Your Killing Intent screams for Launcel's blood. A revolutionary once. A pirate, now. No doubt his black sword is stained with innocent blood. You'd be well within your rights to end his misery here and now. Paomli broke him, made the former proud Knight Radiant a murderer and worse. But, you hold back. There is more to mercy than just a sharp blade. It does not escape you that the former Kameloth royal was the only slave in your detestable kin's retinue who he decided to break. A true villain would have jumped at the chance to sail these turbulent seas and rape and ransack to their black heart's content.
All you sensed was agony and anguish, despair and disgust. And your muddled memories of Kameloth--somehow the memories of your ancestral homeland, the land from which the Burke's hailed so long ago, are misshapen--recall that he stood down his revolution the moment the One True King of Kameloth returned. And he only revolted against an evil and unworthy despot...
You swallow, but your decision is made. Instead of destroying... instead of taking the easy way and cleanly ending his suffering, you shall attempt to build and restore. He shall never be the same man he once was. How could he? Perhaps, there might be something left to heal. Mayhaps, there is atonement for Launcel?
"You will accompany me." You command.
He kneels with perfect precision that'd rival a lifelong slave's etiquette. "Your will be done, Great Dragon."
"Ken will suffice." You say quietly. He is not a Marine. You will not require him to use your title. Irrational irritation itches at your mind. You snap out. "And stand up. We're leaving." You can't stand to be around all these pirates, not for a second longer. "Now."
He bolts to his feet, like a hunting dog ready to course according to his master's will.
"You're leaving, Kenny?" Straw Hat says. He sounds sad.
Roronoa Zoro holds her sword high, and bites out. Her demonic aura is as impressive as you've ever felt. Even Lucci would be pushed to match his killing intent. "You're taking us lightly. Don't. Next time we meet, it won't go the same."
"Kokoko!" You nonchalantly gesture at the dead pirates reduced to broken corpses all around. You peer at Zoro from a higher place. A manic smile carves itself across your features. "When you bastards step out of line... I'll be there."
"Just let the bloody maniac go!" Black Leg Sanji shouts as he turns to the Cat Burglar Nami. Damned pirate harlot should put some more clothes on. Entirely too much disgusting flesh shows. The cook pulls out a plate of scrumptious food from somewhere. "Naaaaaami-dear!!! ❤ ❤!!!"
You ignore the hideous female pirate. You brush aside Monkey D. Luffy's incessant questioning stare. Now's as good a time as any for a pitch! The Disposition of a True Celestial Dragon rolls out over the Common World. "Cook, come with me." He turns from his embarrassing fawning. "Renounce your pirate ways, and I shall absolve you! Sail these seas. Cook only for me and mine, and I guarantee you will find only the finest ingredients. I know you seek All Blue. Sail with me, and we will find it."
"Don't try to steal my friend, Kenny!" Luffy huffs angrily.
"I'll pass." No hesitation from the cook.
"You'll change your mind." You say with certainty. He will be your cook. The memory of GOD will not leave you. Everything else will taste like ash and dust. Perhaps, some advice will make inroads? That's how Commoners do it. "Until then, Cook, play to your strengths. Food is a good way into a woman's heart, but control yourself. Do not chase too eagerly, or you shall spook them. Show your worth, show patience, and a woman worth your time will come to you."
From your perch upon Paomli's monstrous ship, your eyes scan the Thousand Sunny one last time. The vile pirate vessel's mascot grins evilly at you. You know this is not the last time you'll see the ship or her crew or her damnable captain. You're not that lucky! You can't bear to be in their presence for a moment longer. You can't allow them to roam these waters free. Already Mihawk, Crocodile, Weevil, and Buggy the Clown have slipped through the hands of your justice. You shout! "Until next time, Straw Hat!"
You pull clouds up and over and around the hull of this hateful ship. And then you fly as fast as you can manage towards Nimue and the Exalted Dawn. The innocent slaves are confused. Many huddle together in abject fear. Many more need medical attention and a proper meal. All of that will be seen to shortly. As the ship hurtles through the air, something that Common Humans might call nervousness thrums through your vessel. How have your friends and comrades been? You've been to hell and back since you last saw them. Are they well? Have they been warring against pirates and Sin as well as they ought?
You shake away all expectations. You will deal with whatever you find. You must have faith in your men's training and prowess. You did not give them permission to die after all!
A distance away the CP-0 agents silently carry out your will.
Alvin speaks. "My Muse, perhaps, you might want to wear more fashionable attire for such a reunion?"
You yield to the Battle Tailor's expertise. He dresses you with the skill of a Grandmaster Battle Tailor.
A handful of minutes pass, and then you sight the Exalted Dawn on the horizon. She is not alone. You sight an entire battlegroup accompanying her. Vice Admiral Tsuru and Garp and Vergo's respective ships are among the potent fleet. Icarus circles over head. The terrible storm gives way as you draw closer. "Papa!!!"
Tears fall unabashedly as you bring the pirate ship down near the gleaming Ship of Dreams. The Thousand Sunny, still tethered to this massive behemoth splashes down not far away. A sharp smile graces your features. Oops.
As the ship settles, you drink in the sight. Lining the rails and at general quarters, you see your friends and comrades. A moment to indulge. Your sharp eyes discern every detail. The Exalted Dawn is exactly as you left her. A piece of art, an apt vessel that whispers at the edge of awareness. Warmth and conviction swell within you.
Towering above the lot is the giant Weaponsmith Torbert, but you see Lucci and Kaku and Nico Robin standing next to the tiger at the forecastle of the ship. Uma and Law stand close to one another. Very close. Vice Admiral Onigumo is... swabbing the deck wielding eight separate mops at once. The Amazonian Aphelandra and Cirno move among the familiar faces of the White Tiger brigade. Nimue is there, below decks. You know it. Marine Instructor Zephyr and his two subordinates blink at you from the helm. Beside the legendary Marine, you see Admiral Kizaru in a garishly checkered suit.
Unlike the Exalted Dawn, the crew is not unchanged. You note new scars, new recruits. The absence of some faces strikes a chord deep in your heart. They've seen struggle and adventure without you, but they have not been broken. They stand ready to face the storm to come.
Seven steps. You're there.
"Kokoko!!! I'm home!"
