Personally I'm viewing it as less Science and more 'science' like in movies and TV, I'm kinda ok with him taking a decade to achieve a similar level of power as end UBW Shirou achieved over the course of one fight.

Although the pacing does make it feel a little rushed.
dude, it took archer over 30 years to even learn that plus a deal with alaya, and shirou just did an ass pull and fucking copied everything archer had except for the amount of prana, basicly it shouldnt have taken just a decade for him to come up with a completely new science/magecraft

Shiro didn't take 30yrs to figure out tracing. It took him that long to learn to use his bounded field for his reality marble plus wasted time not knowing projection was a good branch of magic. Without Archer Shiro would have probably wasted time being side tracked because he didn't know his tracing was special. With a hint in the fate route he was able to trace Caliburn.

If we assume that Archer is from the fate route then he already knew how to trace. It is just him growing his collection, creating his martial art and figuring out his Aria that took that long.

You know the way it is going I would not be surprised if he discovered the pym particles, imagine hercules pocket :p .

I cant quite follow upon the "science" with my feeble mind but goddamn is this story fucking epic.

Sakura Interlude
When Senpai came home that night carrying a woman she didn't question him.

She had complete trust in him.

Because she knew he would not throw her away.

No, what concerned her was the fact that he was shivering.

He was also carrying a woman who seemed injured.

So she gently took the woman from his hands and took her to the guest room and cleaned her before tucking her into the futon.

When she came back out she saw him..

His shivering was getting worse.

He was in shock so she brought a warm blanket and slowly wrapped it around him as she slowly helped him to sit down beside the table...

Food... Yes, food or a drink, was good for shock, she needed to get him some something to drink preferably warm.

Making sure he was comfortable first she entered the kitchen she began to heat up the water to prepare some of the red tea that he liked.

Once the tea was ready she poured it in a teacup gently carrying the tea to him and slowly placed the tea in front of him before she sat down beside him.

"Senpai?" she wrapped her arms around him gently trying to comfort the shivering boy.

"Sakura." he looked up at her. And she nearly gasped. "What have I been doing all this time? Everything I did. All my preparations."

His eyes.

His eyes were like hers.

"All of them were useless. D - Rank strength and C Rank speed? My ass. If I take into account Lancer speed and that was him holding back... Then I have severely miscalculated. My nanites were useless against something the could not catch and it barely held together against lancers attacks."

His voice was empty. It lacked the vibrant excitement that she was used to.

"Even with maximum reinforcement and Infinitron helping me taking the new calculations into account I can barely reach E rank in speed. My strength barely manages E-. If Lancer wanted me dead... I would have already been dead."

He was like her... Before he pulled her out of that pit of hopelessness. It was wrong... Senpai worked so hard. Every day and every night. To save her and to save the world. He didn't deserve to go through this.

She engulfed him in a loving hug.

"Senpai. It's alright. You've done so much. It'll be alright."

"But how? How? If I cannot win the grail war. If I cannot defeat Gilgamesh.... Then Angra Mainyu will be born and the world will end, you will die, I will die.."

He shivered once more and she kept didn't let him go as she kept comforting him whispering sweet words until he finally began to fall asleep in her arms.

Senpai faced Lancer? No wonder it shook him to his core. Facing a servant was suicide but from what she understood he had no choice in the matter.

Servants need to be fought with servants.

Not humans.

So she needed to summon her own...

She gently carried him to bed and tucked him in before leaning in to give him a peck on his cheek.

"Sweet dreams Senpai..."

As if in response to her thoughts her palm felt like it was suddenly on fire for a few seconds before it died down...

She let out a small smile as she saw what it was...

Inside the underground workshop in a glowing white room, a magical circle crackled with magical energy. Sakura's circuit warming up as she began to channel it to the ritual.

Silver and iron to the origin. Mud and the archduke of contracts to the cornerstone.

The ancestor is my great master Schweinorg.

The alighted wind becomes a wall. The gates in the four directions close, coming from the crown, the three-forked road that leads to the kingdom circulate.

Shut (fill).

Shut (fill).

Shut (fill).

Shut (fill).

Shut (fill).

Repeat every five times.

Simply, shatter once filled.

――――I announce.

Your self is under me, my fate is in your sword.

In accordance with the approach of the Holy Grail, if you abide by this feeling, this reason, then answer.

Here is my oath. I am the one who becomes all the good of his world, I am the one who rids out all that brings hopelessness in his world.

You, seven heavens clad in three words of power, arrive from the ring of deterrence,
O keeper of the balance ―――!

The wind blew hard one final time before it died down as the flowing circle dimmed and a lascivious figure rose up from the ground. A beautiful lavender hair except in a lighter shade than her summoner. Her eyes covered in a blindfold. Her clothes if they can be called that did nothing to hide her figure.

From what sempai had told her of the future the servant she would summon was Medusa and her appearance seemed to match his description.

"Medusa. I ask of you to lend me your strength. I ask for your help to save my beloved and to aid his goal in saving the world... Will you accept this contract?"

Medusa tilted her head slightly as if she was confused before nodding.

"Very well...You have strange preferences. If you require a sacrifice, do feel free to command me as you wish."

Her voice was soft like silk.

The command seal on sakura's hand glowed as if acknowledging the pact.

"Thank you..." Sakura sighed letting out a sigh of relief. "Thank you so much.."

Did Kuro forget about Cu Chulainn being an actual beast?
I would've expected him to except to be overwhelmed
Amusing none the less

Also wouldn't mentioning Angra Mainyu by name summon him?

Ah, well as a wise man once said: "the plan never survives first contact with the enemy."

It's also really sweet the amount of faith Sakura has in him.

Caster Servants are like Batman, in a sense.
Given enough prep time, they can overcome almost anyone.

Of course... since this is a battle royale of superhumans, time itself is a premium.

Hope Kuro could come to an agreement with the "stray Servant" for the rest of the war.
He'd be able to provide power to Caster and they can think of countermeasures.

Hmm, if Kuro can get Caster to help then she might be able to enchance his gear to be able to stand up properly to a Servant.
Wonder if he could afford to have both Caster and Saber tied to him?

He could have caster summon saber using the command seals she stole from her first master. Plus her expertise in magic should help in improving his gear and smoothing out the flaws he discovered in the lancer fight.

PetaByte
My eyes snapped open as I found myself staring at the Sealing.

Right... Lancer.

I faced Lancer.

And I'm still alive?

That should not be possible, but I was alive. Because Lancer was holding back a lot. And without my rune enhances clothes my speed and strength were limited to E rank.

As fast and strong as that was it would not be enough to keep myself safe from a servant.

Let alone fight one.

And I couldn't be wearing my combat gear all the time.

With that, I made up my mind as I got out of bed.

It was something I wanted to hold off doing or not resort to at all.

I had prepared it just in case but I didn't want to do so.

But now I had no choice.

10 years of preparation and I was barely at the bottom level of servants.

If I wanted to survive this Grail war I had to pull out all the stops.

That means starting Project Cyborg.

As I left the room I saw Sakura preparing breakfast in the Kitchen and Medusa sitting beside the table?

"Sakura?"

"Ah, Senpai!" She turned to me. "Are you alright?"

I nodded. "I'm fine. But I think I should initiate project Cyborg."

Sakura's eyes widened at that. "Sempai. Please don't" She whispered out in horror.

I grimaced a bit but shook my head and looked at her resolutely.

"I'm sorry Sakura. But I nearly died to Lancer yesterday. 10 years of training and Reinforcement barely managed to keep me alive, and that's with Lancer holding back so much that it's not even funny."

"But, Sempai..." She knew all the procedures that would involve Project Cyborg, I took all my knowledge of mage craft and Technology and Ideas from fiction to come up with several procedures for project Cyborg.

Especially the fact that I had to be awake for most of these procedures. Since I didn't exactly have an AI or someone else at my level.

Sakura was good, especially after working with me for so long it was not enough.

I also had a doctor especially for this task to make sure to keep me alive and very good pay for the job to keep him happy.

Though if I knew the memory altering spell I would have used it instead but I didn't know it.

"Sempai you can't!" She took my hand in hers, her eyes sparkling with tears. "If you do this... You know that you can't come back. You can't live a normal life again!"

"I know." my voice cracked as I could hold in my emotions anymore. "Sometimes I wish I could just take you with me and leave all this godforsaken land behind" My voice came out a whisper as well, mentally exhausted. "but even if we run away, then when the grail manifests the world will end and we will die anyway. If we had a choice. I would have run away with you a long time ago Sakura, you know that!" I cried out as I held her shoulders my tears leaking beyond my control." Hell if I have a way to contact the Goddamn Wizard Marshall and make a deal with him to take us to another earth where we can spend our lives peacefully I would, but I have no idea of how to contact him and I do not trust anyone in the mage association except Zelretch himself and Lord El-melloi the Second!"

I let go of her shoulders and sat down.

" If I could leave this world-" I stopped. As an idea sparked in my mind. it was an absolute last resort idea if the world is indeed ending and we fail to stop the grails mud from spilling.

"Sempai?"

"Fine, I won't go full project Cyborg, but I do need a partial upgrade at least.
Perhaps project Enhanced Wolverine?" I already had Nanites in my body anyway even if most of them are used for the generation of Magical energy, repairs and creating temporary machines/ mystic codes. I could command them to help enhance my speed and strength though that would be only a temporary solution.

"Senpai!" She breathed out a sigh of relief. "Please don't ever do that." She looked at me with pleading eyes.

"Alright. As long we can stop the end of the world that should not be a problem."

Sakura sighed knowing that was all she would get out me.

I turned the servant beside us that I assume was summoned by Sakura.

"So, Medusa?" The servant tensed a bit at that. "I hope you are comfortable?"

I could feel her gaze on me even with her blindfold as if she was analysing me, but did not consider my threat.

"Please call me Rider." She said giving a short nod.

"I take it Sakura has told you everything?"

"Yes." Short and to the point she, seemed to be analysing me. Not sure why though but that didn't matter.

She knew the stakes involved so that was good.

As soon as I finished that I heard the sound of coughing.

Specifically from Medea's guest room.

"Sakura, please prepare some Tea and something light to eat. I'll check on Caster."

Sakura nodded and I headed to Medea's room.

As I opened the door I saw her sitting up in her futon, her bang covering her eyes. She didn't move a bit.

I slowly kneeled down next to her as to not startle her.

"Are you alright?"

She remained silent.

Of course, she was not alright. What was I thinking?

She was just betrayed by her own master and almost killed by Setanta there was no way she was alright.

"Just a minute. I'll bring you some tea and something to eat."

As I stood up and turned to leave the room I heard a soft "wait" and paused before turning to see caster looking towards me her bangs still covering her eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll be back in a moment with something to eat and some tea. I won't be far, alright?" I smiled trying to reassure her. The poor woman went through so much already it would be remiss of me to treat her like a poor host. "Relax, I'll be back soon."

With that, I headed to the kitchen and joined Sakura in the kitchen to make something nice.

He is still mad about losing to Lancer? He's just as bad as OG Shiro. He can't comprehend that masters aren't supposed to fight servants. Does he not have command seals to summon Saber yet? Or is he just scared he won't get Saber because he is different?

He just woke up dude...and when the gddamn fate of the world is on your shoulders you are going to have a lot of stress.

Heh, Shiro or Kuro it doesnt matter.
A Shirou is still a Shirou.
I think it's both ideas, both the fact that the SI soul can be mixed with Shiro's soul, the bleeding effect and something in that verse?, Of this universe, and the fear that he will not receive the same Knowledge .
No, and he wouldn't get King Arthur, since he has a sheath, but yes, if he will get King Arthur (the canonical version) because there are so many versions that it's not even funny, and if by some miracle he can have difficulties to understand it since both would have disagreements in their opinions.

The thing is he expected to fight servants why? No matter what he prepped even if his stats became all A he wouldn't be able to win. Servants have NPs and skills that can break physics. He shouldn't have even thought about fighting them in the first place. If he was thinking straight for the decade leading up to this he would realize spirits have experience, skills, and NPs he can't defeat.

Ironically enough Sakura is the sane one in this relationship. She saw the beat down and did the sensible thing and summoned a servant. If he's going to be as insane as Shiro then at least have his balls and shake off near death.

Edit: The situation isn't even that desperate, he potentially has four servants if he doesn't screw up. Caster, Rider, Assassin (Caster summon), Saber and if he can convince Run to stand down a potential Archer. Considering Sakura is on his side and he has the numerical advantage she would be stupid to not stand down.

Edit2: He really should summon soon considering Shinji is still alive and could potentially screw things up.

Canonically Shirou was a blank slate after the fire, there was nothing left to affect Kuro... Except maybe Avalon, but that shouldn't do anything to a fully formed personality.

Ok got a theory because knowing what the MC knows I don't understand his fixation on fighting servants. He has unlimited Mana for caster and Saber to use. With that Saber is not as limited as she was in the canon 4th and 5th war. As for major threats that's Berserker and Gil. Saber can defeat Gil if given Avalon and Berserker won't win against three servants coming at him. Instead of jumping the gun and busting out a new project he can do what Sakura did and summon a servant as asset denial. Reason why I think he should ignore cannon is Shinji might become a potential master. So talk to Caster come to an accord like his teacher did in canon then summon. While there is a possibility he gets Triston as Archer and Rin gets Saber it won't change things to majorly.

Well considering i love this fic let me fitch in as well.
Kuro or what I believe he is, his a ordinary man that somehow got reborn in Shirou body. As once an ordinary man he isn't as bad ass as we believe. Yes his powerful yes he could likely defeat shirou in a head to head fight. However unlike shirou, kuro has more years in being a peaceful man. Because of this he is easily surprised by anything supernatural. Yes he isn't a third rate magus but he isn't first rate either. First rate magus are people who are thought and used to the moon lit world.
So in conclusion no matter how strong kuro is he won't be able to defeat emiya. His battle hardened, tactical, and very versatile that makes him a tough enemy to fight, also his used to fighting stronger opponents.
Even if we want kuro to trash everyone, kuro is still a weak fighter. He got used to overpowering everything. Yes he could destroy the world but like every magus in there he needs preparation.
So I believe powering him will only be decremental to his abilities. I would recommend using caster like tactics. Or his father's tactics brutally efficient.
Also another note shirou is strong because his weak, kuro in another hand is weak because his strong... if he become a servant he can be Caster Emiya.
also if i would put a rate of his strength it would be
Saber-25% Archer-60% Caster-90% Assasin-10% berserker-15% rider-20% Lancer-20%
now if we're talking about potential then all of it could be 100 percent
Saber- if he managed to study and train in the arts of head to head combat he can likely equal high ranking sabers class ranked
Archer- well gil can count as a archer kuro can probably surpass him because of his mana.
Caster- he is more of a mage than a fighter.
Assasin- again if only he learned from kiritsugu.
Berserker- if I'm only saying if sakura dies, he could go mad everyone fears a mad scientist for a reason.
Rider- well he could make a mech... anyone agree?
Lancer- he has the foundation like being a saber he just needs polishing.
He could also be a beast a robo beast that is ayyy anyone okay i'll stop.

edit: I would also like to ask if we can make omakes?

Of course you can make omakes... You don't have to ask for that.
