So, to clarify, as I apparently have made a bit of a mess of this explanation:

Lind is giving Changying the assets he is willing to part with, and in exchange, a wishlist of items he wants.

In general, she will do her best, as your personal shopper, to get you what you want and she thinks would benefit you.

So to @DangerKitty, your "Sell" vote should contain what budget you are giving her to work with. To @CedeTheBees, the latter is closer to correct, though if something is low on the list and outside of your budget, she will attempt to work with what she's given to make sure what she gets you is useful.
Fixed?

Coursing River Arrow Technique (Water Aspect) 8/10!
Cool! Basically guaranteed to complete it next time we cycle to it.

Early Consecration Stage: 14/15!
This as well! And we get +1 str/will as well. No regrets for getting this tech.

Kinda tempted to complete the technique and the Consecration Stage and then hunt for the demon hand depending on the stats for the technique.

--[] sun-deer meat
--[] duck
--[] 2 silver
-[]Buy
--[] contacts with good immortal chefs/alchemists
--[] armor for hunters

"Paid a crafter in materials for over a year before I finally saved up enough for her to create this. The steel is charmed so that if it damages the foe and they escape I can follow their trail.
I doubt we'll get a better bow at the moment based on what this guy said. So, I'm gonna focus on armor due to our reckless style, Medicine and talisman.

[X] Plan Preparing for Demon Hand

I vibe with this plan a lot. It hurts to sell all the deer stuff but it's not like we can't just do more hunting.

[X] Plan Preparing for Demon Hand

Seems a bit overkill, but we should be able to recoup expenses when we do more hunting.

[X] Plan Preparing for Demon Hand

Mhm, this is fine although I do hope if we get contacts of an alchemist they may be able to create poison to help with hunt bigger beasts or demons or create scented oils to help us track tricky cowardly foes while the poison does a number on them over time.

Mhm, maybe next time if we meet with this merchant girl we can sell her goods for her time looking out for jobs in town to hunt pests or demons or whatever gribbly out their and to tell us of them since we suck at communicating with other's and their doesn't seem to be a job board in town to hunt gribbles.

"I'll sell everything," you tell her washing your hands of the table.

Wu Chanying just smiles as you also reach into your pouch and pull out two silver coins for good measure.

Items Lost – Glowing Antler, Sun-Deer Meat, Duck, 2 Silver

2 Silver Remaining
.

"Your faith in me is touching, and well earned I assure you." Before she scoops them into a pocket in her coat.

"Follow me."

The bulge of the items slowly flattens until there's little to no trace of them.

"Best to sell the meat at its freshest," she tells before she breezes through the marketplace and it's chaos like an arrow headed straight for its target.

In comparison you dodge, duck, dip dive and stumble your way through the masses, trying to keep pace with the ethereal wisp in front of you. Her black ponytail swinging in the air the only thing you can keep track of at times. Every so often she turns to watch you almost crash into a carpenter, almost trip over a vendors table, and get hassled by an old woman demanding to dye your furs blacker than night no matter how many times you tell her your furs are absolutely fine thank you very much.

Along the way you spot charred fibres, marked in a reduced stand, wooden stalls laying behind hastily erected tents. The scent of smoke mingles with the scent of fruit, meats and candied goods that sit on opposite sides of the road as you move through. You see that the prices on sleeping mats and tents have risen, evidenced by crossed out and rewritten prices. Finally, the pair of you are standing in front of a building, unmarred from the fires of days gone.

You would think it more a barn than anything, were it not located in the centre of the town. Wide open doors, manned by guards who spare but a small glance before turning their gazes elsewhere. Once you step inside though you realise that finally, you may not have to eat porridge and salted meat every day.

Location Uncovered – The Immortal Kitchens

"The Immortal Kitchens." Wu Chanying tells you, arm outstretched in a dramatic flourish as you peer over her shoulder at a slew of stalls and businesses.

You see a stall filled with fish on ice, workers slicing them up to the liking of customers. Further down a butcher, where Chanying is likely to lead you. Around them a litany of chefs and cooks, serving up fresh meals for some of the guards and members of the sect.

Spiritual Prowess 3 + Qi 0 (Cycling 3) – 6d10 (4, 9, 4, 6, 1, 5) – 1 Success

This is one of the few times you have seen seniors and junior members of the sect mingling, outside of the night of the demon attack. Extending your new senses, you see Qi swimming through the air. You watch specks of Qi flying into the air as the fishmonger takes his blade to a catfish the size of his own arm. The same color as those from the Mudpots you'd visited before. As you focus in on the fish lying on ice, and the meat on display at the butchers stalls you see them brimming with Qi untapped.

This is where you should bring your game and thank the heavens Chanying has brought you to it.

"Where did you get the game from?" Chanying asks as she dips into her coat and the packages return, bundled in her hand.

"I was led to one of the lakes near the forest, inside the sect."

"Inside the sect?"

"Yes."

Her grip on the packages gets a little tighter.

"That'll up our prices markedly." She tells you, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she calls out to the butcher. "Master Bao!"

The butcher slams his knife into the cutting board as he looks up. "Wu Chanying! What have you got for me?"

She gently places the packages down. "Freshly caught this morning by my new friend over here." She says as she wraps an arm around you and brings you in front of the butcher who stares at you with a glint of interest. "From the sect itself, so bursting with freshness and Qi."

He snorts at the added addendum before he carefully unties the string and stares at the two items he's been given.

"The duck is less impressive, not much Qi to it, and I can get Water aspected Qi from almost anywhere." He says as he runs his hand over the meat. "But it is plump and well plucked."

"This though," he says as he picks up the meat of the deer, veins and muscle still glowing the colour of the sun. "Is far more valuable. A rarer type of Qi and I can think of a few disciples who'll be more than interested in acquiring this."

"Well," Chanying says. "I suppose now we discuss terms?"

What follows is quiet, hissed negotiations between the two, leading themselves away from you. Him in case you ever come back alone, her so that you'll try and go through her the next time you look to do a deal.

Perception Check (Hearing) 3d10 – 1 Success

Every so often you hear prices suggested, countered swiftly by the other. The duck they agree on only being worth one silver coin. The sun-aspected deer takes longer to negotiate, the butcher arguing that it's worth two and Chanying that the rarity of the Qi makes it worth three. In the end the butcher suggests throwing something in to sweeten the deal and Chanying accepts. He takes the parcels out back and returns with two coins and from the looks of it an old piece of faded leather armor which he hands to you.

"Bit big for you in places but I'm sure it'll do a job and my days are done." The butcher says as he looks to Chanying. "We have a deal Wu Chanying?"

Item Gained – Leather Armor – Light - Uses - 25/25 Threshold: 4

Armor Mechanics – Light Armor adds 1 Auto-Success to all defence rolls. With each defensive turn the armor loses one 'use.' Threshold dictates that if an attack does more damage than you successfully defend. Ie Opponent rolls 6 successes to your 2, then the armor 'breaks' and needs to be repaired before it can be used again. Armor can be maintained by craftsmen or Lind, should he ever successfully learn this skill. Heavier armor offer more durability and safety, at the cost of movement.

Skills Gained! – Appraisal (1)

"Most generous of you, I'll be sure to have a word with Captain Yin the next time he makes port. I'll see if he can sneak over some of those cuts you like so much."

"Yeah, yeah, the man owes me at least a ships worth at this point." The butcher says, gesturing for her to move along.

"And you!" He says, stopping you as you go to leave. "Bring your own cuts here next time and the chefs will be happy to cook you a meal on the cheap. Saves them having to pay for the meat, and I doubt you've ever had a taste of immortal cuisine. Try it."

You nod once, before the weight of the armor on your shoulder feels almost oppressive, reminding you of something.

Aah, manners.

You drop into a bow. "Thank you for the armor, I'll put it to good use."

"Don't care what you do with it." He tells you as he rips the knife out of the wooden board, before tearing into the glowing meat of the deer. "But if it keeps you alive long enough to bring some more meat like this back then that's good business for me. Happy hunting."

With that dismissal you stand back up and let Wu Chanying lead you back out to the makets

"Well now you know about the Kitchens, and I've even gotten you some armor out of our quick acquaintance." She tells you as she pulls out the antlers and stares at them, brow furrowed before she turns to you and asks. "Do you know what else you want?"

You pause for a moment. What else do you need? The Ghost did tell you to chase after the hand, and the armor could certainly help with that. Especially given the bruises that still linger on your chest.

On that note.

"Medicine, something for combat if I need it."

She nods slowly, eyes glinting at the suggestion.

"I heard you had a run in with a demon. Looking to settle unfinished business?" She asks, stroking her chin with the antler in her hand.

"It's been suggested to me, by a few parties." You admit. "I need to be stronger before I make any moves in that direction though."

"Still," she muses. "Lind Tallak, Demon Hunter, I think it has a nice ring to it. Now come with me, and I'll get you what you need."

The rest of the afternoon passes quickly, a short stop to the nearby refiner nets you a pill in case of emergencies, and a talisman, that she thrusts into you hand.

Items Gained:

A Second Wind – Healing Pill – 5 Health restored upon use

Added Effort – Talisman – 2 Successes added to an attack, single use, costs 1 Qi.

Talismans – Talismans are small trinkets that carry quick boosts at the cost of Qi. Some can have long-term uses, though small in power. Others can have greater effects but are limited to single use. Talismans are designed to help overcome immediate challenges, overreliance has been the fall of many a cultivator in the face of danger.

"And so ends our business Lind Tallak." She says, before she produces a single silver coin, still left from the beginning of the day. "Consider this my commission, and I hope that you'll make use of my skills again soon."

You stare at the silver coin and nod, thanking her for her efforts as the sun begins to set on the day. It is still the middle of your first week at the sect, even though it feels that a lot has happened.

What is to follow?

Four Hour Moratorium on Voting, any votes in this time will not be counted.

Note: Votes in Plan Format Choose Three Actions

Training Actions

[] The seniors are still offering introductory lessons, the cultivator is always happy to take on new recruits. Go with him and explore the art of cycling Qi, and growing your spiritual capabilities. Now that you have chosen another style in place of the sect you are still welcome to come and cycle the ambient Qi, but you will receive no instruction.

-[] List what you will cycle into (Stage, Technique etc)

[] Jin Jiayi told you to come back whenever you wished for more lessons in the art of combat, go test yourself in the ring against your fellows. (Random Encounters, Train in the Valiant Champion Style)

[] There are always jobs in the town seek out employment and grow your skills… and your wallet. (Potentially develop skills, monetary reward, ???)
-[] Meet with the seamstress. Sewing requires diligence, patience and a steady hand, qualities you have in abundance.
-[] The butcher is looking for someone with a strong hand to cut spirit meat.
-[] The local crafter needs some small tasks done. Who knows what you might pick up?
-[] The innkeeper of the Dragon's Wing was happy with your impromptu efforts last night, Zhen's willing to let you work under him again.

[] The guards have a shooting range for Archery, work to develop your skills in preparation for future hunts.

[] You already have some skill in the art of cultivation, and you're recently found a Qi spot, go forth and cycle.

-[] Write in where and what you are cycling towards.

Social Actions

[] Bai Ping is quickly earning himself a name in the local taverns as a skilled player, you have yet to see him join any of the Seniors class though. What is he doing in his time here?

[] Vijaya Paranthapa has welcomed you if you ever wish to spar, maybe this time you could provide a better showing than before? She has begun to gather a small group of initiates who use the fighting pits once Jiang Jiayi is done for the day.

[] The other night you were approached by a fellow initiate and told that you simply must meet with Lord Li Jiang, a young noble who is always on the lookout for worthy allies. From what little you've seen he has a small army of hangers on vying for his attention. How could you gain his?

[] Wu Chanying has perhaps taken on more than she can chew with her latest endeavour, seen with a cart the size of a small house and no one to lend her a hand. What is she doing?

[] You and Liu Zhiquaing live under the same roof but you have yet to properly make the acquaintance of your fellow initiate. Spending most of his time in the forests within the sect, perhaps you should join him for a day?

[] The Ghost has been seen around the sect and village, though most tend to keep a wide berth to him. Perhaps once you finish what you started, he might lend you his ear?

[] Surely there are others in the sect that you could make the acquaintance of, take a walk and see who you find. Or, who finds you. (???)

Personal Actions

[] A few night ago you chased after something and were it not for Bai Ping it could well have ended your life. The sect has deemed it a matter below the concerns of the sect, but it could come back to wreak havoc on the town. Find it.
-[] Bai Ping did seem to have experience in this field, and no love of demons either. Maybe he'll be willing to lend a hand.

[] The markets are home to a great range of things from weapons, charms and from what you've heard even Qi techniques. Go and peruse the market to see what you can find.

[] Go and see what the sect has for you, explore to your hearts content (D100)

[] You are a hunter, above all else. Go and search for some quarry.
-[] Search the Sect (D100)
-[] Search the surrounding forests (D8) - Low chance of spirit aspected beasts
-[] Search the Mudpots

[] Back in the port city there is always work for skilled labourers and you often see some of your fellow initiates, leaving for the day to complete tasks, you could find work at the docks

[] The Immortal Kitchens are home to meals of all manner. If you can afford them of course. (Immortal meals are worth 5 Silvers. This cost can be offset by bringing your own game.)

Early: 14/15

Coursing River Arrow: 8/10
Qi Sites are of varying quality, but all add extra dice to cultivation actions, and some may have additional benefits. The Mudpots add +2 dice to any cultivation actions, and +4 to cultivation actions invoking Earth or Fire qi.
Between these, I'm kinda tempted to get both of these to the next level, then spend our final action on a social (maybe Bai Song?).

Leave the demon hunting for next turn, especially if we can get Bai's help this turn.

Yeah i want to cultivate to the next stage and finish getting that hunting tech. The third action im a lot more ambivalent about though. Feeling like either a social or maybe going to fighting training? Spend a turn getting super buff fight wise then go hunting for the demon next turn.

Id also be down to just go hunting for our third action. Our super breathing tech encourages using pills and immortal food, but those things cost money. best way for us to get said money is to hunt. Also hunting is just fun and kinda what the character does.

How bout something like....

--[] Prismatic Mudpots
---[] Cultivation
---[] Coursing River Arrow
-[] You are a hunter, above all else. Go and search for some quarry.

That looks pretty good, but i think id rather do a general hunting action. Its a big sect and i'd like to see more of it. Find new hunting grounds and cultivation sites and the like. Serves the same purpose and kinda doubles as a exploration action too.

[X] Plan: Advancement

we are super likely to succeed in both of these advancements, so i'm curious to see how exactly a higher cultivation and an actual hunting tech improves our hunting.

not that we've done a whole lot of normal hunting so far, but i hope we can bag something cool like the flashbang deer.
