Cultivating in the ultimate Wuxia world (applications Closed)

Your characters don't know this, but these changes are being caused by 3 Qi refiners which are real people in another thread I'm directing, they are free to affect the world in almost any way but are not allowed to outright kill you guys, but they can grant you boons, trials and much more
ya'll know that we'll be making stuff as you play right?

As causality said, the Qi refiners (3 players in another thread) are changing the world as we go, so yes, the merchant kingdom of Priam, is the only one with access to the sea, that's not changing (except for maybe wars and super late game shenanigans) and they have the supertree, because the Qi refiner of that kingdom decided to make a cultivation tree.
The QI refiner of Luvinia, decided to make a super basic sect, that is neutral element-wise, and the Qi Refiner in Leafate decided to make an earth cultivation site, but the cultivation resources are gonna change wildly as the game progresses so unless you want something very specific, pick the kingdom by what the kingdom is like not the cultivation resources, they will all be mostly equivalent just differently themed
If you do have something very specific in mind do let me know and I will talk with the Qi refiners and see if it's possible
@Varder @Easter

I will say in my current plan for leafate does have me making a water, air, and fire sites relatively soon(2-5 turns on our side). However Im pretty sure the person from luvina has set up there character to create more sites around there kingdom. not sure what the person in Priam is really doing though.

And yes there is a royal family, my character kinda works for them :p.

So yea pick the kingdom you want based on whats it like and whats it has access to (ocean, forests,Mountains) then the current cultivation stuff, since that will be changing and added to.

True true, also maybe I should switch to Priam since an Isolated research focused nation probably is likely to see less action compared to a sea based merchant kingdom. Which for a combat focus background can be important I imagine.

yea leafate is the least likely of the kingdoms to get involved in a war/conflict. (Its to tough to attack with all its defensive forts, and it doesn't have a desire/need to expand past them)

Name: Jaelyn Barlow
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Background: Ranger
Family: none
How you look:
Personality: Several years in the forest away from human contact has made her taciturn and quiet. Time spent on learning best hunting spots, animal migration routes and other different landmarks (as well as turning that knowledge into successful hunts) has given Jaelyn patience and cunning that are common to all good hunters. And an unfortunate encounter with her, now dead, squad commander has left her distrustful, suspicious and detached.

And whatever you feel I should know about your character:
She enrolled into Luvinia's military, served there as a scout and, when her commander tried to force himself on her, killed him and ran away. She's lived in a forest ever since.
Chosen Kingdom: Luvinia

Theres no raids or anything on these forts? Cause raids would probably still work for fighting in my mind.

its still mediveal technology. So there is probably bandits from other kingdoms and stuff. Its just out of the three kingdoms the least likely to start a war is leafate. So most of the combat would be against bandits and wild animals.
Leafate is the most modern of the kingdoms in terms of society, they have police and everything(instead of nobles having personal levis to protect there lands the kingdom has proper police force to enforce the law, So Nobles don't have any military/levi). (the reason the have such an advanced society is the ruins all around leafate couldn't have any advanced technology however they can have artifacts, martials skills, and Societal innovations) (kingdoms societies from my understanding, leafate = Modern-ish society(with nobility) with medieval tech, Praim = Fantasy merchant kingdom, Luvinia = Monk religious kingdom)

So if your in the military you've probably fought bandits and outlaws from other kingdoms(bandits and outlaws could occasionally be probing strikes form other kingdoms but i cant decide that), and any threat the police cant handle for some reason.

(The main reason leafate wouldn't be an aggressor in a war besides not having any reason, is because of the fortifications built up along the border they have army big enough to defend the kingdom and do small attacks outside of it if necessary. However if they go to war with another kingdom and actually send a big enough army to properly attack they couldn't defend all the fortifications properly).

@Varder cool character and pic, question, you want to have the stats of the soldier background but not the job and description, right? if so that is okay, but you will need to spend one action each turn gathering supplies/hunting/etc basically the same as the soldier working by with a different feel
@Easter if you want to be in the middle of fighting you will either need to cultivate a lot and make it stupid not to put you in the fights or pick the soldier background.
if you want to direct fights as a commander I can arrange for you to fight some bandits and empowered animals.
And cultivation sites are very likely to be violent places

Oh I don't expect my guy to be fighting himself(unless he has to), I just figured that my guy would have to lead battles to earn stuff from his job. If thats not the case than I don't mind my guy chilling out leading a border fort, or wherever you want to put my guy, while dealing with the occasional bandits and cultivation dangers everyone else deals. Plus I imagine that some sort of conflict will arise as cultivation starts to actually be found and taught which will have my guy dealing with enemies later.

Name: Logan Willams
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Background: Royal Tutor, He earned this position due to his cunning and knowledge of scholarly matters.
Family: Younger Sister and Younger Brother, Their parents died to bandits.
How you look: Logan looks like a handsome young man with pale skin and black hair. And has blood red eyes that shine with inhuman intelligence. Due to this, His friends jokingly call him a "Vampire".
Personalilty: A arrogant person with a polite demeanor who seems like the ideal gentleman. This of course is a lie to get people to lower their guard to further his own goals. The arrogant part is true though. He however has a soft spot for family and spoils his siblings.
Chosen Kingdom: Luvinia

Name: Phrone Ansea
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Background: Noble, Phrone is the second child of a renowned noble family.
Family: Father(Head of family) , mother, eldest brother, Phrone, younger brother, even younger twin sisters.

How you look:

Personality: Phrone is a shrewd and cunning woman, albeit being a bit introverted. She comes off as cold to most people and lacks true friends. She is well known for her observation skills and her genius in economics. She does not want to become the next head of the family, as she wishes to travel the world in the future.

Chosen Kingdom: Priam

Name: Roy Azura

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Background: Artisan - You only have to work every other turn, but will be poor if you do. +1 Mind, +1 Body

Family: The Azura family is renowned for producing the finest craftsmen in the kingdom. Bowyers, blacksmiths, whitesmiths, armorers, glassblowers, and many more fill the family's ranks. Each branch of the family tends to focus on one trade, but it's not at all uncommon for children to find interest in mediums separate from their parents.

How you look: I don't know how to link images, but look up Yoh Asakura aged up

Personality: Roy prefers to take life slowly. He likes to take his time to think and reflect on life, and really relax. Most people just call him lazy. Roy would tend to agree. But the one thing able to bring him out of his general stupor of a life is the inspiration to create. He may spend 3 days just reading half a book and sleeping, then spend the next 3 painting an entire mural, then follow that with 3 days taking walks in the city. In terms of his interpersonal skills, Roy has a general magnetism to him that makes him hard to hate. He enjoys being in the presence of people, but doesn't tend to contribute much to social interactions.

And whatever you feel I should know about your character: Roy has been heralded as one of the top talents of his generation, especially in his ability to convey intense, conplex emotions through his art. While he tends to favor glassblowing as his main medium, he's well versed in a wide range of crafts.

Chosen Kingdom: Leafate

2: Priam
2: Luvinia

1: whatever

So yeah we have enough players now so its up to @LazyHedonist to decide what to do next.
Oh yea @Gintarazimu You'll probably be in leafate since that was the only kingdom that didn't have 2 votes for it.

@A Bunch Of Atoms sorry but I can't allow you to be part of the royal family (it's simply way too strong of a start), if you want to, you can pick noble, and have a lot of the same benefits, or pick/make a different one.

Stat Rolls
Yeah I wanted to wait, a week to give everyone a chance to get in, but I'm too excited to start this up soo let's get going
Now for stats, since I don't know how to make this look pretty or anything I will make this post and then edit it to add the dice rolls, then I will give you guys your 3 stats that you can assign however you wish, but I remind you one last time, IF YOU WANT TO CULTIVATE SOUL IS REALLY IMPORTANT.

@Varder: Jaelyn 10, 14, 11

@Gintarazimu: Roy 10, 11, 15

let me know if I messed up the math in someplace (rolled 4d6 for each stat and dropped the lowest), and remember that you can improve your stats with hard work and that the lower it is, the easier it is to train it (except soul for that you will need a natural 95 or help from the Qi Refiners), and that you can place them however you please, they are not forced to go to a stats according to the order they were rolled

Well that went well for me, hopefully I didn't just spend all my luck at once though.
I guess for my distribution I'll go with
Body:13
Soul:18
Mind:18
Soul is obviously massively important and as a general my guys mind is more important than his physical ability.
