their flight. The plan to invade will have to be put on hold until a solution can be found, but that wasn't what made the King furious, it was the rumor that those damn birds were trying to take away the right of the dog to dig, that was not acceptable. after calming himself and thinking more clearly, a new plan began to form, he had those Magic Crystals and the "Iron Dog" plan, and he thought back to a plan that one engineer created, using some airship schematics he bought from some pony merchants, the engineer came up with some designs that could prove useful for sky combat, however this was right after the Horde was stolen by the knights so Diamond Mountain could not afford to use these plans. King Rover now had a smile on his snout "Those Knights think they are untouchable in the sky, well lets see if that's true."

Four Actions:
1. Start the process of delving deeper underground to find more riches and other resources
2. Start the funding of better defenses for supply convoys in an attempt to counter the Ariel superiority of the Griffon
3. Send one of these Magical Crystals to the River Science Society with the intent to further understand the capabilities and the possibly side effects of the crystals
4. Begin making plans to combat the Griffon knights in the one place they won't expect to find dogs, In the Sky (Start making plans for Planes)

1. Work from the previous season continues, with new machine tools being introduced to renovated factories sporting shining new assembly lines. Despite the political chaos gripping many parts of the nation, the Empire's industrial sector blossoms back to life with government assistance. While many may be leery of following the Equestrian example, none can say it is not effective.

[Outdated Industrial Sector trait removed.]

2. An increase in the presence of both local police and army units drive all but the hardiest of criminals underground, but does little to prevent communist meetings or Sombraite gatherings. In an effort to combat these two dangerous groups, a curfew is introduced in major cities by local guards, while gatherings of more than 3 ponies are forbidden unless all participants have government authorization. This is far more effective, ensuring even a major socialist rabblerouser ends up within the walls of The Crystal City jail. On the other hand most normal citizens finds it irritating to seek permission to gather and have a good time.

3. Following the recent curfew and major arrests, and the government's lack of response regarding the obvious Equestrian interference in the lives of the Crystal Ponies, anti-Equestrian posters spring up all over the major population centers of the Empire, decrying the "puppets" in the government for allowing Equestria to rule the Empire in all but name politically, economically and socially. Unrest begins to brew as more and more ponies find themselves agreeing with the posters, and a clear nationalist block is forming within the Crystal Empire.

4. Dark tidings herald dark times. The current chaos is but a taste of what is to come should the Cadenza dynasty continue to sit upon the Crystal Throne, and all those loyal to the Empire knows this. The faithful and the useful go out into the night to gather the important ingredients that shall allow the Empire to turn the darkness into a strength, as it always should have been. Sympathetic mages misplace crystals and books, the loyal amongst the elite grand their funds for the nation's rebirth, and the faithful in the armed forces prepare for the day they will be called upon to sacrifice all for their true master. Soon, it will be ready. Soon.

To my aunt,

Both my husband and I thank you for the support, and apologize for allowing the Friendship games to be ruined in such a manner.

However, despite the threats Sombra, Artic Lilly, and the opposing coalitions pose, the Crystal Kingdom's problems must at least officially be an internal affair.

Unofficially however, we will gladly accept a modest amount of support. Several harmonists are already calling for secession, and our opposition capitalizes on this atmosphere.

While we cannot accept a large amount of support without displeasing our subjects immensely, or much publicly, any private contribution will as always, be appreciated.

Thank you, as always.

The Changeling Lands shares your disdain for Equestria, and we take every opportunity to counter their expansion.

Perhaps too many, for our interests are spread far and wide, and we find ourselves with little to donate. Unfortunately we must request payment up front for any supplies you may be interested in, though so long as you meet that criteria there should be no other obstacles.

As for magic, our historical state has been starvation. Our magic traditions have been limited, with large scale magic use being limited only to the queens their highest ranking attendants. We have no ancient tomes to offer.

Our present status is a different situation. Should you discover any such knowledge, or conduct research of your own, we can provide as much magic as neccessary so long as we are kept informed.

For our part, should we come by any pertinent information about your enemies, we will inform you, and we expect the same from you.

Fall 1007 ALB
Governor-General Jet sets office in parliment.

Jet set stared at the swirling glass of Griffenheim brandy held aloft with his magic. He was troubled the visit of the Princess did much to bolster his spirits and that of the population. Equestian company were investing again, infrastructure had been improve across the country. Business opening their doors everywhere it look like the end of their troubles was nearing. But of course trouble is never far from the mind of the Governor-General; griffons, it was always griffons. The question of what to be done about them getting especially fierce whenever the new railroad neared one of the clan-holds and now the rather uncomfortable news of Aqueileia practically erupting to the north of New Mareland and Beakolini and...and..

"Sir?" Jest set looked up to see his secretary looking at him "its time to go."

Jet set sighed as he put the glass down.

time to go to work.

1. The National housing act: With this act the Government will endevour to create affordable housing for the ponies of New Mareland

2. Universal basic income: In order to ensure the population will be able to get enough food to cover the basic need of a pony the Universal basic income act in conjunction with the National housing act will be passed to better the lives of New Marelanders everywhere.

3. The Griffin affairs committee: Time and time again has the griffin question come up. And time and time again has New Mareland floundered in answering this question. No longer! We will create a committee whose sole task is to find answers to this question and present them before parliament

4. Begin preparations for the Grand Galloping Galla. Co-operate with the Equestrians whenever possible. We must ensure this is as perfect as we can possibly make it!

Minor action.

University students have gathered in front of Parliament. To-shockingly- protest the treatment of griffons in New Mareland. The crowd is made up of a mix of young ponies and griffs. None appear to be older than 25. This odd site is gathering another crowd, who don't seem too happy at what these young people are protesting...

Your niece, Candace.

Despite the fact that our own interpretations of communism may clash and our emphasis on self reliance against Equestrian imperialism, the RCW is willing to accept any covert advisors and support from an equal in revolutionary fervor, and will be willing to return the favor in the future should it be needed.

SECRET

Greetings, from the coalition of monarchists and fascists Equestria stomps on, known as the NSP.

Doubtless, a regal being with such amazing beauty and intellect as yourself knows precisely why we are attempting to make contact with you. But, just for the sake of repetition for any aides or commanders who receive this message before you, here is our most humble and desperate request.

Equestria and the puppets they have placed on our throne continue to interfere with our people, just as they have interfered with your own.

We would be willing to receive any covert support you are willing to provide, and should events go as planned, possibly much more, no doubt in exchange for benefits provided on our end.

Should your people also have access to any forbidden tomes of knowledge wrongfully censored by pro-Equestrian propagandists, we will be willing to pay for them in any way.

Thank you for your time.

-Dust Snowfall, sending this message on behalf of Radiant Hope.
The Premier is ill but she wishes you to know you have our sympathies but you should have contacted us last season. We are engaged with Nova Griffonia and Skyfall and can spare nothing.

Equestria

Many see the Buffalo request for integration as validation of Harmonic Ideology, yet the disturbance this might cause among ponies brings worry. The situation in the Crystal Empire continues be a major concern, and it seems steps are finally being taken.

1. A great wall along our northwestern border: The great fortressworks against potential Changeling invasion are completed.
2. Night-Friends: Slowly over the next few months, anti-Threstral laws are abolished, and numerous mixed late-night parties and festivals are hosted, to get ponies accustomed to Thestrals, showing that they aren't as bad as some may think, but merely normal people like any other pony.

* Uproar and consternation ripples through the nobility and upper echelons of Equestrian society as it is announced that this year's Grand Galloping Gala will take place in the relatively exotic New Mareland. Various persons of note within New Mareland itself, and from the Griffonian continent at large are invited to attend. A few Equestrian mining magnates and industrial giants also receive invitations, alongside those normally given to the nobility and other notable ponies. Transportation is available for those who wish it or require it, including various Equestrian ponies. Below is a non-exhaustive list of foreign invitees, who are free to substitute appropriate representatives if too busy to attend themselves, and are free to bring a small entourage of up to three people to the Gala itself:

- Princess Cadence of the Crystal Empire @RandomWriter

The Crystal Kingdom
1: With our industry up to snuff, the time has come to begin rearmament to suitable levels. After all, Changelings to the north. Rather alarming. And the nationalist bloc doesn't mind rearmament!

2: Artic Lilly is, in response to the previous reprisals to begin moving assets, herself, and important personnel underground, to prevent the bourgeoise from ripping up the revolution of the proletariat by the roots.

3: The NSP are to begin sending covert payment to the Changeling Empire in exchange for agents and millitary hardware, as was stated above.

4: The nationalist block of Harmonists is to begin demanding a referendum on full independence/cutting ties with Equestria despite the still larger group of Harmonists in opposition.

Minor Actions:

*Princess Candence and her husband will wholeheartedly accept the invitation from Princess Celestia.

*Anti-Equestrian protests continue, much to the annoyance of several guards, beat cops, et cetera.

Pony Maoism, and Democratic Nationalists.
Artic Lilly's ideological disagreements with Stalliongrad were relatively nuanced, with a large amount of them being over personal grievances and simple differences between the cultures and ponies of the two regions.

However, two of her disagreements would become driving principles of the 'Lillyite' brand of communism.

The first of these two disagreements was over the most revolutionary class. While several communists would claim that the urban working class were most important, Artic Lilly believed that the agrarian peasants were the most important revolutionary class, largely due to the Crystal Empire's lack of centralized industry outside of Equestrian factories (Until recently.)

The second, and somewhat more eerie than the first was her emphasis on re-education instead of simply purging opposition with the barrel of a gun. Treating the 'incorrect' as sick patients and themselves as doctors, Artic Lilly's followers would 'cure them' through the use of criticism in the form of mob mentality, shock treatment through magical spells, complete ostracizing on social and political levels, and other unscrupulous methods that brought both the number of Artic Lilly's political rivals down, and lowered the amount of internal criticism in her own party, even as she paradoxically preached for everyone to share their opinions and promoted tolerance.

Those who didn't get the real message loud and clear would later (after long re-education sessions) apologize for daring to call her measures authoritarian and replace their criticisms of her with criticisms of her critics.

Truly, she was a shining beacon of liberalism and freedom and her opponents were all Equestrian patsies or Sombra supporters.

————————————————————-

The second and most moderate of the three groups in opposition was the Harmonic Nationalists, a group of regular liberals and conservatives who wanted Equestrian interference out of their country, but unlike the radicals on both sides didn't want to take violent action or bring forth radical change.

In fact, though several promoted monarchs descended from older lines who weren't purged by Sombra in his time, several were "willing to keep the current rulers in the position of figureheads."

However, this coalition wasn't as large as the Harmonists who supported the full status quo, and their suggestion of a toothless referendum was decried for its lack of teeth. For starters, the referendum wanted many major Equestrian companies to close their doors, all diplomatic ties with Equestria to be cut and reviewed despite the rising power of the Changelings, and the Nationalist Harmonists had no way to enforce any of their ludicrous demands if and when Equestria said no if the referendum somehow passed.

In fact, the leader of the Nationalists Harmonists found the proposal so ludicrous that he didn't even show up to Parliament on the day of its proposal, claiming to have a much more pressing issue to deal with. (He was later seen at an aristocratic golf club two hours after the presentation of the idea and when pressed, claimed that golf was much more pressing than humiliating himself on national television.)

All in all, not their best introduction to politics.

To Wittenland @EternalLurker:
Greetings from the Changeling Lands.

During our expeditions to Eastern Griffonia, we have heard that Wittenland has long been dominated by the unicorns, whose magical prowess is legendary. While we ourselves possess the ability to use magic in a similar manner, due to biological factors we have been in very short supply of magic, and thus have limited historical experience with widespread magic use.

Recently, we have solved our supply bottlenecks, and are now looking to improve our institutional expertise in the area. We would like to express interest in the the possibility of learning from your nations skills, in the hopes of establishing a magical tradition of our own.

Naturally, we are willing to trade goods and services of similarly high value, should you be interested.

Greetings from the Changeling Lands.

During our expeditions to Eastern Griffonia, we have heard of the Diamond Dogs, who are said to be experts in mining and construction, and their lands rich in resources. While our nation also produces a large quantity of resources, this is more due to sheer size than any particular richness or technique, and per capita we face sharp limitations in production from lack of resources.

We are interested in purchasing resources from your lands, but also in cooperating closely to aid in our own resource extraction.

We are willing to pay for whatever you want to trade, and should any of your specialist be interested in traveling to our nation to assist our extraction or construction industries, they would be provided transportation and reimbursed handsomely.

Greetings from the Changeling Lands.

In the Equestrian continent, magical artifacts of great power are a rarity, few have been created and even fewer have survived the ages. Of those that survived, such as the Crystal Heart which protects the Crystal Empire, the knowledge of their construction has long been lost. Imagine our surprise when our expedition to Griffonia finds a land with magic not just of similar scale, but which is lead by those best able to use such incredible quantities of magic!

Having only recently gathered enough magic to consider such great works of our own, we are interested in learning from the masters in Barrad on the knowledge of how to go about it.

Should you be willing to let us, we are willing to pay in whatever manner is most suitable.

To Greneclyf @LurkingNorth:
Greeting from the Changeling Lands.

While there have long been rumors of a lost hive of Changelings somewhere in Griffonia, it has been surprising to finally find it, not as just a scattered band of wanderers, but a fully formed nation. We are fascinated by Greneclyf on every level, and seek to share knowledge and cooperate.

We are especially interested in how Greneclyf has managed to feed itself peacefully for so long. Have you developed more advanced or stealthy techniques? Are you suffering from food shortages? We have only recently begun collecting food as taxes, and so have a surplus to send as aid if required.

Beyond the survival level, we are also interested in reconnecting with our fellow Changelings. Establishing reliable transportation across the ocean and open borders to Changelings willing to travel between our lands would assist greatly, as would exchange programs between our universities. Large scale trade and a free trade agreement between our lands would also be preferred, although with your limited shipping capacity we would be required to build and a port on your territory with our own drones in order to ensure reliable and consistent transportation, rather than rely on extraordinarily expensive extreme-range expeditions. We are also uncertain if a true free trade agreement would cause any retaliatory action from the River Federation, as the River Trading Company may take offense.

Well met and your suggestion intrigues me.

if we send over some of our "workers" and their overseers to help with your mining operations, in return we wish for the appropriate payment for the services done.

In regards to trade, we of Diamond Mountain have plenty of workers we would be willing to sell to you, whatever you do to them is your desire, and in exchange we desire plans and schematics of your factories, as we have only just created our first modern factory, and we wish to improve our designs.

(Secret)
I do have another proposition, we have recently found magical crystals, and we are willing to trade some for a specific magical knowledge that your kind is know for, mind manipulation.
(Secret)

If these deals interest you, then we can hammer out the details.

While more workers are always helpful, we have ample labor at the moment. What we are looking for are trained, skilled, Diamond Dogs who are willing to work with us, so that we can learn from and make the best of their abilities.

Factory plans are an option, but note that such things are not built in a vacuum. Proper industrialization is a process with many levels, first of all education and training. Without such baselines, infrastructure and factories will decay or be unable to be updated due to lack of expertise. We are willing to provide such support if you request, however we also offer the chance of simply buying our own factory produced goods directly, undoubtedly more affordable as your nation is able to focus its full effort on what it is has a comparative advantage at.

This is one of the areas of our magic that we are most experienced in. A deal is possible, but temper your expectations, such manipulation is not the easy path to power folklore would have you believe. It is a delicate field with sharp limits and many tradeoffs depending on technique.

Our trained and skilled workers would make more sense if you wish to learn of the methods of the Diamond Dog, this is acceptable.

On the review of our own plans we regret to inform you that we will continue to develop our own factories and goods, and thus we retract this part of the deal.

Your worry that we expect to much from magic is understandable, but unnecessary. I only require the knowledge and power to deal with one individual and change their beliefs to better suit my views. If this is able to be done then do we have a deal?

If this revised deal is of interest then do we have a deal?

Your revisions are acceptable, though we still offer industrial development if your are interested.

We have a deal, but the price will be high. Such an operation requires constant monitoring and requires strong application of magic at certain times. In order to keep things running smoothly, make sure our agents are well fed, any delay or mistiming of a spell can cause regression, and the longer such spells continue the greater the risk to mental stability.

War!

The collapse of Nova Griffonia's western regions into the bandit state of Virgilia was paid little attention in Vesalipolis, with all of its attention focused on integrating and developing the Polar Bear regions. Perhaps unsurprisingly, bandits have been the opportunity to conduct raids on the distant and now barely governed eastern Polar Bear lands. Previously limited to insignificant break ins and thefts, the uneasy situation has come to a boiling point after a particularly vicious raid has lead to the deaths of multiple Changelings and Polar Bears, and worse, delays in infrastructure construction. Queen Chrysalis has publicly decried the attacks and promised retribution, and privately is eager to leverage Polar Bear anger to gain their loyalty, while generals are interested in giving the Polar Bear artillery forces a trial by combat.

Empty Throne
Queen Chrysalis has shocked the public by announcing plans to travel beyond the nation's borders for an extended period. While not idle in any sense, the Queen is often seen traveling from Hive to Hive to oversee governance and ensure efficiency, she hasn't officially left the Changeling Lands since before the Unification Wars, and never since the Unification itself. Her announcement is made all the more unusual with its timing being just after the declaration of war against Virgilia, when strong leadership is expected more than ever. Speculation is rampant as to the purpose of her travels, with some seeing a link to Lysander's latest Griffonian expedition, this time on an Easterly route, with his fleets ships noted to be overloaded with additional crew of unclear purpose. Others speculate the Queen simply wants to see how her government performs without intervention.

4.04m Error
The purpose of the New Model Harmonization Plan was first and foremost to deal with the integration of the Polar Bears, as well as establish a framework for any future lands coming into Changeling dominion, and as such was a broad piece of legislation, applying to all Lands under the crown. Naturally, this included the 'Non-Changeling Natives', as they are called, which have long been an unanswered question for the Hives. The Changelings having long since dominated the Changeling Lands, the scattered tribes have been given little attention save for the occasional culling to prevent technological development or organized resistance. Over time, interactions between the tribes and hive dwindled, and by the Unification Wars the tribes were seen as little more than emergency rations for when an army was forced to forage for food due to logistical issues. The Unification changed little, each hive has made their own stance on Native treatment, be it additional livestock, free range food, forced labor, or even limited trade relations. The New Model Harmonization Plan changed that, giving the Natives the same rights, privileges, and demands as the Polar Bears and future groups.

The bureaucratic apparatus was prepared for the difficulty of reaching the Natives, realizing that in sharp contrast to the extreme density of the Hives with over 80% urbanization, the Native population centers were likely widely distributed, requiring legions of surveyors, police, and other officials to make contact with and record. To their surprise, it worked, surpassing expectations and cataloguing the expected ~150,000 within a few days. It was less prepared for the unexpected ~150,000 a few days later, or the next a few days after that, or after that, or after that, and more. The gears of bureaucracy strained and whined, but after allocating more resources and personnel, the registrations are finally tapering off, with an estimated 4.2 million native ponies, deer, polar bears, and more having been accounted for, well over the entire population of the Polar Bear Lands that the original program was meant to handle.

Expecting to be taking the first step in developing the Polar Bear Communities, the Changeling Lands now face a development problem of their own.

The Masters of Barrad are indeed intrigued by your offer, and we see little reason not to share our wondrous discoveries with you. In exchange all we shall ask for is a supply of modern weapons and equipment so to better arm our forces. Some instructors sent along with these weapons would also be greatly appreciated, to teach our army the ways of modern warfare.

While our ancestors may have used better techniques, today we feel that such methods are both underhanded and unnecessary. We do not infiltrate, we do not deceive. All we do is ask. Thousands of Changelings and Farbrookian ponies meet every day, so that our people can remain fed, and they in turn receive our friendship and company. While your offer of aid is appreciated, it is not needed.

As for further ties, we welcome them, but I must warn you that we will not accept any form of military presence within Greneclyf, or within the port you will be allowed to construct. While it is certain that certain members of the RTC will be angered by both our moves, they will not shut themselves out of our markets for a single perceived insult. In the end, when Greneclyf joins the River Coalition, they will be glad for our foresight.

They willingly offer themselves to be fed on? Have you developed a painless method of feeding, or are you paying them to endure it? Doesn't this leave you vulnerable to blockade or embargo?

Regardless, we have no need of military forces in Greneclyf, and will get started on port construction as soon as possible.

I, Queen White Star, welcome you newcomers to the lands of the Riverponies. I have heard much of the rumored advances of the west, and as such would primarily like to have this new technology for both industry and the modern armies that come with that. I hear rumors that you have made great strides in the new weapon of "tanks", and as such I would like for you to advise both the new Wittenburgh Armor Artificer Group with their projects, as well as training our officers in your new "Mobile Warfare" doctrine. But still, the modernization of my Country is my primary concern for now.
