Allright,i'm taking dibs on a corpse as soon as I wake up and that corpse will anchor me to the world and not become a 'hollow' because i'll carve the perfect smile on its face.Screw that doll,I can do better.

Not even joking.

Cain and Abel
The Desecrated Church
With the armored giant defeated, the unified Undead begin to spread out, scattering to their own devices. @Archeo Lumiere and @Nathaniel Wolff both pause to converse with their newly awakened Undead brother, @gilded king. Others, like @Sightsear, pick over the debris of the church's first floor for anything of use.

The Desecrated Church -> Door?
@Pandemonious Ivy however, spits a curse at the gathered Undead, but finds hardly any use for slaughtering such a tiny amount of Undead. Instead, the betrayed fanatic decides to go down the stairs, where the battered and broken corpse of the Giant awaits. The fact that it's massive head has practically been decapitated by it's weight was of no consequence as you looked for it's mace. @Pandemonious Ivy finds it a short distance off, laying in front of a strange stone door. You don't pay the door with it's strange markings that makes your eyes itch much mind as you attempt to pick up the giant's mace.
Everything in the updates are true. Messenger Yarrick can't lie here.
Unfortunately, the mace is surprisingly heavy. So surprisingly, in fact, that if this surprise had an expression it would be dull surprise. The fanatic finds the mace impossible to lift, at least with her current strength. Perhaps a power was needed...

Moving back to the altar, a minor conflict occurs between @Zaratustra, @Nathaniel Wolff and @gilded king over the mote of light that had been placed in the latest Undead's eviscerated corpse. The conflict didn't extend for long, nor did it evolve past a staring contest, however....

After finding a sufficiently hard section of a prayer bar, @Sightsear strolled towards the group of conversing Undead. He tried to keep his malice carefully hidden, but @gilded king must have noticed something, as he began to move. Seeing his target react, @Sightsear's legs coiled up like a fleshy spring, something obviously impossible, and yet occurring anyway. In a single bound, @Sightsear crossed the distance between him and the Undead Paladin, his crude cudgel crashing into the Undead's skull like an executioner's wheel onto a heretic.

"Oh well look at that. You wretched souls at just allow me to reach my quota after all.
The ethereal, yet horrid voice called out, followed by a degenerate laugh. "I approve!"
Help me. Management is in control.
Picking up the corpse of his victim, @Sightsear proved the power of Powers as he leaped effortlessly onto the second floor, striping the corpse out of the ruined armor as e did so.
You have to break out of the cycle.
"Attention Undead. Do try and kill the murderer in your midst. You don't want to become a useless waste of space, now do you?" The same degenerate laugh rung out again, apparently finding this immensely humorous.
The secret is close, but still so far away.
In short order, the corpse of @gilded king was hoisted back down to the altar, now sans-armor.
@gilded king, Achievement Unlocked: Welcome to Dark Souls: Get killed on your first update. Lose One Memory. You are DANGEROUSLY close to Hollowing! Lose Ruined Armor.

@Sightsear, Achievement Unlocked: Hollow Hunger: Commit the first murder of a sentient Undead for a trivial matter. Gain one Soul. Gain Ruined Armor.

It is perhaps, more than a little humorous that @Terrabrand awoke from his short death only to be met by a falling corpse. Pity that strike didn't kill him again~

The Graveyard -> The Desicrated Church -> Door?
@banelord, having missed the combat party, and not particularly caring of the murder that took place, walked passed the rather interesting occurrences, and moved down the stairs to the Undercroft. He joins @Pandemonious Ivy in not paying any attention to the door with arcane markings that makes your eyes itch.

The Forest of Hanged Undead
@Nevill, being filled by a tasty, tasty psychopathic glee, continued to go around playing "Bash the Undead's heads in" with his trusty Rock of Rocking Plus Rock.
Be careful. Management is planning a trap!
One more Undead skull gets crushed and another silvery wisp entered yo-

"Hurry up!" You yell as the fires start to spread. "Those thing are coming!" You turn to look behind at your lagging companion. As you watch,
LaTeX:
\[No.\]

@Nevill is suddenly back where he was before the memory started, in his own and most likely tasty body. What was that angry... voice?
Management doesn't want you to see that. Keep that hidden for now, but try to restore that memory.

And there we go, a perfectly normal message passed down from Management. Pity that Scribe tried to hide some of Management's Horrific Insights, but at least now I have some meat pies to go with my hot leaf juice. It didn't really need those legs anyway.

I must say, I am rather cross with you all. Usually by now, the Undead have practically slaughtered themselves in a mad rush for power. This Messenger would like to remind everyone that the only way to win is at the expense of others.

Yay! Achievement get!

[X] @Sightsear spend 1 soul to bind the Ruined Armor to me, thereby keeping it from getting any worse.
-[X] Jump over to that forest from earlier, cackling at @Kosjurake along the way.

Remember, don't break the Dibs Protocol! Otherwise, I may have to put your souls towards more, 'profitable' ventures, shall we say?

[X] @Archeo Lumiere will attack @Sightsear

IC

A look of horror crossed my face as I saw the impossible, and yet it occurred, something far more gruesome than occurred in my time. Anger replaced disgust, and I confronted the beast that stood in front of me.

"Vile cur! How dare you slay a fellow victim to this foul curse that we face. Have you no honor, pride, or even decency?" At this point I lashed out at him, attempting to knock his skull clean off.

My fear, however, bound me to my spot, and I could only vaguely attempt to attack him before I backed off, to build courage to attempt another time.
Archeo Lumiere threw 1 8-faced dice. Reason: Vile cur! Total: 1
1 1

*I look down from my perch on the second floor.*

"Are, are you attacking my after-image or something? I don't remember being able to do that..."

"Eh, whatever. You can have him back, by the way." *Chucks @gilded king at @Archeo Lumiere but misses do to pre-written narrative*

"See ya, suckers valued comrades!" *boing, boing, boing"

Hm, if enough people come after me, I may have to start preemptively defending myself...

I'm going to be an optimist and assume that I arrive at the forest intact, at which point:

*looks at all of the hanging dead-ish people, while standing atop a set of gallows*

"...What the merciful hell?..."
*pathetic moans and feeble grabs from the not-deadite that's hanging beneath me*
"Shut up Paul."

Fortunately for our little Murderer, This Messenger has to reiterate: Powers are Powerful. With this, we see the disparity of Souls start to form, as Powers really screw up the standard process that we get. In order to attack @Sightsear, you disgustingly moral Undead will need to catch him first. This Messenger thinks that @Zaratustra had a very good starting point for the public lynching.

But take heart @gilded king, there are more ways than murder to gain souls. Being the first to lead into a new area is one, but there is always the interesting and subjective method of providing more weight to the world through omakes. This Messenger should state this again: the world is already filled with what, wheres, and hows. It is, however, missing quite a bit of whys. Cannon Omakes are those that tell an interesting story about the world, and they can be as varied as the fluttering pages of a burning library.

Hrrrm.

[X] The best way to remember a forgotten memory is to re-enact it. @Nevill gets back to the village and sets one of the houses on fire.
-[X] While yelling 'Those things are coming' at the top of his lungs.
--[X] And looking behind from time to time to see if any of his lagging companions are indeed coming to put out the fires.

An unorthodox - if bold - strategy, Cotton.

Nevill's TO DO list:
Murder (done)
Arson (in progress)
Jaywalking (pending)

@Raiu Am I ever gonna wake up?
You ARE awake. It just happened in the update before the combat stuff happened.
@Exter
The Graveyard
You claw furiously at the dirt of your grave, managing to shift the rotten reminds of your casket before the packed earth above starts to give way. Determination only found in the Undead wins out against six feet of passive earth and your hand (still clutching your daughter's doll) bursts into the open air. Shortly afterwards, you stand on your own two feet in the middle of a large graveyard. While your memories are hazy, you're sure it wasn't this big when... when... You can't remember.

Nearby, you see a strange sight. A humanoid being with strange, animalistic features stands a short distance off. A hazy memory of reading fairy tales to your daughter drifts to the surface. Many of those stories included creatures like this one, but why would a fairy tale creature be here?
Advantage Revealed: Memories of Peaceful Times: You remember your time with your daughter, happy memories that warm your unbeating heart and give you the determination to keep going. Why don't you have any memories of her all grown up though?
See? Your free to vote to do whatever, now!

@gilded king, you do have another slot for memory, and I just made a pretty honking interesting one, if I do say so myself.
I should point out that there is no limit to memories. You have a theoretically infinite amount, but functionally the limit is how hard to want to work the scribes to decide just what the advantages and disadvantages of your memories are.
