[X] Hurdy-gurdy

In the City, hundreds of potential men are killed before they can fully become their greatest selves. Phillip was shot in the knees by a clown as his raging insecurity actively fought against his EGO. Yan took the bait and distorted when he saw how the Will of the Prescript took every act of rebellion into account. Finn....actually there might be some hope for him getting stronger because of the library. Assuming he wasn't outputted somewhere completely inhospitable.

Here we see a chance to have one such Potential Man actually Reach their potential. We need to do it.

[X] Hurdy-gurdy (Gain Title: Disharmonious Grunt)

I don't think I'll ever play in another quest where I get to play with... whatever the heck it is I googled.

Hmmmm. @Feathers, I'm understanding correctly that the stat and skill system hasn't changed?

In that case, guys, the Hurdy Gurdy is a trap option with our build. We're going to be locking ourselves into a Melee option, when our worst stat is explicitly Fortitude which is the main stat used when meleeing stuff.

If we are choosing the Hurdy Gurdy, then we need to beeline straight to achieving Ranged Attacks with this thing because we do *not* want to be near our enemy with our current build.

Also, Feathers, can we know what the negative character trait we rolled was? I feel like it's appropriate to know since we're making a character-defining choice, in addition to determining our choice of weaponry.

Cain the ever reaching, the ever envious. Of course you wouldn't stop at this level when others have it better than you.
None of the options involve "stopping" at this level. Merely how content Cain is with their "destiny". With the flute accepting it, and the Hurdy Gurdy rejecting it. Remember, we're Envy, not Pride.

Also, the Hurdy Gurdy option is the option that focuses on literally rejecting our Sin. So if you want to lean into the Envy aspect of our character, you don't want to pick the Hurdy Gurdy.

Yep! Stats and Skill System is unchanged and hopefully remain to be unchanged while I fiddle with translating it with the Limbus Combat Mechanics. Or well trying to understand the calculations when transferring numbers between the two.

Sure! Why not, might as well while I write up the whole summary of your choices in a big post in prep for the end result of this vote.

[Gained a Debilitating Detriment (Roll 1d6)]
  • 1: Survivor's Guilt
  • 2: Dissociation (Mild)
  • 3: Dissociation (Severe)
  • 4: Post-Traumatic Disorder
  • 5: Sociopathy
  • 6: Psychopathy
Dice Roll Result: 2

[Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder: Was it really you who picked up the knife? Or was it someone else inside your body? Your self-denial has reached severe levels, unable to accept the truth. There's something in your body that takes over you. An infection, a rot, nurtured from your evil thoughts. You are a spectator in your head, trapped and unable to feel, do, or say anything. In that state, you are at your most sinful, vulnerable to all of your impulses. When your Sanity reaches below -25, add a negative modifier to your Temperance Stat, decreasing it to 0 until this state wears off.

Just for the sake of curiosity, what would be the effect if we got psychopathy?

I haven't much thought of it beyond writing up this list when I first made it. But with this particular build, it would've definitely impacted your Temperance Stat in a permament manner instead of a temporary thing, either halving it or turning Temperance into a Unfavored Attribute and making you more impulsive, giving you options that are most suspectible to your chosen sin and/or autopicking during critical choices. Though I would've tried to give you a boon in favor of increasing Prudence as an apology or so if stuck with a Temperance build. Or reroll it and then changing the 6th choice because it would've just negated Temperance being chosen as a favored attribute for no reason and- oh dear.

Maybe this list has a lot more flaws than I realized beyond well silly hehe 'let's stack more trauma ontop of trauma!!!' than your character has already been given

Also, @Feathers can I ask how big the Hurdy Gurdy is? It's described as a "small violin' so it seems to be quite small for a Hurdy Gurdy, but I just want to make sure.

I'm not sure if in an earlier version of the post that I wrote it was a small violin and I changed it in a later iteration, but if I did, that's probs my mistake, my bad I meant for the size to be an average hurdy gurdy. But ig for more exact measurements, it would be 28 inches in length, and 10 pounds in weight
