And really, the most important question is this: can either of them take down Malenia without causing Caelid 2.0 by making her desperate?

Zeref would love having done that, also hate it, would depend on his mood.

Pretty sure it would go right past 2.0 and to 3.0 by the way, she did bloom once more time between the two instances, I'm sure that counts for something.

The real question is could they survive Caelid 3.0 because if not i see that as a absolute victory for Malenia

I was going trough Malenia's lore and i have a question will Finlay appear at some point in the quest?

took me the first reply of the first chapter to realize this is a new Naron quest. i was like "nice, this quest got the same vibe as Souls Betwixt but Elden Ring!", then i scrolled down and i saw "Naron said:".

I had to double-check who that was, too many characters in the game to keep all the names straight. As much as I would like to do something with that, Finlay was already long dead by the time this event here happens. I do not see a way to justify her appearance at this moment.

Maybe that will change later, but it is highly unlikely.

Once Erza meets Malenia, she's gonna wince at the latter's body being affected by Scarlet Rot and that she has prosthetic arm and also permanently blind.

Malenia would still beat Erza three times to sunday
Speaking of which, I think Malenia would probably sense Dragon ancestry from Erza, whose mother is Irene Belserion, a former human-turned-Dragon, and there is no way the fetus within Dragon Irene's womb wouldn't absorb some power from the mother for over 400 years until the ex-Dragnof queen met Zeref and he gave her a human shape, allowing Irene to give birth and left Erza at Rosemary Village orphanage after stopping herself from going through the possession attempt.

Isn't it too soon to discuss that? We've not even met any member of Fairy tail yet, for all we know Malenia will completely ignore them or not remark on anything about them, it's not like *having a dragon as ancestor* seems that strange when you remember that her parent were allied with Dragons.

We're not even on the right continent right now, we're on an island, sure, one Natsu will visit soon, but we don't know if we are going to join his guild, or if Malenia would even want to. (I personally don't want to, too cliche.)

True but you know Fairy Tail would insist for Malenia to stay as a guest and do what they do best of befriending her, believing she has a tragic backstory like themselves and deserved a place to call family.

To which she is very likely to answer with silence and not caring.

She is very faithful to her brother, and has spent her whole life (the probably several centuries to millennia of it) living with the rot, she is not that interested in getting friends.

They can try, I doubt they'd get far.

"I once waged war for my brother, then I accidentally unleashed a bioweapon when the enemy general was too strong to beat with just my sword."

Makarov, currently engraving Malenia's name in a chair and preparing a guild mark stamp: "Don't worry, you will fit right in. Here, have you met Elfman yet?"

:V

Anyway, all jokes aside, Malenia's development lies in player hands. She will never become a queen bee who hugs every stranger she meets in greeting, but it is definitely possible for her to open up over time. As is, she does certainly not care much for others. The next update will give everyone a good idea of her current state of mind.

Already watched it. You are correct. Though she did not, as you said, 'spread her blood as far as possible'. I doubt she meant to trigger the apocalypse in Caelid, but she definitely meant to use the Rot.

This trailer also made me realise that they could easily make an entire anime season of just The Shattering. The Night of Black Knives, the battle for Leyndell and engagements on Mt. Gelmir, Malenia's battle with Radahn and subsequent blossoming. Those would be great to see animated

That is admittedly true of quite a lot of From soft's backstories.

Gwyn's fight against the dragon.

Artorias' life, all of it.

Bloodbrone already has a comic book, I'm sure you could do an anime.

Sekiro and the war in the backstory, Isshin at his height. Sekiro's training too.

Dark souls three probably could do things with the lords of cinders....

Malenia's undefeated march could be movie on its own same white the battle of Aeonia
Or Finlay's journey back to the Haligtree
