I mean it be a flex and a half but that skill isn't as needed as others. Still tho if people wanna start making omakes for it to get to that point then more power to em, just hope that rewards increase it by a decent amount each time for their sake.
As Sinduramon vanishes from the arena, you take a deep, calming breath and settle down. While the idea of fighting *Morningstar* is exciting, you shouldn't let that blind you to the immediate surroundings.
The Great Arena's massive audience are still cheering wildly, their noise surpassing the enthusiasm of even your or Vajramon's match. The Host, Sephirot, civilian and somehow the Gloaming groups are all applauding the Angemon for his victory.
Which just serves to make you want to fight Morningstar more.
Xia and Schwartz have both joined in on the praise (though your ward is far more enthusiastic) while *Boy* is looking at you in concern, while Thresh… your brother is glowering at the angel for… some reason.
With the clapping dying down, SlashAngemon rises from his seat and descends down into the arena.
"A wondrous display of skill young one!" The Blade Angel declares, only to be met by an upraised palm.
"Save it hero, I ain't interested in joining yuh Host." The Mega pauses at that, before throwing his head back and laughing.
"Ah, such a surprisingly wonderfully independent spirit! Worry not Morningstar, I merely came down to deliver a word of warning." A serious air comes over the Mega as he sends *Morningstar a hard look. "Revealing yourself like this was a bold move, and dangerous! Villains the like of Astamon will now come to seek your destruction."
"Not a problem." The Champion snorts before lazily pointing a finger skywards. "Yuh could say I'm under the protection of a higher power."
… but I thought he detested the Host's God?
"I'm not sure what you mean young angel, but rest assured I will pray to the Lord for your safety. And if need be, fight to preserve your life. Whether or not you know it right now, I'm certain you'll go on to do great things for the server!"
"No crap I will. Didya miss that I just punched out that overgrown Cockatrimon?" *Morningstar* answers and… you're certain that the angel is rolling his eyes behind that helmet. However instead of ending the conversation there, he winces before summoning forth a piece of paper. "*Ahem*, my friend's a big fan of yours. Would yuh mind-" SlashAngemon blurs before the Angemon can finish speaking, grabbing a pen from… somewhere and writing his signature across the paper in a flash.
"Is it alright if I address it to DeathMeramon? Or does he have a nickname I should use?"
"Whatever sure-huh? How'd yuh know his… nevermind. Call him ugh… *The Righteous Flame Of Justice* or something dumb like that."
Angemon lets out a small groan of annoyance as the signature finishes.
While across the arena, Astamon steeples his hands together… and smirks.
That is… concerning.

After *Morningstar* departs and SlashAngemon returns to his seat, MetalEtemon teleports back in alongside a dazzling display of pyrotechnics. For the next few moments his body, the arena, and even the sky is covered in a series of colors from red to white. And as the dozens of magical fireworks die down, The Duke raises his microphone and strikes a pose.
"There you have it ladies and gentlemon! This marks the end of The Grand Spirit Tournament's first round! I think we can all say it was a real hoot uh-huh!"
Proceeding his announcement the Chrome-clad Mega spins about on one foot as a blur, then comes out gesturing up towards the sky.
"Take a look for yourselves! Malkimon's cooked up a real nice set of matches to watch!"
Your neck cranes back to follow his hand skywards, where a dark set of brackets are projected into the air itself.
Come again?
You blink, staring at the lineup in shock.
My match with Repulsa is… tomorrow?
You take another breath, again forcing yourself to stay calm. This isn't the arrangement Malkimon told you about in your last meeting. She changed the order around, but why?
Hrm, and the matches do correlate to the first eight's numerical order. In that case… did she realize Repulsa wouldn't be able to advance another round? Or… is it something else? No matter Verge, this changes nothing regarding your preparations.
Thresh's initial grin at seeing that he'll be fighting Vajramon next, suddenly takes a sharp turn downwards. And the BlackWarGrowlmon tears his gaze away to send you a… sad look?
"You're gonna delete Repulsa tomorrow. Aren't you?" It's more of a rhetorical question (which is surprising given that it's coming from your brother) than anything else, and you find yourself holding off from answering.
Despite having no intension of personally deleting Repulsa tomorrow… if Sparks' plans works, then the match will lead to her demise. Denying his words therefore… would still feel like a deception.
"I… I get it bro, you... have to do it." The Demon-Dragon continues before you can answer. Then… turns away and exits the booth.
Xia, Schwartz and Deimos all look at the exit, then to you in confusion.
"Wait… shouldn't he hate her Sensei?" Your student finally speaks up, his brows twisted perplexedly. "Didn't she and that Vamdemon-er Count. Kidnap him and… force him to fight for them?"
"Aye." You murmur, nodding softly. "But the matter is not that simple."
===AN: Alright, first snippet for the night. Taking a break to do some stuff, will hopefully be able to get the last bit out in a couple hours at most.
I am stumped on what Verg and Sparks could possibly do in the next match that will lead to her demise. I imagine if it's anything big like steal her spirit, if they some how could pull it off, it would still need returned to the gloaming.
34th-35th Of Wood: Preparations For Final Vengeance
You look across Malkimon's gym to Sparks, matching his serious gaze with a single eye. With your joint training this evening finished, all that's left is tomorrow's spar with Vajramon, then the final preparations.
"So… seems like it's finally time for Repulsa, eh Verge?"
"Aye. Both Prancer, Agnimon…" Your hands clench into fists. "They will be avenged."
"Hehe, ya know, we've come real far in these past seven months. Although… it's probably more like a year with Flux Time." The Wisemon chuckles, interjecting some levity into the atmosphere. "Now we're some of the strongest Ults on the server. Now ain't that a surprise!"
"We have come far." You agree, as Sparks hands over the four restraining spirals. "Repulsa has bought into your scheme?"
"Yep, everythin's been ready for a bit. But… are ya sure you wanna follow through on this? We can always track her down later. Won't be long before Leopardmon declares war on the Gloaming, and if you reach Mega-"
"My vengeance has waited too long already." You interject, staring the Wisemon down. "And if our bout wasn't a fair duel, then revenge would feel… lesser." Defeating Repulsa through raw power alone would be meaningless. And Sparks' plan required that creature to believe she had the upper hand. For a short time at least.
"Alright…" The worried Wisemon nods, before leaning back in the air. "All that's left after this is Musyamon, er. Asuramon now."
"Fu's murderer is one of Luna's trusted subordinates." You note, holding back the urge to sigh. "My sister will be… displeased when we delete him."
"Eh." The Cyborg wiggles his metal hand. "I've got that covered." With that the wizard tosses you his red Time-Space stone, which you then proceed to catch between two fingers. "I'm lookin' forward to this fight. Real shame Repulsa's got that mask. Heh, I wonder what her face will be like after realizin' she's been tricked…"
"I imagine, it won't be pleasant."
Tomorrow Agnimon. Tomorrow you'll finally be free.

I doubt there will be much catharsis on Verge's end. He's just way too much stronger for it to feel like overcoming a long set goal, even when sandbagging the shit out of things. So let's get our catharsis from watching Repulsa realize how badly she's overplayed her hand.
Actually, did Verge ever explain that the reason he isn't just killing Repulsa, tournament be damned, is because he needs the prize money to pay for Frigimon's surgery?

I meant to Sparks. IIRC, it happened a while ago, but the Wisemon stormed off in anger when Verge shot down the idea of using the tournament as a way to take out Repulsa.
And then Sparks brought up the reincarnation stuff, which brought Verge on board almost immediately
It's one thing if it's a past grievance. But every second that Repulsa still exists is one that's keeping Flamemon from re-entering the cycle of reincarnation

The reasons he isn't killing Repulsa is yes cause of the money to help Frigimon, however the only mon I think comes close to knowing about all of this is Leopardmon. Verg never told Sparks on screen about it.

Are you saying that Verg declined to take her out at the tournament until he heard about the reincarnation stuff? Cause if so that is wrong, Verg knew about the reincarnation issues and we still voted to wait until after the tournament.
So I'm really wondering what the plan is to deal with her in a way that won't violate the rules of the tournament or make the gloaming go full war mode rather than sending assassins.
