"Gram Slash!"The Mega-Level technique moves faster than you could have predicted, severing your Mantra-Chant hardened arm just after the elbow. It collides with your pauldron a moment later, clashing with the Red Chrome Digizoid before cleavingthrough.
Through the agony as his superheated blade rends through your shoulder, then down towards a hip, you come to a stark realization. He was aiming for this the entire time.
........... I wasn't expecting that. I really wasn't expecting that. Guess Fonte helped more than expected.... he must be damn close to Gallantmon, now.
Okay, Thresh? Awesome, but for the love of God tone it down before people start trying to assassinate you for being a Megidramon waiting to happen. We're lucky it hasn't happened already.
Ya know given last arc.... I can only immagine what would happen if Verge and Thresh wound up jogressing to take on the big threat for this arc.
On the other hand if it didn't destroy the server the idea of something like a Chaosmon, Megidramon, or Milleniumon saving the day would be pretty funny.
..... non horrible examples would probably be one of the Sovs or non Megidramon great dragons but that would be less funny.
I am halfway convinced Thresh+Verge ends in Titamon or Shroudmon tho' just you know sane and not an almagation of hatred forged by Homerus to slaughter the entire world because Homerus fuckin hates Digimon developing society, ideals and 'good' and 'evil' and the other is a Kill Six Bilion Demons Cameo Demon Man of Blood Knight and al the Fire
Would be hilarious if they released a RTS digimon game in which you play as one of those super computers and command legions of digimon to conquer other servers… maybe in like 30 years?
Homerus is a Yggdrasil-tier being but it desires worlds of endless conflict so it can observe the evolution of digimon
Olympus XII has enough of that grimdark bullshit and ally with each other. They become the foundation of civilization and spread the idea of 'good' and 'evil' to the world via their actions and laws creating stability and lasting peace
Homerus fuckin HATES this and creates Titamon to slaughter the Olympus XII and return things to what it wants
Your brother for all his flaws and idiocy is a brilliant combatant. Waiting until you aimed for a decisive finishing blow so he could capitalize on a counter with his strongest move. A feat only made possible by his preternatural fighting instinct.
If not for one factor, then this move might have won him the match.
『God Bless』
The Demon-Dragon's Pendulum blade comes to a sudden halt halfway through your torso, enclosed in a prison of nigh-indestructible flesh and bone.
"What?!" Your remaining arm clamps down on the blade, then pulls it through, dragging the cyborg right into-
"Crimson!" -a fiery headbutt. The bone between Thresh's eyes cracks, your strike sending him backwards with such force that his mechanical arm tears free at the joint.
"Lion!" Your three remaining turbines erupt into fiery conflagrations, launching you into a fiery roundhouse that crashes into the stumbling cyborg's right knee. It shatters with a satisfying *crunch* fulfilling another one of your promises.
"Dance!" A hardened stump drives up into the falling dramon's forehead-
*Crack*
-flinging him back a final time, and snuffing the Hazardous Overdrive out.
You take a breath, embracing the pain that comes with and idly reach out to catch your descending arm. The cut is cauterized, but incredibly clean. It's a simple matter to place it against your stump and reattach it with a brief pulse of Meditation Cure.
"Well fought brother." With a grunt you pull the long armblade free and toss it at the glass in front of him. Thresh struggles to drag himself up onto one arm and leg, eyes half glazed over from a mixture of pain and blunt trauma. Between the damage you've dealt to him, and the degradation from his overdrive, your brother is barely able to keep conscious, much less fighting. The combined strain is simply too much on him.
In comparison your torso is already starting to mend.
"This was a good duel, and an honorable defeat. There is no shame in forfeiture."
The BlackWarGrowlmon's eyes go feral at your words, anger breathing new life into his broken frame. His struggling body shifts into a low crouch, balancing between one arm, one leg and his tail. His aura surges once more, momentarily peaking into a wild viral field that starts stripping the very skin from his bones.
You frown, preparing Satori to counter his final, desperate attack. With AVALON still active there's nothing he can really do to hurt you, however it's important to knock him out in the most efficient and least damaging way possible.
And then without so much as a whimper. The aura vanishes and your younger sibling flops around onto his back before… starting to chuckle?
"Gigigi… honorable defeat, huh?" Something flashes across the BlackWarGrowlmon's eyes. Some long-due epiphany as a series of words and concepts click within his mind.
Whereupon you're met by a blinding wave of Crimson.
"BlackWarGrowlmon Digivolve To!"
Cracks appear in the subspace around you, Malkimon's dimensions warping and buckling under a flood of server rupturing Power. Dissolving verniers spread wide, jutting outwards into a pair of ragged, colossal wings. Pendulum blades draw back, shrinking back onto the arm even as his claws expand. Legs and tail draw together, fusing into one serpentine appendage even as the ruined frame grows to encapsulate his entire body in armor.
Your creator's sub-dimension shatters, and a pulse of bloody flame throws you back against the straining barrier. MetalEtemon falls down next to you a moment later, his chrome digizoid shell glowing with excess heat.
Thresh's shining, translucent form grows and grows, rising to fifty feet, then a hundred, then surges out until it's pushing at the barrier's boundaries. A vast ocean of viral spirit, bears down upon both of you, stronger and denser than anything but the likes of Imperialdramon. MetalEtemon crashes down to a knee, and it's only the Primal Tiger's refusal to kneel that keep you upright.
It's a momentous effort, but you manage to crane your neck backwards to look up at the Demon-Dragon's new visage. And upon witnessing it wholly...
"Zeha, zehahaha! Zehahahahaha!"
Spirits below, did he have to be so dramatic about this?!
A lance of black Chrome Digizoid emerges from the Evil Dragon's chest, followed by a red-crested helmet, a pair of hefty pauldrons and a large circular shield. The newly digivolved Mega steps free, a crimson cape fluttering in the wind behind him. With that what's left of the light of evolution fades away, taking the aural Great Dragon with it.
===AN: Hehehe. Yep, people in the stands, heavyweights especially were/are currently shitting themselves. And yes, Thresh can get evens stronger from here. Immense thanks to Demenos and KnightRadiant again! Without them this would have never been possible.
Oh yes, side note. If Thresh had gone Megidramon? It would've been more along the lines of a 5X to 5.5 multiplier across the board instead. Have fun with that.

Well, there's pretty much nothing that Verge can do to win now. No matter how skillfully he fights or predicts, Thresh has pretty firmly crossed that threshold of "too strong for it to matter".
...fooooooortunately, he doesn't actually have to! Via the same precedent as getting Repulsa to evolve and thereby remove her from the tournament, Thresh's incredibly hype transformation has, uh, handed Verge the win as a side effect. A bit anti-climactic, but on the whole I kiiiinda think Thresh got a good consolation prize out of it.
I mean, in a sense, this vindicates all the bullshit he's had to deal with. Getting an S+ tier Gallantmon out of Thresh and all that is already a massive gain.
Well yeah the laughing at the honorable defeat part
We've seen Thresh react to defeat or loss, he is very bitter and resentful about it and Verge pointing out Fonte felt ashamed of herself for underestimating, thus not respecting, Vajramon alongside the Bulwark's teachings had him ponder on what honor and knighthood meant exactly and he just found his answer thus Gallantmon who in description follows his own code of justice and is willing to toss down even with the Lord he vowed himself too if it is tarnished. In X Evolution Dukemon walked up to OMEGAMON and said to his face what Yggdrasil was doing is just but being a murderous lunatic

Question about this. Does this mean this is currently the second densest mega aura he's ever sensed (Jabba was gigantic, and thus not dense), or is it because he never properly sensed the aura of mon like Duftmon and Vulcanusmon because they keep their aura contained most of the time.
