There is no reason to add the cowardly Tau into this story so please don't suggest it because there is literally no reason for them to exist in 40K let alone this story.
This story is heretical enough with Necrons being the focus adding even more FUCKING XENOS would probably ruin it a bit as well.

...they are talking about a Dawn of War trailer you know...not the story.

... Hokay then... guy's in a necrontech tinker fic and freaks out like a friggin inquisitor. *edges away from clearly unsettled individual*

But How? We know what type of person Piggot is, and she isn't someone who will just let a tinker like that stay mostly independent. If Taylor was especially charismatic or adept at manipulation and persuasion I could see her convincing Piggot to back off but at this point in time Taylor is very much not those things, so how is Taylor going to get Piggot to not only let her stay mostly independent but do so while remaining on good terms with the PRT?. Unless of course RCB tells Piggot to back off and let 'Loom' have free reign per instruction from 'Tessa, which I could see happening, depending on what approach Cauldron are going to take towards Tay.

I can't say much on this, mostly because it would give away too much of the upcoming plot. I've thought long and hard to try and give you an answer that doesn't, but each time I've sat down to try and write it out, I haven't been able to get something down that I feel would satisfy your concerns.

All I can ask is that you be patient, and wait for the next part. I'm working really hard to make sure that it's ironed out, to prevent any mistakes or misconceptions. I've already had to change a massive aspect of it going forward since it no longer fits with my long-term vision of the story.

That reminds me of a thought I had earlier while at work, for the 40k fans out there, does Necros Technology have some form of post/pre-cog blocker? Or any form of psychic/thinker blocker? (It would be amusing if Tay completely no-sells Lisa) I don't know whether anyone has mentioned it yet, but what about Ziz? Surely Tay's scarab tech will eventually get her attention, which made me think of a logic problem.

The only thing I can see messing with Pre/Post-Cog is the Time-Splinter Cloak. And that's because the Cloak is literally made up of thousands upon thousands of solidified moments in time, literally solid, crystallized Time, in the shape of a cloak. As such, wearing it makes someone look like a massive 20-lane traffic jam pile up of past and future possibilities, causing most Pre-Cog/Post-Cog Tinkers to have an blue-screen of death from too much data.

BTW is Taylor power shard based or like Memories of Iron and ACP and tossed into her head by something else?
Also is Taylor going to be able to modify the aesthetics of her tech or is it hardwired to look like Pure Necros tech? Because looking at the 40k Lexicanum the Necros look effing badass but no way will anyone look at that and think 'Heroic'. :p

Once again, this is heavily plot-related, so I can't really say.

As for modifying her Tech? Totally. She's already gone free-form with her staff and matter system.

Goddamn that be some eldar wank right there.

The Marines got stomped.

That does not make me feel confidant.

That, and the Marines looked funky. By the Emperor, is it just me or do the Marines in the video have legs like giraffe?

Anyways, yes.

The video shows the Marines getting walked over like nothing, Orks are portrayed as a literal tide of greenskins pouring over a cliff and just outright stomping Space Marines without any contest what-so-ever, and Eldar just come in at the end and are like "Bitches, this is our Trailer."

Then the Imperial Knight Bros are like, "hell with that noise!"

Followed by one getting cut in half and the other freaking sword-chainsaw-tackling the Wraith Knight.

I think that the part where a goddamn gretchin came within a foot of a spacemarine and wasn't instantly killed was annoying. Also the Space Marine's limbs were all wrong. They were way way to thin. And come on a regular ork being able to rip off a space marine's arm one handed? Maybe a warboss or one of the bigger nobs but not just a regular ork. Seeing the imperial knights was nice though.

To be fair, I always thought the super-thick stubby marine limbs was a legacy of tabletop and casting, where they needed to be that thick.

These marines seem to be more realistic in their armour, for better or worse.

Although those legs could use a bit more.

It's a first trailer though, so let's reserve judgement till the necrons show up.

The trailer kinda had this dreamy surreal aspect to me, so I'm willing to look past some of the weirder stuff like the Ork wave.

I did like how Wraithbone actually looked like bone though, gave the Eldar a nice alien feel they didn't have before.

Starting to get a little off-topic.

So Taylor is a Tinker with access to Necrontyr End-of-Tech-Tree stuff. What potential shenanigans do you guys think might come, once the whole "Piggot and Armsmaster are freaking out about Taylor's potential" arc has ended?

Will she be a feature at Endbringer fights, or will she find alternative means of assistance for them? I can't imagine that someone like Taylor, with a fixation on heroics and the capabilities to back that fixation up, wouldn't get involved in them.

Except the Necrons aren't showing up here. They said three factions, Space Marine, Ork and Craftworld Eldar.

Likely they'll add races via expansions as with the previous DoW titles but for this first installment we have just those three.

"Sorry Director Piggot, but I can't take on any new contracts right now, I need to go to *insert star safely outside of nova range of Earth* to siphon some stellar matter for my new project!"

Even if a star went nova, unless its a super one then it really wont matter.

Inverse Square law, in addition the distances make timescale kind of irrelevant as a concern.

Could siphon from a white dwarf and sidestep the nova issue entirely.

You know, there was once nice lady called "String Theory"? She held Moon hostage.
If you can siphon stellar matter from far-away star, you can hold anything in Solar system hostage.

Or original joke was just about scale on witch Taylor works.

Due to some of Necron aestetics. i was looking in possible Egyptean-origin cape names...
If Taylor von Neumann some scarab swarms, one of fitting possibilities is Khepri...
