but Sun Jian just wasn't up for much conversation which to be fair is kind of understandable.
I think it's totally in character.I swear to you that I intended more dialogue between Thor and Sun Jian but, well, you guys probably know how characters can sometimes run around what the author originally intended.
I like this very concept, two older men sitting in a boat, talking about nothing in particular and just wasting a day to waste a day.Sounds like someone needs a few days off. Go fishing with Jack, it'll help.

Jian... I understand, but you may want to take a few steps back first and take a look at what you are intending to do. This won't bring you peace I fear.
"As you can see, it used to be lush and verdant, but then I fucked it.""You're not our Emperor anymore! We do what we want, screw you!"

They were kinda dicks in the show.
That would, admittedly, be rather similar to going 'the Nazi party committing all kinds of atrocities means we shall now kill all the Germans. Yep, every one of them'-sure, the leadership might be irredeemable and should be executed ASAP, but not every citizen participated evenly-some may have been legitimately entirely oblivious.I don't know if you can generalize an entire race based on what their government decided to do.
Either way, it was a decision that was way over the line of authority for a group that shouldn't have authorized it.
Well, we know they are willing to lie if only to outsiders, so it's not like they are 'evil, but with a peerless code of, if not honor, at least honesty', so yeah. I'd expect rather a lot of suppression of information. At which point even a lot of those involved in making the tools of atrocity may be badly misinformed about what they are actually for etc.Could you put it past a government willing to do what the Aschen did as a faction to be willing to lie to their own citizenry and suppress anyone who questions things?
