BONEYGUARD and the other undead you animate are Companions. You may bring a maximum of three (3) companions from one encounter to the next, but if you want to de-animate one of the Skeletons to get a Zombie, by all means, include that.

ESCAPE check Failed!

You turn, frantically trying to avoid the skeleton's aim, but you are too slow. It fires, but the bolts clatter harmlessly off of your vambraces.

With nothing for it, you lunge at the skeleton, taking a low sweep that completely removes the undead's pelvis.

BONEYGUARD goes high where you went low, skewering the creature to the floor where its spine shatters.

You gain +1 WIS!

While the crossbow was smashed the quiver is intact, and it contains several DARTS.

It is not possible to SEARCH for secret doors right now. You must BACKTRACK to JI or LL

Room 26- Mysterious Well
You head back through some rooms, resolving to be quicker on your feet next time.

The room you enter has a low ceiling, and moss and lichens growing around a well. Not undead moss, although it maybe doesn't look the healthiest.

You take a drink from the well.

SKILL CHECK-NATURE-FAILED

You gain +1 INT for the attempt, since this was an encounter. An Enchantment, even, much like the statue.

The water is cool, but there is a slight brackish taste. At least it's fresher than what you've been carrying in your waterskin.

Exits are NORTH, SOUTH, and EAST. You have already explored SOUTH and EAST.
 
Room 27/28- Nothing and a Zombie
Nothing.

You find nothing in the room, aside from the other side of the iron door, which is somehow also locked from this side.

Wearily, you trudge back through the long and winding halls until you arrive at a door you have not passed through. You shoulder it open.

A sad-looking ZOMBIE in the center of the room gurgles at you.

Exits are WEST, EAST, and SOUTH. You have already explored EAST.

Will you FIGHT or RUN?

You can also specify a direction to go in if you choose to FIGHT, this should make things a teensy bit faster.
 
Room 28/29 Ding! and yet more monsters.
RESTING recovers STAMINA, right?
Yes. And ticks up the Encounter tracker. And allows resetting a very small number of Adventure skills.

You rush forward, you loyal skeletons and zombo doggo at your side, and the ZOMBIE goes down in a whirl of steel. It's pretty much dismembered by the time it stops moving, which is rather inelegant for a NECROMANCER such as yourself.

However, you can't really argue with results. You gain +1 STR!

You have gained a level! You are now level 2!
You have learned a new skill: ZOMBIE WALL

You find a BAG OF GOLD.

You give ZERO THE SHADOW DOG some scritches because he is a good boy.
