[X] Plan: Gallifrey-Lite
-[X] Tier 25. +15 Special Points.
-[X] Time. -12 Special Points.
-[X] Four Tier 5 moons. - 2 Special Points.
-[X] Ruin-nation. The surface is littered with hundreds if not thousands of Ruins, whose mindless denizens seem to be waging an eternal war against each other. Untold riches are ready and waiting to be claimed. -3 Special Points.
-[X] Good Feeling. The other Seekers all seem thrilled about the rifts on this world. An auspicious sign in indeed. Perhaps something... unique, can be found when they are studied in detail. -3 Special Points.
-[X] Old Secrets. An starship of gargantuan size had crashed into the surface in ages past, outputting vast amounts of mana to this very day. How, the scouts do not know. A mighty prize if its secrets can be uncovered. -3 Special Points.
-[X] Super-Planet. The discovered world has a far greater mass than usual, resulting in a far greater Essence Core. This planet can sustain a vastly greater rift count and thus generate extreme wealth. However, mortals cannot live in such an environment. -2 Special Points.

Needless Meddling
Needless Meddling

The next few months were an incredibly busy time as the entire regional exploration community worked hand in hand with the myriad powers that be to handle the logistics for what came next. Interest groups, Bloodline Clans and emerging Packs emerged from distant corners of the Monster Collective, sniffing around inquisitively, eager to grab a slice of the meal for themselves.

Anyone who was anyone wanted to get a paw in the door for themselves or a relative.

The position of Herdsman became the subject of much debate, enough that a decision had to be made fast. Settling a new world was always a logistical challenge at the best of times and with so much pressure and attention focused on the new discovery made the current environment anything but conducive to sound decision making.

A new Herdsman had to be raised and raised now.

Director Kali'Vern grumbled silently as he walked through bustling halls, staff scurrying around with exasperated or annoyed expressions. His people weren't dealing with the sudden pressure with perfect composure but he didn't blame them.

The next idiot who barged in trying to throw their weight around was getting the horns, regardless of the consequences. It was because of that endless stream of morons that this impromptu committee was being formed to select the new Herdsman, without the appropriate considerations.

This should have been a thorough examination of all duly qualified aspirants, with decades to gather all required intelligence and a good century of two of deliberation, to ensure that the office would be upheld to the highest possible standards. The citizens of the Monster Collective deserved to be served and lead by the best.

Instead they got this- a quickly thrown together hodgepodge of decision makers gathering to throw somebody into the position, just to streamline and concentrate authority regarding the new system and cut away all the gunk.

Maybe it was time to hand in his resignation sometime soon? Barely three thousand years in and this job was turning into more of a hassle than he could stomach.

Kali'Vern reached a heavy Tier 30 door and shuffled inside the conference room, taking a seat with a sigh, nodding deeply to Shepherd Rastistic. As they were in her Territory, the furry old gal had one of the most influential voices in the upcoming discussion.

"Quite the pickle we've got ourselves in." Muttered Drake the Drake- whose Bond must have been the most unimaginative woman he'd ever heard of. Who does that, honestly?- throwing a perfectly manicured talon his way. As the beast in charge of all Military operations in the Territory their opinion would also hold more than a fair share of weight.

"Maybe if people stuck to their lanes and stopped being such complete-" Kali'Vern quickly took the opportunity to grumble but was cut of by Sasha's snort. The Ibex refocused on her, noting that the Velociraptor had seemingly eschewed the new fashion in the Monster Collective. Instead of a form melding their Beast nature and a humanoid frame, the woman appeared entirely human aside from her predatory eyes. As a Central treasurer who would handle allocating funding towards the initial Colonization efforts, her say was also of vital importance.

"Aspected worlds are rare to begin with. A Time Aspect world of this size and Tier? It's utterly unique, and promises to open up a lot of door regarding Bloodline and Mana Aspecting." Sasha responded primly, his eyes unerringly locked with Kali'Vern's own. "Such interest is well within expectations."

The Ibex clacked his tongue in disagreement but let the matter drop. Just because people were interested, didn't give them the right to interfere and throw their weight around. In the interest of not challenging the beast who had final say over his departments budget however, he let the matter drop.

They waited for a dozen more minor officials to arrive before the monkey in the room stood up and clapped her hands. Silence fell and the assembled leadership lowered their heads to the Tier 46 in deference.

"I know this isn't usually how we like to go about things, but needs must." Rastistic began, her tone gentle and warm. "People are understandably excited about this and want to have a bit of a poke around, which I know is hampering the process somewhat. In light of that we're gathered here to elect an suitable beast to the position of Herdsman."

Kali'Vern blinked several times as a wave of awkward looks briefly passed around the table, mentally crossing out two thirds of his candidates at the rather blunt decree. He'd expected it, but to hear it so blatantly...

Not a mountain he was interested in scaling the Director decided quietly.

"Are there any other requirements that need to be met." Drake coughed, lightly poking.

"Nothing beyond what I've already said." Rastistic smiled at the Drake in a motherly fashion.

With that out of the way they all accelerated their perception to Tier 35, matching the military officer and began long, long hours of discussion and argument.

Kali'Vern was going determined to get a qualified Beast accepted, even if he needed to beat his hooves into skulls to ensure it.

Votes will be in plan form. Specific Cultivation will be sprinkled among several other updates. This vote is primarily background and species. With that said, you have a Total of 20 Character Points to allocate, spread across all these choices. Feel free to splurge or be conservative as much as you like, nothing will be wasted, even leftover points when the process is done.

[ ] Name: Write in. Feel free to be a little wild or inventive. I will intervene if it crosses into stupid however.

[ ] Sex: Write in. No funny business here either, Immortals can freely morph their bodies to the desired form and appearance. Assume that's already taken place.

Background: Choose ONE.

[ ] Bloodline- Influence: The chosen candidate is from a notably powerful Bloodline, who have used their vast influence to gift a chosen family member a powerful prize. 4 Character Points.
- [ ] Write in, subject to GM decision.
-[ ] Unicorn: -4 Character Points.
-[ ] Thunderbird: - 6 Character Points.
-[ ] Dragon: -8 Character Points.

[ ] Bloodline- Promise: The chosen candidate is from a niche Bloodline that may synergise well with the newly discovered world and has been selected for the potential promise they embody. Results are expected, sooner rather than later, or the decision may be called into question. 1 Character Point.
-[ ] Write in, subject to approval.
-[ ] Sidewinder Snake: - 2
-[ ] Pinprick Hedgehog: - 2
-[ ] Bronze Salmon: - 2
-[ ] Shining Hare: - 3

[ ] Military Veteran: This candidate has recently left the Military after a notable career in service to the Monster Collective. They have cashed in their accumulated Service Merit for consideration. 1 Character Point.
-[ ] Peak Elite: Two thousand years as near the tip of the claw has forged this individual into a weapon. They have carried many battlefields to victory by their very presence, bringing honour and glory to the Monster Collective. 3 Character Points.
-[ ] Divisive Icon: For thousands of years did they bring death and destruction to the Federation, emerging to kill before sweeping away into the night to avoid retaliation. They never truly joined the Monster Collective military, entering seclusion once they had secured Independence. Freedom fighter, Terrorist, Monster, Hero. 6 Character Points.
-[ ] Old One: A hundred thousand years can pass in the blink of the eye. They served the Federation with quiet dedication, ensuring their personal safety. When the Realm fell on the Federation, they fought the Realm without hesitation. However, when the flickering flames of Independence grew and the nascent Monster Collective began to form, they did not pause for a second, siding with their kin. 5 Character Points.
–- [ ] Write in Species. Keep it basic, or pay the ask before posting and be prepared to pay additional Points.

I like the idea of a timey wimey snakeperson that's constantly changing. Their face, their gender, eventually their position in the timeline...

@Ragnar Does this plan cost 5 points or 7? I'm not sure if the subvotes add to the cost or replace it.

Unfortunately it's none viable. The background is all one section. IE, the recruit is being chosen either because they are from an influential bloodline OR a bloodline they think could benefit from the enviroment and experience some much needed growth OR an Individual who has significant social cachet and can thus stick their nose into the proceedings.

You should specify that in the post then, because as it stands, it looks like you can pick as much as you want to spend points on.

Fixed it. Does it cost 2 or 3 points now?

--- [X] Ocean quahog

I was undecided about what species to pick when i came across the Wikipedia artical for Ming, that 507 years old ocean quahog that was killed in the process of determening it's age. If anything screems "I dont want to have anything to do with humans" than it's that story, lol

Edit: Hey @Ragnar is the species fine for free? because it's technically one we have one earth, but it might also be one of the species in earth most connected with concepts like longevity and defense

I think @Ragnar mentioned we could only pick one background option?

I think @Ragnar mentioned we could only pick one background option?
I mean, if they, @Ragnar , said so then i think I can still remove the "Peak Elite" part without damaging the integrity of the concept, but nothing here read to me in a way that would suggest that two sub options in one background aren't possible, if anything the sub options in the military veteran background seemed likes they have some synergy and were building on top of each other

They all give different timeframes our character has been active tho? Peak Elite says we've only been around for a couple thousand, Divisive icon has been around for vaguely longer(may a few to a few dozen millenia?), and Old One is an ancient monster who sleeps through eons.
