Engines of Desolation (Post-Apocalyptic Mobile City Quest)

I just realized. We have Zero infantry. If we get border, we're Hosed.

Can we spend our Metal this turn finally raising a unit of infantry to have some kind of internal defense?
 
We don't have enough metal to actually build anything, and we don't know anything about the area we aren't now in and wether it has resources we can use.

Question!

Instead of fighters or Bombers, Kyle we build a Scout group in our Hanger Bay? One that's Job is to automatically scout around the city for stuff, and also possibly spot enemy city engines before they arrive?

Scout Plane option will be added next turn.

Now that i think about it, we should have turned our metal into trade goods and exchanged those for a map at the town.
Or outright produced a military and attacked the town,

That was a possibility.

We have zero anything.

We have no units, no ammunition, little armor. If anything attacks us we're doomed.

You are pretty far North luckily. Few large mobiles cities ever go that far up. Heading South you'll bump into more and more of them.

Reasoning here is that we need infantry+ammo to fight but just light gun ammo would give us some ability to hurt someone. Building infantry could be a better bluff.
