AN: Sorry that this chapter was late, I did not have access to my laptop yesterday. Hopeful this won't happen again and I can get back to my daily schedule. Any advice correctils or criticisms are welcome.

I will be referring to the avatar as Exotl as opposed to Ezotl as to differentiate him from the greater whole of your divine being.

Ezotl's avatar began to take shape. A young man, pale skinned with amber eyes. He had white hair with black highlights topped with a captain hat and goggles. Small, fluffy white wings poked out of his back. He was dressed in military dress clothes under an unbuttoned overcoat.

Ezotl felt his consciousness fill the avatar, the small spark of divine energy turning into the raging flame of a soul. His avatar blinked it's-his eyes as he awoke, flexing his new limbs slightly.

Having finished creating his avatar, Ezotl turned his attention back to the problem of his plans. He desired above all to spread his gifts, his teachings to all, every man, woman and child. The light of the soul and the fires of innovation were a treasure all should grasp. Currently only a select few would ever learn to wield the might of their soul and even fewer would ever awaken the creative potential within them. That had to change.

Secondary was the problem of the soulless abominations that blotted out the skies, endless in number. They would have to be dealt with eventually, lest they interfere with is plans. However Ezolt was not worried about that, his gifts would be more than enough to strike down the black beasts.

Their soul be the shield, their mind be the sword. Man would advance unheeded.

Exotl began to walk through the first he had been born in, his amber eyes surveying the tree's around him.. He could see their brilliant souls, a thousand different colours, each different from the last, utterly unique in a way nothing else could ever be. Exotl pressed his palm against the bark of a particularly large oak tree.

"For it is in passing we achieve Immortality, through it we become a paragon of glory and virtue and rise, infinite in distance and unbound by death," recited Exotl as he poured a fraction of his near endless aura into the tree, watching with joy as a shimmering green aura surrounded it, indicating that it's soul had been materialized.

"Hello tree," Exotl spoke. He knew intellectually that the tree was not sentient, nor sapient. However, the newly formed avatar was not dissimilar from a child and held many childish curiosities.

Exotl continued to walk through the forest, occasionally stopping to awaken the aura of plants he found interesting. Eventually he had made his way to a trodden dirt road. Based on the hoof tracks, it was likely that the rode was often walked by horses.

Exotl began to walk down the road. If he followed it long enough he would eventually find civilization. For hours he followed the road, his divine body unable to feel fatigue.

Exotl turned his head as he heard the sound of hoof's clopping behind him. He looked up and saw two horses pulling a wagon. Two men sat in the carriage holding long, thin rifles. The horses stopped as they neared him.

"Tha fuck'r ya doin in the middle of tha road?" spat one of the men gripping his gun tightly. Exotl smiled at them.

"Hello, mortal! It is I, Exotl. I have come to deliver you from your misery and spread the teaching of god," he said with a wide smile. The two men glanced at each other, readying their rifles.

"You sum kinda cultist? Fuck outta here, cunt! We ain't want your scam! You get off the road or I'll fill ya with bullets!" One of the men said venomously, pointing his gun at Exotl.

"You scum-fuckers just take advantage of gullible people, well where the fuck were yer gods when the grimm slaughtered my village?" one of the men said glaring. Exotl frowned slightly, these mortals seemed very rude. Did they not realize he was just here to help?

"Don't worry mortal! I am no cultist. I am Exotl, avatar of Ezotl, the god of Souls and lord of innovation. Prostrate yourself before me and receive my divine blessing!" he said cheerfully. The men raised their guns pointing them at him.

"You ain't no cultist, just fucking insane . . You have five seconds to get off the road or I'll shoot ya," the first man threatened.

Exotl frowned again, why weren't they listening. He sent a request to his full self, asking for advice. In a moment a response came. He should . .

What do you do?

[]Punish them!

Sometimes you need to discipline a child to teach it.
- You will be a more wrathful god
+ You will have an easier time enacting miracles that punish or harm

[]Try and prove your godhood.
--[]Awaken their aura

Show them the might of their souls
- You will have a harder time enacting wrathful miracles
+ You will have an easier time enacting miracles that affect the soul

--[] Turn their wagon into something better.

Gifts will oft fix a relationship
- You will have a harder time enacting wrathful miracles
+ You will have an easier time enacting miracles related to innovation

Exotl blinked as he decided what to do. He would just have to show these mortals some proof of his godhood. He began to walk forward towards them arms raised. The two men's eyes widened and they began to fire at him, small bullets exploding forth from the barrel of their rifles towards him. The bullets smashed into his aura and bounced off harmlessly. Exotl grabbed the wrist of one of the men and sent a surge of aura into his body. The man gasped as a bright yellow aura began to surround his body.

"Tha hell is this?" he shouted, eyes wide.

"This is Aura. The manifestation of your soul. It is my gift to you and all men," Exotl spoke. "It will protect you from harm and heal your injuries,"

Exotl then grabbed the second man, who had been frozen in shock since his bullets had failed to harm Exotl. Most people had never met a huntsman, and thus would have no idea what aura was or what it did, beyond perhaps vague stories and legends.

The second man too gasped as he felt his aura awaken, the bright light of his soul covering his body with a dull grey glow. The two men glanced at each other, unsure of how to proceed. It would take a lot more than that to prove something as improbable as godhood, but at the very least he had proven he meant no harm, and more importantly that they couldn't harm him.

"Now, mortals, where were you going?" Exotl asked cheerfully.

". . . Well, we were planning on taking the road to Isten Village, since the grimm got our village . . . " one of the men replied. Exotl nodded.

"I see. Then I shall accompany you," he announced. The two men, realizing that there was not anything they could really do about it, nodded and thus the journey began. The horses began to gallop, pulling the wagon along with them.

Exotl raised his palm and a thin light flew outwards to the horses, causing their aura's to awaken as well. Immediately they began to gallop much faster. At first, awakening aura had taken a short ritual, but it seemed that his actions with the men had allowed his connection to the domain of souls to strengthen slightly.

Exotl frowned. He felt that there was much more depth to the domain of souls, power yet untapped, just out of his reach. He pushed the thoughts away. Once his power base began to grow he could look deeper into such things, for now he should focus on spreading his teachings to the villagers of Isten.

With the enhanced speed of the horses, the three of them arrived far sooner than normal and within only 6 hours, had arrived. Isten village appeared on the horizon, a small town in the middle of a large mountain valley. Dozens of villagers were out and about, children playing in the grass and adults toiling in the mines. It appeared that the village's economy was focused on mining dust, which was then sold to companies that would process and refine it.

The horses slowly came to a stop as they arrived on the outskirts of the village. Once they were spotted, several of the townsfolk warily came out to greet them, wielding pickaxes or rifles. A large, gruff man walked over to them, holding a rifle. Exotl frowned. What was it with humans and greeting others with weapons?

"Who're you?" he asked in a deep tone. Before Exotl could respond the first man spoke up.

"Ma name is Jack and this here is ma brother John. Were from Asti village, near the coast. Grimm got it, so we came over here, looking for work and a place to stay. We're honest, hardworking folk who don't want no trouble, " he said. The gruff man nodded and relaxed his grip on the rifle. Immigrants from destroyed frontier villages were all too common in these parts. He suddenly caught sight of Exotl sitting in the back and tenses again.

"And whose he?" he asked.

"Just a traveller we picked up along the way. . . He's not all the way there if ya know what I mean," said Jack pointing to his head and twirling his finger. The gruff man nodded but did not take his eyes off of Exotl.

"Hello there friend, where are you from?" he asked suspiciously. One could never be too careful, what with all the bandits around, after all.

"Hello, mortal! My name is Exotl. I am from the forest," Exotl greeted. "I come to spread the teachings and glory of the God of the Soul!"

"We don't want any of that funny business, I'm warning ya. You can stay in the village so long as you don't try to push your cult or whatever . . . but if you try anything . . . Then we'll give you the boot," he said. Exotl frowned but nodded. Why were people always so skeptical about him? He needed to do something to make these people realize he really was a god worthy of their worship.
