@Lunaryon then in the meantime, Renu just finished the artwork for Myriad-Taylor. Pretty awesome in my opinion, you all should legitimately considering getting artwork from Renu.
So my main thought process was "Combine all four winning themes" so that way everybody wins. Regarding the lack of glasses and mask, don't worry about it- mentally, I imagined this was more for PRT/Protectorate use or something. Also glasses in combat, in a world where Shatterbird existed? Yeah, no, she probably couldn't get away with that.
Obviously the hair was non-negotiable, what are they gonna do? Blatantly ignore how its one of the few mementos she has of her beloved yet tragically departed mother? Yeah, make Changer Eidolon sad, that'll end well...
Even if for some reason we don't just go with the conveniently available artwork I spent 120+ to commission (out of a total of 5 for 650), now to start elaborating on Tay 10k and whatnot.
Basically, Tay 10k would look a lot like Myriad!Taylor- they are (kind of) the same person, just Tay 10k's outfit would be more advanced cause nanotech upgrade and also just natural "evolution" given the time gap. Oh, speaking of, she'd probably be all "Wheyfu" partially because of Omnitrix Genetic Optimization and again the time gap.
Tiffany, from the Tay 10k timeline, would look a lot like a smaller Taylor... "Smaller Taylor", pfft... but yeah, she'd basically be Little Girl Taylor. Though probably more akin to Little Girl Tay 10k, since Tay 10k would of had the Omnitrix for the entirety of Tiffany's gestation... Also, Tiffany probably would base her Hero Outfit on her mother's, sweet girl.
When it comes to Eunice, for the most part she'd probably be pretty similar to Myriad!Taylor, albeit with lightish brown hair and likely a more general feminine appearance. I feel like Vicky would likely say "its all about the clothes", Eunice Hebert likely wouldn't outright look all that different- she's just traumatized enough for already being "wrong", she's not exactly looking for a second dose. Also, she'd probably just be really excited having a body and generally less awkward about trying to be 'girly'.
Finally, in the event of Glitch being a thing, besides the obvious of being "Based on Taylor and not Ben"- would probably use the color scheme for Classic Mechamorphs. Also, Glitch is... kind of an awkward name to identify by, so her "Civilian" Name would likely be something like Delta. Besides the whole "robotic slime girl" thing, she'd probably look the most like Myriad!Taylor's current self, since she wouldn't have an innate Genetic Optimization thing going on.
The red ribbon is a symbol for Multiple Sclerosis, drunk driving prevention, drug prevention and for the fight against HIV/AIDS. The Red Ribbon Foundation, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the Canadian Multiple Sclerosis Society are examples of organizations that utilize the red ribbon symbol.
For practical reasons, it probably rips away easily when pulled, and may be a very strong material to allow for tieing up criminals(or choking them out) in a pinch.
Her hair tends to be either Brown or Black from what I can tell, and the artwork used for her on the Character Sheet shows Brown hair. Look, in general, I legit think this is pretty good- I will absolutely push for it when the time comes to vote for the Costume, so can we just skip the inevitable waiting period such would cause and decide if the artwork is good enough for Taylor's Hero Outfit?
Even if for some reason we don't just go with the conveniently available artwork I spent 120+ to commission (out of a total of 5 for 650), now to start elaborating on Tay 10k and whatnot.
It is too late for me to make any changes, and I will not & can not spend the money required to do so. I showed Lunaryon the rough draft, she really should of said something... granted, I probably should of asked if there really were no issues...
Trying to please everyone is an effort in futility.
There will always be people who don't like something about it. That's why Quests like this vote, discuss, and compromise.
[X] Plan Glorious Science
-[X][Chris] What do you want to talk to Kid Win about?
--[X] What's his specialty, you got two solid "Tinkers" and most of the others can provide amazing materials.
-[X][Kevin] What do you want to talk to Compound about?
--[X] What's his opinion on you creating "Tinkertech" specifically suited for his use?
Finally, after the circle goes around to everyone else, it finally comes to the newest member of the Wards to be.
The one calling himself Kid Win. "Uhhh..." He starts, glancing around the room, even as one hand starts to rub at the back of his head. "So... I'm Kid Win, and I'm a tinker." He says, looking a little nervously around the room at all the non-tinkers. "I..." He seems to fold in on himself even a little more.
Before he has a chance to really lose his cool, you're there besides him. "A Tinker?" You ask, making sure to look the boy in the eyes while you talk to him. All the notes on your psychology studies there in your head as you do everything you can to engage with him and make sure that he sees that you see him.
It does do a decent amount to help get him back focused into the here and now. You've got a feeling that he's... Not had the best time of things. Stupid, yeah, given how Capes become Capes, but that doesn't mean that you aren't going to do whatever you can to try and help him get by. It's just what you do.
"So,you want to come and check out my lab?" You ask the boy, and despite the clear nervousness, you can tell that he is excited.
"I..." The armored boy starts to say, and there is a moment where all that knowledge that you shoved into your brain over the last few hours contemplates trying to nudge him in such a way that he doesn't lose his nerve, but at the same time... You don't want to manipulate him.
You don't want to manipulate any of the Wards, if everything goes well, they should all hopefully become your friends, and it wouldn't be right for you to manipulate any of them. Especially not when you are just starting to form the relationship.
They deserve better than that.
But it seems that you don't even need to do anything, because despite everything, Kid Win manages to speak up on his own. Without any of the manipulations that you feared would be required. "Yeah. I'd like that." The boy says, and you grin over towards him.
"Anyone else want to check it out?" You ask. Any maybe it isn't a surprise, but none of the others are Tinkers, so it really shouldn't surprise you that none of the others are interested ei-"You know what, sure." Kevin says.
Huh... So despite all that information that you have gone and jammed into your skull, you clearly still don't know everything there is to known when it comes to understanding people. Then again, you learne3d all that from a book, and can a book really teach you everything that there is to know about how to understand people?
While there is a part of you that wants to just say yes, because that is the whole point of books - To know things - There is another part of you that has a very valid point of it's own. Even Mom used to say that there was more to life than Books, and she was an English teacher. Her job was literally books.
And that isn't even taking into account the fact that despite everything that you have read, you still are impossibly far away from knowing enough of everything to make your own Omnitrix. Or even anything just half as complicated.
Of course, there might be some amazing books out there in the greater galaxy among the worlds that you know have to exist, even if you don't know anything about them yet. That isn't to say that they would have anything that might be able to solve the questions that you are struggling with.
So for now, the best thing that you can do is stop trying to think about everything in the context of the textbooks that you have spent hours whiling away at, and instead you smile over at the two, "Alright, follow me."
Leading the two back through the halls of the Wards area and towards where your Lab is, you glance over towards Kid Win. "So," You start off. "You're a Tinker, right?" You ask rhetorically, "What kinds of things do you make?"
Kid Win is quiet for a long moment, not answer, but you can see from the way that he stands there, rubbing at an arm that he isn't 'not answering' but just trying to figure out the right way to word what it is that he wants to say.
So you give him the time and the space to try and explain himself at his own tempo. "Well, I mean, I designed and built my own armor." The boy says, motioning towards the suit that he is wearing. "On top of that, I've managed to build a pair of pistols." With each word that the boy speaks, the nervousness and the awkwardness starts to fade, as he starts talking about things that he actually knows about. "They generate an oscillating pulse wave that carries a mild electric current and-" The boy glances between you and Compound, before shutting down and glancing away.
It's clear as day that he thinks that no one would be interested in what he has to say, which is all well and good, but you actually have a question there. "I... correct me if I'm wrong," You start, getting a look from the boy. "Because I'm not the best when it comes to electrical engineering. At least not right now." You say simply, getting another odd look from the Boy. Waving him off, "I'll get a chance to show you either today after we finish our training, or tomorrow- But correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't pulses like that have some... odd flight paths?" You ask, and that makes Kid Win really perk up.
"That is true," Kid Win agrees. "The Pulse's flight paths can be a bit erratic due to the electrical resistance in the air, but that is what I have my visor for." The young man explains, grinning as he brings one hand up to tap at his visor. "When I am holding my pistols, they link into my visor, and it calculates the flight paths, making sure that I can hit what I am aiming at."
"So... What you are saying is that everything you build connects to everything else?" Compound asks, and you can see there is an odd look in the boy's eyes. He's planning something, even if you aren't entirely sure what.
Kid Win pauses for a moment, thinking about what the younger hero is asking, before he carefully nods. "I... Yeah, I hadn't really thought about it that way, but that's correct. Everything I make connects to everything else." He says, before following that up with the question that you were thinking. "Why are you asking?"
"Most of the time, when I am out on patrol, I'm teamed up with Vista." Compound starts to explain, and despite everything there is a hint of a smile on his face. "That's not a problem, the two of use work together great. But there are a handful of times when the constant space shifting that she does ends up... I'm not sure, but it messes with our radios. There is something about how everything Vista does makes it harder for the Radios to find each other... Somehow. But it can make it harder for them to connect to each other." Compound explains. "And if I am understanding this correctly, then if all of your stuff connects with each other, that might be able to counteract that problem."
Kid Win is distinctly quiet for a moment, and you can see the way that the cogs are whirling about inside of the young man's head as he contemplates the concept that Compound has suggested. "I... Hmm... You're talking about some kind of wireless communications... I've never done that with my tech..." Kid Win says, but he doesn't sound dismissive... "I... Hmm..."
At this point, Compound's face is starting to fall, before the door to your lab opens up, and the three of you step inside. Before Compound has a moment to get any more downtrodden, Kid Win carefully starts to nod. "I... I think that I'll be able to do something like that. I think." He says. "I might need to do some experimenting to make sure that everything works properly, but I think th-" The boy's words completely fall away as he looks up into the lab. "Woah."
What's even better is that Compound has the exact same reaction to seeing your lab. "Woah. "
Of course, that question that you had been asking, about what Kid Win had built had been trying to get a slight idea of what kinds of things he specializes in, and that question still hasn't really been answered.
As the two enter into the room, you hop up onto your desk, leaning back a little. "So, Kid Win," You start off, giving the boy another look. "You've built all your own stuff, right?" You ask. "So that means that you have got to have some idea what kinds of tech you specialize in is, right?"
"I..." Kid Win starts to say, the boy just wilting on the spot. "No... Not yet."
Kevin surprises you again, when he leans over and knocks his shoulder against the other boy's. "Hey, that's the point of the Wards, you know?" He offers quietly, but there is a smile on his face. Even if it is just a small one. "There's a lot about even my powers that I don't still don't know, but other than Doctor Daniels, everyone here actually cares about us, and our powers and will do everything that they can to help."
"And..." You say, "You did not hear this from me, because it's all still a little hush hush, but Dragon is making a move towards being more present here in Brockton Bay. So between her, Armsmaster and all the other doctors here in the city, we'll definitely help you get your feet under you in no time." That statement gets a very odd look, but you simply give the boy a smile and a wink. "On top of that, due to my changer abilities, we're going to have some very interesting materials floating around for everyone to use and experiment with, so that should make creating all sorts of new things really interesting."
You spend the next handful of minutes going all through the room, pointing out things here and there, what they all do and how they work, tools and devices and all sorts of things. Kid Win seems super interested in all of this, and Compound is at the very least acting interested, though you can't really understand why. He never seemed all that interested in most of these things the other times that you have seen him around the PRT HQ.
Of course, you haven't seen him in all of the headquarters yet, so it is possible that you just don't have the best grasp of his interests yet.
However, now that you are thinking about it... "Hey Compound.?" You ask, leaning over a table to slot one of the many devices back into place on the wall. "I was thinking... You're constantly working with Vista, as you said."
"Yeah..." The boy confirms, and you pause.
"Okay, I'm going to have to think about this more, but once the debut is done, I'm thinking of working with everyone to try and make some personal tech for everyone. Would you be interested?"
...And really, the look that the boy gives you when you say that makes it clear just how silly that question is. Of course he's going to want his own tinkertech. Thankfully, as you hear Miss Militia calling back from the rest of the Wards area, Kid Win is the first out the door.
Which means that there is a brief moment, just a few seconds where it is you and Kevin alone. "Kevin." You say softly, scratching at the back of your head. "I... I don't want to make you angry." You say, which already puts the boy on edge. That isn't what you'd really wanted, but there was all but no chance that this wasn't going to end up getting something like that. "One of my other forms... It can create complex chemical mixtures, pretty much any that can be imagined." You say. "Like an Anti-Psychotic that has less side effects, allowing for a higher dosage."
...Kevin goes very still when you say that, and you can tell that he is fighting with himself over what to say, before he does something that you really did not expect. Kevin scoffs, shrugging his shoulders as he turns away. "Thanks, Taylor." He says softly, "But we both know that the Doctor's aren't going to approve anything like that until it's been tested for years."
You might be a little tired, and the thoughts that you had of your mother earlier probably aren't helping, but the very first words that come out of your mouth are probably something that she wouldn't approve of. "Eh, what the Government doesn't know about, they can't complain about."
That gets an actual laugh out of the boy. "You know, maybe I was wrong about you, you aren't such a goodie two shoes. Still not taking any drugs until they are actually tested though." At least he doesn't seem to be entirely upset by what you were saying. The first thing that you notice, as you come back around to the Wards area, where everyone else is gathered around the console, is that the device looks nothing like the massive box just absolutely plastered in buttons like the last time that you looked at the thing.
In fact, in direct opposition of the monstrosity of buttons and sliders and flippers and switches and all the other things that were on the device the last time that you were here, this thing is much simpler. Far more streamlined, and actually quite nice to look at.
First is the fact that the thing is about the size of your average desk table, where if you are sitting in front of it, everything is within reach. the center of the table is set up with a screen that Miss Militia shows off as being a touch screen. The thing shows a map of Brockton Bay, and across it there are a number of glowing little dots that are moving across the screen. Each dot stays at about the size of a quarter, regardless of how much you zoom out, and they each have a number on them. The dots come in three different colors. Blue - Representing Police cars. Green - Representing PRT troopers, and White - Representing the patrolling Wards and Protectorate Members. To the direct left of the screen itself is a corded phone, and three buttons.
One marked Rig. One marked EMS, and one marked PRT.
Then on the right side, there is a second touch screen, this one showing three columns of dots. And would you look at that. The closest row is marked with white dots, and just from where you are standing, you can spot the names of Armsmaster, Battery, Triumph, and Challenger. Hitting any of the dots makes their location on the map flash, and a little box pops up naming off the two closest streets.
Finally, there is a button that is unmarked. Having hit Armsmaster's dot, she then hits the button. "Armsmaster, this is Console." Miss Militia says. "Showing the working of the new console to the Wards."
"Console, this is Armsmaster." the man's voice comes out from somewhere else on the table, but you aren't entirely sure where. "I hope you all like the new console. I don't have the slightest idea who in the world designed the horrible thing that you all had before, but this should be much better."
However, before you have a chance to hear anything more, there is an audible Boom. "...Well. Console, I'm certain that you just heard that. There was an audible explosion. That came from the North East... That's ABB territory. Get everyone else moving."
Miss Militia is quiet for a short moment, before she speaks up. "Do you want me to get out there?" She asks.
"It should be fine," You say "Miss Tara is right..." You turn to where the other adult had been laying on the couch, but she's not there. "Not... where I last saw her. Uhhh..."
Armsmaster chuckles. "There's no need. It's probably just a blown transformer or something of the sort. If things change, then I'll call it in, but for now I think that everything should be fine with just the heroes already on the streets."
Armsmaster chuckles. "There's no need. It's probably just a blown transformer or something of the sort. If things change, then I'll call it in, but for now I think that everything should be fine with just the heroes already on the streets."
It is probably still late morning to early afternoon, so I'd say odds are it is just Uber or Leet if it is someone established but there is always the wildcard option.
I don't remember if Kid Win ever gets a canon set of specialities (I'm like... six years or more removed from reading Worm and I never finished Wards) but "Tech that connects things" is.... stupidly useful.

His canon specialty, IIRC, was along the lines of modular tech, stuff that could be combined, mixed, and matched into different configurations for different situations. Which, yeah, is STUPIDLY good, and would be even more so when combined with a miniaturization/efficiency tinker.
Really, the biggest thing holding Chris back is his Discalculia and the his ADD, which both keep him from sitting down and finishing any single project and instead doing pieces of them before getting distracted.
