Exabit
I sat beside her as she finally finished eating and was about to take the plates away when she asked a question.

"Why?"

"Yes?"

Why what? What was she asking?

"Why did you save me?" she was still looking down. Her bangs covering her eyes. I had managed to get her to eat a bit.

But she had a good Question. Why did I save her? Should I tell her the truth?

I considered it for a while and then decided on it. Telling the truth would be the best. This was a servant and a Caster at that. And as she was Medea the witch of betrayal I wouldn't be surprised if she had a way to detect lies.

So the truth it was.

I took a deep breath and straightened myself.

"Why did I save you? Honestly, there are three reasons. Firstly when I saw you Lancer was about to stab you, I could have turned around and run, but that would have left me easy pickings for lancer after he was done with you." Her shoulders slumped a little at that. "Second, I saw the future." her head lifted a bit at that. "The world will end if the Grail is allowed to be wished upon."

A sharp. "What!" rasped from her throat.

"In the third Grail war, the Einzberns family, tired of losing opted to break the rules and summoned an extra servant. Servant Avenger. Angra Mainyu The God of Evil."

I heard her breath hitch at that.

"Unfortunately while the Grail is incapable of summoning Deities it did summon Angra Mainyu. He is an abnormal Servant that is not part of the regular seven classes. While he was not the evil god of Zoroastrianism, after his defeat in the Third War he was absorbed into the Grail and corrupted it, should the Grail be allowed to manifest it will likely cause the Birth divine spirit Angra Mainyu... Should that happen the world and everything in it will likely be destroyed. "

She remained silent as if contemplating something.

"And thirdly, why shouldn't I have saved you? Do I need a reason to save someone in need?"

She looked up at me in surprise her bangs parting and her eyes visible to me for the very first time as I saw disbelief upon them.

I might not be Shirou and recklessly try to get into suicidal situations trying to save everyone, but I'd like to think I had morals. That I wouldn't ignore someone dying in front of me, but my life and the people I loved came first and others second.

I admired Shirou but I was not stupid nor was I going to throw myself into Danger as long as there was a safer way.

I could feel her purple eyes on me as if they were gazing into my soul. Her eyes were really pretty, not as pretty as Sakura's but they were pretty. Sakura's eyes and hair had a lighter shade of lavender than Medea.

She let out a snort dragging me out of my thoughts as I looked at her, I noticed that she looked much better. No longer as haggard as she was before.

"You're a foolish boy" a tiny smile formed on her lips as her eyes regained some life. "You're a Magus, yet I didn't sense a single lie when you spoke. And you say that you didn't need a reason to help others?" She raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure you're a Magus? I've seen the Magus of this Era you seem far different from them."

I assume she was talking about her previous master.

"Well, looks like you're feeling alright now, but suggest resting a bit longer."

"Boy, I'm a Servant. I don't need to rest especially as a Caster, I only need Mana to heal myself."

"Oh..." Right stupid, Servants are spiritual entities, not physical entities, of course, they don't need rest, however. "I was not talking about your physical health. Even if you are physically fine, mental exhaustion is still a thing."

She snorted again "Boy, I'm a servant, even my mental endurance is far, far greater than yours. Do I have to spell it out for you? I am offering you to make a contract with me."

I was perplexed at this. I was ready to offer something in exchange for her to be my ally, but I never expected her to ask me for a contract with her.

"Why me?"

"I may be able to use the ambient Mana and the leylines to keep myself in the world for a while, but I'm no Archer with a ridiculously high independent action rank. I need a contract to Anchor myself to the world, show me your hand Boya, I'm not going to last long!" she asked raising her hand waiting for me.

This was unexpected.

I shrugged mentally and offered my left arm. She took the back of my hand and placed a finger on it and it began to glow an eerie red for a few seconds before it slowly dimmed and Medea let go on my hand. What remained was...

"This is a command seal?" A single one. Then it vanished. "Huh?"

"Do you think it's a good idea to keep Command seals visible?" she answered my unasked question. "But that Aside." She stood up getting up from her fuuton. She gave a short bow. "Thank you for taking care of me," then looked straight at me. "As the Caster of this war, I shall be extending the protection of my magic if you shall accept this contract."

"I Emiya Kuro, accept this contract."

The single Command seal on the back of left hand glowed a bit as it acknowledged the pact and I began to feel my Prana being drained rapidly!

Right, I had to support caster now.

Engine, Start!

32 of my Magic circuits sprung to life and began converting Mana and od into Prana replacing what the caster was absorbing.

I suppose it would taper off later.

"Hmm, that's strange. I was sure you would have far more Prana than that considering what I felt when you faced Lancer."

Right, my lung nanites weren't producing Mana wasn't the moment, no wonder, made sense.

"Sempai, Dinner is ready!"

I heard Sakura call out from the Kitchen but as I was about to answer I felt a spike of pain from my right hand.

"Oh" was all could think as I saw a very familiar command seal form on my hand.

"Ohohohoho" Caster began to chuckle as I began to feel a bit of dread. "This is very interesting. A second seal hmm? Well, with me by your side, whoever is the other servant in this residence, and whoever you might be able to summon I think we have this war in the bag don't you think?"

Unfortunately, I only felt more dread as I stared at the new command seals that just formed on the back of my right hand.

This was type moon.

Things never go that smoothly in this universe.

I couldn't let my guard down.

"Senpai! Sensei is here!"

"KUROOO I'M HUNGRY!" The tiger of Fuyuki roared.

Oh, for fucks sake can I get a break.

"KUROO, WHAT'S THIS WOMAN DOING IN YOUR HOUSE? ARE YOU CHEATING, ON SAKURA?! HOW could you...." Taiga slammed the door open and her words died down as she saw Medea with me.

"Kuro! How could you?! I raised you better than this!" Taiga began to fake cry.

"More like you just came over to eat my cooking," I responded without any actual heat in my words, as I grinned.

"Master, should I erase this woman's memories?" Medea asked as she stepped forward beside me.

"MASTER?" Taiga screamed her eyes bulging out. "KUROOO!!! WHY IS THIS LADY CALLING YOU MASTER?"

Taiga was someone very dear to me. Nowhere close to Sakura but she was there for me when dad died and with her and Raiga's help I was able to stand on my own two feet.

So erasing her memories would bring a bad taste to my mouth.

I decided to ask Sakura about this if she agreed, I would tell her if not I would give Medea the go-ahead to remove her memories.

"Not now please, Medea, I'll have to discuss this with Sakura first whether to bring her into the fold or not."

Taiga's eyes became the size of dinner plates!

"Kuro? Are you making a Harem? Is Sakura the first wife? Is that why you have to ask her? SORRY KURO, SENSEI CAN'T JOIN YOUR HAREM EVEN IF SAKURA APPROVES!" She began to jump to conclusions again, completely misunderstanding the situation and making a big deal out of it.

Just as I feared.

"Are you sure I can't erase her memories, Master?" Even caster sounded a bit annoyed.

"Not yet Medea, as annoying as she is, she is still family. I'll have to ask Sakura first." I let out a tired sigh.

This was going to be a long night. I could feel it in my bones.

Is he not going to hook Madea in to a Mana generator?

Edit: Also when Madea contracted why didn't it come with a fresh set of seals? In canon she kept the ones she killed her old master for and used it to summon assassin. What changed?

I'm guessing it was because he was a mage and could provide mana through the contract. I think that the Teacher was a normal guy - magic-wise - and thus forming a contract via the seals would have been pointless. So she kept them and set up shop in the temple to start sucking up the layline magic that was under it.

Aye that makes sense...

Didn't they use the other method of Mana transference until she hooked herself up to the shrine?

Anyway I see your point, she didn't have to sleep with Kuro since he was a mage. Thus didn't keep the command seal. I still wonder about the mechanics since didn't the teacher have a fresh batch of command seals ? Why didn't this contract refresh it back to three? We have the example of Rin and Saber when the contract was reestablished Rin got three seals.

Kuzuki interlude (1 year ago)
Watching Kuro fight was a beautiful thing. It wasn't that the motions were appealing, no, the boy moved like a robot. His style was ugly, a bastard child of martial arts, but it did not detract from the boy's sheer skill. His body moved pricisely and without wasted movement nor wavering focus. Each swing of his fists was sublime, each twisting dodge was perfection itself. The boy turned the art of combat into a machined response, yet Kuzuki admired him for it. The boy had caught up to him, what had taken him decades, the boy had done it in a few years.

But what he had appreciated most was that the boy had had given him a chance. A chance to redeem himself from his past actions. A chance to fight to save the world.

It was honestly like a dream.

The boys strength and speed were far beyond human, and the only reason he was able to still keep teaching him was due to whatever magical enchantments the boy had weaved into his cloths, his boots and the fingerless glove that he gave. Magic, who knew such a thing was real?

He could now move at speeds that were utterly ridiculous. But it was not something he could have achieved on his own.

With a deep breath he broke through the boys defenses and landed a strike to his gut.

Honestly the only thing that still allowed him to beat Emiya was the fact that he had far more experience and that he was willing to end a life.

"You fell for the fient again Emiya, just because you see an opening doesn't always mean you should attack. It could be a trap."

The boy groaned as he lay on the floor. "I know, you probably told me a hundred times already by now!"

His lips twitched upwards. It was nice talking to someone who didn't fear him. The Matou girl was that came with him slowly helped him up as they began to leave.

"Sensei." He turned to Emiya who spoke up. "There's only 1 year left."

He nodded in understanding.

1 year left until the end of the world. Unless they stop it.

He looked forward to it.

Their Battle would be..... Legendary!

Omake idea.
What if Sakura and Kuro performed the summoning together. And instead of Sakura getting Medusa and Kuro getting Arturia. They both get someone else.

What if Sakura presence becomes a stronger catalyst than Avalon which is unlikely or perhaps Kuro removed Avalon for something and forgot to put it back.

In which case sakura presence acts as a catalyst.

Sakura gets B.B. and Kuro get Melt.

Primordial Dragon Runes
Primordial Dragon Runes were created by Kuro and used in the Game to make the magic system known to as many as possible.

There are Four Basic Runes based on the four basic elements that has been the foundation for a lot of Magecraft.

[Air]
[Water]
[Fire]
[Earth]

These runes cam be combined together to form more complex runes.

Such as

[Earth] and [Water] runes written together would form the rune for [Mud].

[Air] and [Water] runes written together would form the rune for [Rain].

Sometimes though the runes are not so obvious.

Such as [Air] and [Fire] form the rune [Energy].

The advanced runes in turn can also be combined to form even more runes.

[Air] and [Water] gives [Rain]. [Rain] and [Earth] would give [Plant].

[Earth] and [Fire] would give the rune for [Lava]. [Lava] and [Air] would give [Stone]. [Stone] and [Fire] would give [Metal]. [Metal] and [Energy] would give the rune for [Electricity]....

Though you can't go on for ever an one can only fit so much in a limited space.

Since the rune for [Electricity] would actually be.

[[[EarthFire]Air] Fire] AirFire]

So choosing the right kind of rune to use in the right situation is very important in the game... And perhaps even more important in real life... For those who know that the system works...

There is Three more runed that can only be viewed if one Chooses a Magic type build and reaches a high level build.

[Dragon].

[Light]

[Darkness]...

Only a few hundred have reached the level neccesary to unlock Light and Darkness runes.... The Dragon rune bieng accessible to only the best of the best.....

Ofcourse this is all in the game...

In real life?

Well considering there's almost no magi who use technology and how unlikely it is for one to be interested in games even if they accept technology?

Even if someone one does play the game it is highly unlikely they would actually try using it in real life and so the system would go undiscovered by anyone for quite a while....

Atleast until a Bored Zelretch gives a tired Waver Velvet the copy of the game telling him that the game in INTERESTING.

Something made Zelretch interested...

Dear lord....

Taiga Interlude part ONE
OK the Hiatus is officially over.... I'm starting to write this again... So here is the next chapter...

I don't really feel so good. But since my Patreon are still supporting me it behoves me to atleast try to put something out.

Hope you enjoy it.

Now on with the story...
__________________________________________________________________________________________

Fujumura Taiga always knew that Kuro kept secrets from her. Even Kiritsugu kept secrets from her.

That was completely normal. After all, everyone had their own secrets.

That was completely normal.

But when Kuro started showing signs of distress after Kiritsugu's death it started to bother her, at first she thought he was just a young boy grieving.

But that didn't explain the sheer hurry she felt he was in.

As he was alert in the most usual of times.

And then there was the fact he regularly read Doctorate level books she was sure no teen had any right of understanding.

Yet he seemed to go through them like water.

Electronics and machinery.

Kuro had had an interest in them for as long as she could remember.

When she asked him why he liked it so much he told her that it just fascinated him, how a collection of metals, plastics, wires, and a bit of energy could create things that moved by themselves or could rise into the air, or allowed one to interact with the entire world from behind a desk.

Taiga could recall how the redhead took apart his first motorcycle to see what it was made of and how it worked. It had been an old, broken thing, a gift from one of Raiga's men for Kuro to mess around with to his heart's content.

She remembered how excited he was and how his eyes positively glowed with joy when he started to play with it.

Looking back on that, it wasn't entirely clear what that man had been thinking at the time. Giving a motorcycle to a child to take apart was ridiculously irresponsible. It could easily have led to Kuro injuring himself, especially since the man hadn't even removed the fuel from the tank. Kiritsugu had been apoplectic when he'd learned of it.

Still, that incident showed her a new side of Kuro, if she didn't understand how interested in electronics and technology Kuro was then, that moment showed her as he looked like when he truly enjoyed something. So She was grateful to that guy.

But that didn't stop her from beating the guy black and blue for putting her Kuro in danger!

Still, she remembered, how he had taken that motorcycle apart completely, meticulously studying every piece to discover what purpose it served and how it worked muttering all the while details that flew past her. Then he had tried to put it back together again, keyword being tried. He had to repeat the process of breaking it down and building it up again several more times before he managed to get it working. But when he did the joy on his face was contagious.

From there on, he started to ask Raiga if he had any other broken vehicles to repair, he started with motorcycles, and then repairing cars, and then household appliances, and so on.

Over the years, Kuro quickly made a name for himself as an expert mechanic, though only in certain circles, such as a Yakuza gang, several schools, and the local library.

It still amazed her how such a young man managed to achieve such a thing. At times she thought that he might even be this generation's Einstein. So when she asked him what he wanted to be in the future, he responded that he wanted to open a Tech Company.

It was a good ambition.

It was why she always let him off when she found him asleep in class.

Perhaps it was favouritism, but not many people knew how hard he was working.

Raiga on the other hand had never bothered talking about careers or paths to take in life. He had just been happy to have Kuro repair his family's broken motorcycles, cars, and sometimes had Kuro enhance them as well. A normal car should never be able to go faster than three hundred kilometres per hour, but once Kuro was done with it, it could, for a little while at least.

The Yakuza-head didn't use Kuro for those jobs to save money though, no, he generously compensated Kuro for every vehicle repaired. He only used Kuro because Kuro never talked to the police and never asked difficult questions.

A car with bullet holes in the motor cap might raise a few eyebrows in a normal garage, but Kuro just overlooked them, calmly repairing the engine and welding the holes shut without a word.

Once he began to attend school, he started taking care of the appliances there as well. The air conditioners tended to break down every summer due to excessive overuse, and while they would normally be replaced in such an event, since hiring a repairman to fix them was more expensive than just buying a new one, Kuro always managed to make them last a few months more.

His teachers had been so grateful for his work –and that he didn't ask for compensation—that they hadn't even asked where he had learned his skills, nor did they make a problem out of the fact that a preteen was capable of things that even grown men struggled with.

She did find it odd that Kuro was so skilled at such a young age while decent repairing skills normally took years and years to learn, but that was only because they didn't know about his unfair advantage.

Perhaps it was part of the secret? Kiritsugu and Kuro were hiding?

From what Raiga had told her she had assumed Kiritsugu was a part of the Special forces.

In that case, it made sense for them to have special skills perhaps even advanced. Military technology?

But what she was hearing now put all her suspicions to hold.

Kuro had finally told her his secret.

A secret he had shared with Sakura long before.

A secret so unbelievable it took the strange woman in the cloak casually igniting a fire on the palm of her hand to dispel all her doubts that this was reality.

She could feel the heat across the table.

So this was what Kuro had been carrying?

The burden, the knowledge that the world was about to end if he did not act?

That fact he was could use Magic was nothing compared to the fact that he had been carrying the weight of the world on his back all alone.

How was that fair?

A child shouldn't have to carry such a burden yet, Kuro did so anyway.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

It was not Kuro who answered however, it was the cloaked woman.

"You should understand, there are certain rules. If a civilian is ever exposed to Magic then their memories must be erased. However, master did not know any spells that can wipe memories. Should he tell you and you expose the secret then he will be hunted down, and you as well as anyone related to you will be killed. "

That...

That was what Kuro was dealing with?

Dear Kami.

She took a deep breath to calm herself as she went through all the information that she had been told.

Magic is real.

Kuro and Sakura could use magic.

There was apparently something called a Holy Grail within Fuyuki and apparently every sixty years Magicians come to compete against each other in a bloodbath of a competition.

Each magician had to summon a partner who were apparently Ghosts of Legendary Heroes of the past?

So Ghosts were real.

Oh, and Kuro had somehow known about the coming Apocalypse.

A lot of his behaviours made sense now.

The alertness, the way he always seemed like he was in a hurry as if he was running out of time.

Taiga made her decision and her eyes snapped open...

"Very well, I'll keep this a secret." Kuro slumped in his seat and Sakura let out a sigh of relief. "HOWEVER!" and the tension was up again. She gazed softly at Kuro. "You are not doing this alone. I am coming with you!"

"But!"

"No, buts! You forget Kuro! You still haven't beaten me in Kendo! And you're a million years too early to beat me!"

"You can't fight a Servant!" Kuro exclaimed.

"Says the man who got into a fight with Lancer. I appreciate your help but if Lancer was taking you seriously you would have died." The cloaked woman rebutted and Sakura giggled. "Still, if she is truly as good as she says she is then perhaps I could reinforce her so that she is strong enough to fight against Servants."

Reinforce her?

And then she was slowly brought into the fold.

And unlike any other timeline... This one was going to face the wrath of Fujimaru Taiga for hurting her Otouto!
