It is Spring, of the Year 1007 ALB

Notable Events:

The Friendship Games!

The annual sports tournament organized by the Equestrian government is underway. Established to promote friendship and cooperation both within and without the participating nations, each city within the nations assemble a team to represent their hometown in the athletic pursuits of the Games, in the hopes of winning unending glory and fame for both themselves and their city. This year's competition is to take place within The Crystal City at the heart of the Crystal Empire for the second time since it's historic reappearance.

In a surprising move, the Kingdom of Olenia and Kingdom of Yakyakistan decline their invitations to the game for the first time in history, citing volatile elements at home making participation this year impossible. The self-proclaimed republic of Stalliongrad was not invited, still seen by many as a mere break-away Equestrian province, despite the attempts of the Equestrian Diarchy to allow their admittance. Another historic moment for the Games is the inclusion of a separate set of teams under the flag of New Mareland, coming all the way across the Celestial Sea to represent their cities and towns. There have been minor grumbling about "Equestrian deck-stacking" by critics. The Head of the Equestrian Games Commission in turn has released a public announcement that no such "attempt was ever made", and that the New Mareland teams would be competing against the motherland teams as they would any other national team.

The sporting events will carry on until the beginning of the Summer Season.

Imperial Tour announced

In a surprise announcement from the Imperial Palace within Griffenheim, the aging Emperor Grover the Fifth plans to tour the Griffonian Empire, travelling via the extensive rail network laid down by his predecessors to speak with all his subjects, both high and low. Ascending to the throne as a young griff in the year 978 ALB, Emperor Grover almost lost his life in the ensuing chaos that gripped Griffenheim during the Griffonian Revolution, had it not been for the quick thinking of His Holiness, the Borealian Archon Eros the Seventh. While the Empire has remained stable under his rule, many say it has not prospered, and as his age increases, so does the worry of many regarding the future of the Empire. His Imperial Majesty only has one living son, Crown Prince Grover, who as of today is an infant at four years of age, and as such not yet fit to ascend to the Imperial Throne, were his father to pass away.

For now at least, the chance of His Imperial Majesty dying appear slim, despite his advanced age. His subjects clamor at the opportunity to meet him in person.

Socialist Republic of Stalliongrad-1007 (12 AR)
Name: Socialist Republic of Stalliongrad
Form of Government: Socialist Republic
Capital: Stalliongrad
Ruler: Altidiya Revoltsova
Ideology: Communism
Religion: Secular
Race: Ponies (All Races)
Population: 8.52 Million
National Spirits:
Food Shortages: Rapid and unprepared collectivization attempts, followed by a lack of trade and several harsh winters, has severely depleted the nation's food supplies. Stalliongrad is facing outright starvation soon if the situation does not change.
Incomplete Industrialization: The nation still suffers from the effects of previous industrialization attempts, and some areas find themselves without electricity, even in this day and age.
Armed Forces: 3 Armies, 1 Navy
Cap: 3/1

Actions:
1. The construction of the People's Palace, both the planned administrative center of our republic and a monument to our triumph over the feudal system, must begin at once. It is an act all in the party can agree on, unlike some others...
2. The Orthodox Socialist faction of the Party has managed to force the Politburo to accept the need to relocate several industrial centers to more efficient locations. While the Revolutionary faction feels this is nothing but make-work, Vasily Pentsushenko maintains it is essential for the growth of Communism.
3. The ruling Revolutionary Faction has pushed through a plan for new tank factories in Salliongrad. While the Orthodox object that infrastructure upgrades are essential, the Revolutionaries retort that Socialism must be defended.
4. Seeing the Politburo descend into factionalism that Steel Stallion warned the Party about before his demise has driven moderate members of both parties to meet to discuss a potential compromise platform that could integrate aspects of both groups to sustain the party. A young Orthodox colt by the name of Serov has become a key part of these negotiations...

Name: Diamond Mountain
Capital: Diamond Mountain
Ruler: King Rover Diamondshield
Ideology: Fascist
Race: Diamond Dog
Faction: River Coalition
Population: 3.82 Million
2 Armies/2 Maximum

To say King Rover Diamondshield had problems in his country was a understatement, the first of his problems was that his people are poor and uneducated, and he knew who to blame for that, Damn Griffions stealing what is rightfully his. The Second issue was the threat of the slaves revolting, apparently some of the ones that can read found a weird book and now they are clamouring for "revolution" and "Freedom for the People" King Rover would have to deal with that. and the last issue is that his people have not fully embraced the industrial movement, King Rover knew that his people are already further behind then other nations in other matters, the diamond dogs do not need another thing to be behind the rest of the world at. King Rover sighed and thought to himself "damn you father, you have left me a kingdom on the verge of collapsing" as his thoughts of anger at his father passed. King Rover began to think of his Daughter, and while she is smarter then him, she does not have what it takes to rule the kingdom as it is now. as the thoughts of his Daughter trying to rule crossed his mind, King Rover Diamondshield said out loud to himself "just another reason to fix things" after that he made his way to the council to suggest ways that the kingdom will survive for the next few months.

Four Actions:
1. Begin to evaluate the political situation within the mountain home
2. Start construction on a Public School system for Diamond Mountain
3. Create a sort of Slave Caste system, which certain slaves have more freedom then others and are given to the nobility as more like unpaid servants then labor workers.
4. send a representative to Bakara to discuss a means of reducing the Poverty of Diamond Mountain and in return Diamond Mountain will send actual workers to help with any project that Bakara requests

(OOC: is this good?
Edit: Thanks for Suggestion LurkingNorth)

CRACKED PRISM
Telling someone the Crystal Empire's political divisions were massive would be an "obvious understatement", one of the few things that could be agreed on by many of the empire's subjects. The causes of the Empire's problems varied, but the largest of them to a sizable minority was Equestrian dominance.

Despite, or possibly due to the much weaker industrial state of the Empire, several Equestrian companies began to set up shop in the Crystal Empire. Now, they have an effective monopoly in the region, much to the irritation of local businessmen and companies within the Empire's borders. Naturally, the factories share similar conditions to their Equestrian counterparts, garnering the ire of the workers.

Several Equestrians even hold high places in government, which manages to unite some complaints of the workers and the aristocracy, if for different reasons. The lower classes claim that the Equestrian officials are biased towards their own people, and the aristocracy believe that they should be in those posts.

The final, yet most stabbing issue to several is that their queen herself is an equestrian.

The Empire, originally an independent state set up to be free from Equestria is, in the words of many political figures on all sides of the line, a puppet state in all but name.

Though a majority are tolerant of the current regime, several far left, far right, and even a few harmonious elements are anti-equestrian, though the scope of how anti equestrian they are varies.

The communists call for a society akin to Stalliongrad's own, free of the shackles of Equestria, and free of the monarchy. However they are divided similar to Stalliongrad's own factionalism, and talks between differing communist cells tend to end in angry ideological discussions.

The Harmonists are divided. Though a large majority remain tolerant of the regime, others call for a constitutional monarchy, using the absolutionism of Sombra's past regime as an example of why the monarchy should not have such power.

A thin fringe movement even call for a transition to a full democracy, but this movement is largely looked on with derision and outside of a few student leaders, has little traction.

Finally are the far right elements. Monarchists loyal to an older crown and newer elements taking pages from Beakaloni's fascist writings, their loyalty lies to a strongman. Sombra, the old ruler of the Crystal Empire and one of, if not the most powerful unicorns on the planet, is not yet gone from their memory. Taught of in storybooks and historical archives, Sombra was a king who led his people to greatness.

He also murdered his opposition, enslaved thousands, and made those who still resisted wish they could die, but his supporters claim those were needed excesses in such primitive times, and note that his staunch anti-Equestrian policies kept the Empire from becoming what it currently is today.

However, much to the embarrassment of the Captain of the Guard, Sombra Supporters are even in the capital. Hidden cloaked monarchists whisper of plans to bring back their glorious leader, while fascists march in the streets, protesting and occasionally getting into street skirmishes with communists.

Yet, despite all of the Crystal Empire's boiling tensions and problems, they're preparing to host the Friendship Games and hopefully show their best side to the world. Security has been doubled, and the Games are receiving a huge amount of funds to make sure they're as lavish as can be.

Hopefully all goes well.

(I'll put up a number sheet and actions in next post.)

Equestria

.
While beset by recent setbacks and the threat of war with the Changelings, Equestria remains the greatest nation on the planet, by the grace of her Princesses and the Friendship of Harmony.
Ponies for Mareland: Too long has our government neglected its own ponies. Immediately send financial and material assistance to Mareland to help pull them out of economic turmoil and begin investing in Mareland businesses to get their economy moving.

To the Changeling Lands: @Cloak&Dagger

Equestria desires to normalize relations with the Changelings. We believe and hope that peaceful co-existence is possible.

1007 ALB In the New mareland parliament

Governor-general Jet set sighed quietly to himself, unheard by the parliament as they screamed at each other. He was hoping that today the Parliament could start work on a national census. To see where exactly the government should direct its efforts in economic recovery. But then the message from Equestria arrived saying that they will Immediately assist new mareland in pulling its self out of this depression. Which has...set off certain members of parliament against what they see as an insult or another notch against the Equestrian way of doing things.

"-They're starting to send in supplies and advisors and the like to help us! and you want to take a referendum now? right when they're starting to help us?"
Snow berry asked Kingfisher. But before Kingfisher could retort Duke haygle said " Its a decade too late" Which got stamps and agreement throughout parliament. " Far, far too late for those Equestrians to walk back in here like they have done nothing wrong! I second the motion for a referendum! let the people of New mareland decide on wether we want to stay an equestrian puppet or we will be free from their perfidious influence!"

"You say that like we aren't Equestrians.." said Snow berry. and voice shouted "Because we ain't!" which was met with stamping and cheers, which stoped when Jet set banged the gravel with perhaps more force then necessary. " in the interest in still having a day left to discuss on how exactly we are going to bring New mareland out of economic ruin, the motion for the government to organize a referendum is passed. Now if we could-"

ACTIONS
1. Orginise a referendum on the question of New mareland's independence from Equestria
2. Take a national census
3. Expand the new manhaten harbor
4. Pass the Industrial support fund

To:Their majesty's Princes Celstia and Luna

Your Economic aid is appreciated and helpful and reassurance of the friendship of New mareland and Equestria is also appreciated, though i fear it may be a bit late.

1: The government is going to attempt to get the Crystal Empire's industrial capacity up to par, through a slow yet methodical emulation of their neighbors. After deciding just whose economic model to follow, they'll continue from there.

2: The government is going to get to hosting the Friendship Games! Surely nothing can go wrong or embarrass or humiliate us at this current timeframe.

3: Artic Lilly and the RCW are going to attempt to embarrass or humiliate the government at this current timeframe. Far left protests and workers, unite!

4: Radiant Hope and the NSP are going to attempt to embarrass or humiliate the government at this current time frame. Far right protests and separate monarchists, unite!

(
Do let me know if I'm doing this wrong.)

That you would demand land that the ponies of Equestria have lived on for centuries, makes clear your imperialistic ambitions. These lands are never been disputed until you made these... claims. We will not give up our ancestral lands to sate desires of conquest, but hope that some other accord can be reached.

I hope that the people of New mareland decide to stay with Equestria but their is a part of the population believes that Equestria and you have abandoned them. Myself and others know that all the monsters, invasions, and villains have kept you busy. But people feel like that shouldn't have stopped you or the rest of the government from helping us. I hope that they will see sense and decide to stay. But regardless of their choice it is my duty as Governor-General to lead them to the best of my ability.

Griffon Liberation Army (Socialist Republic of Prywhen)
Capital: White Rose
Ruler: Comrade-General Filip Redglad
Ideology: Communist
Race: Griffon
Faction: None
Population: 1.58 Million
Army: 2/2
Navy: 0/0

Prywhen is in tatters. Even before the famine the kingdom of Brodfeld is not a prosperous nation, and the famine only makes it worse. The callous King Kloseau instead of actually trying to solve the many problems of the kingdom instead embarks into a wasteful campaign to crack down the communist. This part of Griffonia isn't exactly the jewel of civilization, with serfdoms dominating the population under monarchy and ignorance. At every other occasion the peasants of Brodfeld would've cowed, but not today. Inspired by the rise of Stalliongrad in the far away land of Equestria the peasants of Prywhen took their arms against the monarchy and declares a socialist republic in the countryside, while the reactionaries maintains a grip on the urban areas.

Now two years have passed. The fighting stagnated into a brutal stalemate bleeding both sides dry. The sorely under equipped revolutionaries stands off against the battered royal army. In a grim irony, the reduction of population might be the only the only thing preventing hunger from completely annihilating both side, but if the war goes on it might be the end for everyone.

The communists, under the Rev-Mil council, are determined to end the war quickly. Organizing deep inside the frontier, near the border between Blackrock and Lushi, the council held their first congress since the revolution. The biggest problems the revolution faced are obvious, and quickly directives are issued to the public:
  1. On the subject of food: The agricultural heartland of Prywhen is still under the kingdom's control, and even then the blight would still greatly hampers food production. Alternative crops such as potatoes as a replacement staple food. Such foods are unpopular with the Griffons but with the famine raging one nobody would have the stomach to complain. Another step to curb the famine is to establish a formal rationing system and a crackdown on hoarding. Food would be prioritized for the soldiers fighting in the front, and any hoarder would be quickly executed as enemy of the revolution.
  2. On the subject of armaments: Our stock of captured royal muskets and cannons are depleting as we continue to fight, and the shortage of metals have prevented us from expanding our military industry. The council have found a temporary measure however. By scrapping all nonessential metal objects we can supply our gunsmiths with enough material increase their output. From those opulent royal statues to cutleries while be melted down into guns and bullets for our troops.
  3. An appeal to our neighbors: Even though they're not communists by any form, Lushi, Gryphus, and Kaiv are home to many revolutionaries of their own. By inviting them to help finish our struggle, we will in return pledged to eventually helps them bring communism to their homelands, once we sorts out our own problems.
  4. Strike the royalists: Although our enemy lacks the ability to launch a major offensive, neither do us. Instead we must look into alternative forms of warfare to break the stalemate.
Nation: Kingdom of Brodfeld
Allies: -
Combined Forces: Units from the two armies stationed on the front.
Plan:
Insurgency - First Phase
Over the course of three months we will build a network of rat lines leading deep into enemy territory. From the remote woods and rural areas we will sent infiltrators to create a series of secret tunnels and paths to ferry troops and supplies, where they will sets up hidden bases from which our troops will operate.

From there our troops will contacts local communists and sympathizers, where they will forms underground partisans providing us with intelligence and preparing themselves for future operations. Our troops must remain low and avoid notice from the enemy, with semi-regular communication by runners and flyers maintained until further notice.

Meanwhile once a month our other troops will mount raids in the hotspots of the front to diverts the enemy's attention from our partisans.

Diplomacy:
An appeal to Stalliongard (@Ceslas): An inspiration to all of us, Stalliongrad's advanced industry and technologies put our shoddy blacksmiths and flintlocks into shame. By sending delegates into Equestria at haste we will ask our pony brothers to provide us with technologies, especially weapons and agricultural tools, along with advisors to turn our militia into a proper red army.

edit: moved diplomacy action on its own.

Country stability is greatly reduced. Revolutionaries all but control the countryside, urging the common people and the peasants to further and further revolts. If the situation is not dealt with one way or another, the country could spiral into civil war.

Major Actions
A tyrant still reigns in Aquila. This. Can. Not. Be. Allowed. To. Stand.
With a solid base of support in the countryside we are now ready to start recruiting supporters in the cities of Aqueileia. These engines of wealth will be able to ensure a steadyy stream of weapons and supplies for the revolution so it is crucial that we gain their support. Begin distributing revolutionary propaganda among the lower classes. Remind them of the prosperity brought forth by the first republic and turn them against the decadent nobility. Together we will save our homeland!
Much as we may wish it were not so our problems will not end when the Discrets are dead. They have spent years desecrating our country and despite our best efforts it is likely that our revolution will exacerbate issues in the short term. In order to prepare for this we need to establish a government that can unite the revolutionaries and ensure a smooth transition of power when the time is right. The FJA will enter into a coalition with the PAT and create the Provisional, Government of Aqueileia. Led by revolutionary legend Théodore Vérany the provisional government is tasked with leading the revolutionary cause, attracting foreign support and preparing for the reestablishment of the Republic.
Though tasked with protecting the Monarch the King's Guard is not nearly as loyal to the Royal cause as many would believe. Serving at the behest of the tyrant they have front seats to his daily brutality and many of their members have started to doubt the legitimacy of his reign. We shall contact these individuals and sway them to our cause. When the time is right they shall seize the King and prevent a second counter-revolution.
Though we already enjoy wide support in the rural parts of Aqueileia we could always use more Griffons for the cause. Continue recruiting supporters in the countryside. Pay special attention to the vassal fiefdoms. Their independent military forces will likely present a significant threat once the revolution starts. To counteract this we shall try to recruit as many of their soldiers as we can.

Name: Kingdom of Pingland
Form of Government: Non-Aligned Kingdom
Capital: Dachaigh
Ruler: King Lolo
Ideology: Non-Aligned
Race: Penguins
Population: 2.76 Million

Pre-Industrial Society: While railways and steam engines are becoming more widespread, this nation has not yet fully industrialized.

Penguin Isolationism: After the many humiliating defeats in the past against the Griffon colonists, the remaining penguins have wished for nothing more than to crawl back into their homes in the north and let the world pass them by.

Armed Forces:2 Armies, 1 Navy
Cap: 2/1

Actions:
1. King Lolo announces a major project to overhaul the kingdom's infrastructure. The first successful trial run of a locomotive steam engine had caused a sensation for railroads and steam power in Dachaigh and the king wishes to expand on this with the construction of new rail lines and improving canals and harbours using dredging ships around major population centres.

(Takes the focus "Infrastructure")

2. A factory, the first of its kind in Pingland, is to be established in Dachaigh. It is jointly funded by both private investors and the crown, and is intended to be trial run in how factories are built. Foreign expertise is wanted and the government is offering up to a third of the factory's total shares to whomever takes the offer. It is expected to produce building materials once finished.

3. Strute Persson is appointed to the head of the newly established Ministry of Infrastructure and Economic Development to oversee both projects. It is hoped that his experience as a factor-master in a foreign trading post and in constructing workshop will be put to good use.

He is in fact credited in creating the first limited-liability company in Pingland, a concept that is now also being applied to the projects he is overseeing.

4. The Royal Pinglish Army is holding a competition for a repeating rifle to replace the venerable but aging Ardballa Infantry Musket Model 571. Among the requirements are that it must be suited for arctic climates and hold at least a 5 bullet clip.

Jet-set sat in front of the fire, trying to read the newest issue of Daring doo but he couldn't focus on it and he sighed as he rubbed his eyes. "Are you alright dear?" said his wife-Upper crust- as she walked into the room. "You don't look so good" Jet set smiled at her as he put down the book. "I could be better" he said "This referendum concerns me. Ponies want independence from the rest of Equestria, because they feel hurt and abandoned. But i don't think they realize how vulnerable we are." Upper crust warped a hoof around Jet sets neck "Dear, that fool Beakolini wont march on Karthin, and if he does the king will stop him." and jet set said "I'm uncertain the king can even afford to stop him, and if he dosen't..." he shook his head "Perhaps we should listen to the radio?" he suggested. Upper crust smiled and nodded. and they turned on the radio.

"-and so we must chose Independence! to be free of the imperialist and capitalists of Equestria! Onward to-"

Upper crust hurriedly switched channels.

"-we cannot trust those Equestrians! but you can trust me! Help me make New mareland-"

She switched through a couple more. All of them talking about the referendum. "Perhaps we should do something else? how about...ummm" Jet set chuckled "Why don't we see if Sweet pie can cook a quick snack for us and go out side?" Upper crust smiled and nodded and they left the room, trying to leave worries about the future behind them.

"So the ponies are voting to be independent or not from the Equestrians from across the sea?" Asked a gray furred griffon. His beak chipped somewhat, he looked weathered but his yellow eyes were clear and sharp.

"Yes Grandfather" said his Granddaughter said "heh" he chuckled, before coughing. After a few seconds pounding his chest and waving off his granddaughter he said."Foolish of 'em. They won't last long without those princess of theirs." His granddaughter stared at him, worried "You think their will be war Grandfather?"

he nodded "Yup! especially if that beakolmeni or duce of whatever in Boreas's name hes called wins. Won't matter too much to us anyways, might even be good for us." his granddaughter look worried "what will we do then Grandfather?" He looked grim "Stay in our homes and hope that it doesn't happen but prepare for the possibility" His granddaughter fiddled with her claws while looking outside and said "What if the ponies come to make us fight?"

He garbed her claw with his own "They wont get a single one of us. Now come on, enough questions its time for you to sleep." She nodded and they went to their rooms. Trying to leave worries of the future behind them.

The games were slowly, but surely coming together, Shining Armor mused as he was again informed of the exact route he and his wife would take.

"Just follow the red carpet, quick photo op with the princesses and your sister, up to the balcony. Simple!"

The precise amount of guards was worrying, of course. A massive security cordon to prevent assassination of all things from happening. And yet, the captain of the guard reassured him that it was likely not going to happen.

"Largely just a show of force. Even if some lunatic got to your balcony, they'd probably get defeated by the princesses the second they got there. Not to mention the 'Mane Six', your wife, and you yourself. Guards'll be here keeping you and the nobles safe while the audience cheers and claps."

Simple. Calming. Least, it was supposed to be. Yet, here he was wondering if he needed to cast any barrier related spells to keep the balcony locked down.

————————————————————

Red Peyote was not a fan of tea parties. Both the regular kind that sympathetic aristocrats invited the brown suited marchers in the streets, and the 'secret gatherings' of the monarchists working with them. Wearing their masks, doing occult rituals in the name of their king, speaking in hushed tones while he and his men marched openly...

Of course, Radiant Hope didn't care about his complaints about having to drink tea and listen to councils of masked lunatics talking about plans within plans revolving around other people's plans.

In fact, he wasn't even sure what she was. Could be one of the masked people drinking tea while he and Dust Snowfall just sat there, drinking and waiting for the conversation to finally concern them and the other brownsuits there.

Finally, it did. A pony wearing the mask of a crow turned his head, and spoke.

"Radiant Hope has need of your commandos."

————————————————————-

"But surely-"

"Inviting Stalliongrad's assistance tempts them to take Equestria's place. We would be trading one overlord for another. If we wish to be seen as partners in the revolutionary struggle, we cannot beg them for aid."

"But they wouldn't-"

"They would-"

"Can all of you shut-"

"Who invited you to this discuss-"

This debate over foreign policy continued within the RCW headquarters for the rest of the evening.

Changeling Lands - Spring 1007 (12 AR)

State: Changeling Lands
Government: Absolute Monarchy
Capital: Vesalipolis
Ruler: Queen Chrysalis
Ideology: Queen's Leadership (Fascist)
Religion: Secular
Race: Changelings
Population: 36.92 Million
National Spirits: Hidden from Outsiders
Armed Forces: 7 Armies, 2 Navies
Cap: 7/2

Actions:
1. An ultimatum is sent to the Polar Bear Communities demanding their submission to Changeling leadership, citing their incompetent governance and resulting poverty. 3 Changeling armies mass on their border while 2 navies lurk off their coast, in expectation of a refusal.
2. Industrial expansion in the Chunchi area, including improved lumber production and new civilian factories. (Chunchi Lumber Industry Focus)
3. Industrial expansion in the Key Lake area, including improved steel production and new military factories, specifically an artillery foundry and ammunition plant. (Key Lake Steel Production Focus)
4. Research begins to develop more effective magic-powered engines, in an effort to reduce oil demands and hopefully prove a gateway to other technological developments.
5. SECRET

Minor Actions:
1. Expertise for Pingland's factory construction is offered, along with any necessary loans, though the promised 1/3rd ownership share is expected.
2. The Karabiner 98k is submitted to Pingland's rifle competition for consideration.

Diplomatic Actions:
1. Representatives to the Griffon Empire inquire as to the possibility of expanding relations between the Changelings and Griffons, suggesting joint aircraft development, espionage sharing, and preferential trade deals as potential avenues for cooperation.
2. The Jaki-Clan receives an envoy, who explains that after the Changelings fought so hard to unite, it's unfortunate to see other races remain separated, and wants to know if there's anything that the Changelings can do to help the rightful leaders of their race.
3. Former infiltrators, now on a mission from Chrysalis herself, are forced to use their old skills to reach the Buffalo Chiefdom, surrounded on all sides by Equestria. They explain that both the Buffalo and Changelings share a common enemy in Equestria, and that the Changelings too have been shunned by the Equestrian ponies just as the Buffalo have. If the Buffalo are willing to accept, the Changelings can offer the Buffalo the means to defend themselves and industrialize to prevent continuing Equestrian oppression.
4. Diplomats sent to Pingland express their joy at seeing Pingland's new industrial plans, and present the Changeling offers for their factory and rifle developments. They hope that acceptance of the offers could lead to deeper relations between the Changelings and Penguins in the future. (@Hallesworth49)
5. Stalliongrad is approached by Changeling Diplomats who explain that the two nations share a common rival in Equestria, and that Equestria is a military, economic, and political threat to both. Perhaps the Changeling Lands and Stalliongrad could cooperate, becoming safer and having a stronger economy, together? (@Ceslas)

Imperial Communique to the Queen of Changelings

His Imperial Majesty is both surprised and gladdened by your offer, and is most interested in expanding the military mission of the Changelings to include aircraft development aswell. Further trade between our great nations is also an excellent proposal, and His Imperial Majesty will discuss the rest of your offer upon his return to Griffenheim with your diplomats.

The Jaki-Clan receives an envoy, who explains that after the Changelings fought so hard to unite, it's unfortunate to see other races remain separated, and wants to know if there's anything that the Changelings can do to help the rightful leaders of their race.

While Prince Bradford seems interested by the offers presented by the Changelings, he is by heart a traditionalist. While he may accept Changeling aid, they should not expect any help from him. He will close the gates of Yakyakistan and return the Kingdom to it's natural state once he triumphs over his brother.

Former infiltrators, now on a mission from Chrysalis herself, are forced to use their old skills to reach the Buffalo Chiefdom, surrounded on all sides by Equestria. If the Buffalo are willing to accept, the Changelings can offer the Buffalo the means to defend themselves and industrialize to prevent continuing Equestrian oppression.

The trek was difficult, as the Chiefdom is separated from the rest of the world by miles of desert and savannas. When the infiltrators arrived however another snag was hit, in the form of the Buffalo Chieftain Thunderhooves, who refused their audience request. While the current chief seems more interested in cooperating with the Equestrians, the Changelings may have found other opportunities...

Its a boat! Its a plane! Its a... tank?

Sitting in an unused airship hangar not far from the shipyards of Ditrysium, the new panzer prepares for trials.

A strange assortment of journalists, military police, spectators gathered on the beaches today to watch demonstrations of the new vehicle built by famous airship engineer Elytron. Rumors have abounded about the designer's activities in the past years, as competition with propeller aircraft has driven out the expensive, love-guzzling conventional airships from both civilian and military sectors, leaving the age of the airship seemingly at an end. Elyton's announcement of a revolutionary new design generated quite the buzz in the aeronautical community, and excitement was high when a test date was announced.

Its appearance shattered all expectations. While many expected a new form of airship, or perhaps some sort of hybrid with a plane, the craft shown bared more resemblance with a panzer. Covered all around in a layer of sloping armor, with a slight top bulge capped by a turret, and with two glaring openings on top for some sort of propulsion system, and with a seemingly flat bottom, the purpose of the vehicle was unclear. While details on its construction remain unclear, Elyton explained the craft was an 'Amphibious Cruiser' and that he had 'essentially mated an airship's lifter with an engine for maneuverability and built a tank around it.'

Despite high hopes, the trials seemed to go disappointingly for the unusual machine. While it floated just above the ground through a hastily arranged obstacle course without difficulty, albeit at a blisteringly slow pace and maneuvering like a drained pegasus, later tests went worse. The 'flight' test ended at just a few meters when wind picked up and the craft began to rock violently side to side from the force, causing it to abort. The 'sea' test fared little better when a similar issue caused it to take on water, weighting it down and forcing all magic to be diverted from propulsion to lift, requiring a tow back to shore. No marksmanship test was forthcoming, as the immobile turret was 'just a placeholder', and efforts to drain the water revealed the 'armor' was little more than sheet metal.

While crowds were unimpressed, Elyton said that he was satisfied as he had "proven it could be done." In a surprise visit on his way to port, Admiral Lysander noted it was 'interesting, but needs research' and warned that "Funding something like this would be a nightmare. Would it be army, navy, or airforce? Do we need to invite the Griffons?"

"You dare call us parasites? The Changelings who have practiced communal living and production since before Communism was even a glimmer of thought in a dirt-farming peasant's head?

I am to believe that the Changelings, who sacrifice everything for their own, who work unceasingly for the greater benefit of their homes, are parasites?

This, according to the state which cannot feed itself, cannot supply itself, which wastes resources on lavish palaces and egotistic monuments while its citizens starve?

No. I have seen parasites before. I have seen hives where drones line the halls, dead from lack of love; hives where engineers design statues for the throne room as the outer walls crumble in disrepair.; hives so desperate they are forced to raid others just to survive. I have seen them, and I have put them out of their misery.

Do not think yourselves superior, ponies. Stalliongrad is nothing more than another mismanaged, incompetent, failing hive for me to tear down and rebuild. "

Of course, the Yaks are free to chose their destiny, the Changelings wish only peace and unity for our neighbors. Until then, our support is behind the Jaki-Clan.

A leader seeking friendship with the state which oppresses and occupies them is called surrender. Surely another would be better suited for the position...

We will not waste words with an exploiter of the workers. You wish to consume them. We will liberate them.

Kingdom of Wittenland

Capital: Wittenburgh

Ruler: Queen White Star

Ideology: Non-Aligned

Race: Pony

Faction: River Coalition

Population: 4.79 Million

Army: 2/2

Navy: 0/0

Actions
1) PARTY ACTION: THE (Many) MASQUERADE BALLS
Some of the first parties after the fall of Coltstream were Masquerade balls, the style having been invented to hide the shame of such a loss. This soon gave way to simple mystique and extravagant luxury. However traditions can get stale, so new gimicks have to be had to keep the noblity's interest. Chocolate islands, ponds of wine, the most extravegant masks one has ever seen. Point is, they're ludicrously expensive, decadent, and popular. Very good for the nobility, not so good for the serfs.
2)The time has come for us to recognize that we are in a changing world. A bright new future awaits us, if only we adapt to the new era of magitech and industry. To conquer lost holdings and vanquish old foes. Or else Wittenland shall fall....
3) We assure the rest of the River Coalition that we focus on External threats above all else, and to make this clear we move troops away from the border of other Coalition states to the threats to the south and west. This will undoubtedly ease tensions that would rise if Wittenland began arming for conflict. Diplomats will also work in tandem to ensure the other coalition members understand that we only wish to fight against these dangerous threats.
4)Queen White star recognizes the Changing times, and with new ideas come new ways to wage war. As such, she has ordered capable ponies to review the Wittenland military to find out how to adjust the military for the coming times. The Wittenland Military Review Commission will surely find a solution to a modern fighting machine.

Minor action:
A new book: With the reforms of White Star has come a rise in literacy in the non-noble population. Books that can cater to lesser interests are now being made and sold in the Kingdom, and new ideas rise in prominence. This has lead to quite a few interesting books, one of those that are currently in-season is one Titled "Wittenland's Struggle", a semi-historical work on the history of the kingdom and how events in the past has lead to the nation's decline. Portraying the idealized past of Wittenland before the loss of Coltstream, of a meritocratic state where only the capable rose to the top, as is right. Where there was no decadent nobility to waste money on ever more bizarre and degenerate parties. Where it was a mighty land of the great race of Unicorns, of powerful mages and more. Yet it is also a political work, advocating for a new vision of Wittenland routed in the old traditions of meritocracy, but not vulnerable to degeneracy of the nobility. Of a strong state run by the capable and mighty, something that can restore Wittenland and it's unicorns to another golden age. A force so powerful it can take back Coltstream once and for all. A nationalistic book one could say, penned by one "Arden Hoofler", it is rumored that already a "new" force in Wittenland is gathering around based on the ideas of the book.
